Many thanks to NetGalley and Orbit Books for providing me with an eARC of That Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted a Love Potion at a Werewolf in exchange for my honest review!

This is the first time I've read something from Kimberly Lemming, and it's turned out to be a solidly charming ride that squeezes in some nice wackiness and spice. We get to settle right into a cozy atmosphere while following the romance between cheesemaker Brie (yes, this really is her name) and lactose-intolerant werewolf Felix, and the chapters move along at a brisk pace that makes it easy to breeze through the tale. Admittedly, it's not like this is the sort of love story that my heart gets deeply invested in. Instead, that particular organ is left closer to the surface. But hey, the romantic fluff is still enjoyable, and the quirky silliness of this book's sense of humor appeals to me, too. I can understand that element rubbing some readers the wrong way in an overly cutesy and cringey fashion, but also, that element is made explicitly clear right in the very title of this novel. It's not like you're diving in and then you get shocked by the tone and the jokes that it's aiming for. If it's not your vibe, then it would be best to search for a different option.

All in all, I'm officially rating That Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted a Love Potion at a Werewolf 3.25 out of 5 stars, which I'm rounding down to 3 stars. I'll keep in mind Lemming's other books down the line.

I have to add the caveat that this was the first book I was reading in the series. So although I got the gist of what happened in the first book I don't one hundred percent understand what is going on. But beside that this is a fun and playful book that I read in a day. If I stop and think about it too much it could get a little dubious but overall just silly and a good time.

Review: Felix & Brie Had Me in a Chokehold

Felix and Brie had a *time* in this book, okay?! From the moment Brie chucked a spiked cup of mead at Felix's head, I knew this was about to be a wild, hilarious, and romantic ride. The author did not disappoint.

Felix is a shape-shifting werewolf who’s been waiting for the moment he imprints on his mate. Brie? She’s just trying to stay alive and dodge a man who absolutely will not take a hint. So when their paths collide (literally) and Felix locks eyes with her, he’s convinced destiny has finally delivered. Brie, on the other hand, thinks it's the love potion she accidentally drank. Cue the chaos.

The chemistry between them is instant, electric, and downright funny. Felix can’t stand to be away from her, driven by instinct and heart. But just when things start to heat up, Brie is captured. And let me tell you, Felix absolutely loses it. The emotional rollercoaster? Real.

We also get visits from old favorites: Cin, Fallon, Dante, and Usha and watching them band together to complete this mission was such a treat. The banter, the bonds, the high-stakes drama. I was hooked from beginning to end.

This book had me cackling one moment and clutching my chest the next. It's fast-paced, full of heart, and once again proves that this author knows how to write adventure, romance, and chaos in equal measure. I truly cannot wait to see what happens next. Felix and Brie are *that* couple.

Five stars. Easily.

This is a fun read if you’re fine with cheesy lines, insta love, and a quick read. I think I liked this one more than the first, Felix is a total golden retriever (er… werewolf?) who just loves Brie endlessly, love potion or not. Enjoyed the bit of mystery as well!

I just really, really did not love this one. Which is so disappointing because I loved the other two in this series. This book does have the humor and playfulness of the other two and I enjoyed that quite a lot.

I just didn't like the pairing (though I did like the characters individually), the insta love, and it would have been nice for the author to include TENTACLE PLAY in the trigger warnings. To say that was unexpected in a werewolf romance story would be the most under of understatements. Then the whole bit with the intel cultists was a bit much for me.

4/5⭐️

Just as humorous and enjoyable as the first one, this was an easy read to get into and stay enamored with. My only complaint is the modern slang in a medieval setting is really throwing me off!

I’m sorry, but Kimberly Lemming is just not for me. I was really excited for the story, even though I didn’t love the first book and I was once again incredibly disappointed.

If you’re looking for a not serious, absolutely hilarious fantasy romcom, I cannot recommend these books enough. They’re just on the edge of being too silly, but they don’t take themselves too seriously either.

Felix is an absolute doll and I adore him. Brie is strong willed and just a good character in general. I like the characters a lot in these books, even if sometimes their inner monologue makes me cringe.

These books are short and fast paced, so it is very quick to get into the romance aspect. It’s borderline insta-love, which isn’t my favorite, but for a story like this, it wouldn’t make sense to drag it out much longer.

**Review of *That Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted a Love Potion at a Werewolf* by Kimberly Lemming**

⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5 stars)

*That Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted a Love Potion at a Werewolf* by Kimberly Lemming is a fun and quirky paranormal romance that delivers plenty of humor and lighthearted moments. The title alone sets the tone for the book—it's playful, absurd, and packed with unexpected twists. The main character's sense of humor and the chaotic situation she finds herself in make for an entertaining, if sometimes ridiculous, read.

While the book is enjoyable for its comedy and supernatural elements, the plot can feel a bit erratic at times. The humor, while often funny, can also be over the top, and the pacing sometimes suffers because of it. The romance between the characters is sweet, but it doesn’t quite delve as deeply into emotional development as I would have liked, leaving it feeling somewhat surface-level.

Overall, *That Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted a Love Potion at a Werewolf* is a light, fun read for fans of paranormal rom-coms. It doesn’t take itself too seriously and is perfect for a quick, feel-good escape, but it lacks the depth and substance that could make it truly memorable for some readers.

If you like romance, golden retriever boyfriends, and cozy monster romances, you will love this book. There is a lot of good banter and a good amount of spicy scenes. I liked the multiple povs, the characters, and of course the romance. It is a pretty easy and quick read.

Though I wanted to love this one I couldn’t really get into this. This might be more of an amazing thing as others quite enjoyed this book.

That Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted a Love Potion at a Werewolf is a fun fantasy romance where Brie, a cheesemaker, falls for a lactose-intolerant werewolf. It's an entertaining and humorous story.

These two are so cute, funny, and sweet. I like how Felix wanted to win over Brie not because of the love potion. Also, like how he’s a little bit of a brat. Brie finally found someone that will never leave her. I like the fact that she opened herself up to Felix. What I liked most about this book was the friends. The reason why I liked their friendships is because they are a found family.

I’m not sure why it takes me so long to pick up Kimberly’s books, when they are always so fan freaking tastic. They are on the shorter side but they make me laugh out loud just about the whole way through. When I’m not in a spicy scene. Although terrifying a godlike creature with your reading choices about had me falling out of my chair. If I disappear for a week or so, just know that I’ve collected every other book of hers that I haven’t read yet and started binging them. 🤣

Brie tried to throw a stinking love potion at the idiot who won’t take no for an answer. Unfortunately he ducked and it hit the dude behind him. Wait. Not a dude. A demon. No idea what kind. And now he thinks that she is his fated mate. She needs to find a way to break this love potion because otherwise she is going to cave and climb this tall blonde guy like a tree, because he can’t in his right mind give consent right now. If only he wasn’t doing everything in his power to woo her.

I am unsure of what to even say about this book. As interesting as the synopsis is, I found my self incredibly bored by this story and largely confused at certain fantasy elements that seemed to come out of nowhere and be so whimsical that I was then distracted from everything else.

Brie was a fun main character and her predicament was one that was very... interesting. I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it. But the longer the book went on and the plot developed, I found myself not particularly attentive to much of what was going on. There were SO many character introduced early on (which may be easier to manage if you read book one first, which I did not since they are not advertised as needing to be read in order). There were so many different types of fantastical creatures in play, many of them with multiple terms to describe them by, and this was hard to follow.

Overall, I was underwhelmed by this and will not be reading any of the others. If this book was any longer, I probably would have dnfed.

This book is a captivating and immersive read that hooks you from the first page. The writing is beautifully crafted, with vivid descriptions and strong character development that makes the story come alive. The plot is well-paced, balancing moments of tension with quieter, reflective scenes that allow the characters to grow. The themes explored are deep and thought-provoking, resonating long after the final page. Whether it's the emotional depth, the twists and turns of the plot, or the unforgettable characters, this book is a must-read for anyone who enjoys rich, engaging stories. Highly recommended

I understand why this series is popular and will definitely recommend it to patrons. I find the tone to be too silly for my personal reading tastes.
