Imagine meeting up with who you always knew as your older sister to be told “ I’m not your sister Erin I am your mother “ …
Impactful opening chapter than drew me straight in !!
This book follows the story of Erin and the trials that she is facing in the current day . Her daughter Harriet is toying with the idea of moving to the USA with her dad , her mother has deteriorating dementia , work stresses when she is thrown this bombshell .
Gut wrenching story line , Erin’s struggle to get the truth from her mum before the dementia takes all her memories away , finding out why Imogen felt she had to give her up to discover the devastating truth , looking into post natal desperation and the impact it had on her birth mother .
Superb book whilst emotional really enjoyed it .
Thank you @netgalley for the opportunity to read this for my honest review . Brilliant book !
A truly heartbreaking story of 4 women. A unapologetic look at the risks and sacrifices made for a child. Hooked from page one.
Another brilliant book from this author who always tells a great story with such good characters I felt as though I knew them all personally.
It is a sad, heartbreaking storyline, beautifully written but a lovely perfect conclusion which I can thoroughly recommend.
Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC which kept me wanting to read more and more.
"Please Take My Baby" is a story about a woman who learns the truth about her childhood and mother while battling decisions about her own child and job... This book is a heartbreaking story that's written very well with lots of detail but the ending let me down a little as I expected and wanted it to go into more detail about what happens next! The book really sucked me in from the beginning as there is a lot going on with different topics (her mother, her daughter, her job, her ex) but it was easy to follow and kept me reading long into the night!
Please take my baby is a sweet story of the complex relationships between a family of 4 women. While I enjoyed the story, I felt like the plot was a bit slow and kept waiting for something to happen that never really did..
A heart breaking story of a multi generational family that has broken completely apart because of hidden secrets.
Erin, a hard working single mom, has her world ripped from her when she discovers that her family dynamic is not what she always believed . While discovering the truth about tragedies and betrayals in her own childhood, she is also faced with decisions concerning her own teenage daughter.
This book was a powerful look at mother-daughter relationships and doing what is best for your child even when it is difficult. Can there be forgiveness in a family that is built on betrayal? Can you let go of someone you love when it might be best for them?
This novel was a complicated family drama packed full of surprising moments. It was interesting enough to keep me quickly turning pages to reveal more unexpected secrets.

Erin, a divorced single mom, who finds out about her family’s past as she navigates through raising a teenager and moving them in with her Mum who has progressing dementia.. It hits home for me as my mother is at the beginning stages of dementia and I’ve moved to be with her seeing it get much worse.
It’s beautiful writing. The way she shares about memories and the love that can only come from mothers is magical. This is a great book about mothers, daughter and grandmothers bonding and making up for years missing one another, as well as what it takes to get there.
A great HEA filled with hope.

Erin, a single mother caring for her ailing mother and teen daughter, is searching for Imogen, a mysterious figure in her life. As its plot is presented, it depicts the strength that a parent must bring to the table through family, love, pain, and resilience in the face of adversity. It's an exploration of hope and courage that will resonate with many readers.
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for sharing this book with me. This is my first read by Emma Robinson and I look forward to her future work.
I just love the way Emma Robinson writes her books. She is sure to drag you in and make you feel every single thing throughout the pages. It is very rare that I cry, especially reading, but I think every single one of Emma books has made me cry. This book is no exception!
I loved the characters in this book. Characters that are very relatable to every day life.
Mother daughter relationships are something that always hit me hard as a parent myself. Erin is such a lovable character, and I found myself routing for her to get everything she wanted despite all of the hurdles that approached her on her way. Her relationship with Harriet, her daughter, is a relationship I strive to have with my daughter.
I can't say much, without giving the journey of this book away. And ruining it for everyone else. But all I will say is if your looking for a book to tug at your heartstrings, a book to take you in it's grips and not let you go... this is it!
Thanks to Net Galley for granting this book in return for a review. I really enjoy Emma Robinson books her style of writing is superb. Another great read hooked from page one to the end such a realistic and heart rending story with lots of emotions.
First time reading Robinson's work and I'm a fan. The way the story unfolded had me hooked from the prologue. Well done, interesting to read. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. Five stars.
A book of love, forgiveness, heartbreak, and family as we meet a young woman who finds a photo of her mother with another baby, leading to questions that can only be answered by someone who may not remember.
Erin always wanted a sister and yet, did she have one that she never knew?
When she asks her mother about this "baby", she becomes agitated and refuses to speak about this child in the photo.
How can Erin learn the truth?
This is truly a touching story that had my heart. It's a quick read and one that will stick with me for a while.
Thank you to @Netgalley and @Bookulture for this beautiful ARC and allowing me to read and provide my own review. Well done!
All it took was one photo to change how Erin looked at her life. As Erin cares for her mother she is reminded of the woman who raised her.
…
Please Take My Baby hits you in the heart. A direct punch in the feels. Emma Robinson came out punching. There was no holding back with those words from Imogen to Erin.
…
Erin’s eighty year old mother Ava lives with her and her daughter Harriet ever since dementia stole her memories. Erin’s life has been turned upside down between the divorce, her mother’s dementia, Imogen, and her daughter’s decision to move away.
…
Emma Robinson tells a story about Erin’s life as a mother, daughter, and divorcee. The early years of living with Ava as a mother is filled with pages of a woman who took control of Erin’s life. In between pages of her past upbringing are pages of life lessons with Erin learning to navigate being a mother who shares custody of her daughter while living back home with her mother who suffers from dementia. Navigating life’s changes from new management at work, her daughters interest in moving, and finding out who Imogen is.
…
What I liked is how Erin organized her time between work, taking care of her mother and daughter, while also taking time for herself. I liked how Erin dealt with her ex-husband. It’s not easy to navigate a relationship with someone you’re no longer with. When children are in the picture making time and adjustments is par for the course. Emma Robinson showed that life isn’t easy. It’s messy and uncertain. With a plan of action life can be sorted into categories and dealt with accordingly. I like how realistic Emma Robinson portrayed both sides of this illness from Erin’s perspective as well as Ava’s. It’s a challenging illness where everybody reacts differently. I enjoyed the way Emma Robinson brought the topic of being a mother into the story both from Ava’s perspective and Erin’s. Dropping that secret about Imogen led to a curious game of wondering what happened. It was fabulous trying to figure that out.
…
I felt a familiar sense of understanding regarding Erin’s situation with dementia. Time is if the essence when dealing with memory loss and realizing the person who has raised you has answers to questions about your past. In order for those memories to survive they need to be documented and discussed before time runs out.
…
The plot is interesting. It’s multi-layered with Erin at the forefront of the story. Between dealing with her mother who has dementia, a teenage daughter moving forward in life, work and finding out the truth about Imogen it’s all very realistic.
…
Emma Robison created a realistic situation about relationships between parents and their children. I enjoyed the various ways Emma represented each relationship by describing how each situation affected both the parents and the children. Each situation opens up a new chapter in their lives. I appreciated the ingenuity of Emma’s advice and thought process to formulate a plan of action.
Emma Robinson has a hit on her hands with this one I think! Great storyline that really tugs at your heart! I was sobbing at the end.
What a heart wrenching story! This is a story about a huge family secret and learning to love one another through conflict, dementia, and upheaval. Enjoyed this!
What would you do if you found out your mother was really your grandmother? And your mother left you as a baby never to return. And the woman you thought was your mother has dementia and can no longer answer your questions?
This is one of those books that feels like you are just peeking into someone else’s life. No embellishments or crazy schemes just real people faced with hard choices that did the best they could, or what they believed was the best thing, all for the love of a child. I absolutely loved this book and will be reading @emmarobinsonuk other works. If you are looking to pick this one up you don’t have to wait long, publication date is October 17, 2023

Wow this was a tear jerker. I had to take some time reading this one. I felt all the emotions and it just broke me but also built me back up again. I love a good family story and this just go into it knowing it’s rough but good
If you're in the mood for a good cry, Please Take My Baby is the book for you. I cried both tears of heartbreak and joy. The characters are relatable as they navigate major life challenges, and they're written so well I felt like they were real people that I knew. The ending is painful, but beautiful. I highly recommend this!
What a wonderful book portraying the hardships a mom has to go through, just to make the right decision- if there ever is a “right” decision. I truly felt for Imogen, the author wrote her character very well. But the twist was definitely not something I was expecting. This book definitely had me choking up.
