Nate and Eve, married, teaching at the same high school. Addie, the “troubled student,” is in both of their classes. Like always, I never figure out Freida’s endings ahead of time. Quick read. I always enjoy a good Freida book. Thank you NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the ARC. I really appreciate if.

This was my favorite Freida in the last couple years. I absolutely flew through this and couldn’t wait for the ending, which didn’t fail to fulfill that Freida twist-chasing hunger. THAT EPILOGUE THOUGH! Absolutely obsessed.

The Teacher by Fredia McFadden
“It’s a lesson she'll never forget!” It’s a book I will never forget!!! 📚
The Psychological Thriller Queen of plot twists has done it again!👑 I believe we make it a challenge for her to come up with a twist we all don’t see coming and this time I think she delivered! This twist Broadsided me and I was stunned!
The Teacher is a trip back to high school 🏫with the charming and handsome English teacher Nate 👨🏫and some of the teen angst between characters.
Eve, plain Jane math teacher with a shoe obsession👠, somehow saddled handsome Nate, poet, but is their marriage perfect? In walks Addie, a student that was in the middle of a local scandal. My heart really went out to this troubled girl. With her sad past the teachers try to help her out, but who really benefits from this? This book had me up late into the night wanting to read One More Chapter! 📖
Plot holes and far fetched twists aside, this book was another win that I did not want to end! Fredia McFadden pulled me in and kept my attention!!!
Thank you NetGalley for once again letting me have this sneak peak into her brilliant mind!!

Really enjoyed this book. At the end my mouth was hanging open as I finished the twist. Highly recommend this book.

The Teacher follows the story of married couples Nate and Eve whose marriage leaves much to be desired. When Addie, who was at the center of controversy the previous school year, is enrolled in both of they're classes things get even worse. I loved the story and all of the twist. The ending made my jaw drop. Freida has earned the title queen of plot twists.

Like all of Freida’s books I was on the edge of my SEAT!!!!! while this one started a little slower then some of her other reads, I was hooked pretty early on and through the end. Like always I had no idea what the twist would be and I was floored. This does include student/teacher romance so if that’s a trigger for you read with caution! But like all of Freida’s other books there’s nothing graphic.

Wooooow! Freida never disappoints, this one is my favorite so far. She always knows how to wow me with her plot twists. This book was a bit darker than her other novels which I absolutely loved. Can’t wait until her next book!

This was not my favorite Freida book. I had some issues with the morality of the plot and some things that occurred in this as well as how insufferable the characters were. That may have been the point but I could not connect to any of the main characters and their actions. It wasn’t as engaging as some of her other books and overall just fell flat for me. I will say that the final twist at the end was very unexpected and definitely made me like the book a little more overall.

personally I love all Freida books. You know what kind of read you are going to get. You will have a character that you will find yourself screaming at but also having some type of sympathy for. You will have a crazy twist that you may or may have not saw coming. Quick chapters that end in a cliff hanger. The epilogue that has one final twist. Check all of these off for the teacher. I only item with this book is check the trigger warnings. Wished this book would've taken place with college freshmen instead of high school. Overall I enjoyed this book. Def Loved the ending

A fast read, but I did not care much for this book. A shoe-obsessed math teacher, infidelity, and teacher-student sexual relationships, creepy, and full of plot twists, but it still grabs you and then leaves you feeling sort of icky in the end.

Another easy read, page turning thriller from Freida McFadden! I did find this one a bit more predictable than some of her other ones, BUT THE EPILOGUE?! WOW. Her epilogues always get me.
I will never not enjoy my time with Freida. I love that she always makes you question what is moral and what is not.
I did think Art would have a bigger tie to the overall story, but he didn’t, unless he did and it wasn’t clear to me?!

Holy cow! This book was a little boring in the beginning, but by the end, wow was not expecting that! Kenzie was also having an affair with Mr. Bennett. Eve was a child when she met Nate and stated their love affair then got married. Then to top it off, Eve's Jay at the shoe store was Addies best friend Hudson!

Oh my word... yes! I truly think this one is one of her best. If you are looking for a thriller that you think you've figured out but the author comes back around and gives you a full on "HUH UH!" ending this is it! Freida McFadden is an author I can't recommend enough to customers and after reading I went back and pre ordered a larger batch in addition to the first round I had coming because I knew it just wouldn't be enough. Every single customer who has read this also has given raving reviews!

Another spine-tingling, roller coaster ride of a book!
McFadden's books always keep that suspense in high gear and I certainly didn't' anticipate the ending or that twist that caught me by surprise.
The plot seems simple enough. Eve and Nate are two teachers married to each other and employed at the same high sch00l. A previous scandal is revealed and the action begins. To give anymore of the plot would detract from the suspenseful read.
It has all the elements of a thriller and it certainly accomplishes that.

I love Freida's books. This was not one of my favorites. I didn't like any of the characters or the story. Some of her books are intense and I have a hard time putting them down. I didn't feel that way with this one. I am hoping the next housemaid book is better.

Freida McFadden has done it again! I've enjoyed many of her books, and I'm never able to guess the twist. She keeps me guessing until the end.
The Teacher was no different. I thoroughly enjoyed this psychological thriller.

Freida McFadden is my favorite recommendation for my library patrons. Once again, Freida tricked me at the very end. She is so clever about dropping clues, and once I finished, I thought, how did I not see that coming? Because Freida is such a great suspense writer. Can't wait for the next one!

I read this book along with listening to the audiobook. The only reason I made it through this book is because I love the narrator of the audiobook. The story was pretty much what I expected. A Lifetime movie in a book with a serious creep. I mean I still watch Lifetime movies even when I know what is going to happen. It's like the accident on the side of the road, you look.
Nathaniel is a 38-year-old man who is having an affair with his 16-year-old student, Addie! Super Creep! He is her English teacher. He loves her, she's his soulmate. OK! NOT!
Addie - the 16-year-old girl seemed extra naive to me. I know first love is deep and all-encompassing and all, but she could have been smarter. She should have been smarter.
This book is told from Addie, Nataniel, and Eve's POV's. Eve is Nathaniel's wife and fellow teacher at the same high school. She's not all that likable either.
Everybody in the book is hiding something and doing bad things. Basic plot, unrealistic characters, and a not-so-twisty twist.

I loved her book The Housemaid, so I was excited to read this one. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. I can't believe this book was published. Considering our current climate it was surprising that a book in 2024 would be so descriptive in describing a student and teacher affair.

I guessed the ending, but I didn't guess the last minute twist at the end, so I can thoroughly appreciate being surprised at the end. It was very entertaining even though I wanted to vomit the entire time over the student/teacher relationship. I will add that I thought the way Addie talked was extremely unbelievable as a teenager. The girl talked like she was 65 years old.
Other than that, it was a pretty entertaining read albeit revolting in subject matter.
