This gives a modern day Darcy, a hot genie, wishes, alternates realities, and timey wimey hijinks, and all the angst!

The ending wasn’t my fav. Really abrupt with no epilogue. We get no spice it’s a real bummer.

Love the sense of humor. Outside of romance we have a small work side plot, mother and daughter relationship, and a best friend relationship. If that last scene would have given me just one smut scene this would have been absolutely perfect.

The audiobook narration for this made the banter and the angst all the better!!!!

If you will send me an email reminder in release day I will post my review on Amazon as well. - the option isn’t available until release.

I really enjoyed this book it was quite different from what I was expecting but it was really well done. I definitely had preconceived notions from the cover but this book was full of whim and surprises!

The concept of this audio book seemed very cute from the description but I couldn't get over the narrator, found it quite robotic and monotonous - so I DNF this audiobook.

DNF at 3%. I just cannot handle the writing in this book and a main female character that is acting so inane. Her mom hates men and she's going to prove that a relationship is worth it by getting a guy to marry her.

I don't understand the setup and cannot make myself go on.

I'm sorry because I got this as an advanced reader copy audiobook... but listening to it feels like torture.

This is such a fun, whimsical, heartfelt read. Both main characters go through major growth in the story – which feeds my soul. I love the magical aspect of the story as it adds so much to the story and becomes a character in and of itself. Iza and Beckett are interesting, captivating, relatable, fun characters. In their own ways they have a lot of growing to do to get the life they need and want. The secondary characters are quirky and added to the fabric of the story. I enjoyed this book, the characters and the story. There is something endearing and relatable about it.

I listened to this book and enjoyed the narrator.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I picked this title because I love the idea of of a genie romance. I've never read a book where the genie was the hero before. I did really enjoy watching Iza make wishes and find out the consequences. I also really enjoyed the humor that Iza and Beckett shared. It was also interesting to see Shannon Bright's interpretation of 20th century Mr. Darcy. However, where I struggled with this book was that I didn't like Iza for a lot of the story. She was very determined to please her mother and very afraid to trust. It caused her to treat Beckett badly as well as other characters. Also Iza's relationship with Darcy following the story line of the original book didn't work so well for me. I would have rather seen the connection Iza and Darcy could form. I also don't think lots of fans of Austen will love this version of Darcy. I didn't feel like he had to be the stories hero but I also felt like his character was a bit more negative here than in the original. Finally, I would have liked more time with Iza and Beckett enjoying themselves. I found myself pushing through to get to the ending not enjoying the story. I loved the concept of this one but I ultimately felt the execution could be better.

I listened to the audiobook version of Every Wish Way and thought Kim Churchill did a great job with the narration! While this was single narrator, the characters had distinct voices.

I requested this accidentally. I started it to give it a shot and it just isn't the right book for me right now.

Spoilers **** Let me start by saying I'm eternally annoyed that Pride & Prejudice is the benchmark for all romance books in this modern era, however, let's start a new standard: the end of worshipping Mr. Darcy. The recipe of stalking and forgiving his rudeness doesn't seem like a great model for love. The MC's stubbornness and insane belief that a character from a book was perfect despite all evidence to the contrary made this book ridiculous to me. She forgave him terrible behavior but judged everyone else immediately... there was a complete lack of common sense in this book, and the MC's relationship with her mother was deeply dysfunctional (at least she realized that part in the end). And the roommate/bestie just goes along with all of the time travel/alternate universe information like okay.... she was a minor character though and only used when convenient to the narrative with no additional information.
The ending, while predictable, was cute, although, the multiple versions of her in the time/alternate universe was explained poorly and I'm not completely satisfied that aside from Mr. Darcy not existing everything else played out entirely the same. I did think our genie's backstory was interesting and it would have been nice to learn more about him as a person/his history, maybe some fun anecdotes from his other "clients," could have made this book more interesting. This was a quick read, and if you like P&P, it may be enjoyable. I went into this on the genie premise alone and was disappointed. Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the ARC.

I was impressed by this debut novel by Shannon Bright that features some really interesting ideas including alternate universes, time travel, and characters not only influenced by Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice but straight out of it. On top of all of that, it is all brought upon by a cursed man who must grant the FMC three wishes! There was a lot going on in this book and it kept it really interesting. I think it could have done with a touch of editing to finesse all of the great ideas this author clearly has but overall it kept me engaged throughout and was a fun, quick read.

I didn't entirely love the main goal of the FMC being centered on finding the perfect man in order to prove a point to her mother, but if you can get past that you are treated to some fun characters with excellent arcs and growth. I didn't connect with the FMC's motive and execution of her wishes which brought down my overall enjoyment of the book.

This was great on audio with excellent narration by Kim Churchill. I will definitely keep my eye out for whatever Shannon Bright writes next and will add it to my TBR.

Really big thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for a very enjoyable ALC of this book!

Thank you to NetGalley, Shannon Bright and Dreamscape Media for an audio arc of Every Wish Way in exchange for an honest review. This review is wholly my own & may not be reproduced (except quotations).

“Raised by a mother whose ironclad motto is “men are trash,” Iza longs to prove her wrong, ideally with a kind, steady boyfriend who will free her from the exhausting treadmill that is dating. Although she’s willing to try (almost) anything to find love, accidentally summoning a wish-granting stranger out of thin air was never part of the plan.

Unfortunately, Beckett, her personal wish-granter, isn’t exactly the sage and generous being she would expect. Instead, he loves to party, has attitude to spare, and boasts an uncanny ability to point out Iza’s worst flaws. Iza decides to use one of her three wishes to create her dream man—a modern Mr. Darcy. If that esteemed gentleman can’t impress her overbearing mother, no one can. Using Pride and Prejudice as the handbook to Darcy’s heart, Iza plays the part of Elizabeth Bennet and sets out to create her epic love story.

Making wishes and winning Darcy over becomes more complicated than Iza expects, especially with Beckett’s adorably dimpled grin and unexpected kindness in the equation. Soon enough, she’s glimpsing the truth of the man behind the flippant persona, and each moment in his company makes her question everything she thought she wanted from love.”

I absolutely LOVED this adorable romance! This was not a book I had heard of until it popped up on NetGalley and sounded too cute to pass up & I am sure glad that I didn’t pass it up.

Such a quirky & fun story – I loved all the Pride & Prejudice references. Be forewarned, you are going to fall head over heels in love with Beckett. I loved this story so much, that I am adding Shannon Bright to my list of authors to check out other titles!

5/5 Stars

I honestly didn’t expect to enjoy this book as much I did. The discord between mother and daughter. The importance of self love. Finding love in unexpected places. It all hit me right in the feels. It was also great reading a book taking place in stl (my stomping grounds).

Review will be left on goodreads and my Insta

What a great debut novel from Shannon Bright!

I was lucky to receive an early copy of the audiobook and it was just what I needed to cure the end of summer blues. Kim Churchill did a great job bringing the book to life!

Iza, bless her soul, is a hardworking architect doing everything she can to prove her worth to her single mother. This includes trying to find the perfect man that would fit all her criteria, the biggest one of those being someone her relationship averse mother would approve of.

Now enters Beckett, a wish granting quasi genie who shows up in a plume of purple smoke in Iza’s living room - quite literally - from her bottle of glitter nail polish. After making some mistakes in his past life, he is now damned to a life of granting wishes to people who need them most. As always, there are rules, and as always - phrasing of these wishes is critical.

After Iza finally decides to use one her wishes to conjure up her and her mothers dream man - Mr. Darcy - things don’t seem to go as planned, and in the heat of it all .. Iza and Beckett’s friendship grows from nothing to something, even though they both know that they are not what the other needs or is looking for!

This was such a fun way of bringing magic and Pride and Prejudice to modern times. I was giggling along at just how much of a walking red flag Mr. Darcy in 2023 would be, especially considering all the book girlies undying love of him (myself included). But beyond the humour, this was a great story of Iza discovering herself again and breaking away from the pressures her mother and male dominated industry have placed on her.

If you’re looking for a little bit of magic and some laughs along the way, I highly suggest you check this one out when it comes out September 19 🎉

This book had me cracking the hell up the entire time. I absolutely loved the banter between Eliza (Iza) and Beckett. It was too freaking funny. If you like “She’s The Man”, you’ll love the humor in this book.
I was never a Pride and Prejudice fan, so her chasing the story and it kinda blowing up in Iza’s face kinda had me laughing even harder. Darcy was a grade A jerk, and I was glad when Iza finally figured it out. I also really REALLY liked the end resolution with Beckett and Iza. It was a cute way to wrap the story up. The only reason this didn’t get five stars from me was because of the very last chapter. It felt super rushed, and I wonder if the ALC I received cut off early. I didn’t feel like the ending was a full ending, it just felt very abrupt. Otherwise, the other 99.9% of this book was absolutely amazing, and I’m so excited to see what else Shannon Bright writes.

This is the story a woman who’s lost in life, believing the only way to improve her life is to find the closest thing possible to a real life version of Jane Austen’s beloved character Mr. Darcy. So when a mysterious man appears in her home offering to grant her three wishes, she reluctantly begins to accept his presence and considers how to fulfill the ambitions she (and her mother) have for her life. This story was predictable at times and frustrating at other moments. The thematic elements of finding what you truly want and seeing past the inaccuracies of first impressions were important but fell a bit short for me. It felt like those elements took so long to come along I’d lost interest in the trajectory of the main character Iza’s journey and was ready to reach the conclusion of the story. The immature and emotionally unavailable mother frustrated me from early on and she felt very one dimensional for the majority of the story. While I can appreciate the creativity and originality of this unique story concept, I found it difficult to get fully invested in the characters and remain attentive to the story. This made the revelations in the last 10-15% of the book feel more like a relief that things were finally coming to a conclusion instead of the satisfying payoff I was hoping for. This story, while a slow burn, forces out leading lady to decide between the idea of what she should be/what her future “should” look like according to arbitrary standards established by others and the future she really wants that will make her heart and her future truly happy.

Thanks to Alcove Press and NetGalley for an advanced audiobook recording of this story. The narrator did a great job bringing this story to life and differentiating all the characters. All opinions are my own.

This felt like it was much longer than it needed to be.
A lot of "extra" side bits to the plot that felt unnecessary.
I would have just loved more of a focus on Iza & Beckett and less on all the other extras.
Still a good book, but got sidetracked.
Slowest of slow burns when I think it could have gotten kissy-faced a lot sooner without all the "extra" drama that didn't add to the plot.
Thanks to NetGalley & Dreamscape Media for my ALC.

"Every Wish Way" by Shannon Bright, narrated by Kim Churchill, is a lighthearted and whimsical romance that adds a touch of magic to the world of dating woes. The story centers on Isa, a young woman in pursuit of true love, while trying to break free from the dating treadmill, utilizing some unusual methods.

Bright weaves a charming tale of unexpected wishes and the amusing consequences that follow. The characters, especially Beckett, the wish-granter, bring a dose of humor to the narrative, while Iza and Beckett bring special layers of quirkiness to the whole tale. Churchill's narration complements the story well, capturing those quirky personalities, insecurities, and dare I say, very personal neuroses held tightly by each character.

While "Every Wish Way offers a delightly premise and moments of laughter, it can fall into some predictable and vaguely stale romance tropes, but remains a sweet and enjoyable read, perfect for those seeking a romantic escape with a sprinkle of magic.

Thank you to Dreamscape Media for the advanced audiobook copy via NetGalley to review in exchange for a fair and honest review.

3 stars.

"Every Wish Way" by Shannon Bright boasts a very cute and charming mystically magically romantic premise that is a little lacking in its execution. I am ambivalent about this book, honestly. It's got some good, and it's got some bad. I didn't really identify with the main character, Iza. I found it difficult to see things from her perspective, especially when she showed little to no growth throughout the story (which was a huge missed opportunity). She seemed like someone you'd need to walk on eggshells around because she'd always explode for no reason. I understand what the author is trying to do by showing that women can successfully balance both a career AND a family life, but I couldn't have the feeling that Iza is everything that's wrong with the modern-day feminist movement. I found her to be toxic, controlling, grating, and unkind. Her mother is even worse than her, but I can't fault this because the author does a fantastic job making her deplorable and despicable. Good on you for this character, Shannon, she's truly the worst! Beckett, the main male character, had his ups and downs. He's funny and charming at times, but then he's selfish and irritating at other times. I never really got the sense that Beckett and Iza would work as a couple because there wasn't that much chemistry between the two of them. Some of the banter between them is well-written, but there was no spark that got me deeply invested in their magical love story. Some timeline jumps in the latter portion of the story made the narrative confusing. I also hate how Iza never stands up to her mother and lets every horrible thing she's done slide! No freaking way! "Pride and Prejudice" fans may be up in arms about what this book tries to do with its constant comparisons, but it didn't bother me and I found it to be an enjoyable plot device. I was hoping this would be a good summer-to-fall transition book, but it just didn't capture my attention as I hoped it would. Still, this book is more tolerable because of the always fabulous Kim Churchill's narration. She's a superstar and I'll read anything she narrates!

Thank you to NetGalley, Shannon Bright, and Alcove Press for the complimentary ARC of this book. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated for this review.

Thank you Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for the ALC!

- I was surprised by how much I got into this book by the end! At the beginning, I thought it was going to be a more surface-level book, but I was wrong!
- What starts out as just a few wishes builds into something so much more complicated by the end-time travel-esque events were so unexpected! I was impressed by how some of the loose ends were wrapped up in the end, and it had more of a twist than I had been expecting.
- While this book references Pride and Prejudice regularly, parts were hard to accept as someone who loves the book! I still enjoyed it, but some things, especially surrounding Whickham, would be controversial for big fans.
- I loved some of the side characters, especially Lola and Waffles! I loved how well developed a lot of the side characters were as well.

I absolutely loved this book! The story follows Iza, a young girl who is just trying to find love. One day she accidentally summons her very own “wish granter” Beckett. I see a lot of people making comparisons to Aladdin but that is not what first comes to my mind. I immediately thought of the 2000 classic Bedazzled starring Brendan Fraser and Elizabeth Hurley. In that movie, Hurley and Fraser have a lot of chemistry and flirting going on and that’s the same vibe I got from Iza and Beckett.

It was hard to not fall in love with both Iza and Beckett from the start. Both of them get even more likable as the story goes on. You will want nothing but a happy ending for them both.

Not only does Every Wish Way have fantastic main characters, but it also has great supporting characters. Iza’s best friend Lola is one of the most supportive friends ever! Iza tells Lola about the magic and her wish granter and she just supports Iza without too many questions asked. Kalyan and Iza have a workplace prank war and by the end of the story I loved how much more Kalyan became than just a workplace rivalry.

I immediately preordered this book after I finished. I can’t wait to recommend it to everyone!

*3.5 rounded up*

This was pretty cute, and really easy to listen to. The premise was a little 13-going-on-30 with the time travel via nail polish bottle, which was fun and unique. The “mommy issues” were very annoying at first, but Beckett standing up to Iza’s mom (finally!!!) made it a little better. I would have enjoyed a little less Darcy and a little more Beckett. At times the story felt very jumbled with her overbearing mother, 2 love interests, her grandma’s property thrown in, hating her job, etc. Though the idea was very unique, I feel as though it could have used a little more streamlining.

The story was overall a light, fun read with a happy ending.
