Welcome to Atlantic City. Finlay, Vero, and the family travel to New Jersey in search of Javi, who is captured by a loan shark, who ends up dead. They have to deal with officers in close proximity and Finlay's parents while trying to solve the murder. Story ends on a cliffhanger back in Northern Virginia.

Spicy and I loved this one so much. I’m a big follower of Finlay and her escapades and am always ready for her next adventure. These characters and hilarious and the unfolding of this story kept me turning pages.

As always, thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for this copy in exchange for my honest review.

One of my favorite series and maybe my second favorite of the series? The last one got a little unbelievable to me, but this was reined it in a little (though still a bit out there). I feel like the characters are all pretty established by this point and it's almost a "comfort" read

Thank you to NetGalley and St Martins Press for the ARC!

Synopsis: 'Finlay Donovan and her nanny/partner-in-crime Vero are in sore need of a girls’ weekend away. They plan a trip to Atlantic City, but odds are―seeing as it’s actually a cover story to negotiate a deal with a dangerous loan shark, save Vero’s childhood crush Javi, and hunt down a stolen car―it won’t be all fun and games. When Finlay’s ex-husband Steven and her mother insist on tagging along too, Finlay and Vero suddenly have a few too many meddlesome passengers along for the ride.

Within hours of arriving in their seedy casino hotel, it becomes clear their rescue mission is going to be a bust. Javi’s kidnapper, Marco, refuses to negotiate, demanding payment in full in exchange for Javi’s life. But that’s not all―he insists on knowing the whereabouts of his missing nephew, Ike, who mysteriously disappeared. Unable to confess what really happened to Ike, Finlay and Vero are forced to come up with a new plan: sleuth out the location of Javi and the Aston Martin, then steal them both back.

But when they sneak into the loan shark’s suite to search for clues, they find more than they bargained for―Marco's already dead. They don’t have a clue who murdered him, only that they themselves have a very convincing motive. Then four members of the police department unexpectedly show up in town, also looking for Ike―and after Finlay's night with hot cop Nick at the police academy, he’s a little too eager to keep her close to his side.

If Finlay can juggle a jealous ex-husband, two precocious kids, her mother’s marital issues, a decomposing loan shark, and find Vero’s missing boyfriend, she might get out of Atlantic City in one piece. But will she fold under the pressure and come clean about the things she’s done, or be forced to double down?'

Review: The action never stops! I love it! I don't find this series to be drawn out or even outlandish. I think it's a fun series that shouldn't be taken too seriously. After reading the novella about Vero I just came to love this duo even more. And Nick is absolutely precious we must protect him at all costs!!!

I love this series so much! The books keep getting more and more ridiculous but are just so fun and entertaining. I will say that I didn’t love the Atlantic City setting and this is the first time I struggled to remember characters/plot points from past books. But I’m glad we get to keep following Finlay and her crazy crew!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC, I cannot wait to read the next installment!

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice by Elle Cosimano
Rating (5/5) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Elle Cosimano does it again! I love the Finlay Donovan series! I can’t get enough of Finn and Vero’s adventures. So clever, fun and mysterious! Finn and Vero are a modern day Lucy & Ethel. Can’t wait until book 5 - Finlay Donovan Digs Her Own Grave - I wish Netgalley would have approved my request…

Not my favorite installment in this series, but I'd still read another one. I think at this point it needs a new plot thread to add momentum.

I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy this book as much as I did the first one, but it was surprisingly good! I always get a kick out of the books in this series. It's fun watching Finlay fumble her way through life and this series of unfortunate events! Finlay in the first book was so relatable, but as the series goes on and her life keeps spiraling, she has to take more risks to protect her family and loved ones, but she's become a lot more reckless and erratic.

While I enjoy the fun that comes from all the craziness that Finlay has gotten herself into, I also find the situations to be over-the-top, but in a fun way. Nothing can compare to the first book when everything had me gasping because I just could not believe what was happening! Now, it's almost like "yeah, of course this would happen to Finlay." You have to really appreciate the over-the-topness to appreciate this story. They are wild and highly unbelievable, but once you throw belief out the window, you can have a great time reading these books. The situations are always hilarious and chaotic, and I find myself laughing out loud throughout all the books in the series.

This one is for the people who love a lighter mystery! It's fast paced and fun!

*Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice* by Elle Cosimano is a thrilling, laugh-out-loud mystery that kept me hooked from start to finish. Finlay’s chaotic, yet endearing, life continues to spiral as she navigates a tangled web of crime, danger, and humor. The witty banter and clever plot twists make for an incredibly entertaining read. Cosimano perfectly blends suspense with light-hearted moments, and Finlay’s growth as a character is both heartwarming and relatable. With its unpredictable twists and charming characters, this book is a must-read for fans of cozy mysteries with a touch of adventure. Highly recommended!

The 4th installment of Finlay and Vero’s shenanigans are in full force while in Atlanta to find out who had the hit out for her ex husband. With basically her whole family tagging along they couldn’t get themselves into that much trouble…….right? I am here for everything Finlay and Vero they are such a un and exciting duo that I just can’t put thees books down. I can’t wait to read the next one.

Thank you to netgalley for an arc.

“Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice” was such a fun continuation of the Finlay Donovan series! Every time I think Finlay and Vero can’t get into crazier situations, Elle Cosimano says watch me. I laughed so much throughout this book! I always laugh at Finlay and Vero’s banter and their dynamic, and the humor of this book was enhanced by moms, sisters, kids, ex-husbands and the entire police department. Follow Finlay and Vero on another hilarious adventure, this time to Atlantic City - what can go wrong?

Unfortunately Finlay Donovan has lost me in this installment. I think this is mostly on me - the books have been trending more exaggerated and they’re finally reached the breaking point where I can’t enjoy them so much anymore. Great for those who already are excited about it!

Once again Finlay Donovan has gotten herself in a bigger mess than the one she was trying to get out of!
This is the fourth book in the series and it is delightful as the first three.
I’ve already ordered the fifth one!

4.5 stars!

Another great twisty turnt novel from Elle Cosimano. A story that keeps you guessing, and characters that make you deeply invested, book 4 of this series keep the story going at a million miles per hour.

This book was un-put-down-able. With flawed, but lovable characters, believable and exciting twists, and an overall deeply well planned out story and lore, this book hit on every level.

Highly recommend this book, and the entire series, and can’t wait for the next installment!

This is book four in the Finlay Donovan series and it doesn't disappoint. The roller-coaster action starts on the first page. Finlay and her nanny Vero, find themselves headed for Atlantic City. What was intended as a "girl's week-end" hits the skids when Finlay's mother and her ex tag along. Vero's ex Javi is in danger and their plan to save him runs into a roadblock when his kidnapper refuses to negotiate. The action is non-stop, the dialogue is hysterically funny and this is the most thoroughly enjoyable mystery you've ever read. Highly recommend, especially for fans of Janet Evanovich.
