This book was such an emotional book on the joys and tough times of motherhood. It was really good to see the book raising awareness on postpartum depression and psychosis. Such a moving and inspiring book
In writing her books Emma Robinson normalises real life. She writes about relatable issues facing the women in her books. Life is never straightforward and this is what I always feel that she brings to her novels. The pulls and sacrifices that we face, the guilt of making everyone happy whilst maybe making yourself unhappy.
This wonderful novel is both heartbreaking yet heartwarming. Do not read if you havent got some tissues to hand, you will definitely need them.
Every once in a while a writer comes along and refreshes our notions of what fiction can do . . . Buy this book, and prepare to be blasted by the brilliance inside
Another tearjerker from Emma Robinson that also had moments that made me smile and Jasmine was a great character that added to the story, my only downside is now that I’m finished is waiting for Emma’s next book.
A feel good story. In the beginning you are getting to know the characters and a huge twist happens not to far into the book.
It was a lovely story that leaves your heart happy. Thank you for the opportunity to read this!
This talented author has written a page turner. Generations of women have their secrets. Love…family and friends…careers…letting go…surprises…the main character discovers secrets in her family that change her life. At the same time, she is dealing with her mother’s dementia, and she is also letting her daughter go to America with her father and his new family. Not easily accomplished. Tears and laughter bring this novel to a resounding end. I would like to read part two if there is one. Enjoy. Thanks to Netgalley.
