This book picks up right where we left off from the previous, after Finn and Vero leave the police academy.
The characters make this series great. I envy the level of friendship Finlay and Vero have, they would do anything for one another. This book was extremely fast paced and easy to read, the entire thing taking place over just a few days.
As much as I enjoy this series, this book veered into some really far fetched scenarios that have entertainment factor but for a suburban housewife? yeah, no. But that won't stop me from reading the next.

Finlay and Vero are on the road for a much needed girls trip to Atlantic City unfortunately they have a few extra unexpected travelers join them at the last minute. This is quick trip quickly turns into a rescue mission and places them in the middle of a crime scene. These two roommates always seem to end up in the wrong place and suffer the consequences. I loved this latest installment of Finlay Donovan. The characters are so well written and developed keeps you wanting more. I am so happy I found this series! Already looking forward to the next book.

I think this was book 4. Loved the characters and the continuation of this story line. Hilarious at times!

Another in the series. This time Finlay is in Atlantic City looking for Vero's boyfriend and hoping to avoid various crime bosses. I don't think this can be read as a standalone -- there are just too many ties to previous books. While these are entertaining, I began to lose interest. The storyline is just too preposterous. The intent is for humor, but at times it descends into just silly. This book seems to end the series in a satisfactory way. The series was a nice distraction, but I don't think I'll look for any more like it.

What was supposed to be a girls' trip to Atlantic City to save Vero's childhood love interest quickly turns into a family road trip complete with mom, kids, and an ex-husband. Soon characters from the past few books all seem to end up in Atlantic City. Finlay and Vero have to get creative and be extra sneaky this time.

This one had a lot going on, but it did wrap up some of the storyline. I liked that Finlay is finally figuring out and building on her various relationships. Another fun, quirky addition to the series.

Another engaging read but this time with new scenery! Finlay is doing her best to get herself out of another mess and hilarity ensues. Recommended for fans of the series. Thank you to the publisher for allowing me to read this e-galley!

This was a fun read and a great addition to the series. It progressed some storylines and wrapped up others. I really liked the position it left the series in and I'm looking forward to reading the next book. The prologue was great. I'm so curious where the next book will go with it.

In this 4th book of the series, Finlay and Vero are headed to Atlantic City claiming that it's for a well-needed girls weekend. They're actually going there to try to finagle a deal to get Javi back and find the stolen Aston Martin. They didn't plan for Steven (Finlay's ex-husband) and Finlay's mom to add themselves to the entourage and that just makes everything even more complicated. Once again, Finlay and Vero encounter a dead body during their adventures. On top of that, Finlay's hot cop Nick, his ex-partner Charlie, her sister Georgia, and her sister's new girlfriend Sam (who's also a cop) have now joined them in AC. Just like in books 1-3, there's lot of hijinx and laugh-out-loud moments. I look forward to book #5. Thanks to #netgalley and #minotaurbooks for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

These books are always such a fun time! They’re over the top and ridiculous, but that’s what makes them great!!

I do keep waiting for them to get caught though😂 will they ever pay for all the ruckus they’ve caused?!

I love the Finlay Donovan series so much! Every book just seems to get better and better as Finlay takes on new things. I like that in this one we also got to see a lot of Vero’s life and Javi. As always the writing was well done and the storyline really pulled you in. I could read this series forever.

The fourth novel of this series was just as exciting as the first four books and I enjoyed being able to see a different side of Finlay, a side where she is forced to take some accountability for her role in all that has happened. The growth is appreciated and I look forward to seeing where she goes from here!

THIS IS THE FINLAY DONOVAN I FELL IN LOVE WITH!

I had so much fun with this book! It was just as outlandish as the last book but it felt like it had its spark back. I’m so happy Vero & Javi are finally together! I’ve been waiting for that since book 1!

🎲 QUICK SUMMARY
Another ridiculous, hilarious, adventurous installment. Finlay and Vero find out that Javi (and the Aston Martin) have been abducted and taken to Atlantic City. As they prepare to give chase, it becomes a family affair. They have to take the kids, Steven insists on coming since the kids can’t cross state borders per their custody agreement, and why not have Finlay’s mom tag along too?

💭 MY THOUGHTS
This one felt more fast paced and had more laugh-out-loud scenarios. (Chubbies… #iykyk) Just when you think things will start wrapping up, a new character comes forward to complicate things, or a piece of evidence is discovered the Finlay and Vero have to hide. The only thing I didn’t like is that this one felt a bit more chaotic. I had to suspend my disbelief quite a bit. Could they REALLY sneak out and secretly meet up or hide something 50+ times without there being evidence all over the place? How do their excuses keep working? How are they never caught? This is definitely the type of story where you don’t ask too many questions and just enjoy the wild ride.

The paperback just came out on 1/28. I’m excited to read the next, new installment publishing in early March.

This series is starting to get a bit tedious. If you haven’t yet, I will always recommend Book 1 of the Finlay Donovan series, maybe even book 2. They’re outrageous and unrealistic and hilarious and just a good time. Especially book 1. But they’re starting to ride their course a little bit - I either need some new plot lines or a new duo.

While this is my least favorite in the series thus far, it was still a fun read. I thought this one was the most far fetched (which is wild knowing the premise of this series).

Picking up DIRECTLY where the last book stopped, Finlay and Vero arrive home after the drama at the police academy only to turn around and run off to Atlantic City. Vero's childhood friend/bestie/crush has been taken, and Fin and Vero are going to go get him back. But Finlay's ex refuses to let the kids go out of state without him, and her mom insists on coming to help with the kids. So the whole motley crew pack up and drive.

There are so many tangled bits that start to get resolved in this book, and Fin and Vero get up to such goofy antics, it's a wonder they don't get themselves killed. If any of this was real, these ladies would have gotten offed 18 different ways.

This was a great continuation of the story. There's a few things that were big surprises that resolve some of the overarching plots of the series.

I'm really hoping those plastic rings stay put though. THAT was a fun twist.

I'm looking forward to the last book of the series. It'll be fun.

I received a copy via NetGalley in return for sharing my thoughts on this book. Thanks to the author and publisher for this opportunity!

Another wild ride with Finley and Vero. I love having characters to root for and seeing these two succeed more than most things in life.

4.5 stars

After being a little disappointed in Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun, I reluctantly picked up the next book in the series.

And was I pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it! It brought back the right mix of wacky adventures and heartfelt moments that were missing for me in book 3.

In Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice, the whole family packs up and heads to Atlantic City. What follows is a zany blend of dead loan sharks, planned thefts, strip clubs and crazy 60’s costumes. The first third was a bit slow-going, but after our crew gets to the hotel, the story takes off from there.

The last half of the book was non-stop action, lots of funny moments and an exciting and satisfying conclusion.

I appreciated that a lot of the plot threads in this series wrapped up nicely. In fact, I was a little curious as to where book 5 would take us. And then I read that final page and thought, “Oh, this is going to be juicy!”

Needless to say, I’m VERY much looking forward to reading Finlay Donovan Digs Her Own Grave!

*Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the digital arc.

Just when you think Finlay's life can't get any more complicated and out of control....she says "Here, hold my beer." LOL. When one thing finally is under control, another things pops out and throws a monkey wrench into some much deserved peace. A road trip to Atlantic with Vero, the kids, her mom AND her ex-husband is clearly not the peace she was looking for. All kinds of hijinks ensue and we may finally see some resolution to the crazy past few months. Or will we? Still some secrets to be revealed (WHAT IS that book that Steven is hiding?) and OMG Poor Mrs. Hagerty. Stay tuned.

When Finlay Donovan's involved a girls weekend in Atlantic City isn't going to be simple in fact chaos is indeed going to happen. I have haven't laughed so much with a mystery book sense I finished the Stephanie Plum series.
