Fab story, love this author and this series but could easily be read as a standalone looking forward to the next one

J.B. Turner's thriller is a masterclass in suspense and mystery. As always a great story based on Jon Reznick. Easy to read, fast paced and full of action. It may help to have read at least some of the previous books in the series so you have a good idea of the history of Jon Reznick and the other characters

Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this latest offering by J B Turner. I love a Jon Reznick tale but this one did not quite come up to my expectations. Fast paced and wintery setting but there was a little bit of seasoning missing from what is usually a delicious adventure. However, just a little hiccup.....am off the read the next installment !

I liked this story for the last few of his books. It was difficult for me to get into them for some reason, especially this character. Here in this story, he is forced back into his old life and I think that helps the story along. I felt more engaged as a reader and the story felt more gripping and exciting with twists and turns that kept me the reader guessing as to what was going to happen next. All of this makes for a really good book. The story had good characters and a good pace and it was very much worth the read.

A Swiss intellegence agent, Hans Muller, who has been working with several other international intellence agencies downloads lots of secure data just before he disappears to go to the Russians. Meanwhile, Jon Resnick talks with an old friend who tells him the wife he thought he lost during 9/11 may still be alive. Although Elizabeth was working in the twin towers at the time, she wasn't in the building that went down first! She changed her name to Anna Bruckmann. Resnick goes to Switzerland to try to find her, and finds she is one of the people compromised by Muller, and now the Russians want Muller to kill her.

This is a very exciting book, and I don't want to give away any more! I thank Netgalley and Thomas and Mercer for an ARC.

Hard Exit is the eleventh book in the action-packed Jon Reznick series about a maverick ex-Delta operative who can’t stay out of trouble. After the relative disappointment of the last one, this is a return to form, which has Reznick facing the possibility that his beloved wife - who supposedly died in the Twin Towers on 9/11 - may still be alive. While this series has ongoing plot threads and character evolution, I think this one would work as a stand-alone (although I have read them all in order.)

Reznick is enjoying an overdue vacation in Florida when he is contacted by an old friend who is dying. At their final visit, a stray comment about Elizabeth having worked for the CIA sets Reznick on a hunt for answers. Meanwhile in Switzerland, an intelligence operative has disappeared taking a trove of potentially devastating secret information with him - but why was he so interested in a photo of a mysterious woman whose identity he cannot confirm?

I enjoyed this fast paced adventure, which reveals a new side to Jon, as well as bringing back his now adult daughter. While the previous book highlighted his sociopathic tendencies, this one focuses on the vulnerability of someone who believes they have been a widower for over twenty years, and is finally happy in a new relationship, having to confront the possibility that everything he thought he knew about his wife may have been a lie. Now I’m looking forward to the next one!

I really enjoyed this book. Gripping read. I did like Jon. I hope there is more to come. 4*.

Even though this is the eleventh installment of the series, and the first for me, I didn't feel lost and like I was missing something from the previous installments. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this high-octane story that kept me awake until I finished it. I will read the previous installments to see what has been done by Jon Reznick before this one.

Another thrilling escapade for government fixer Jon Reznick. This time the stakes are higher as his family is involved. When Hans Muller decides he is owed money for the work that he does for his country, he downloads confidential files that another government will pay for. When he is taken hostage by the Russians, he is blackmailed to eliminate a female operative in Switzerland. Jon is told that his wife Elisabeth, long thought to have been killed in the collapse of the trade towers, may still be alive and working as a CIA operative. Hard Exit is another brilliant addition to the Jon Reznick series.

There is a massive twist relating to Reznick's past, I will not spoli it here, that leads Reznick to Swizterland to uncover a mystery. Reznick's daughter comes to help him and, as always, there is some carnage.

This had a slightly different feel to previous Reznick books, the setting of Switzerland helped here, but this is not to the detriment of the story. JB Turner continues to serve up satisfying stories with the one man army (with a little help from his friends) with Jon Reznick, a brilliant read with elements of mystery, conspiracy, esponage and action.

Well wow. I did NOT see this coming. I ama fan of this series and have always loved all the books. However, book 10 I struggled with a little and felt like it didn't fit with the others. Picking this book up it also didn't necessarily fit with what you have read about Reznick in the past because this book goes a lot deeper than the norm and it's hugely personal for Jon.

Hans Muller is the start of this story and it's when he finds someone on CCTV footage that cannot be identitfied he realises just what he has stumbled upon! The identity of that person is someoe who is meant to be dead, and sadly for Hans Muller the person whose life it affects the most is Reznick. Reznick doesn't know whether to believe that this missing person is his wife but he is determined to find out. The story is an absolute rollercoaster from start to finish and I read this in just a handful of sittings over a day and a half.

I think you really do have to have read the series to undstad the gravity of this book. I thoroughly enjoyed it and was so pleased with the way the story was wrapped up. I was so worried it would be cliched but I needn't have worried. I thoroughly enjoyed it and cannot wait to see what is nect for Jon.

This story seems a little different than his others. Here he decides to pursue this task versus being assigned to perform it. Thse story begins with Jon on vacation in the Keyes when he receives a call from the wife of a former Delta teammate. The teammate is dying of cancer and asked to see him. When Jon arrives at the hospital, he is able to talk with him and while Jon is there, the teammate dies. One of the things that Jon was told pertained to his dead wife. Jon believed what he herd was wrong because his wife died on 9/11.

Jon is at the funeral in Montana when he talks with a person who told the teammate about Jon's wife. Talking with Trevelle, he then goes to Colorado to talk with one of Travelle's friends. There he learns that someone recently sent a picture that needed identification. As it turns out it was a picture of a person in Switzerland which could not be identified, but the profile was almost 80% associated with Jon's wife. To make matters worse, the request came from Hans, a person who just stole information and was being hunted. As a result of this information, Jon went to Switzerland.

Once Jon came into Switzerland, he was picked up by the NDB, a law enforcement agency, who questioned him about why he was there. He was eventually released, but they kept an eye on him. His search continued and as he got closer to finding out about his wife, he was taken captive by NDB and told to leave Switzerland. He was under scrutiny because of what Han's did.

Jon was not dissuaded and because of injuries he received by his last meeting with NAB, his daughter Lauren flew to meet him from NYC. To discover why Jon's search raised flags, how Jon ultimately met up with his wife and why the disappearance.happened, what other obstacles Jon had to overcome and it all worked out in the end, then you need to read this book. It may open your eyes to what is going on behind the scenes.

The plot thickens and Jon must do all he can to protect his family while he finds out the truth.

A really well written novel. Loved the pace of the plot line and all the twists and turns. Excellent read.

Jon Reznick returns in this twisty thriller. He is visiting a former Delta buddy who has terminal cancer.

His buddy tells him of a guy he worked with who had met Jon's wife in a CIA briefing. Jon says this cannot be possible as his wife was a tax attorney and she had died in the World Trade Center on 9/11.

Using his contacts, he traces a woman in Switzerland who resembles his dead wife. But neither the Pentagon or Russian Intelligence wants him to get to her.

Reznick pursues his target in his usual ruthless way leaving a trail of baddies behind him,

A really enjoyable international thriller with a plausible plot. I enjoyed the first book in this series, and wasn’t disappointed by the second. It was action packed, devious and fast paced. While Jon Reznick isn’t a lovable character, you certainly feel for him and the way his life is falling apart. It’s also frightening to realise that it could well be true, given the way countries spy on friends and enemies alike and how many different ways we are all spied on in every day life. Recommended.

Hard Exit is the eleventh installment in the Jon Reznick series. It is the first one I’ve read but I didn’t feel lost coming into the series at such a late starting point.

I can understand the appeal of the protagonist. While the character is not multi dimensional in development, he is interesting. Perhaps previous books developed his character dynamically. The book alluded to his past death defying feats and killer instincts ( literally and figuratively as he has been in the CIA and other intelligence agencies.

The pace is fast. I read it in one sitting. However, the plot is fantastical and far fetched. While interesting, there were some issues: VERY stilted dialogue, editing errors, unrealistic scenarios. (Would the agents who beat him up really not confiscate his weapon)? 🤔. There were many other examples of 🤔.

This author is prolific and popular and receives high marks. It might appeal to anyone who enjoys espionage and geopolitical storylines. I will read previous books because this one alludes to the protagonist’s many exciting espionage adventures! I love this genre.

Hard Exit by J.B. Turner starts with an intriguing prologue that gets this political thriller revved-up and in high gear. A Swiss intelligence agent goes missing and takes classified documents with him that have the potential to expose covert agents and information. It includes information on American, British, and other agents including one that is supposed to be dead. Since the “who” is a spoiler for the earlier books in the series, I recommend not reading the book synopsis and going into this novel cold.

Jon Reznick is former military and a former covert operative who still does occasional work for one of the American alphabet agencies. He’s an excellent shot, highly intelligent, fearless, and tough. However, he also has a temper and can experience mood swings.

This story has great pacing, a twisty and absorbing plot, and plenty of exciting scenes. My main quibble is that I didn’t quite feel like I was in Switzerland. I needed a little more world-building for that. Despite this, I thoroughly enjoyed the novel. It is well-plotted with some unpredictable moments and plenty of conflict. Themes include murder, mystery, family, friendship, trust, duplicity, espionage, and much more.

Overall, this high-octane thriller was entertaining, thought-provoking, and a powerful page-turner from start to finish. This is the eleventh book in the Jon Reznick thriller series and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
