I was surprised with the sincerity of this book. It was actually really lovely. A hard read in places as of course, maternity and infertility is a very difficult topic to deal with, but I think the author dealt with the subject matter effectively and sensitively. The characters were both quite likeable and I wanted the best for them both.

The writing in this book is absolutely awful- it was a slog to get through and certainly was not worth the effort

Junk Love
A Novel
by Abilene Potts
The book was good. I thought it was some totally cozy mystery.NOPE, it was really about choices and pretty deep.I would read it again.

"Junk Love" by Abilene Potts appears to be a heartfelt and thought-provoking novel that delves into the complexities of relationships, faith, and the sacrifices we make for love.

The story revolves around Holly Samuelsson, a dietitian who is all about making healthy choices in life. However, when it comes to her personal life, she's faced with a dilemma: should she continue on her path towards single motherhood through in-vitro fertilization or adoption, or should she take a chance on love, even if it means repeating past mistakes?

Cora Martin, another central character, has her own challenges to overcome, including caring for her mentally ill sister and navigating a false accusation. Her journey intersects with Holly's, and together, they must grapple with questions of trust, love, and what it truly means to care for someone.

The book's exploration of these themes promises to be both relatable and poignant. It seems to offer a narrative that encourages readers to ponder the choices they make in their own lives and the impact those choices have on the people they care about.

The author's touch of humor and relatable analogies, such as the mention of Jell-O salad with hot dogs and the raisin versus chocolate debate, suggest that "Junk Love" might be a story that combines depth with moments of levity, making it an engaging and emotionally resonant read.

In summary, "Junk Love" seems to be a novel that invites readers to reflect on the complexities of love, sacrifice, and the pursuit of happiness. With relatable characters and a unique blend of humor and depth, it holds the promise of being a compelling and thought-provoking story.
