This book definitely felt like a conclusion to the story we started in book 1. I felt like I finally had answers to all of my questions, but I also enjoyed the new setting. It was fun to essentially pack up our characters and drop them in a new place. Finlay‘s mom was really the star here, and it was so fun getting to know her as well as more of Vero’s background. I’m not sure where the series is going to go next as this felt like the end to our story, but I’m excited about the latest release coming in just a few days!

3.5/5.0
More enjoyable than the last one. Even though it had one set location, I felt like more happened than in book 3. I also just enjoy the mishaps Finlay and Vero get into.

Bananas as always.
I had a lot of fun with how this one unfolded. Excited to dive into the next one.

In one word, the Finlay Donovan series is FUN. The fourth book, Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice, is a bit messy. I've read the fifth book, and it's so much stronger that this one. Rolls the Dice felt a bit messy, overcomplicated at times, but also too simple. In some ways it seemed Cossimano was trying to make this one an action thriller, but there were so many holes that I just had to accept, believe, and move on.
While this wasn't my favorite of the series, it still held true to the wrong (or right?) place at the wrong (or right?) time hilarious style that I keep coming back to. They are entertaining, witty, fast-paced, and slightly romantic.. You can’t help but root for Finlay and the messes she finds herself in.

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is the fourth mystery in the Finlay Donovan series. When a dangerous loan shark takes Findlay’s car and Vero’s childhood crush, Javi, the duo are off to Atlantic City to negotiate a deal. What is supposed to be disguised as a girls trip quickly goes awry when Findlay’s kids, ex husband and mother tag along. Now Vero and Finlay must get to the bottom of everything while trying to keep their loved ones safe. As always with these two, nothing goes as planned and there are more dead bodies turning up than they want to deal with. Will Finlay and Vero be able to make it out of Atlantic City in one piece with everything they came for?
This is a great series full of comic relief and humor that make these books so hard to put down. I am so glad I read this book and was not disappointed. Finlay and Vero are a great lead duo and I love all of the antics they get up to throughout each mystery. The cast of supporting characters are also great and add so much to these books. I enjoyed this book from start to finish and like how everything played out at the end. The cliffhanger at the very end makes me impatient to read the next book! Just when Finlay thinks it’s over something else always pops up. If you need a good, light hearted mystery that will keep you laughing this is a series to check out!

This may have been my favorite installment of the series so far. When Finlay and Vero head to Atlantic City to confront the mobsters who have been plaguing Vero, but end up having Finlay's mom, kids, and ex-husband all tag along on the girls' trip they THINK is happening, there's no doubt that hijinks aplenty will ensue, and man, does Elle Cosimano deliver on that promise. With the usual whip-smart banter, the epic gal-pal dynamic between Finlay and Vero, romance aplenty for both women, and an added dose of development for Finlay's mom, Susan, it's just a rollicking bit of fun.

Another fun continuation in this series. This one was not as exciting as the others however I liked that it built on previous storylines and that we got to see relationships continue to build. I also enjoyed that we got to learn more about Vero's character, and it had more of her in the book. I was surprised by some of the twists that occurred in this book, and it ended on a cliffhanger so onto book 5!

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is the fourth installment in author Elle Cosimano's Finlay Donovan Series. 9 hours ago, Finlay and Vero Ramirez escaped a fire at the Citizens’ Police Academy where they were trying to out a compromised cop working for Feliks Zhirov. In a wicked turn of events, it's not who they thought, and he fled with a suitcase filled with money. Money Vero, who is Finlay's partner-in-crime, needs to pay off Marco Toscano. Now with Vero's friend Ike missing, and 72 to hours to payback Marco, it's time for a new plan.
With the money gone, and Vero needing to clear her debts, Finlay Donovan and Vero plan a trip to Atlantic City which they tell everyone else it's a girls away vacation. It's actually a cover story to negotiate a deal with a dangerous loan shark, save Vero’s childhood crush Javi, and hunt down a stolen car―it won’t be all fun and games. When Finlay’s ex-husband Steven decides she can't leave town with the kids, he joins. If that wasn't enough, Finlay's mom appears to be having martial issues, and needs to get away.
Finlay and Vero suddenly have a few too many meddlesome passengers along for the ride. Within hours of arriving in their seedy casino hotel, it becomes clear their rescue mission is going to be a bust. Javi’s kidnapper, Marco Toscano, refuses to negotiate, demanding payment in full in exchange for Javi’s life. But that’s not all―he insists on knowing the whereabouts of his missing nephew, Ike, who mysteriously disappeared. Unable to confess what really happened to Ike, since he might implicate her in another death, Finlay and Vero are forced to come up with a new plan: sleuth out the location of Javi and the Aston Martin, then steal them both back.
But when they sneak into the loan shark’s suite to search for clues, they find more than they bargained for―Marco's already dead, and there's also another body as well. They don’t have a clue who murdered him, only that they themselves have a very convincing motive thanks to one Feliks Zhirov. Then things get complicated when Detective Nick Anthony, Finlay's sister Georgia, Detective Becker, and FBI Agent Garret Stokes show up after receiving a tip that Feliks is in Atlantic City.
Experiencing roadblock after roadblock from family, friends, lovers, and bad guys, Finlay and Vero are doubling down on this crapshoot with every gimmick and wild card they can line up. This isn't Penny ante poker they're playing and the stakes are high. If Finlay can juggle a jealous ex-husband, two precocious kids, her mother’s marital issues, a decomposing loan shark, and find Vero’s missing boyfriend, she might get out of Atlantic City in one piece. But will she fold under the pressure and come clean about the things she’s done, or be forced to double down?
While this book ends right where Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun, this book is the opening for the next book in the series where readers may finally learn the truth about Finlay's noisy next door neighbor. We are also hopefully seeing another aspect of Finlay's life with not only Nick, but with her romantic suspense novel she's been working on over the course of this series. It would be nice if things wrapped up for Finlay, and she got a happy ending.

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC. All opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed the first book in the series, but by this point I feel like the author is just beating dead horse. It’s no longer just a little silly and fun, it’s now just completely ridiculous, and I spent more of the book rolling my eyes than caring about how Finlay and Veronica are going to get themselves out of this situation.

Another fun and adventurous installment with Vero and Fin! This series is such a fun and easy quick read that keeps the reader engaged in the fun and hilarious hijinks.

She’s back, and in even more accidental trouble. In this installment, Finlay and Vera head off to Atlantic City, but find Finlay’s mother, ex-husband and children tagging along. And naturally Nick ends up there too.
I loved having all of the characters in one place, and Finlay and Vera are trying to negotiate with Javi’s kidnapper and find the missing Aston Martin without raising any suspicion. And there is a dead body. Because of course there is.
Nb: this is part of a series that is best read in order.
3.5 stars rounded up

I was so happy to be back with Finlay and Vero. Although this has the same signature style of book one: crazy, entertaining, LOL funny and completely far fetched in the very best way, it stull felt fresh. I loved seeing the characters evolve and the side characters getting more time. What a great group, including Finlay's mom, who is a hoot!

While I typically love the Fairfax County setting since it is where I call home, I loved that this book took us to a new place and introduced some new characters. It really injected some necessary energy after the third book and the shenanigans with her mom, the male strip club, and the wigs were hilarious. A really fun book in this series!

Thank you to St Martin's Press and Minotaur books for the reader copy of this novel!
Poor Finlay didn't even get to truly sleep between her whirlwind adventure at the week-long police academy training which went horribly awry before she is off to sort out how to cover up her next blunder. This time- she and Vero are hitting the road and going to Atlantic City to "have a girls weekend." But as we know, Finlay and Vero do not have time to ever relax. They are actually taking this trip to try to negotiate with a load shark that Vero is indebted too and who may have kidnapped Vero's childhood crush. While that isn't complicated enough, Finlay and Vero are joined by not only Finlay's mother... but her children and he ex-husband. Narrowly navigating this complex dynamic, Finlay and Vero laugh their way through unexpected arrivals and miss steps. But wait, you can't forget that the mob boss, Feliks, is still on their tail and seeking answers from Finlay's recent deceit.
My absolute favorite part of this book is seeing Finlay's true self worth and independence shine through. Cosimano has done a really great job of seeing this slow progression over the books as Finlay has grown.
There are so many different facets to this story there is no shortage of entertainment from Vero's dry humor to Finlay's incredibly bad luck in stumbling upon dead bodies. If you have enjoyed any of these books so far, you are sure to enjoy this one as well. These books are un-put-down-able and a quick read. I've finished all of these books within just a few days.

This series is just amazing. Every book is another 5 star read for me! Finlay Donovan is just so entertaining in every story. I cannot believe I waited so long to start reading this series

Another laugh out loud adventure with Finlay and Vero. I love that we get to also spend time with Vero's mom and sister too. It's sometimes hard to keep a reader engaged when you get to the 4th book of a series, but not Elle Cosimano. The antics just get more ridiculous and hilarious. I can't wait to see the TV series if Sylvia has her way. I guess we'll have to wait for book 5.
Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for a copy in exchange for my honest review.

Another great addition to the Finlay Donovan series! In "Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice," Finlay, Vero, and their whole crew head to Atlantic City for a little relaxation, but it proves to be anything but that. As a fan of the series, this was a wonderful next installment, right down to the cliffhanger ending! It may be a little tough for new readers of the franchise to catch up on all of the background drama, but even without that context, it's still a great standalone book. Can't wait to read the next one!

This is the fourth book in the Finlay Donovan series written by Elle Cosimano. A girls’ trip to Atlantic City becomes an extended family outing. It comes with all the craziness that surrounds Findlay and Vero. Steven inserts himself to this trip and just makes everyone miserable but he does provide child rearing duties. I actually believe he gains an appreciation for what Findlay provided to their home life while they were married. But maybe, I am projecting my hopes.
This story is jammed with so much that if I say more, I’ll probably be releasing a spoiler.
I like this book but not as much as the first. I did roll my eyes often as I kept turning the pages.
Thank-you Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to binge read the series to date. These are my own opinions and I am not required to leave a positive review. I rate this a 3.5.

Finlay is back! The series was beginning to lose its magic for me, but this one brought it back.
Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice picks up immediately after the events at the citizen police academy. It was great. This book was delightful. I didn’t like FD Jumps the Gun, but really felt like this one returned to the humor, antics, and relationships that I loved in Finlay Donovan is Killing It.
This book was fast paced, funny, full of tension, and had a great plot. I’m back into the series and ready to read the next one!

As always, this was a such a fun read! It was weird and truly hilarious. It has everything you could think of stolen cars, the Mafia, Atlantic City, kidnapping, and of course dead bodies.. I absolutely adore Finlay and Vero and all of their shenanigans. They really get up to a lot in this time around. So much fun! I can't wait to see what they do next!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are my own.
