Note: I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. Thank you, NetGalley and publishers.

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is the fourth in the series. Finlay is once again head over heels in a mess only she can get herself out of, with plenty of help from beloved recurring characters. A weekend in Atlantic City with Vero gets complicated before Finlay even drives out of town. Steven, her kids and her mom have all invited themselves along. And that’s just the beginning! This weekend will be Finlay’s biggest gamble yet!

Thank you St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for the complimentary e-ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book takes us to Atlantic City as Finlay and Vero follow the stolen car which had Javi in it. Vero has to deal with her old debts in order to get her childhood crush back.

This book has more for the readers to giggle about - absurd situations with crazy solutions.

Summary
Finlay and Vero are at it again, but this time they’re headed to Atlantic City with Finlay’s children, her mom, and her ex-husband. Book 4 picks up where book 3 left off – with a ransom note and a plan to rescue a certain someone who has been kidnapped…

Thoughts
Vero and Finlay are the Lucy and Ethel of thrillers. They’re both a hot mess and it always leads to a crazy adventure. I love how as these two are getting themselves into trouble, they’re always trying to keep others out of it – sometimes they aren’t as successful as others. I also loved seeing some of the minor characters having bigger roles in book 4 to help tell the story and solve the mystery. All of the characters (even the unlikeable ones) are so loveable and add a lot to the Finlay Donovan series.

Recommend?
Would I recommend this? Absolutely! This series is a breath of fresh air after reading heavier, darker thrillers. I love being able to escape into the wild world of Finlay and Vero and see what trouble they find themselves in.

Loved it!! It's like everything that could go wrong did end up going wrong/ every obstacle you could think up actually ended up happening but Finlay and Vero still got through it all. The ending was so intriguing though, can't wait to find out what Ms. Haggerty's been up to lol

Another completely Outrageous and Unbelievable book, but a ton of Fun to read. I'm sad to be nearing the end of the thus far published series.

This episode, like the others, takes up right where the last one left off. Vero's childhood crush Javi is being held hostage by a certain loan shark who wants his money and to know what happened to his nephew (they are NOT going to tell him). So the ladies decide to pretend to have a girls weekend away in Atlantic City so they can find Javi, but - of course - Finlay's mother decides to tag along, and the next thing you know, Finlay's ex Steven as well as the kids are there as well. Gonna be tricky doing their sleuthing. Then Nick and a group of cops arrives to add to the mix. It is the usual chaos and exquisite timing of events as the previous stories. But those girls always get the job done. There just always seems to be so much to clean up afterwards. This series is holding up very well, always amusing and well plotted. The action is wild and crazy, and the romance is intensifying. Great fun.

Another super fun one! This series is just such a good time. I love how fast paced and funny it is. I love everyone so much and I’m happy Finlay’s Mom was in this one a little more because she’s great. I liked how everything came together in this one. I’m also so happy we got more romance for both Finlay and Vero 😍
I was wondering what the next book could even be about but after that epilogue I’m excited for it! I’m still curious about Steven and what he has going on so I’m hoping there’s some pieces of that in the next one 🤞

Finlay Donovan can do no wrong 🥹 these books are so easy to read and they snag you up and get you hooked. I have loved the whole series but this was a fabulous ending

Decided to DNF this series. Was super excited to see what all the hype was about and wanted to binge it but I just don't think the cozy mystery is the genre for me sadly, though I do totally get why other readers love it so much!

Easy breezy, super funny and cute. I’m completely invested in this series. Finley Donovan is hilarious. Kevin Bacon stole the show.

Excited to finally read these! Finlay Donovan is as good as everyone said it was, can't believe I waited this long.

Thanks to Netgalley for giving me a nudge in the form of free copies of previous books.

I love Finley and Vero, I will read anything with these two. This is book 4 and it takes us to Atlantic City to wrangle with a loan shark and try to save Veros friend. Very funny and a bit zany.

Finlay and Vero continue to try to get themselves out of trouble while just digging themselves further into a hole. As with previous entries in the series, there's tons of misunderstandings, too many "helpers" getting in the way and making things worse, and shenanigans...so many shenanigans. It's fun and crazy and I love the Javi content. On the less great side, the keeping secrets from the boyfriend storyline is starting to get old. I know it's a big part of the continuing story, but I'd like to see that resolve one way or the other.

If Elle Cosimano writes it, I will read it. Another great addition to such a fun and exciting series. Please keep these books coming!

Favorite Quotes:

“A parley?” he said, rubbing his watering eyes. “Who do you think you are, Jack Sparrow? This isn’t Pirates of the Caribbean.”

I leaned back against the wall between our rooms, sliding down it until I was sitting on the carpet. It was tacky and smelled like cigarettes and despair.

...that man has a very sexy voice. I think my panties are wet, and at my age, that’s really saying something. Put me on speaker.

Poker’s all about faking it, Finn. After eight years being married to Steven, you’ve got plenty of experience with that.

The woman pointed a long black fingernail at a chalkboard sign. PSYCHIC READINGS $ 25. PALM. TAROT. CRYSTAL BALL. “You want a reading?” she asked, affecting an accent that sounded a lot like my agent doing an impression of Count Chocula.

“There’s a very reasonable explanation for this,” I said calmly. “We just don’t know exactly what it is yet.”

My Review:

I gleefully bounced in my chair and frequently laughed aloud while I inhaled this amusing and cleverly penned series. I loved every well-chosen arrangement of words. Elle Cosimano is absolutely brilliant, and her Finaly Donovan creation is a gift. Poor Finaly, she was a semi-successful writer who had an ex-husband who couldn’t keep it in his pants and a toddler who refused to keep his pants on, or toilet train. Finaly was a hot mess.

Her adventures started with an inadvertent slip of paper on a Panera tray, which eventually led her to helping various women living in difficult situations who were “seeking a specialist with a certain skill set.” Finaly didn’t actually have the skill set, but she and Vero, her ever helpful nanny, kept managing to accidentally kill bad people, some they were supposed to, others just had the bad luck to die in their vicinity.

The engaging storylines were active, eventful, smartly plotted, and populated with a colorful cast of oddly compelling characters, many of whom were unlikable, yet quirkily and knowingly drawn. I downed six in a row and finished the last one hoping there are more to come.

Much thanks to Elle Cosimano, St. Martin's Press, and NetGalley for allowing me to read a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Loved it again! Never a dull moment. Set in Atlantic City but Cosimano figured out plausible reasons for all the characters to be present. Everyone's paired up,and while I like Nick, I feel bad for the guy. At the end he laments that he's been betrayed by two partners, the people he was supposed to trust most, and all I could think that he has a new partnership with Finn that's only going to get deeper and more burdened, and she's betraying him from the get-go. If he finds out her secrets in a bad way, the guy will never trust again. Poor dude. I wish Finn would come clean with him but I also don't see that ending well for her. Stupid lies. Stupid Steven for making her desperate.

Bring on book 5!

This series is never going to end and I'm here for it!

So far, this is my least favorite book of the series because this one was so outrageously silly.

This one picks up right after the events of the third book, and it follows Finn & Vero and their adventure in Atlantic City. They head to Atlantic City to find Javi, their stolen car and cut a deal with a loan shark. What follows is the chaos that only Finlay and Vero can muster.

After reading the first three books (my favorite so far is the third) I was excited to read this one. However, this one is my least favorite of the series (as mentioned above). I will continue reading this series because I love the hijinks and the relationship between Vero & Finn. I love that they seriously work together and get through literally EVERYTHING!
I did appreciate that this is a fun book, especially in the depressing world we are living in now.

I am currently almost done with the 5th book and this is one series I will read forever.

Finlay Donovan once again finds herself stuck in a conundrum. While pretending to be on a girls weekend road trip, Finlay and Vero are on their way to Atlantic City. But when roadblocks present themselves the dynamic duo double down and do what they’re best known for… just winging it and figuring it out! Will Finlay finally get caught, or will she slip under the radar once again?

This series is such a fun ride and I always enjoy watching where Elle Cosimano is going to take the characters next!

I love the whole Finlay Donovan series, it keeps me interested and laughing at the same time. I finished this one in one sitting because I had to know what was going to happen, and if she was going to be able to handle the problems that was thrown her way in this book.
