Very engaging, with relatable characters. And I seriously loved the way the relation was built between the main characters, I could not help but swoon

This is definitely my new favorite of the series so far. Something about Ferne and Theo’s story really had me hooked from the start.

Ferne’s tale has been on a slow build up to this book, where she finally takes the leap and heads to Skye. After being raised to believe that she will be disowned by her London family and hated by the Skye druids by stepping foot there, it’s taken all her courage just to go. Once she arrives, she follows her instincts and they lead her to Theo. Theo is in a weird position where he straddles the line between humans on the isle and the druids. With this weird murderous fog/mist attacking druids, he needs to solve the case to satisfy both parts of his life - as a cop and Druid.

Ferne and Theo meet with fireworks and it only gets better from there. Somehow Ferne was able to talk mind-to-mind to a Druid there and she is all in on using anything she can to help defend these people. It even goes so far as to endangering her life and going against her brother’s wishes. With so much at stake, she risks it all and gets very close to losing. There are a lot of moving pieces and it was really satisfying to see them move into a pattern that gets us one step closer to a big showdown. We get some resolution, don’t worry, but it isn’t as permanent as I’d have liked to see. I know there is still a lot of unanswered stuff we need to work through, but the story is really getting there.

So, so very good! I said it with the first book in the series, which I only picked up because I received this ARC, and I’ll say it again: I’m so glad I requested and received this book! I’m hooked on the series and can’t wait for Book 4. I also can’t wait to dive into the author’s back catalog.

I’m so invested in where this story is going. Ferne and Theo were so good together, but I loved how the story had them separated most of the time. It really brought that eagerness and yearning to their relationship and kept it from being too lovey-dovey, which it had the potential to be with their insta-love. I’m interested in knowing more about Kirsi and Callum too, and what’s up with Mason. I can’t wait for more Skye Druids!

I received an advance review copy of this book, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Thank you to NetGalley, Donna Grant, and the publisher for Heart of Glass.

Love these Skye Druids. If you want heated romance, suspense and action, these books are for you! When Ferne sets out to warn the druids of Skye of a lurking danger, she meets the man of her dreams. Theo is a cop, but not just any kind of cop. When he and Ferne meet it might cost them their lives

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own

Heart of Glass is the third book in the Skye Druids spin off. The story revolves around Detective Theo Frasier & the Druid seer Ferne Crawford. Will they be able to find out what is causing all Druid deaths?
Another great read full of twists & turns. They are both strong people that care deeply about others. Even if it means putting themselves in harm’s way. Donna Grant never disappoints her readers.
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the copy. This is my voluntary review. Another recommended read

A big fan of Donna’s, I always request her books as soon as they come up on Netgalley. And although I had loved the previous one: Shoulder the Skye, I am not totally over the moon on Heart of Glass. No worries, I still really like it, but I had some problems with Ferne. I had trouble in connecting with her character. And I’m still not sure why, but whereas I usually can relate to the characters, Ferne was just a little off for me.

Detective Frasier, however, was just the most generous and great character. He is the heart and soul of this story. Donna takes us along the invisible threat that is making the Isle of Skye more dangerous by the minute. But what will Ferne’s role be in this? And how will the other Druids react?

As usual, Donna keeps you guessing till the end. So, no five stars this time, but still a solid four stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

Fern and Teo is another couple of Druids that find a love story on Skye. Very interesting read, full of suspense and twists. The mist is still killing people, darkness still lurks in the shadow. I liked the story it is very enjoyable with a good plot and characters.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

This is book 3 in the Skye Druids series, and while it could be read as a standalone- I would recommend reading the previous books before this one as there is a larger story ARC going that interconnect these books. Ferne Crawford is a Seer with unique abilities that set her apart from other Druids. She once ignored her magic with tragic results. So, when she’s bombarded with visions of a great evil that call her to a place she’s been warned never to go, she’s powerless to resist. Her life takes a drastic turn the moment she arrives on Skye and encounters a handsome, valiant stranger. Theo makes her ache for his touch. Their meeting stirs an explosive passion, awakening a yearning that only he can satisfy. However, there’s more than the malice which brought her to the isle that intends her harm. Detective Inspector Theo Frasier carries the weight of the isle and his people on his shoulders. With more Druid murders and no leads on who’s controlling the killing mist, he’s beginning to feel the strain. The last thing he needs is anything—or anyone—distracting him. But once he meets Ferne, he can’t get her out of his head. Or his heart. She fills his every thought, day and night. His need for her consumes him, pushing everything else aside. But will his love be enough to save them from the growing threat?

So while I wanted to absolutely love this story, and for the most part I did, there were little things that kept me from not being able to be completely sucked into it. It's more of an insta-love story, which isn't bad-it just wasn't what I was expecting when it comes to a Detective and a Seer. I also am not sure that I liked Theo as much as I wanted to. But I honestly think that is just me and not necessarily his character. On a whole, it was definitely a good book and well worth the read in the series. It just isn't my favorite in it.

4.25 stars-HEART OF GLASS is the third instalment in Donna Grant’s contemporary, adult SKYE DRUIDS paranormal/fantasy romance series-a spin off from the author’s REAPER series which in turn is a spin off from the author’s many interconnected series and stories. This is Druids Detective Inspector Theo Frasier, and Ferne Crawford’s story line. HEART OF GLASS should not be read as a stand alone- I recommend reading the series in order, as well as DARK ALPHA’S COMMAND (Reaper 15) for back story and cohesion as many of the events of the current time line are as of a direct result of the events in Dark Alpha’s Command. Several characters from the other series including Reaper Balladyn and Druid Rhona (Dark Alpha’s Command) and some of the original Dragon Kings (Nikolai) and Reaper characters appear as secondary and supporting characters.

SOME BACKGROUND: Months earlier, betrayal and vengeance forced a take-over of power on the Isle of Skye but someone or something is killing the Druids, not only on the Isle of Skye, but around the world including Edinburgh Scotland. With the focus on the death of the Druids on the Isle of Skye, Balladyn and Rhona (Dark Alpha’s Command/Reaper 15) begin an investigation that reveals a danger targeting the Druids and the MacLean family, in particular.

Told from third person perspective HEART OF GLASS continues to focus on the mist that is slowly killing the Druids on the Isle of Skye. Ferne Crawford is a London Druid but something or someone is calling Ferne to Skye. Years earlier, the Druids separated, and those in opposition left for London, vowing never to return to the Isle of Skye. Ferne’s need to leave is met with resistance from her brother Mason, and in its’ wake, Ferne learns she is on her own. Meeting Detective Inspector Theo Frasier pulls Ferne into a world she knew nothing about, a world of dragons and Reapers, and a mist that is calling our heroine for help. As Ferne and the Skye Druids work together to stop the person in charge, someone else is controlling the mist behind the scenes. What ensues is the quick building relationship between Ferne and Theo, and the potential fall-out as Ferne is caught between realms in an effort to help the people with whom she is falling in love.

The world building continues to focus on stopping the mist that is threatening and killing the Druids on the Isle of Skye. Someone is seeking vengeance against the Druids, someone is controlling the mist, and someone else is about to pay the price.

The relationship between Theo and Ferne is one of immediate attraction. Ferne’s arrival on Skye piques Theo’s interest, strengthens his magic, and pulls our couple towards their destiny. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.

Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters many of whom cross over from the author’s numerous interconnected series including Druids, Reapers and Dragons. We are reintroduced to the TruthSeeker Esther and her mate Nikolai (Heat/Dark Kings 12); Elodie and Scott, Edie and Trevor; Rhona and Balladyn, as well as the Knights: Sabryn, Carlyle, and Finn, as well as the introduction of Ferne’s brother Mason, and well as Druids Kirsi, and Callum.

HEART OF GLASS is another multi-layered story of betrayal and vengeance, power and control, following several plot lines, several building stories, and possible relationships deceptions. The fast paced, character driven premise is dramatic and intense; the romance is seductive yet subtle; the characters are energetic, captivating and powerful.

Skye, Scotland
In this book we continue to discover more about the exiled Druid/Seer, Ferne Crawford, who had previously helped a Druid in Skye, Scotland. However this angered some of the London Druids. Plus her parents had warned her of this too. Claiming all the Druids in Skye were not to be trusted. However Ferne felt a calling inside her and had to ignore all their warnings, feeling what she was doing was right. She knew the consequences and kept moving ahead to Skye, plus it also felt like she was home for some reason.

This leads her straight to the Fairy Pools where she meets police inspector Theo Frasier who is also a Druid. This book centers on the mist that is killing Druids, yet is calling to Ferne for help and assistance. Plus Theo and Ferne are immediately drawn to each other, like a moth to a flame and feel if they do not act on it they will explode! Both feel all these problems in Skye and they are trying to find answers to but their love cannot be denied!

A fast-paced, page-turner, that is absolutely awe inspiring! The plots were filled with so many twist and turns which I absolutely loved!

Another Donna Grant book I could not put down and I highly recommend from start to finish!

This was an entertaining, well-written book. It was steamy, fast-paced and I didn't want to put it down. I enjoyed this book and will look for more books by this author.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

I am loving this series and the next book cannot come fast enough for me! I love that we see the whole group in each book and are actively involved. The combination of having one of the Reapers, one of the Dragon Kings, and the Druids seems to bring all the worlds together.

Ferne took a huge leap of faith leaving what she knew to go to Skye and help the Skye Druids. For this, she is cut off from her group, the London Druids and has lost her brother as well. I am hoping to hear more about that in a future book and hope her brother isn't the cold callous jerk he was in this book.

I loved that Theo and Ferne just clicked for each other! Even though she has lost much coming to Skye she has gained a new family.

I can't give away too much but will say that though they have answered a few questions, many more remain. One battle was one but the war is not over and as Ferne sees - the dark clouds are still over Skye and the threat is still there.

This is a series that gets better with every book and in this latest offering we get some answers but even more questions are raised . Ferne a druid based in London is a seer who gets very strong visions she ignored them once with tragic consequences and she isn't willing to do that again so even though she is forbidden to contact the druids on Skye about her vision she does and is exiled. So she heads to Skye once there she meets Theo Frasier he is local detective working the murders that are happening when a mist descends on the isle Soon they are working together to find out who is behind the murders Can they solve what is happening You will have to read to see

Here’s my spoiler-free review:

Ferne and Theo have an immediate mutual attraction but they each have an agenda which takes precedence over any relationship. Ferne is drawn to Skye to warn Kirsi and Rhona of imminent danger. Kerry is still controlling the mist as per her instructions by The Ancients.

There are quite a few red herrings regarding the “bad guys.” Several new characters are introduced and their role in future developments remains to be seen. Notably absent are several key characters from the previous novel. As always, there is an Epilogue which hints at things to come. Looking forward to finding out what happens next in the world of the Skye Druids.

I thoroughly loved reading the amazing, captivating, and awesome paranormal story. When Ferne, a druid, feels to need to go to Skye, she meets Theo and is instantly attracted to him, but even though Theo wants to spend more time with Ferne, Theo, a police officer and Druid, needs to stop the mist from the murder spree. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written full of suspense and romance, and a must read riveting and engaging storyline. Can't wait to read the next story in the series by the phenomenal author, Donna Grant!

I really enjoy this series. This latest book brings Ferne to the Isle of Skye. She's been drawn there to warn about the encroaching danger to the Skye druids. Her encounters with "The Ancients" are chilling. While the bad guy is obvious all is not what it seems. The "mist" is sentient but a mystery. Such an complex story. I loved it.
