Another fast-paced, absurd, hilarious, and entirely wonderful installment of the Finlay Donovan series! In a world where busyness and stress are the norm, these books and characters are no-stress, light-hearted FUN — a much-needed reprieve — and I absolutely adore them! If you haven’t yet, do yourself a favor and pick up the first book asap and get sucked into the chaos (the mob, murders, stolen cars, buried bodies?!) in which Finlay and Vero somehow always manage to find themselves.

In the fourth installment of of the Finlay Donovan series Finlay and her nanny/ partner-in-crime are headed to Atlantic City. With her ex husband and mother along too, there are lots of foils for our dynamic duo to overcome.

This series is a hoot. Against all odds Finlay tries to outwit loan sharks, rescue Vero’s boyfriend and find a wayward mob-owned car.

My favorite relationship is that of Vero and Finlay. The dialogue is exceptionally well done. Vero has me laughing and envious of her guile while Finlay’s reactions are equally funny.

This has become my new comfort series and I recommend it highly.

One caveat…this is a series best enjoyed in order.

Finlay and Vero’s friendship is the heart of these books. Their banter is funny and they have each other’s backs. The plot of this one was intense and wild, with their cop friends hovering too close to easily conduct their illegal activities. Finlay’s romance with Nick was steamy and he continues to be such a good hero that it’s easy to love him. I also really enjoyed learning more about Vero and Javi in this one, and seeing their romance develop.

There were several long-term storylines resolved in this book so I’m excited to see where things go from here.

Thanks to NetGalley and Minotaur Books for the ARC.

FINLAY DONOVAN ROLLS THE DICE

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I love this series so much. There is great moments of humor and its full of heart. This fourth book made me stressed though. At the beginning I found Finlay and Vero’s antics to be somewhat ludicrous. Some of their actions made me shake my kindle in frustration. But they were necessary choices in order for the plot to move forward and I liked how everything came together in the end.

Another hilarious installment of the Finlay Donovan series!! Vero and Finlay "girls weekend away" in Atlantic City with the kids, an ex husband and a mom while they try to rescue Javi and settle up Vero's debt! What could possibly go wrong?? Elle Cosimano could do no wrong with all these characters!! Excited for the next one already!

Excuse me? That ending?! What kind of cliffhanger was that?! This series has always been such a fun mix of lighthearted chaos, a touch of spice, and plenty of mystery—but this time, it took an unexpected turn into full-blown suspense! As always, I adored the dynamic between Finley Donovan and her ever-loyal (and slightly unhinged) nanny/accountant, Vero. Their banter and antics never fail to entertain, and the supporting cast adds even more charm, humor, and intrigue to the mix. This installment kept me hooked with its perfect balance of humor and tension, proving once again why this series is such an addictive read.

Luckily, I already have the next book lined up and ready to go because after that ending, there’s no way I’m stopping now! The mix of humor, mystery, and suspense makes this such a binge-worthy series, and I can’t wait to see what Finley and Vero get tangled up in next. If you love a mystery that doesn’t take itself too seriously but still delivers twists, turns, and laugh-out-loud moments, this series is a must-read.

How I Read It: 📱

Synopsis
Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is the 4th book in the Finlay Donovan series, and it’s just as much fun as the first 3.5 books! Finlay Donovan and her nanny/“accountant”/sidekick, Vero, are headed to Atlantic City for a “girls’ weekend,” but the truth is, they’re really going there to find Vero’s friend Javi who’s been kidnapped by a loan shark. A wrench gets thrown in their plans when Finlay’s ex-husband Steven says he needs to go with them because Finlay is not allowed to bring her kids over state lines without him, and then her mother says she’ll tag along too. Things get a lot worse when Finlay and Vero stumble upon two dead guys in a hotel room when trying to find Javi, and throw Cam and Nick’s cop friend Charlie into the mix with missing Aston Martin and you have a disastrous trip to Atlantic City. How will Finlay and Vero get themselves out of their mess this time?

My Thoughts
This book was action packed and so much fun. Finlay and Vero found themselves in a pickle on more than one occasion, some I really couldn’t see themselves getting out of, but their luck hasn’t run out yet! In this book we really start to see Vero’s true feelings for Javi surface, which I loved because after reading the last book, I was craving more of Vero and Javi! I’m a little skeptical if Finlay has feelings for Nick. Their chemistry seems off to me, and maybe that’s because of Finlay’s guilt from all her secrets she’s kept from him that could be holding her back from going into a full-on relationship with Nick. After the epilogue, I’m curious where their relationship will go in the next book. I’m hoping for a little more banter in the next book, fingers crossed on that, but all in all, it was a great book, and I’m starting the next one today because I can’t wait to see what trouble Finlay gets herself into next!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice. This fast-paced thriller tosses you right into a high-stakes game where every decision matters. Finlay Donovan is a charismatic risk-taker whose unpredictable journey keeps you on the edge of your seat. The narrative is energetic and brims with dark humor and nail-biting suspense. I especially enjoyed the quick, snappy dialogue that ramps up the tension, even if a few transitions felt a bit rushed. Overall, Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is an engaging, adrenaline-fueled read that's perfect for fans of edgy, character-driven thrillers.

3.5* In this addition to the series, we see more of Vero's development and more of Steven's. This was a nice change up from the previous books where it was all about Finlay. I would say this is one of the most action-packed/heart-racing books in the series which made it a quick and fun read.

Bonus .25 stars for featuring a dog :p

Thank you to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for a copy. This is out now!

Girls weekend in Atlantic City!…if anyone asks.

Of course nothing can ever be simple when it comes to Finlay and Vero, especially when you’re on a rescue mission where mob bosses are involved.

So it’s no surprise when they are joined in this adventure by not only the kids, but Finlay’s mom and Steven too, just for good measure.

I found this installment of the series to be fun, exciting, surprising and of course, hilarious. Who doesn’t laugh at a dachshund named Kevin Bacon who holds the keys to some answers everyone is looking for?

On to book five!

Thank you to NetGalley and Minotaur Books for providing me with a copy of this book!

Finlay Donovan does it again. Another round of hijinks and mayhem that pulls her in and, as always, her life adds all of the hilarious twists and turns. Seriously fun read that allows me to drift away from my own chaos and thoroughly enjoy hers. Great Book and Great Series!

Thank you Netgalley, Elle Cosimano and Minotaur Books for the opportunity to read this book. This was another "fun" adventure for Vero and Finlay, this "girls trip" isn't what you're expecting. I'm always excited to see what these girls get up to next in their messy and chaotic not-so-normal suburban life.

The suspension of disbelief gets stronger every time, but the capers are so silly and the vibes are so fun, that I am still enjoying myself. I liked getting to know Vero a little better in the 3.5 novella too. Keep them coming!

Finlay and Vero hit the road...AND I AM HERE FOR IT. All the chaos and awkwardness? It's just designed for calamity.

I really enjoyed this book. It kept me engaged and it only took a few days to read. I think this is going to be a good book club option for several clubs. I plan recommending to my book friends and I look forward to reading more by this author.

A trip to Atlantic City with Finlay and Vero, plus most of the rest of the gang to rescue Javi from the loan shark Marco and it is one wild road trip! Thankfully a few arcs from previous books are finally resolved (aka the Russian mob) and Finlay and Nick finally get a bit more together time! This one is definitely action packed, so it is great that Finlay doesn't have writer's block or need to write another ending, at least for a bit. Of course there are more dead bodies for Vero and Finlay to cover up, a car and boyfriend to locate and rescue, and a dirty cop to avoid along the way. I do admire how they can find themselves in a mess but manage to get out before getting caught. there is humor and silly situations as well as a bit of hot cop research, and getting to know Finlay's mother better.

So, while a few arcs are finished in this book, I really am looking forward to the next one to see what Mrs. Haggerty has been up to!

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice 🎲 🎰

Finlay Donovan and her partner-in-crime, Vero, need a break, so they head to Atlantic City. But it’s not all about fun—they’re secretly there to make a deal with a dangerous loan shark, save Vero’s crush Javi, and find a stolen car. Things get even messier when Finlay’s ex-husband Steven and her mom tag along, making it impossible to have any peace. Finlay has to juggle family drama, a dead body, and a hot cop, all while trying to get out of town in one piece.

This is my favorite nosey rosey mystery series! I love Vero and Finlay. They are both hilarious in some parts. I really liked the casino setting—it made the story feel exciting. The mystery and "whodunit" kept a good pace and kept me hooked. Finlay and Vero are always getting into some kind of trouble, which made it even more fun to read because you never knew what they are into next.
