Whilst reading this book, I was kept on the edge of my seat! McFadden never disappoints. I discovered this author in the beginning of 2023, and I realised what I truly was missing. If you need a really really good psychological thriller, this is for sure the go-to author!

The school year has begun and Addie doesn’t want to go back. It’s not that she has the typical dislike of high school, but Addie has had a tough year and knows she will be ostracized by other students. Addie struggles with losing her best friend, Hudson, and trying to stay under the radar with both other students and her math teacher, Eve Bennett. That is, until her English teacher, Nate Bennett, married to Eve, acknowledges her poetry and is the only person who doesn’t punish her for her mistakes the previous year.
Just when I thought I had this one figured out, Frieda holds one final twist that I never saw coming until the very last page. Freida’s detailing of the story and callbacks throughout the story keep you on the edge of your toes to find out what happens next.

Another great, fast paced thriller from Frieda Mcfadden! I was hooked from the very beginning and it never slowed down. I do think the plot had a few holes but I don't believe it took away from the story. The twist at the end is a good one!
The teacher is one of my favorites by Freida. Would totally recommend!
Thank you Netgally and Freida McFadden for my first ARC!

I enjoy psychological thrillers, but had not previously read anything by Freida McFadden (One By One, The Co-Worker, The Housemaid) , so I had no expectations when I received a copy of The Teacher from Poisoned Pen Press and NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
The story has two main characters: Eve is a math teacher at Caseham High, and Addie is one of her students. Poor Addie is taunted and bullied by her classmates as a result of allegedly inappropriate behavior involving her and an older male teacher during the previous school year. That teacher (no longer employed) warns Eve not to trust Addie, and Eve passes that warning along to her husband Nate, who teaches English at the same high school, and also has Addie in one of his classes. The warning about Addie is true: she for SURE can’t be trusted.. Plus, she lies and hurts people, and the other students go out of their way to make her miserable.
Unfortunately Nate is thinking with the wrong part of his anatomy, inappropriate conduct soon occurs (there is no “allegedly” this time), and the twists and turns begin.. There are tons of secrets, “OH NO” moments, and a wonderfully twisty plot with surprises galore.
As a retired teacher, I particularly enjoyed it…and have recommended it to my husband – a former English teacher who encountered an Addie or two before his retirement.. I loved this book, and stayed up for HOURS to finish it. It is just good entertainment. Five stars.

When Freida puts out a book…drop everything. Prepare for the twists. And this one has a LOT. I read through this so fast. It was such a good read and had a lot of wow moments. I love suspenseful books and she’s so good at writing them.

I was looking forward to her new book! I have to admit that one part of the storyline gave me the creeps, but did I stop reading? Absolutely not.
In true Freida fashion, she hooked me and reeled me in. That ending was like...wait? What just happened??
....Spoiler.....
The only decent people in this story were Mr. Tuttle and Addie's Mom ??

I got this ARC from NetGalley (thank you!) to give my honest review.
“Eve has a good life. She gets up each day, gets a kiss from her husband Nate, and heads off to teach math at the local high school. All is as it should be. Except…
Last year, Caseham High was rocked by a scandal involving a student-teacher affair, with one student, Addie, at its center. But Eve knows there is far more to these ugly rumors than meets the eye.
Addie can't be trusted. She lies. She hurts people. She destroys lives. At least, that's what everyone says.
But nobody knows the real Addie. Nobody knows the secrets that could destroy her. And Addie will do anything to keep it quiet.”
First of all, the short chapters are an excellent way to keep me reading into the night! The “just one more chapter” was definitely happening and I was ready to just keep going until I finished.
I loved the character narrative switching between Addie and Eve as the mystery played out. As for the twists—I did guess all but one, but still enjoyed the ride.
For 80% of this book I knew it would be a 5 star rating. And then the last 20% happened and it dropped to a 3. One of the final twists felt like a twist for twists sake and added an element of suspended belief for me that just knocked it out of a 5 star read. I don’t want to spoil it so I’ll leave it at that!

Probably the most exciting ARC I’ve been sent.
The first half was mainly character development, nothing too shocking in this part was mainly trying to guess who would end up being the ‘goodie’ and the ‘baddie’.
Then come the second half and boyyyy were secrets spilled. I hated putting it down as I was sooo hooked. So much going on each perspective of the characters. I did guess a few twists (which I’m so proud of myself for) and the rest had me sat like 😮😮
And the EPILOGUE🤯 omg I was not ready. Loooooved the ending was done perfectly.
A must read for 2024!!!!

Oh my gosh! I was able to get approved by Netgalley to read “The Teacher” by Freida McFadden! I JUST finished it! This was by far one go my favorites by her! Throughout the whole book I was hooked!

A classic Freida McFadden that will have you on the edge of your seat. Eve and Nate Bennett might seem like a happy couple from the outside, both high school teachers, married and trying for a baby but their reality is far darker. Enter Addie, a high school junior with a reputation for going after teachers and one kill under her belt. What could possibly go wrong?

" Digging a grave is hard work."
The Queen of thrillers does it again. This is Freida's best book yet. Freida's books are always page turners, and this one does not disappoint. The twists and turns will leave you breathless wondering who you can trust, and what's going to happen next. The ending completely shocked me, and had me yelling at my kindle.
The main characters, Eve, Nate, and Addie, all have something to hide. They should all be unlikeable but they all have something about them that makes you want to hear more. Just when you think that you have it figured out, you better guess again.
Clear your schedule because once you start this book, you won't be able to put it down.

I always know when I start a Freida McFadden book that I need to block out the rest of the evening! Her stories really draw me in. This one was no different. We meet a married couple named Nate and Eve who teach at the local
High school. Nate is the most popular teacher there and he has the caught the eye of Addie, a 16 year old with a reputation. Eve warns him to steer clear of Addie but Nate doesn’t listen and they all pay the price!

4.25⭐️
I’m up to date with Freida’s back catalogue, so was excited to read the latest release. I can always rely on a quick easy engaging pacy read with twists that I can never predict. It came with a trigger warning, but I felt that the subject matter was really well handled.
The authors writing style is perfect for this book. The main characters are Addie a troubled student, and Mr and Mrs Bennett two teachers at the school.
I love fast twisty books with plenty of revelations and twists. This one certainly fits the bill. For a good portion of the book this was looking like becoming one of my new favourites.
It’s a wild ride, buckle yourself in. I found it very entertaining, there are some aspects which pushed my boundaries of credibility, or I feel needed exploring further. One reveal I felt was a step too overcooked.
I’m sure Freida fans are going to love this latest offering, I really enjoyed it.

WOW!! Easily my favorite McFadden read! I know Freida is known for her twists, and this one does not disappoint!. Twist after twist after twist. Once I got to the end, I just had to sit and process what I had just read. I do think the subject matter will get some negative press and may trigger some, but the unfortunate truth is, this does happen, though hopefully not to this extent! My request for the ARC was sent to me with a trigger warning from McFadden re the inappropriate relationship Huge thank you to Mandy Chalal at Poisoned Pen Press for allowing me to read this e-ARC.

The queen of thrills is back following The Coworker with her latest dazzling wild standalone game of cat-and-mouse psychological thriller, THE TEACHER. If you are a fan of the author, like millions of others like myself, you drop everything when you see a Freida McFadden new book.
Holy Moly! She shocks, she surprises, she entertains. With her wildly imaginative mind, she dazzles her fans again. You can expect deceit, revenge, secrets, unreliable narrators, and a roller coaster MIND-BENDING adventure.
The author grips you from the Prologue with the opening line: "Digging a grave is hard work." So we know we have a dead body, we assume, or why dig a grave? Right? Maybe...
There is a lot of drama between students and teachers at the local high school. Meet math teacher Eve Bennett, age 30, married to older hunky hubby, and fellow teacher Nate Bennett. He has always fancied himself a poet. They teach at Caseham High School.
Eve knows she is out of her league with Nate, but she is younger ✔ and loves designer shoes, 👠especially Jimmy Choo stiletto pumps, Christian Louboutins, and Louis Vuitton. So she has good taste and loves high heels since she is only foot two. She is OBSESSED with shoes and stashes them away from her hubby's prying eyes. You must have some outlet with a hubby like Nate.
Plus, Eve likes the shoe salesman, Jay, at Simons's (wink, wink), if you know what I mean. 😉
Her hubby talks about filling the house with children, but she is unsure they will achieve that on their current intimacy schedule. Three kisses per day, sex once a month, and Nate is always the one who drives (the car that is).
Told from alternating tension-filled POVs: Eve (wife/teacher) and Addie (16-year-old student). Eve is concerned when she learns that Addie Severson, a student who allegedly had an affair with a math teacher, Art, who resigned the year earlier —is now in one of her classes.
Of course, Addie says nothing happened, but her classmates bully her, and the staff does not know who is telling the truth. Then the worst happens: Addie is also in Nate's class, and they bond over poetry. He even invites her to join Reflections, the poetry magazine meeting.
Eve has a terrible feeling about this girl. Let the games begin...
Addie also has a BIG problem. Kenzie Montgomery is the most popular and beautiful girl in their junior class. She is a bully, and no one ever stands up to Kenzie. She ruins Addie's everyday life.
Addie is excited her English teacher (Nate) loves Poe as much as she does. Addie is a troubled girl and the daughter of an abusive alcoholic who finally drank himself to death. Addie never accused Art of anything, but his reputation was ruined. She used to hang out with Hudson, but now he is one of the popular kids.
Things heat up. Demands are made. Fear, lies, secrets, and anxieties rise to the surface, gaslighting at its finest. Infatuations. Obsessions. Affairs. Addictions.
The author keeps you glued to the pages with the triangle tension of Addie, Nate, and Eve. Addie is trying to get over a scandal and bullying. Meanwhile, Eve has to deal with her marriage problems. TRUST NO ONE.
Freida's star power shines with each book and her signature style of fast-paced storytelling, dark humor, witty characters, short chapters, and the unexpected TWISTS and jaw drops! That final twist is Killer!
Holy Cannoli! THE TEACHER has it all! You will laugh out loud as you go back and forth with love/hate, waiting for the final ball drop and knife twist. I always love her Epilogues! Please do not take this one too seriously; it is FF and meant for fun and wow factors.
As always, THE TEACHER is highly entertaining, standout, a clever plot, humor—and blurs the lines between right and wrong. Another domestic suspense winner by the queen of thrills!
Wickedly delicious. Be sure to get some sleep before starting. You will not be able to put it down. I finished up at 5 am. I would love to see Eva in future books and check up on her shoes! I cannot wait for The Housemaid is Watching, coming June 11, 2024!
Thanks to Poisoned Pen Press and NetGalley for the gifted, advanced digital reading review copy for an honest opinion. I look forward to listening to the audiobook narrated by the fabulous Leslie Howard and Danny Montooth. #CoverLove

A five-star read by Freida McFadden! The Teacher is all sorts of wrong and twisted but there is more to the story that keeps you turning pages - what happened and who is lying? Who do you trust - the student or the teacher? Its a wild ride, that's for sure!

I could not put this book down. Freida Mcfaddens new book is both exciting and thrilling and had me shocked throughout the whole book. I could never anticipate what was going to happen next and the book had me astounded at every new revelation that came to light. Her use of different Personas in the book was very interesting to read and I would definitely recommend this book to everyone whether you like mysteries, thrillers or romance.

Another great thriller by Freida McFadden. Addie is dreading going back to high school after the death of her father and an incident she was involved with at school. Not only has ostracized by her classmates, but he best friend won’t talk to her and she has the meanest math teacher in the school. The only redeeming grace is her English, Mr. Bennet who gives her the attention she craves and sees her talents as a poet. Maybe this year won’t be so bad after all….
I highly recommend this books, like all of Freida’s books it is a quick, exciting ride full of twists and turns.

Freida McFadden sure knows how to write a story that grabs you and doesn't let go!! Goodness sakes I'm exhausted from staying up long past bedtime to read one more page! Looking for a book to make time fly (hello airplanes), McFadden is the author to chose! A huge thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for this ARC.

Another great Freida McFadden book. Typically I am an audiobook person, but I'll read a FM book. She did not disappoint in the least bit. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I really wanted to punch someone but refrained from punching my Kindle. Holy blood pressure raising twists at the end!
