Hugely enjoyable read.
From the twists and turns, to the mystery, violence, and well spun plot threads, this book has it all.
It had me hooked throughout and is a real page turner. You’ll find yourself desperate to find out what happens next.
Well written with characters you’ll either love or despise, this book is a must read that I can’t praise enough.

A gritty crime story. Although i felt the end was rushed which left me disappointed. and the begining was slow.
Two gangland families unite by a marriage. There are a lot of characters so you have to keep on the ball otherwise you'll lose the plot. I do love a crime book but this one needs to stick to a handful of characters and their backgrounds to stop the confusion.

Deceit by Casey King is the first book in the new gangland crime series set in Dublin. This book is about two gang families.

When Danielle Lewis returns home after the attempt on her life 10 years earlier, she has a reason now to return and wants answers. She will do anything to get these answers..............

This book is full of twists and turns throughout and a great start of a new series that just kept on giving. especially as Casey King is a new author to me. I am looking forward to the next book to this series.

Big Thank you to NetGalley and Joffe Books for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I really did like the look and sound of this book when i first saw it. I was eager to read and see what it was like.
I was not disappointed at all with this read. What a cracker it turned out to be. The really good news is that the author has a second book to publish in December.

Good characters and a decent story line that will keep you gripped.

A great start introducing a new crime family. Returning from London Danielle is back in Ireland, back with her family and looking for answers to what took her away from Ireland in the first place. Not knowing who can be trusted and what lies ahead, Dani sets out to find answers.

I look forward to seeing what more this author has to offer, but I can see this being a great series.

This book is a completely unputdownable gritty and gripping gangland thriller (The Dublin Thrillers Book 1).

Ten years ago Danielle marries Jason Flynn in order to bring together their warring Dublin crime families. It should be a joyous wonderful occasion but them somebody tries to kill her,,,,

Danielle survives the shooting but loses her unborn son. She can’t prove it, but she knows the attack is an attempt to bring down her new family.

Unputdownable book from Casey. recommended.

I've mentioned before that I did a writing course a few years ago with author Casey King.
I am beyond thrilled to see her finally publish her first book and her writing career begin to take off.
I read Deceit recently and I am stunned.
It is absolutely brilliant and you would never think it is a debut...
Her characters, I took to immediately. I thought the banter between them was mighty.
Danielle Lewis her main character I loved. She's a strong independent woman who is well able to step in and up for her family when needed.
I liked that she showed a little vulnerability with losing her baby and her cheating partner but extremely tough on the outside.
She has a good kind heart underneath it all but no fool. She's back home to try find out who wanted to have her killed some years back.
Nothing beats a good family rivalry though and that's what we get between the Flynn and the Lewis families.
A great gangland storyline with plenty of drama and action to keep you entertained.
I don't like to compare too much as everyone is different in their work but I can see this author becoming the next Martina Cole.
I am eagerly waiting and hugely excited for book two Exposed and I've not felt this way about a series or author in a long while.
Throughly enjoyed it.
Huge well done to Casey King. You were worth the wait and you have nailed it...
I'm so proud of you...

Danielle Lewis left her family and disappeared to London a decade ago after being shot at and losing her unborn child. Now she is back and re-enters her family's criminal network. But can she find out who was responsible for her attack?
Deceit is the first book in a new family drama and gangland crime series. However, the past plays a significant role in the plot developments and character behaviour.
Dani fled after finding her lover had cheated on her, being shot at and losing her baby. She went through a lot of trauma and needed time to heal. Now she is ready to rejoin her family as well as find the truth about the past. The Lewis and Flynn rivalry has continued in her absence and her reappearance could shift the family dynamics.
The book is written in the third person throughout so we see and understand a range of characters and their actions. Dani has a huge emotional burden but she is able to put it aside to focus on her purpose and support her family. Many of the characters are larger than life and there is a comic touch to some of the dialogue.
There are a lot of intricate and entangled relationships that underpin the various plot strands. I enjoyed the different layers of plot which created a tense atmosphere and dramatic interactions between the characters. There is some violence as you would expect from this genre but it is not too graphic.
Deceit is an entertaining novel and I look forward to reading future books in this series.

For people who enjoy thrillers regarding gang life then this is a recommended read for you! The author does well to give a true indication of life as part of the gangs of Dublin and I was particularly impressed with the main character Danielle, a strong female who you are constantly routing for throughout the book.

It focuses on real life issues facing many today, violence and drugs to name just a few. It’s very similar to some of the Karen Woods books I’ve read and loved so will definitely be keeping an eye out for more from this author.

The story starts off fast paced and continues throughout, with multiple plot twists keeping the reader engaged and wanting to find out what happens next. Would recommend to all.

Ten years ago, someone tried to kill her - Danielle Lewis's marriage to Jason Flynn brings together two warring crime families. It should be a joyous union. But someone tries to take her life - Danielle survives the shooting but loses her unborn son. she can't prove it, but she knows her shooting is related to the crime that both families trade in. Then Jason cheats on her, just when she needs him most. And Danielle has had it. She leaves Dublin and her family behind.

Now she's back and she wants answers - After ten long years in exile in London, Danielle returns. Her homecoming threatens the uneasy truce that has existed between the Lewis's and the Flynn's ever since she left.

This is the first book in a new gangland crime series. The main character, Danielle, is a member of the notorious Lewis family. There were lots of storylines going on at the same time, and lots of characters to try and remember. Danielle wants to know who gave the order to have her shot ten years ago. The characters are not all that likable, but they all had their own agendas. The ending felt a bit rushed and abrupt.

I would like to thank #NetGalley #JoffeBooks and the author #CaseyKing for my ARC of #Deceit in exchange for an honest review.

Casey King is another new author for me. This is a great book Danielle lewis is back in the country after being shot and losing her unborn child.,she is one of the infamous lewis clan who rule the city.. she wants answers on who gave the instruction to take her out and in the process they killed a met police officer.. Ged her uncle has left provisions that if anything happens to him that the businesses are left to danielle and not dean his son, which doesn't impress him..
WHO CAN YOU TRUST?
WHO COMES OUT ON TOP?
Great storyline, .this book has it all murder, deceit, families at war........

This is one of my favourite genres.
Set in Dublin, it tells the story of two gang families. When Danielle Lewis returns to Dublin after the attempt on her life 10 years before. She has a reason to return and wants answers.
I enjoyed this book by this new author. Gritty thriller with lots of twists.
It had quite a slow start and quite a few characters that came and went quite quickly.
But it did keep my attention and I’m definitely interested in reading where it goes from here as it did finish very suddenly
