Elle Cosimano has done it again with Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice! I'm a BIG fan of the series having read the 3 previous books and I was so excited to get an ARC for this one. The character development through the series has been wonderful--every character in this book is thoughtfully created and the storyline just flows. The sarcastic witty banter continues to make me laugh out loud. I was happy some of the loose ends from the first 3 books were resolved in this one and yet we were left with another cliffhanger! Elle keeps throwing in more twists and turns for Finlay and Vero and I'm here for it!
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press/Minotaur Books for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Oh Finlay… How in the world do you get yourself into these messes?
Another super fun installment in the Finlay Donovan series. It’s full of quirks and comebacks, dire situations and horrendous smells.
I hope Finlay can get her life together (and with a certain sexy man) soon! Though the epilogue has me questioning if she ever will.

When I tell you that I squealed when I saw my approval for this on Netgalley. Thank you to St. Martin's Press and Netgalley for the ARC of. this hilarious book. The Finlay Donovan series is one of my favorites, and this one did not disappoint.
Once again, Vera and Fin find themselves in the craziest situations. This book literally had me laughing out loud at certain points as these two woman jumped head first into the world of loan sharks and mafia gangs. Fin and Vera go to Atlantic City to rescue Javi, and end up bringing the whole family along (Steven included). Every time you think they've got the situation handled, something wild ends up happening to them again. This one was surprisingly touching in the way that Vera and Fin bonded. Their friendship is a real bond, and Fin's Mom was such a cute addition to their little group.
I'd be remiss not to mention our favorite Detective, Nick. He's definitely one of the good ones and he and Fin have the sweetest relationship. I'm hoping some things happen later in the series, but I won't say anything specific as not to spoil.
I truly thought this was the end of the series, but the ending was another surprise that I cannot wait to see where it goes. If you love this series, you will love this one too!
I will be posting a review on my Bookstagram page (@rattlethepages) in the coming week.

Rated 2.5 (rounded up)
I really enjoyed the first book in this series, but I lost some interest in books 2 and 3. I was thankful that this tied up loose ends that have been around since the beginning. My lower rating mostly pertains to my feelings about how everything was resolved and who was held responsible. I just wasn't satisfied with the ways certain characters took accountability (or often didn't for their actions). I love that Finlay and Nick love each other, but it was stressful to me how many secrets remained in their relationship.
Thank you Netgalley for an ARC edition of this book in return for an honest review.

I was so excited to receive an advanced copy of this book, the 4th book in one of my favorite series, and I was not disappointed! Finlay and Vero are back at it, this time in Atlantic City to help Vero clear up a sticky situation with a loan shark. As with the other books in the series, they are not stand alone but rather a continuation.
I love the perfect combination of thrill, crime, and comedy in this series. The style reminds me a lot of Dead To Me on Netflix. I'm looking forward to and hopeful for a 5th installment in this series!

Yesss! Give me Finlay and Vero in Jersey all day long. They’re the best escape for some humor and excitement. Love this series so much. Just flat out goofy, mystery and fun.

Finlay and Vero are back at it, solving crimes while making us laugh out loud! In this installment they travel to Atlantic City to clear Vero’s name with a dangerous loan shark, find Javi, and locate the stolen Aston Martin. As usual, nothing goes as planned and the duo finds themselves in an unbelievable mess. I absolutely love this series and this book didn’t disappoint. Just when you think the ending will be tied up in a nice little bow, the author throws in another twist with cliff hanger ending that left me itching with anticipation for the 5th book!
Thank you to the author, NetGalley, and St.Martin’s Press for an advanced electronic copy of this book.

The fourth book in such a great series takes a trip to Atlantic City, as it picks right up where things left off in #3. The amount of anxiety I felt reading this 😅 as Finlay, a mom and romance author, and Vero, Finlay’s kids’ nanny, continue to get caught up in all the shenanigans. I liked that this one let us see a softer side of Vero, while still showcasing her badass, tough as nails personality. And I can’t decide if Finlay is the ultimate super sneak, or if Nick, Finlay’s cop love interest, is in denial - or both? Either way, I’m so excited to see what mess they get into next!
PS for those wondering, I would definitely recommend reading this series in order - you don’t want to miss a single adventure!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Oh my goodness what a wild and crazy fun ride! I have enjoyed this series so much and it seems like it may be set up for a 5th book!
Finlay and Vero just can’t seem to stay out of trouble. This book picks up directly after the last book. They are running and hiding from bad guys and trying to find Vero’s childhood friend who was kidnapped.
The hilarity of the situations these two find themselves in will leave you laughing out loud.

This is the fourth Findlay book. It’s fun, BUT, it’s not a stand alone book. Like Stephanie Plum, the reader has to know the characters or get lost. Honestly, I feel this should probably end this series since there should be limits on the number of bodies and subplots.
This is a great way to end, with a visit to Atlantic City. The characters are likable and the writing crisp, but time to move on.
Thank you Netgalley for another romp.

Finlay and Vero take a trip to Atlantic City (and for some reason bring their whole family and Finlay's cop boyfriend and his crew tag along?) More madcap murder comedy ensues. Loan sharks, stolen cars, fancy hotel rooms, dead bodies, and secrets- all the things you'd expect from Finlay and her crew.
This wasn't necessarily my favorite Finlay Donovan book, but I continue to think how brilliant Cosimano is at her books sticking to somewhat of a formula, but with different dilemmas and creative settings that actually make sense for her story. This series gets an endorsement from me, and I love seeing what zany things will happen when Finlay is around.
Thank you to Netgalley for the advance copy for review.

This book was so fun! I really enjoyed this installment in the series. Finlay was as entertaining as ever. I like how her character seems to have matured along with the books. There were many funny scenes, and I love the friendship between Finn and Vero. I'm glad to have learned more about Vero in this book. The plot was fast moving and kept me interested. I look forward to the next one!
Thanks to Net Galley for the book to review.

Thanks to NetGalley for my gifted copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion and review.
Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is the fourth installment in this series.
In this adventure, we find Vero and Findley heading out on the road for a girls trip! Destination: Atlantic City! This book doesn’t miss a beat and is seamless in its continuation of the story of book 3. Hijinks ensue and the girls embark on a thrilling ride of kidnapping, stolen money, the mob, a hotel wedding, and Kevin Bacon! So fun! 4.5 stars rounded up!

Once I was finally able to sit down and focus solely on this one I loved it!
Roar trip to Atlantic City with the entire fam!! So many dead bodies hahaha
Also that ending!! I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Finlay Donovan and her nanny/partner-in-crime Vero are in sore need of a girls’ weekend away. They plan a trip to Atlantic City, but odds are―seeing as it’s actually a cover story to negotiate a deal with a dangerous loan shark, save Vero’s childhood crush Javi, and hunt down a stolen car―it won’t be all fun and games. When Finlay’s ex-husband Steven and her mother insist on tagging along too, Finlay and Vero suddenly have a few too many meddlesome passengers along for the ride.
These books just keep getting better and better. Finlay and Vera are my heroes!

3.5/5 stars
I really enjoyed this book! This is probably my second favorite book after the first Finlay Donavan book.
The writing is quirky, clever, and it sucks you in. I will say there was a lull after the third book, but this one brought the action and energy back. It did leave on a cliffhanger, so I am interested to see where it's going. Each book is essentially on a rinse and repeat cycle and has the same formula. Some parts were just ridiculous and unrealistic, but that would be my only complaint. All in all, this brought the energy back!

The dynamic duo is back! I had so much fun joining Finlay and Vero on their next excursion. This installment takes them to Atlantic City which was such a fun setting. Having visited AC several times, it was such a treat to really get a sense of the setting from this perspective. There were several laugh out loud moments and of course situations that you just cannot believe these two have gotten themselves into. I enjoyed this book a lot and I love Finlay and Vero more and more each time.
Thank you to NetGalley & St. Martin's Press for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!
This review will be posted on Goodreads and on my IG page @thebookafigtionado.

Another wonderful adventure for single-mom extraordinaire Finlay Donovan. This time, Finlay's adventures take her to Atlantic City along with her trusty nanny/accountant/partner-in-crime Vero, but this time they're also joined by Finlay's mother, her two young children, and her ex-husband, none of whom are aware of the real reasons that Finlay and Vero need to go to New Jersey. Finlay and Vero continue to find themselves in both hilarious and harrowing situations, all in an effort to stop mob boss Feliks and rescue a loved one that's been kidnapped.
I picked up the first Finlay Donovan book on a whim and immediately fell in love with this character and have enjoyed every adventure. All I can say is that I hope that a 5th book is in the works!
Thank you to Elle Cosimano, St. Martin's Press, and NetGalley for an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I’ve read every Finlay book and each one is just as fun as the next. If you need something to change up your reading moods, these books will always do the trick!
One does have to wonder, how many times Finlay can be around dead bodies while dating a police officer and being related to one. 🤪 will she ever confess, I don’t know!
This story had a bit of cursing in it, a little bit of closed door discussion, but never descriptions.
They are in Atlantic City, so you will find things like strippers and gambling, drinking and mention of drugs.
One thing I haven’t loved about these books are how children are mentioned. They are just left to wait around for their mom to “save the world”. I feel like the children’s and ex- husband characters are written a little poorly and Inconvenient almost.

Team Finlay forever. 🎲 These books are just so much fun and I can’t get enough of them. Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice picks up right where the third book left off (so you might want to give yourself a quick refresher before picking this one up in March). I will say this book was all over the place at times but I do feel that Elle Cosimano does a great job tying it all together. The ending (this one especially) always leaves me wanting more. And I guess that is the goal, right? The characters are so fun to read about and learn more about. These books are ones that I could absolutely see myself picking up and reading a few times.
Do I need to know more about certain characters in this book? Absolutely.
Will I read the next book? No doubt about that one.
Will I buy the fourth book even though I just read an early copy? Duh.
Do I need Elle Cosimano to sign a copy of the fourth book for me since all my others are signed by her? I think so.
Thank you to St. Martin’s Press on NetGalley for the advanced reader copy in return for an honest review. Keep me in mind for book 5! 😉
