Would've loved an excerpt before requesting. The prose was not for me and the world felt very confusing, like reading the fourth sequel in a series.

I don’t know how to explain, but the writing felt old. Outdated. Very much not contemporary. But also, like it was trying to be, and that didn’t work for me. I am confused because the cover feels extremely contemporary. Stylistically, there’s dissonance for me.

I stopped after chapter 1 (6%). Leaving 5 stars as I'm unsure how to rate. I have no idea how this will go over with readers. I will definitely be checking back in with it.
