Synopsis:
Finlay Donovan and her nanny/partner-in-crime Vero are in sore need of a girls’ weekend away. They plan a trip to Atlantic City, but odds are―seeing as it’s actually a cover story to negotiate a deal with a dangerous loan shark, save Vero’s childhood crush Javi, and hunt down a stolen car―it won’t be all fun and games. When Finlay’s ex-husband Steven and her mother insist on tagging along too, Finlay and Vero suddenly have a few too many meddlesome passengers along for the ride.

Thoughts:
Loved it. No notes!

Totally laugh out loud at Finlay and Vero's antics. Glad to see that we were back to the adventures we loved in books 1 and 2.

In the past, I'd never read the Finlay Donovan novels by Elle Cosimano. I missed reading the first, and then the second one caught my eye, but I felt I should read the first before reading it and just didn't. Over and over, the newest one would catch my eye but I would not read it. Recently, the fifth one did the same thing, but I was offered the opportunity to read and review all the preceding ones in one chunk.  That was all the incentive I needed. I was all in once I "got to know" the characters.  These novels are full of funny, laughable moments and memorable characters set in a cozy mystery setting. These reminded me of my younger years and reading Nancy Drew, and more recently, reading Janet Evanovich. Can you read any one of them as a stand-alone? Sure, but why?  I highly recommend you read them in order as a set and plan to pick up the future ones as they come out. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with the ARC ebook I read and reviewed. All opinions are my own.

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice by Elle Cosimano
A road trip with your sidekick super hero nanny, kids in tow!
What can I say? The journey continues. This one has the ladies handling a kidnapping, stolen car full of bullet holes, and Karma shows up in a big way.
Dead bodies and diapers seem to find Finlay around every turn. A road trip to Atlantic City for a girls’ weekend lands them in trouble again, only this time Finlay’s mom and her ex-husband are in tow.
This is truly a lighthearted fun escape to just enjoy and laugh with a mystery. Finlay and Vero are awesome! This is #4 in the series and I have enjoyed every one of them!
While a lot of this story is far fetched and fickle with ,more luck than humanly possible, it is very entertaining and keeps your attention. The characters are quirky and relatable and they just work together. Loved it! 4/5⭐️
I would like to thank NetGalley for the opportunity to view the series.

I always enjoy a Finlay and Vero adventure, this time it takes place in Atlantic City, a city where they get into a lot of trouble. They are desperately trying to rescue Javi, Vero’s first love, find a missing Aston Martin, and not upset too many mob bosses along the way. Many characters go along for the zany adventurous ride, including Finlay’s ex-husband, her mom, her kids, and her current detective boyfriend, Nick. This book was hilarious (dark humor) and fast-paced, it also has a few twists and turns along the way. I really enjoy a Finlay book in between some more serious reads, it’s usually good for several laugh-out-loud moments. I really hope that one of the Finlay novels eventually gets adapted for TV, it would make for a hilarious show.

3.5 stars

As with all series like this, things are starting to get redundant. It was nice to have our characters in a different setting though.
It is still a fun series just not one to read back to back. More of a pallet cleanser from other reading materials.

3.5 Stars • "Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice" by Elle Cosimano is the fourth book in the Finlay Donovan series. Like the other books in this series it is chock-full of slapstick humor, has a fast-paced plot, and unforgettable characters. The novel continues the adventures of Finlay Donovan and her nanny Vero, featuring a trip to Atlantic City under the guise of a girls' weekend, which is actually a cover for various misadventures including dealing with a loan shark, rescuing a kidnapped friend, and searching for a stolen car.

Ok I liked this one! I think it helped that they traveled and so there was a different setting for all the shenanigans. I also liked how the mom was involved in this one and that Nick wasn’t as much of a jerk.

I will say from book to book it feels like hopping into the next adventure without taking a break no matter how I space out the reads.

Hard to talk about this book without giving spoilers for the last one, but I'm glad this one picks up right where the previous book ended. I love this whole crew and can't wait to tag along for the rest of the ride!

This series keeps you locked in from page one. The characters are great you can't help but root for them. They have a crazy way of finding trouble. While the subject matter is very serious the main characters have a unique way of keeping you laughing. I can't wait for the next book.

'Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice' by Elle Cosimano is the 4th installment in the series. Finlay and Vero are back, and aided by some old friends as they search for Vero's kidnapped childhood friend and face off with a loan shark who Vero owes money to. Finlay is kept on her toes by her mother, ex-husband, current boyfriend, and the Russian mob.

This book carries on the madcap tradition of Finlay Donovan, always stumbling into and out of trouble. One needs to suspend disbelief in this book, particularly as Finlay seems to be able to develop a detailed and completely off the wall plan at the drop of a hat. I feel like in past installments, she was more likely to stumble into a solution, or rely on her writing research. This time around, she seems to just think and spit out a solution.

Thank you to Minotaur Books and Elle Cosimano for the ARC of 'Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice' in exchange for an honest review.

Finlay Donovan and her partner-in-crime Vero go to Atlantic City for a girls' weekend, but it turns into a dangerous mission to save Vero's crush and recover a stolen car. Things become complicated when Finlay's ex-husband and mother join the trip. They must negotiate with a loan shark, but things take a dark turn when they find the loan shark dead. With the police looking for answers and personal issues mounting, Finlay must navigate a complex web of secrets and lies to survive...

This book, like all the others in the series, is filled with humor, wit, and that signature Finlay charm! It delivers everything I anticipated from this entertaining series, with nonstop action and quirky occurrences that keep you hooked. The tension between Finlay and the cop is escalating, we get to catch up with Cam, and rest assured, Ms. Haggerty will have her moment in the last book.

If you're a fan of Stephanie Plum books, this is a must-read that will transport you into a world of laughter and excitement. So, grab your cozy blanket, settle in, and immerse yourself in this captivating story, because there's one more book waiting for you!

I appreciate how these books leave no stone unturned, providing answers to all the questions that arise. They are lively, spirited, and an absolute delight to read. A perfect gift for anyone who appreciates life's humor in the most unexpected ways.

Thank you, St. Martin's Press | Minotaur Books for the digital ARC copy. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

*Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice* by Elle Cosimano is another witty, fast-paced adventure that fans of the series will love. Finlay’s life continues to spiral in hilarious and unexpected directions as she finds herself deeper into her accidental crime-solving career. Cosimano’s trademark humor, clever twists, and endearing characters make this a truly fun read. The stakes are higher, the laughs are plentiful, and Finlay’s charm and relatability keep the pages turning. If you're looking for a delightful mix of suspense and comedy, this book delivers in spades!

This book picks up right after the events of book 3, as Finlay and Vero prep to go to Atlantic City to find Javi and their stolen car. All of the books so far have been a little to crazy and over the top to believe but this one takes the cake. The mishaps they got into (and out of) we so silly and super over the top, this is the first time in the series I found it to be a little annoying. Overall the plot is still fun but we're veering further and further into the impossible to take region. The romances in the book are still super fun and I really enjoyed that aspect of the plot. Steven is still one of my least favourite characters of all time but I was expecting a little more digging into his criminal behaviour. Again the book ends in a way that everything is neatly wrapped up and them BAM, a new mishap that will take us into the next book. I still had a fun time reading but I almost feel like we're heading to the end of the series, I really cannot imagine what else Finlay can accidently get involved with...

Thanks to St. Martins Press, Elle Cosimano and NetGalley for this e-ARC that I chose to read and review.
