Reread to refresh my memory for the latest book in this series, and also because there are new covers!! I loved Brie so much! Shes so much more cynical to me than Cinn in the first book, and I love that she’s a reader!! The spice was so, so good!! I could not put this one down! The banter between Brie and Felix was so funny, and I love the continuation of the story from book 1. Not quite as epic of an adventure, but there was still so much happening that it definitely grabbed and held my interest throughout the whole book. Can’t wait to read the next one in the series!

Thank you to Netgalley and Orbit Books for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review!

Super cute. Predictable but better than the first one. I enjoy a spicy snack of a book like this. There’s a lot of representation, a little too much millennial slang, but now I’m used to it with this author. I’m also biased because I enjoy werewolves over demons.

I love reading Kimberly Lemming’s books. While they are mainly for the spice content, I really appreciate the smut with a side of adventure. Or maybe it's an adventure with a side of smut? Either way, this book is a fun, easy read.

I found this to be a quick read, with simple writing, that made it a good palate cleanser after a heavier themed book. Some things that dropped stars for me were just aspects of the smut, but it didn’t keep me from finishing the book. They just weren’t for me. Not yucking anyone’s yum though. I also would say that some aspects of the adventure side can be a wee bit confusing, but you were able to piece it together as time went on.

I loved that we got to keep interacting with characters from Lemming’s first book and go back to Boohail. I love seeing the different aspects of interracial (and interspecies??) relationships (Brie and Felix, and Cin and Fallon). I will say, this book seemed to have maybe a little higher stakes than the first book. Women randomly being abducted for a crazy god’s purpose will do that. All in all, it was enjoyable and I can’t wait to read more about the adventures in Boohail and beyond!

I enjoy this series so much because of the BIPOC but also because of the very real characteristics that the characters have. Like a cheese allergy? Love. This book was a lot more fun for me, I think the way that Felix is so smitten with Brie but she is trying to find a way out the situation is so real. I feel like Kimberly Lemming rights the perfect love stories and fantasy with a splash of spice.

Kimberly Lemming is one of the few authors that can make me laugh, swoon, then immediately do a reread.

Please, Kimberly, PLEASE make more of these fun, cute, smutty cozy fantasy goodness - this one was such a hit I’ve read it thrice!

Thank you NetGalley? Kimberly, and publisher for allowing an arc in exchange for an honest review!

Thank you to Net Galley and Orbit books for the review copy. I have never read a book quite like this one, but I am ready to read everything from Kimberly Lemming. I was smiling from the first page of this monster fantasy romance. The FMC is so quirky and fun. The whole story is kind of zany, but in the best way possible. One of the most enjoyable times I have had reading a fantasy story.

Thank you to Orbit Books and Netgalley for this ARC for in exchange for an honest review.

This is the second installment in the Mead Mishaps saga and this time we are following Brie the cheese maker and Felix the werewolf. The story starts inocently enough, Brie accidently throws a love potion at Felix and from there things get interesting. And by interesting I mean spicy. She of course thinks he's only attracted to her because of the love potion, but he must convince her that she is her true mate. Sigh

I love Felix. That's it, that's all I want to say. But I'll go on, he's funny and sweet and a shifter...all great qualities! This book was another fun romp in the Mead Mishap world and I don't want to leave anytime soon. The pacing is great and it's a quick read. I was able to read this in about a day/day and a half.

I'd like to thank the author, publisher and Netgalley for the arc copy of this novel. That Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted a Love Potion at a Werewolf is the second book in the Mead Mishaps series. It is Brie and Felix's story. While out celebrating with her friends Brie accidentally throws a love potion at Felix who happens to be a werewolf. That's bad enough, except Felix had already realized that Brie was his fated mate. Brie doesn't trust Felix's feelings thinking it is due to the potion and is determined to keep him at arms length. Felix is just as determined to convince her it's true love. Add in two dragons, Felix's adoptive family of orcs, a ship full of pirates, a mystery and other mayhem and you have a rip roaring good time.

There are very few books I can say made me laugh, this was added to the list. Felix is an adorable and sexy Labrador boyfriend (he's a werewolf, get it *wink) and Brie is just adorable. The cast of characters made it fun and light. But the sexy times were still very sexy. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun sexy romance.

I was very intrigued by the premise and plot. The story was cute however to me, the chemistry or love story seemed rushed, insta-lovey and seemed forced. I was hoping to get more of the “cozy” vibe and more antics and banter.

I had no choice but to read this. That tire? BWMW (creature)?

The title promised angst, hilarity, love (love love love) and it delivered on all counts.

I haven’t read the first or third, but now, I have to do that too. I loved Brie. I love how it has a Hallmark business woman kind of premise and an off the rails everything else.

Can’t talk. I’m off to read the others.

4.7

This book is a very fun, light fantasy read with plenty of spice and a very heavy use of modern colloquialisms. The language use can be a bit jarring at times, but it also becomes very funny and adds to the quick pace of the story. The sarcastic talking sword was a great addition, and I can appreciate the happily ever after ending not coming from the love potion.

I honestly requested this for the title and didn't particularly enjoy it. It just wasn't my thing, fantasy aside. However, if you enjoy overwrought fantasy smut (with a side helping of slight moral questionableness), you will probably actually really like this book. There's just not much else to it and I am not that kind of romance reader.

I am not the normal audience for these kinds of books because I usually avoid romance, but this kind of cozy romance/fantasy/comedy is a lot of fun. Yes, it's silly, and readers need to be warned that it's spicy, but this story was quick, sweet, and made me smile several times.
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this

After a hoard of demons on a pirate ship moves into town, Brie throws her drink, which ends up being a love potion, at a persistent suitor who won’t take “no” for an answer. However, Brie misses her target and the love potion ends up hitting a werewolf shifter named Felix, who now claims that Brie is his fated mate. Brie originally dismisses Felix’s claims as the temporary effects of the love potion, but in spending more time with Felix and witnessing how sweet and fun he is, Brie decides to give him a chance, even though it could lead to heartbreak once the love potion wears off. When local women start disappearing, Felix and Brie must work with Cinnamon and Fallon (from book 1 in the Mead Mishaps series) to take down this unknown threat.

That Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted a Love Potion at a Werewolf is a spicy paranormal romance featuring the fated mates, forced proximity, and “touch her and you die” tropes. The world reminded me of the faerie realms in both The Cruel Prince series by Holly Black and the Shadowhunters series by Cassandra Clare, so if you’re a fan of either of these series, you should definitely check out Lemming’s Mead Mishaps series. This would also be perfect for fans of steamy paranormal or monster romances, like the Ice Planet Barbarians series by Ruby Dixon, The Fake Mate by Lana Ferguson, From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L Armentrout, King of Battle and Blood by Scarlett St. Clair, and Court of the Vampire Queen by Katee Robert. Themes and topics present include love and heartbreak, abandonment, war, false gods, death and danger, power and corruption, overcoming fear, discrimination and harassment, female roles, and fate versus free will. Some potential trigger warnings include kidnapping, cults, and imprisonment.

This is the second book in Lemming’s Mead Mishaps series and so I read it as a standalone, but felt like I was missing some of the backstory regarding the setting, society, and characters in this world, which I assume is present in That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon, so perhaps start with book one!

“Sweet dancing baby goats. This man is a monster made out of every book lover I’ve ever pined over.” Felix was definitely swoonworthy book boyfriend material! I liked that Felix was both possessive and bold (like when he changed the nameplate on Brie’s land to his own last name) and yet sweet and thoughtful (like when he eats a grilled cheese that Brie made even though he’s allergic or when he convinces a dragon to stop a storm so that he can take Brie on a romantic boat ride). The fated mates trope was enjoyable and the inclusion of paranormal elements like demons, magic, werewolves, and dragons was fun too. This book was short and fast-paced read (just over 200 pages), making it a great book to pick up at the end of the month or year to help you meet your reading goals!

Even though I liked all the spice and romance, I wasn’t much of a fan of the danger and action (the kidnapping and imprisonment plot) that came into play towards the end of this book. It seemed unexpected and was introduced and resolved rather quickly,, but again, it’s possible that if I had read book one in the series, this plot point may have made more sense.

Overall, this steamy and fun monster romance was enjoyable and would highly recommend it to fans of fast-paced books with werewolves or the fated mates trope.

I’ve been obsessed with this series since reading book one, and this book truly hit it out of the park. Do yourself a favor and make sure you read the books in order, because there is a lot of plot continuation from the first book in the series.

I read this book while going through a particularly difficult season in my life, and this book was one of the few things that made me laugh out loud. It’s truly hilarious, heartwarming, inclusive, and a hug in a book.

Without giving any spoilers, I truly appreciated the themes that pop up towards the end of the book surrounding living life as a woman in today’s times.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for access to an arc of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

Lemming strikes again with providing a witty, spicy, and fun fantasy novel. The story moves very quickly, and the banter between the characters is very heartwarming. The spice is great, and the love story is a fun ride to take.

Brie is a cheesemaker, uncoordinated as she is unlucky. During a night out, a creep tries to hand her a drink after not taking the hint that she was not interested. Of course when she tries to throw the drink in his face, she misses and hits the werewolf behind him. And of course that drink would actually be a love potion. Now Brie has to try to convince the werewolf that she is not actually his true mate, all while trying to figure out why unwed girls are going missing from the town.

This was just as fun as the first installment in the series. I was so excited to see that this was Felix’s book and it did not disappoint. He’s my favorite character in the series so far, and gives off so much golden retriever energy. The book was so fun, full of laugh out loud moments and great spice.

I do wish there had been a little more plot. Compared to the first book, this one felt a little lighter in that aspect. There is enough to move the story along, and set up the remainder of the series, but most of the worldbuilding was done in the first book. But, it’s perfect if you are looking for something quick and spicy to boost your mood.

I will definitely be continuing the series, and can’t wait for more works from Lemming.

Thank you to NetGalley, Orbit Books, and Kimberly Lemming for an advanced copy of That Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted a Love Potion at a Werewolf in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

I am not a fan of the insta-love trope but Kimberly Lemming does it so well and I’m obsessed!

This book is cozy and funny, adventurous and spicy. It’s everything thing I didn’t know I needed in a book. Is it a little silly? Sure but that’s the beauty of it!

The characters Brie and Felix are so fun in this. I love Felixs golden retriever and energy and the fact that Brie is a big monster romance reader. Would recommend!

I really don’t enjoy leaving a “bad” review, but this book really wasn’t for me. Just in the first couple pages most of the male characters had already put their hands on female characters inappropriately, then the FMC is throwing things at a male character just because she can I guess… things all happen very quickly, and when the werewolf “imprinted”, it just really lost my interest. This may be for some, just like I said, was not for me.
