I must admit, Fantasy Romance is not the typical genre I gravitate toward. However, with a title like this one, how could I not at least give it a try? Luckily, I'm glad that I stepped out of my comfort zone and gave this one a try. Lemming quickly sets a fantasy scene with a diverse cast of characters and had me actually laughing from the first few pages of the book. The main character of the book is not your typical heroine, but I quickly grew to love Brie's snarky persona and the chosen family she had surrounded herself with.
The first half of the book focuses on getting to know the main characters and building the relationship and sexual tension between Brie and Felix. Aside from that, it did feel like the plot didn't kick off until about halfway through the book when we learned the conflict. However, despite the slow start, I still enjoyed the light-hearted, cheery introduction to this world.
When the conflict and villains are finally introduced, the fight scenes and characters involved are entertaining. A misogynistic cult, an anthropomorphic sword, and a cranky pirate captain....what more could a girl ask for?
I will say that I did not realize until about halfway through that this is the second book in a series. However, I genuinely don't feel like I missed anything substantial by not reading the first book.
There was a lot of focus on the sexual tension and relationship between Brie and Felix. There is a moderate level of spice in this book, including a few explicit scenes, light bondage, a werewolf, and an unexpected scene involving tentacles...so if that isn't your thing you may want to skip this one.
Overall, this book was outside of my normal read, but it was a fun, quick read and an easy distraction. I will check the sequel to see how the story plays out...but I don't foresee Fantasy Romance becoming a new normal in my reading rotation. But maybe we'll all be surprised.

Thank you Netgalley and Orbit for the eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
First of all, I loved book 1 and book 2 was even better! I can't explain how much I love these.
That Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted a Love Potion at a Werewolf is so fun - it's about a woman, Brie, who was drinking with some friends at the village festival and when some unwanted attention tries relentlessly to give her a drink spiked with a love potion - she takes it and throws it into a werewolf who was walking by. The werewolf, Felix, immediately falls in love with Brie and says she's his fated mate. It's then a process to see if Felix only loves her because she's his mate or because she yeeted a love potion at him.
Everything about this was fun from beginning to end - there's romance, witty banter, adorable hobbies like knitting, and a true golden retriever (ha) energy male love interest. It had a delightful mystery and a delightfully terrible villain. Just pure gold. I loved the set up for book 3 and can't wait to read it and follow Dante's story.

I really wanted to read this, but it was just way, way too horny for me. I liked the first one because while there was a lot of spice, I enjoyed the plot. Maybe less world building so more horny times? Just not my style, but I enjoyed the ride.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this entire series.
Once again, for such a short story, I STRUGGLED to get through this. While this one was more tolerable than the first one, I don't think I enjoyed it much at all. The main characters were slightly less annoying, I will give you that, but I still didn't believe in the chemistry, and I couldn't make myself care about what happened one way or the other. Again, a definite improvement from the first and I will say that if you did enjoy the first one, then this one would also be a hit for you.
I think the biggest miss for me in particular is the insta-love that so far all books in this series seem to have. This book also has a trope in it that usually doesn't land well for me, and this book is no exception. However, I do know that a lot of people happen to like that kind of thing, so again, take what I'm saying with a grain of salt.
Overall, while I did find this book better than the first, I don't think that I will be continuing with this series.

Thank you to NetGalley and Orbit for the ARC of this book!
I'm so happy the Mead Mishaps is getting more attention and being published by Orbit. These are fantastic books if you want a fantasy-romantic-comedy that will have you laughing out loud. The second book follows Brie and Felix, the werewolf she accidentally threw a love potion at, who now thinks she's he's fated mate. Not only does Lemming give us the fated mate tension and spice, there's also a really fun underlying plot to Mead Mishaps that I'm equally invested in.

While celebrating the return of her friend Cinnamon, Brie tosses a vial away and hits the werewolf Felix. Turns out the love potion was not snake oil and Felix immediately declares himself. As the two get to know one another, Brie will have to fight her attraction to not take advantage of Felix's bespelled state. When girls around the village begin to go missing, everyone comes together to track them down.
Another funny, tongue-in-cheek fantasy romance from Kimberly Lemming. I loved every minute of it.

I know I literally just said in my review for the first book that the humor and insta-love didn't work as much for me despite loving the spice, but HOLY SHIT. Felix and Brie ARE SO HOT AND SO GOOD. Maybe it's because there was a love potion involved, and y'know, sure, maybe I've totally got a weak spot for werewolves... 😂 but I loved this one SO MUCH. Felix was HOT AS FUCK in everything he did. 🥵 Kimberly ramps the spice up here, and I really enjoyed the plot as well! The humor wasn't as like in your face here, imo too so that helped! Just a perfectly executed less than 200 page quick read and it's probably going to be my fave of the three. Loved the introduction of even more characters and I loved the dynamics of Brie and Felix, hands down.

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for an arc of this book. I was given it with the request for a review but all thoughts are my own.
That time I got drunk and yeeted a love potion at a werewolf delivers exactly what the fun title and cover promises. It's such a fun, cozy and funny read. It follows Brie and Felix during their adventures after she accidentally nails him in the head with a love potion. She slowly starts to fall for him, all while worrying the only reason he wanted to be around her was the potion.
It was low stakes, spicy and the chemistry between the two mains was great. The side characters really added a lot of humor and teasing banter. I absolutely loved it. I read it in one sitting and I'm absolutely going to go find the rest in this series and devour them as well.

FELIX, the MMC werewolf of our story is literally a dream come true LOL
OK! Once again, What a freaking JOY! To continue Kimberly Lemmings Mead Mishaps series. She had me rolling on my sheets like a dog and I just couldn’t stop myself from LMAO.
I swear that every single side character in this story deserves a book! It’s rare when I find a story that makes me love every character possible ( minus jack, he can suck a D+^%?€ ) anyways, Kimberly does it once again with this hilarious, cozy fantasy story about demons and monsters and I just want more!! So much more from her XO
Thank you netgalley and Orbit books for providing me a copy of this novel in exchange of an honest review.

This was such a fun time! I giggled and kicked my feet and couldn't put it down. I will be putting this in my store!

First off, I am now a Kimberly Lemming fan. These books are 🔥. The characters are endearing, and the dialogue is so funny. Reading this reminded me of being single and hungover, recounting the night before with my best friends. Even though I received an ARC of this book, I'm going to purchase all three because I love them that much.
A little content warning: This is an adult romance novel and contains graphic sex scenes. There is also violence, dubcon, kidnapping, light BDSM, and some scenes with blood.
I feel like Kimberly looked at her first book and was like, "I can top this." This book was so entertaining and yes, hot. It has a little bit of everything: a golden retriever werewolf, a main female character who is afraid of abandonment, and yes, a little bit of tentacle porn. I still hate the naming conventions though. A cheesemaker named Brie? Cue the groans, and not in a sexy way.
Brie and Felix are so cute together. He just wants to take care of her and she's terrified that the only reason he's interested is because she accidentally threw a love potion at him. While out at the local pub, a creep tries to drug Brie. And when she throws the drink, it hits Felix. It's then that we discover the drink was really a love potion. Brie tries to resist, but who can resist a man who does chores for you and worships you? I mean, I definitely couldn't.
The B-plot of this book is that local single women are also going missing. I won't ruin the plot because this only unfolds in the last 25% of the book. Let's just say it's a bunch of creeps and a lobster. This book is also told through multiple POVs. I liked getting Felix's POVs. It showed how worried he was and how the love potion was such a minor part of how he felt about Brie. Though the potion did make him obsessive and a little bit of a stalker, Felix at least tries to resist.
I recommend this book for fellow romance readers, especially if you like a good monster romance. If you like more swoon-worthy, vanilla sex... this probably won't be for you.
Thanks to NetGalley and Orbit for the ARC.

This is the first book I’ve read in this series and I just need to say - read this book! I absolutely loved it, it had me laughing out loud from page one, snickering and blushing right along with the characters. This book has it all - an engaging plot, lovable characters, steam, spice, mystery and all the character growth and emotions. I love the world and magic system that is created, and I cannot wait to dive into the other books to continue their stories!

The Mead Mishaps series is such fun, definitely for shits and giggles. Great for palette cleansing and getting out of book slumps or the ever brutal book hangover.
We were already introduced to our MCs in book one but are along for their not so meet cute and the aftermath to the fall of Myva in book two.
Perfect for those who enjoy monster romance, but the MMC is golden retriever adjacent.
I will say there was a few times I was caught off guard compared to the first, so I highly recommend double checking trigger warnings. Nothing out of the norm, especially for the genre, I just wasn’t prepared.
Thank you to Kimberly Lemming, Orbit, and NetGalley for the complimentary ebook. I’m leaving this review voluntarily.

This book was so great! I loved the first book in this series and enjoyed this one even more. The romance is cute and spicy, the characters are really well-written, and the chemistry between the FMC and the MMC is amazing! The plot was really quick and fun, and I had an absolutely amazing time reading it. This was also hilarious! I adore Kimberly Lemming's sense of humour and the way she writes her characters. I just started the next book, and cannot wait for more from her!! :)

This was absolutely delightful! Like the first installment, the humor that continues throughout, is top tier. Brie is one of my favorite characters, and her interactions wtih Alexis are what cozy fanatasy dreams are made of. Felix being the best description of a golden retriever is also a very iconic time. I appreciated the inclusion of some fun appendages in the spicy times.
Anything Kimberly Lemming puts out is an autobuy for me, and I will drop absolutely everything when one of her works come out.

A quick,.hilarious and spicy read! These are perfect when you're in between reads or need a break from longer books.

I loved this one too, just couldn't make myself feel AS MUCH as I did for Cin and her himbo dragon. A very close second though. I love Felix, and seeing Brie warm up to him was genuinely incredible. And his extra hands in that one scene....... HOLY moly that was hot. I lost the entire rest of my thought here because that was so good.

This was a very enjoyable fantasy rom-com! I’m not used to modern day language in fantasy books, but I got into it really quickly. I’ll definitely be reading more from this author, especially when I need a palette cleanser from all of the angst-ridden reads.

3.5
The plot of this installment of Mead Mishaps takes place 95% in Brie and Cinnamon’s hometown versus the road trip of the first book. The weird farmer brothers are at it again, this time one named Jack attempts to drug Brie with the titular love potion.
Felix is our friend the werewolf from Cinnamon’s story who just wants his lady love to know he’s serious about her.
There is also a talking sword with an affinity for derrières who steals every scene they’re in.

The MMC, Brie, is a loveable cheese maker. I love that her name is a reference to a type of cheese. One night at the bar she’s given a questionable drink which she throws but misses and ends up hitting the head of Felix, a random werewolf. The drink that was thrown was mixed with a love serum. Felix instantly becomes infatuated with Brie.
The book was so cute and such a fast read. I look forward to reading the rest of the series and see what adventures the characters lead us to next:)
