Meghan Michaels is an ER nurse who is taking care of a comatose patient who was possibly pushed off a bridge. Creepy stuff begins happening to Meghan and a serial killer is targeting women. This was a whirlwind of a read full of twists and turns possibly the best I’ve read this past year. Thanks NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for this ARC that will be released April 2, 2024!

Meghan is trying to balance being a single mom to her teenage daughter and working as a full time Critical Care Nurse. When she’s assigned to Caitlin, a comatose patient with multiple injuries after jumping from a bridge, Meghan finds herself entangled in Caitlin’s life and family. Was she pushed and if so, why and by whom? The closer she comes to answers, the more she realizes she and her daughter could be the next victims.
It’s no surprise that I really enjoyed a book that centers around an ICU nurse, hospital setting AND a thriller. It’s as close as it gets to my job in the ER so I could relate to the tidbits of her nurse life. The medical treatments and jargon are also very accurate which I appreciate when it comes to storytelling; Kubica certainly did her research!
When we get to the end of part 1, a HUGE twist hits and it changes the WHOLE narrative!! 😳🫣 Then I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. But the twists don’t stop there; the last 20% is unputdownable! I really enjoyed that there are a few plot lines which keep you guessing. Are they connected? The story is fast paced and very well-executed. I did predict one of the reveals but it was still heart pounding until the end. I also liked how the ending can be interpreted in more than one way.
At times, it got a little repetitive and I have unanswered questions but it’s still a solid thriller in my book!

My first Mary Kubica read and I will be reading again. Relatable main character and suspenseful book. It did take a while
To get into but once it picked up I couldn’t put down. Will recommend.

Reads very quickly - very suspenseful! Multiple storylines and timelines going on. Couldn't figure out the twist until the very end - so that's a plus for me!

I love Mary Kubica thrillers and She is Not Sorry does not disappoint! Meghan is a single mom to Sienna and an ICU nurse. Her newest patient is Caitlin, a comatose woman who survived a suicide attempt jumping from a bridge…or was she pushed? Rich, flawed characters drive this well developed twisty tale. Many red herrings will keep you guessing.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of She’s Not Sorry.
WOW! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This may be Mary Kubica’s best work! There are so many plot twists that you still don’t have things figured out by the end! Meghan Michaels is everything you want in a main character: relatable, human, and flawed. Without spoiling anything, Kubica’s approach to telling this story is superb.

Everything I’ve read by this author is so good! This newest book is the best one yet! This story revolves around an ICU nurse who stumbles onto a lot of drama when her new patient comes to the hospital after jumping off a bridge! I can’t wait to tell everyone to buy this book! What a rollercoaster!

She's Not Sorry follows Meghan, a recently divorced single mother working as an ICU nurse. Her and her teenage daughter live in a less than ideal area of Chicago and Meghan is on high alert as there has been a man attacking women in their homes. Both her and her daughter are home alone frequently so this builds the tension in the story right off the bat. Other than serving that purpose this particular story line did not do much else for me and was not connected to the other main twist in the novel. I was also able to guess who the attacker was (which isn't a negative or positive for me, but the second twist was a lot trickier to try and tease apart early).
Meghan is assigned to care for Caitlin in the ICU, a woman who is in a coma after an apparent suicide attempt where she jumped from a bridge to the train tracks below. Meghan is hesitant at first to be caring for her as her sister committed suicide and she feels to close to the situation, but quickly forms a bond with Caitlin's family while also casting doubt that it was a suicide as there are multiple shady characters hanging around Caitlin's hospital room. As the suicide gets called into question and Caitlin's past starts to be reveled, Kubica takes us on a twisty journey to the end. This story line I really enjoyed and I did not see all the connections and twists coming. Overall I would recommend giving this book a read!
Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the advanced e-copy of this book.

This book had me on the edge of my seat today - I want to reread it already to see if I can spot the twists!
Meghan, an ICU nurse, and her 16-year-old daughter Sienna live in a small apartment in a sketchy area of Chicago where there have been a string of break-ins and sexual assaults of women on their way home.
Meghan’s latest patient Caitlin is in a coma after falling off a bridge onto the train tracks. Meghan struggles with this patient more than most due to her sister’s similar suicide. This, paired with her constant fear of going home alone to her apartment with a predator out there, and recent divorce, has Meghan desperate for friendship.
Enter her high school friend, Nat, who she meets by chance at a divorce support group. Nat’s recently left her husband due to domestic violence and abuse and appeals to Meghan’s compassionate side, letting Nat stay with her.
The twists and turns to see how all of these seemingly separate storylines merge was very impressive and well paced. I really loved the story and already want to reread to see if I can catch onto things that weren’t revealed until later in the story. 4.5 gripping stars!
Thanks to Net Galley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for giving me an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to netgalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing, Park Row for allowing me to read this book. Mary Kubica one of my favorite authors and once again she didn't disappoint.

This wasn't my favourite Mary Kubica. But it wasn't my least favourite either. It was just muddle of the road. I felt like I was reading a more romantic suspense book than a thriller. Which I don't hate just was a little jarring when it came down to it.
Meghan was an interesting character to be in the mind of for this story. She was unreliable but then we go to part two and she was extremely reliable.
I did like that Mary Kubica was able to weave together many storylines all with their own suspenseful plot. This was just a middle of the road thriller for me.
Thank you netgalley for the ARC of this book.

This was an absolute wild ride of a thriller!
The deception the author puts forth was 10/10... my mouth was agape when I reached the conclusion of Part 1! It was on the verge of receiving a 5 star review but the ending wasn't as fulfilling as I'd hoped it would have been. It felt like there were a few plot holes left open and a few characters got off easy. A door is left open for a possible sequel, but I think this will do just fine as a stand alone. There were dark and disturbing moments that had me wanting to know where Mary was leading us. The hospital scenes especially!
LOCAL WOMAN MISSING remains superior as Mary's best for me, but I enjoyed this one a lot too. Between this and JUST THE NICEST COUPLE I think this now clinches the second seed for me! This story will have you flipping the pages so fast, it's definitely one to have on your radar if you love Mary Kubica and if thrillers are your genre of choice!

What a wild ride lol. Reading a book in 24 hours is no small feat but when it is an incredibly executed thriller, I have no problem staying up all night to finish it.
Kubica has created the perfect layered mystery that comes together seamlessly in the last 100 pages. I didn’t know how she was going to do it but by the end my jaw was on the floor with everything that happened.
Heart pounding, gut wrenching, yet brilliantly executed, this thriller will have you bouncing in your chair as you fly through the pages trying to figure out what happened. Readers will be enraptured by Meghan (our main character’s) story as a divorced single mom and an ICU nurse. I honestly didn’t know Kubica could do better than Local Woman Missing but she does it here.
This will be a book that will have you staring at your wall wondering what the heck you just read. I just finished it and feel like I need to read it again because it is that good.

SHE'S NOT SORRY is Kubica's best yet. A nurse and a mother - two jobs Meghan has, and both put her in a position of someone you would be naturally inclined to trust. But as many other authors have taught us, Kubica reminds us that everyone, even those we trust, have secrets. Sometimes they haunt you, and sometimes they stay hidden.
For fans of JUST THE NICEST COUPLE, this is the perfect binge read. Mystery, secrets, and crime(s) galore wind their way into Chicago and threaten the life and family Meghan has built.

This book doesn't release until April, but I couldn't wait to read it once I got my ARC! Sorry, she's not sorry (ha!) as Mary Kubica is one of my favorite authors. I really liked this one! It sucked me right in and didn't let up. It seems like most people who already read and reviewed the book figured out one of the twists and was gobsmacked with the other. Hi, it's me! I'm also most people. However, it doesn't seem like most people care about some loose-ends that were left open, but I NEED ANSWERS on how some of the plot progressed (plot holes?). I guess its a testament to how much I enjoyed this book because I feel more invested rather than frustrated in trying to figure out what must have happened off-page. Even still, this book was fast-paced and twisty, and just what I needed to get back into my thriller groove. As always, can't wait to see what Kubica comes up with next!
Thank you Harlequin Trade Publishing, Park Row, and NetGalley for my ARC.

Wow, what twisty turns that you don't see coming at all. It very much keeps you turning pages to find out what is going to happen next. The story gets a little convoluted in the middle, but wraps us nicely. And always, a cliffhanger.......
Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for allowing me to read this ARC.

A fast moving very twisty thriller, I got absorbed right from the beginning and it kept up a frenetic pace. Three storylines, a patient being treated for a coma after a suicide attempt, a high school friend, dealing with an abusive relationship and a rapist targeting women in her neighborhood. One twist, i got just as it was revealed and it was very surprisingly. It also was a story of mother and daughters and the ever changing love between them. One storyline could have been left off and it would still have been as effective, maybe more. But i still loved it

Thank you NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book. The prologue got me thinking right away, but then after that, it was a bit slow moving. But once I got to the climax of the book, wow! I did think one part of the book just felt over the top, but otherwise this is a great title.

Wow!! This book was so great!! It may have just bumped Local Woman Missing off the throne of my favorite Mary Kubica book. 😳
I am so happy I received this ARC from @netgalley. I couldn’t wait to get to it. If you love a thriller with some awesome twists, then you will love this one too. Man, the twists just kept on coming in this one. But that ending to Part 1, left my jaw wide open. 😱 I had to reread it to make sure I read what I read. Chefs kiss on that one Mary. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I don’t want to give too much away on this one. But in short, this book is about a single mom and nurse, Meghan. You follow Meghan to work, as she’s taking care of a new patient and you follow her personal life too. She befriends an old high school acquaintance and starts dating again after her divorce. But her life is about to get turned upside down by both these storylines. But that all I want to say. You HAVE to read this one. I’m telling you, it’s @marykubica at her best. This book is fantastic. I loved it so much. I couldn’t put it down. Definitely one of my top reads of the year. You’ll want to pick this one up as soon as it comes out next year. Again, thank you to @netgalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review. This was definitely a huge ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 stars for me!!
Be sure to get your copy when it comes out.

What’s your favorite Mary Kubica book? This just may be mine now. It was THAT awesome!

So much twists and turns and the hospital setting made it so creepy but also so thrilling. Her books never disappoint.
