Thank you to NetGalley for the arc. 4/5 star read from Mary Kubica. I devoured this thriller as I usually do with Mary Kubicas books! Fast paced, keeps you guessing and entertaining.

Thank you so much to Park Row and NetGalley for the earc, my opinion is my own.

I absolutely have loved every book by Mary Kubica and this is no exception.

Meghan is a nurse in an icu ward, we follow her as she is taking care of her patient that attempted suicide Caitlin. At a meeting for divorce support, she runs into her old high school friend. Now the twists start coming. Who is telling the truth? Was Caitlin murdered or did she attempt suicide? This all comes thundering to a great finale that still leaves you with some questions.

She’s Not Sorry
By Mary Kubica
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Meghan is an ICU nurse and single mom to a teenage girl. She’s trying to figure out life after divorce. One night at her divorce support group, she runs into Nat, acquaintance from high school. Meghan, desperate for a friend, tries to cox Nat into attending the divorce support in hopes that it will give Nat the courage to divorce her abusive husband. But after Nat reappears in Meghan’s life, Meghan suddenly has lots of trouble in her life. Her life’s a mess outside of work and she’s struggling with one of her patients in the ICU. Meghan’s not sure if her patient will survive a tragic fall. When her patient’s family begins to think their daughter was pushed, things get really interesting…

I was so excited for this one! Ever since reading Local Woman Missing, I knew Mary Kubica had a gift for writing thrillers. I’ve had this one on my list for a while and I’m glad I finally read it.

Honestly, I struggled through part one. I felt like there was so much going on and I was ready for some action. Then I hit part two and WOW. Some of the twists I definitely saw coming, but there were a couple that really took me by surprise.

This one offered a really unique perspective on healthcare and being a nurse. I don’t want to spoil anything, but Meghan’s nursing role was a huge deal in part two. It was very interesting to read about that since I work in healthcare myself.

The one complaint I have about this book is how many different storylines there were. Kidnapping scams, drama from California, a mysterious man attacking women, family drama all around, etc.
Just a lot to keep up with!

Overall, I really enjoyed this one. If you enjoy unreliable narrators, family drama, and con stories, this might just be the thriller for you. I suggest looking into trigger warnings before reading.

Thank you NetGalley and Park Row Books for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!

Each year, Kubica delivers a hit. This is another great book from one of the best in the business that kept me up reading late into the night.

Loved the story line. Twists & turns I didn’t see coming. Slow at first, but once into it, definitely hooked me!

I was so into this book but then the ending just pissed me off. It was predictable but also implausible and those are not what you want in a thriller. Sadly this will not be a favorite of mine, but I will continue to read every Mary Kubica book.

If you are looking for a bingeable popcorn thriller, this will do the trick. I was flipping pages quickly on this one. The tension was more from psychological suspense than jumpy scenes and it really worked. Highly recommend if you're in the mood for a binge-read weekend.

This is my third book by this author, the first two were Local Woman Missing and Just The Nicest Couple, I enjoyed them and recommend as well.

The prologue hooked me, but then it just got a little slow for me. I almost did not finish this book, but I kept on and am glad that I did! After my hurdle, the ending of part one and all of part two of the book intensified with twist after twist that just kept me on the edge of my seat. I literally could not read fast enough to figure out what was going to happen next. To be honest, this is one of the few books that has given me that intense feeling where you are drawn in and are like a part of the book itself. All of the reveals were executed at the right moments and made this a great thriller.

I have a nursing background so I could relate to this book and Meghan where you get emotionally attached to your patients and/or their family members, even though you are taught not to, but it is inevitable. Meghan's instinct is to try and help and protect, but some of her decisions were questionable, which leads to an even better story.

Over all, I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend. Thank you Park Row and NetGally for my advanced copy!

I had difficulty getting into this book and staying with it. I felt like it was prolonged paced. I've read Mary Kubica books before and enjoyed them. I almost didn't finish the book but I was glad I did. There is a twist at the end and I didn't see it coming.

One woman fighting for her life in an ICU bed, one woman being manipulated, one woman with a secret, one woman living a double life… but who is who? I loved the medical overtones and twists/turns. Great psychological thriller!!

She’s Not Sorry
Mary Kubica

This book is so thrilling and exciting to read and a plus for a nurse main character. Kubica really got the Critical Care setting and the lingos of the ICU nurse right which helps not to distract from the main story line. I was so surprised with how the story turned out and the weaving of the stories - jaw drop for sure!

Excellent read and five solid stars ⭐️

Mary Kubica’s masterfully explores the familial and romantic relationships, personal trauma, truth, and redemption in this book.

I was hooked from the first page and it kept me guessing until the very end.

The story centers on Meghan, a nurse whose life takes a turn when she is assigned a new patient at work - a woman in a coma, whose story we start to learn through family members and friends who visit her.

The story evolves and unfolds slowly throughout the book which I felt was *perfect* for this type of story. We get crumbs and bit by bit I kept needing to turn the page to get more! I did not want to put this book down.

Although we get the impression not everyone is to be trusted in the story, I felt a strong pull to Meghan. I liked her story, I felt empathy for her struggles and I honestly was ready to be in her corner. I found her character to be extremely well written.

I loved the twists the book took. I did not expect the ending!

Definitely one I recommend for anyone out there who loves a good thriller or mystery book.

I will definitely be reading more from Mary Kubica in future!!

I really want to like her books, but there always seems to be a moment or two when she completely loses me. This book was the same way; I loved all the twists and turns, and something totally unnecessary was added that threw it off.

4.5 stars.

This book had all the suspense and was so good! The pace of the story was just like Local Girl Missing, giving you a glimpse into several characters and building up the plot. I liked that it was the parts of the story were past and present, I feel like it really added to the suspense and making the connections. I definitely wasn't expecting who one of the bad guys was, but it was such a great twist. Highly recommended this book.

This book had a lot of twists and turns and I liked it, but sometimes it felt like there were too many "shocking reveals" to the point that it wasn't as effective anymore. It was an interesting read and definitely held my attention, but in the end, I feel like some of the outcomes just weren't as plausible as I would have liked.

Meghan is a recent divorcee, with a teenage daughter at home, who works as a nurse in the local hospital ICU. While on duty at the hospital one day, a patient named Caitlin arrives in a coma with a traumatic brain injury, having jumped from a bridge and plunging over twenty feet to the train tracks below. But when a witness comes forward with shocking details about the fall, it calls everything they know into question. Was Caitlin pushed and if so, by whom and why?

Meghan tries to stay emotionally detached from her patients, but this time, she feels more connected. To the patient and to her family that comes to the hospital to see Caitlin. At the same time, an old friend of Meghan's comes back into her life, and she has a world of baggage that she brings with her as well. Meeting at the divorce support group, Natalie has an abusive ex-husband and she is trying to make a break from him. Meaghan wants to be there to support her friend and finds herself entangled in Natalie's world soon as well. With so many different storylines going at once, the question becomes, how will they all connect? It's never the way you'd think....

Thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was an okay thriller but it didn't live up to the hype that is Mary Kubica. I found the plot a little bit confusing at times and unbelievable. There were twists and turns but I found them somewhat predictable. I will continue to read Mary Kubica as she has delivered in the past.

I’m rating this book a 3 but I’d say it’s more of a 3.5 for me. While I very much appreciate my name finally being featured as a primary character’s and spelled correctly - there was a bit too many things happening in this story for it to have the same OMG impacts that the author was striving to achieve.

My husband actually read this before me and I oftentimes had to verbalize all the different characters and potential conflicts to him to keep everything straight.

I am curious what my fellow thriller/mystery readers think of the different elements included in his story compared to her other work. I am eager to try more from this author.

A fantastic thriller with twists and turns throughout. The story changes direction at the drop of a pin and you'll be on the edge of your seat waiting to find out what happens next! Definitely recommended!

This was decent but might have been a case of wrong book wrong time. I think I'm just not in my thriller era right now. Definitely delivered on the twists in typical Kubica fashion.
