For clean and wholesome Regency Era romances Sarah M. Eden is a name I can trust. This book is part of the Huntresses series who are a group of friends of Artemis Lancaster. Eden has multiple series that are set in the same historical fiction world. So it isn’t surprising to see familiar family names from her other books. If you recognize the connections great, but the books can be read on their own.

In this story the main characters, Daria Mullins and Toss Comstock, are both being overlooked and controlled by their families. Daria’s parents want her to give up on London after three unsuccessful seasons. It is only by her brother saying she has connections through her Huntress friends and that will improve his chances to be successful that they allow her one more season. They are determined to retire her to the country to live with an aunt. Toss is a second son and has been told by his older brother that his education will no longer be funded. His prospects look dim to continue with his interest in music. There is a very fun competition between the two that allows them to often be in each other's company.

There is longing and tenderness between two characters that live at the whims of family members. And it is lovely to see their friend group rally to help them. Very enjoyable.

This is such a tender story. Daria Mullins has continued to be mistreated by her parents. When they tell her she is staying home, she talks them into letting her go to London for the season, not for herself but for her brother Tobias, with the hopes that by introducing him to her Huntress friends he will make some friends of his own. Daria doesn't have any hopes for herself she already knows that her parents have plans for her to go live with her great aunt.
Toss Comstock comes to London for his last Batchelor season because next year, he will be at the mercy of his brother. His brother doesn't see the talent that Toss has and takes away everything that Toss has an interest in.
Two lost souls who are at the mercy of their families that don't see the good in either one. Sarah Eden crafts a story that is tender and had me rooting for Daria and Toss.

Such a great addition to the Huntress series! I love the characters of Daria and Toss. They both had insecurities resulting from a bad family situation. I loved how they became friends first and really supported each other and boosted each other up. One of my favorite parts of the book was getting to revisit old, much love characters like Persephone and the Duke of Kielder! I highly recommend reading this book. It was great!

I love Toss and Daria. This whole world of the Gents and Jonquils and Huntresses is so fun. Sarah is a genius and I love her stories! Can’t wait to get my hands on a physical copy to add to my collection.

Oh, how I love this group of people that Sarah Eden has created. The Gents, the Jonquils, the Dangerous Duke, the Huntresses and the unnamed men! My heart just loves these characters and their stories.

Daria is a Huntress, one who is continually verbally abused by her parents. The Huntresses have helped her grow, but now she has to fight hard to see them and enjoy a London Season.

Toss is from the unnamed group of men. He took has lost much with a cruel brother controlling his life.

They have met before, but this time, they begin helping each other and growing together.

I love the impact that Mater and the Duke of Kielder had in this story. I love how these characters lives are all intertwined. I can not wait for the next installment. Whose story will be next?

Thank you Netgalley for another great book by Sarah Eden. This was a regency era historical fiction and was a sweet and clean romance. I loved this next addition to the "Huntress" series with Artemis and her gals. I didn't like how frequently the author drilled home the point of main character Daria's lack of faith in her intelligence but other than that this was a fantastic read! This can be read as a stand alone but knowing the other characters, especially the Duke of Kielder, is great! Can't wait for the next one!

I LOVE SARAH! This book was lovely. I loved getting to know Daria and Toss. Daria is a sweet character who has dealt with a lot in life and Toss has also dealt with a lot in life and they end up being friends...and then more. He fell first AND he fell harder. I love watching their friendship develop into more.
