This series is going further and further off the rails. Parts of this book were so completely unbelievable. And yet, it’s so much fun! I hope we’re finished with the mob for a little while - they’re exhausting.

Loved this new adventure with Finley and Veronica. Just trying to figure how they keep finding themselves in bad to worse situations. Also love that the main character is a 30 something year old single mom. These books have you turning the page trying to see what they get themselves into next.

I love returning to the world of Finlay! Yet another one in the series where she knocked it out of the park! Cannot wait to finish the next ones!

This next installment in the Finlay Donovan series has Vero and Finlay headed to Atlantic City with some unwelcome visitors tagging along…her children, her mother and her ex husband. What could possibly go wrong? Except maybe her hot shot detective boyfriend showing up with a lead that the mob boss may be headed Finlay’s way!

The comedy of this series is seriously so much fun, I’m throughly enjoying the rapport between Vero & Finlay and how their friendship has blossomed into a sisterhood.

There’s a little more spice in this book than the others, but I still wouldn’t classify it as smut or a romance. It’s more of a comedy mystery book series . Highly recommend.

Finlay and her nanny/partner-in-crime Vero are in need of a girls’ weekend away. They take a trip to Atlantic City, to negotiate a deal with a dangerous loan shark, save Vero’s childhood crush Javi, and hunt down a stolen car. To make things even more interesting…Steven, Finlay’s ex and her mother insist on tagging along. Within hours of being there they realize that the rescue mission isn’t going to go as planned. Between the FBI showing up, finding dead bodies and a dog, will Finlay and Vero find Javi and the car and make it out of Atlantic City alive?

I really enjoyed this book and honestly this whole series. The antics and situations that Finlay and Vero get into are just hilarious. I laughed so much with the story. I honestly don’t just have one or two favorite characters…I love them all. I didn’t see one of the twist coming at the end.

This is the fourth book in the Finlay Donovan series. They should be read in order, as they pick up right where the previous one ends.

If you are looking for a good mystery then this series is for you. It kept me engaged the whole time.

At this point, I know exactly what I’m signing up for when I open a Finlay Donovan book—chaos, questionable decisions, and Veronica being the absolute best. And while this one wasn’t the strongest in the series, it was still a fun, fast read that let me turn my brain off and just enjoy the ride.

A bit all over the place. The stakes felt less exciting this time around, and some of the twists were more "oh, okay" than "OMG, WHAT?!" But honestly, I didn’t mind too much because the banter, ridiculous situations, and sheer Finlay-Veronica nonsense kept me entertained.

Is it the best book in the series? Nope. Did I still have a good time? Absolutely. Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is like a popcorn movie—maybe not the most memorable, but perfect when you just want to relax and have fun. And of course, I’ll still be here for the next one, because this hot mess express isn’t stopping anytime soon!

Another fun adventure with Finlay and Vero! This is book #4 in the series and book #5 just released!!

What can I say except if you are in the mood for a “Dead to Me” type series that includes a cat and mouse chase with the Russian mob, a series of unlikely events, a couple of dead bodies, quirky and sarcastic characters mixed with family drama, friendship, and some romance, what the heck are you doing not reading this fantabulous fun mystery series???

Go. Now. Not later. Now!!!

4 wine glasses! 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷

Highly recommend!!

Oh and I do recommend listening to all of the Finlay books, the narrator, Angela Dawe, is fantastic!!

Thank you to Negalley and St. Marten's Press for allowing to me an advanced copy. All thoughts are my own.

Another funny, laugh out loud edition to the Finlay Donovan series. This one felt like a little side story to the real main story of the series, but I still found myself flying through it. Excited for the next.

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is another great installment in the Finlay Donovan series. I loved the character growth we saw in this book.

This installment was still as engaging and hilarious as the others, but with slightly more character growth and some surprising character arcs.

I love this series and would recommend anyone looking for a hilarious, heart warming, engaging read. Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the complimentary Advanced Readers Copy. All opinions are my own.

Such a good time to be had by all! I love how this installment made a family vacation to a casino. And that Stephen finally started pulling his weight as a parent. Definitely a lot more character growth going on. Still hilariously fun! A short and funny side story prequel about Vero’s backstory before she came to be Finlay’s sidekick and partner in crime.

Thank you NetGalley, St Martins Press and Elle Cosimano for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Holy smokes, I was exhausted reading about Finlay and Vero’s adventures in this book.

There were a lot of characters and different “organizations” all overlapping and getting complicated. A few times I had to stop and think ‘who the F is that person’?!

I cannot believe how everything got so insanely messy and then how things ended up. It was A LOT going on but I liked it at the same time .

Finlay and Vero head to Atlantic City to confront the loan shark about Vero's debt. Except he is dead when they get there. Now to figure out who killed him and not get accused of the crime themselves.

A great installment to this fun series!

This one might be my favorite of the series so far. Finlay and Vero are ready to head for Atlantic City, in search of the Aston Martin, Javi, and the mob boss Vero owes. Through a series of events, they end up taking along both kids, Steven, and Finlay's mother on their "girls' trip."
What a week they have! Starts with more dead bodies, more mysteries and sleuthing, and a bunch of other people showing up during their vacation. Plus a good amount of sneaking away from people watching them, and lucky resolutions to bad problems.
There's plenty of Nick as his relationship with Finlay advances, Steven being Steven, and a bunch of suspense and humor. Atlantic City was the perfect setting for this book, and I loved it.

We're back on track to the best parts of Finaly's stories! I'm glad we got a small break from the cop drama and get way more Vero! The fact that they brought the children along to this "runaway/keep low" trip and I didn't find them completely annoying was a miracle in itself - I was really worried about that decision, but they were barely involved in the overall story/plot. I can't wait for the next in the series and I really hope it keeps with this upward momentum (and more Vero!).

I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley. Review based on final copy. All opinions are my own.
While I was enjoying Finlay and Vero’s adventures up to this point, the fact that Gavin, the BookTuber who recommended book one, began to enjoy them less and less, plus my general apathy with longer-running mystery/thriller series, led me to pulling back. All this, combined with book four coming out during the SMP boycott, led to me just not feeling all that invested. But I wanted a dose of fun and familiarity to break me out of my funk, and so I checked out Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice. And as I expected, it’s an absolute riot.
Finlay and Vero remain absolutely delightful, and the perfect partners in crime. I enjoyed seeing a more human side to their dynamic, with Finlay dealing with her insecurities around her career, as well as her worries about what would happen when Vero inevitably leaves her and moves on. It’s a solid emotional center to what is otherwise pure camp and ridiculousness.
And the story really is one wild thing after another. With a road trip with Finlay’s ex-husband and mother along for the ride, there’s some additional drama. Plus, while I remain rather underwhelmed by the romance subplot, it only adds to all of that. With all of that going on, there’s never a dull moment, and it’s truly fast-paced and non-stop shenanigans, not letting me go from start to finish.
This has renewed my interest in a series I wasn’t too sure about continuing, and I’m now excited to pick up the next installment! While I’d recommend starting at the beginning, I’d recommend the series to readers interested in wacky, fast-paced, and comedic thrillers.

Thank you Minotaur Books and NetGalley for the digital copy of Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice.

This book picks up right where the previous one left off and continues the same story lines. I always think the Finlay Donovan books are fun. I had a little bit of a hard time remembering all the details from the previous books even if though I read them not too long ago. There are a lot of characters, and sometimes I had a hard time keeping them all straight. I still enjoyed it though!

Finlay Donovan is a divorcee, single mother of two, writer of romantic suspense, and inadvertent criminal -but she always always has the best intentions and protecting her family is her #1 concern. She and her nanny & partner-in-crime, Vero, are headed to Atlantic City to try to negotiate with the loan shark Vero owes money to and who's enforcer disappeared after trying to shake Vero down. In order to keep all of this a secret from everyone else in their lives, they say they're going for a girl's weekend (with the kids), but next thing they know most of the people they're trying to keep this from are tagging along. Some of my favorite secondary characters from previous books make an appearance in this one, much to my delight. As with every book in this series, Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is packed with action and humor, crazy situations, and a bit of steamy romance. If you haven't read the earlier books in the series, I urge you to start at the beginning as there is a lot of carry-over between stories with some spoilers in later ones.

Another great book from Elle Cosimano. The banter and quick wit is something only she can produce. The way she writes her characters is truly unmatched. Loved this fast paced mystery, it was full of comedy and heart!

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice… Elle Cosimano

Finlay and Vero are at it again. They are pretending to go on a girls weekend so they can negotiate with a loan shark for Javi’s, vero’s childhood love, life. They also need to find a car. They can’t get away without Finlays mother and ex husband.. It gets even more packed when her sister, boyfriend and their partners also show up… Finlay will be lucky to get out of Atlanta alive or in handcuffs.

This installment had me on the kind of roller coaster I didn’t want to get off of! Finlay’s situation keeps getting worse and worse! She can’t seem to get free of the madness. The book keeps up the excellent reading pace and the layers in this book were a little more complex than in the other books. There is a lot going on and it was a nice change to have the book set in Atlanta. It felt more exciting. Steven is still not redeemed. I dislike him with venom. I am so in love with Vero and Javi. I need them to be the end game. They are the best kind of couple. It’s high passion and they irritate each other and it's the best. I laughed so much. The series just gets better and better in my opinion. Things are really heating up and I am dying… I do mean DYING for the next installment… Thank goodness I already have it on my kindle… WATCH THIS SPACE
