I got this for my 9 year old who loves this style of drawing and loves to draw such things. Sadly she found it too difficult to follow and the jumps between the stages too much. So it wasn’t of much use to her. From a layman’s point of view the book looked well presented and nicely done.

My kids have had so much fun learning how to draw all of these cute things.
It was easy enough for my 7, 10, and 12 year old children to follow and learn to draw.

A sweet book that contains step by step instructions on how to draw the cuteness that is Kawaii.
Instructions are visual as well as written with multiple steps helping to create ultimate cuteness.
The food and plants were definitely my favourite. A great gift for someone looking to create Kawaii!

Easy for my 9 and 7 year-olds to follow, this book is full of adorable designs to copy and try recreating. Favourites from my 9 year-old include Cute Sushi, Cute Little Frog, Kitty Girl and Frog Girl. My 7 year-old loves recreating the Cute Facial Expressions. My youngest tends to get impatient when drawing does not go her way but not with this book. It’s a gorgeous pastel theme with pages clearly laid out and easy to follow. There are some top tips on materials to use at the start of the book. All in all a wonderful, adorable book.

Kawaii drawing is very different from many other kawaii books in that these aren't tiny cute characters you draw and colour- like milkshakes with happy faces and tiny bears, etc.
Each one of these is a character from the author's brain which she shows you how to draw from the very start. What makes this different is that this one shows you how to draw digitally AND how to colour it in with layers and highlights and shadows. This is something that I have been looking for for a long time.
I was never sure how to draft layers and lock aspects so I could use gradients and this tells you how to do that.
Brilliantly illustrated and the side instructions are excellent, concise and direct.

In Castaneda's Kawaii Drawing, we are offered a variety of super cute how to draws. I find that with a lot of kawaii how to draw books, the items feel repetitive, but in this book, all the drawings feel fresh and new. So an original set of drawings for even a seasoned kawaii drawer.

The steps are clear and easy to follow also.

I have always loved Kawaii-style artwork and this book is a great drawing guide for anyone wanting to try out the technique for themselves. The illustrations are fun and colorful and the steps are easy to follow. Kids and adults could use this book and create tons of fun masterpieces to share. Highly recommended drawing book!

It was interesting drawing instructions, and would probably give to my little sister. She is a teenager who likes the kawaii style.

Super cute, step-by-step drawing tutorials. Easy to follow and practice improving your drawing skills. Included are tips on supplies needed and tips to make yourself a better artist. Colorful and adorable, this book would make a fun gift for all ages. Love it so much!!

Ho apprezzato molto la parte iniziale del libro, in cui vengono illustrati i materiali utilizzati e molti consigli su come iniziare a creare i vostri design kawaii.
Anche lo stile dell'autrice è molto particolare e diverso dai soliti kawaii soffici e rotondi.
La parte dei tutorial step by step, sebbene fatta molto bene e con numerosi step per ogni disegno, è decisamente indirizzata verso un'audience che ha sicuramente un po' di esperienza nel disegno, sia digitale che tradizionale, e non ha una sorta di gradualità nella difficoltà dei design.
Devo dire che però nel suo complesso è un libro molto interessante e che sarà molto utile a chi vuole sviluppare questo stile.

I really appreciated the initial part of the book, which illustrates the materials used and many tips on how to start creating your own kawaii designs.
The author's style is also very particular and different from the usual soft and round kawaii.
The step by step tutorial part, although done very well and with numerous steps for each drawing, is definitely aimed at an audience that certainly has some experience in drawing, both digital and traditional, and does not have a sort of gradualness in the difficulty of the designs.
However, I must say that overall it is a very interesting book and that it will be very useful to those who want to develop this style.

I don't know anything about drawing. I don't have much artistic talent. However, I do love doing little scribbles every once in a while. I've had some good drawings but I really need to see what I want to draw and have some guidance. I picked this up to help with my scribbling. I have to say this is awesome! The author takes you through her favorite materials and just really goes into detail on the different types of drawing you can do. I do love too that she shows you how to draw different things. You can learn how to draw people, animals, and food. There really is so many descriptions. If you're an inspiring artist or just want to draw for fun, I highly recommend checking this book out.

I absolutely loved this book! The step by step instructions are incredibly helpful with breaking down the building blocks for drawing in this style.

The front has wonderful references for proportions and even facial expressions. Everything is explained simply and with a hint of the artist/author’s personality.

This is definitely an art tool that I would keep on hand to reference!

This is an adorable little book that teaches you how to draw adorable little things. It's easy to follow and with step by step instructions, so you will be drawing kawaii little plants, animals, and people in no time!

OMG how much cuteness is this?! This book is for anyone — not just young people who want to draw cute things! I’m an old-timer, graphic designer, and this is not my style but one I’d love to learn how to do for fun. The layout of this is so engaging, and, who doesn’t need more cuteness in their life? I love the sushi section. I will definitely spend some time going through these tutorials on my iPad. Thanks to the author for sharing such cute drawings step by step. I’ll be looking up the other books in this series or by this author.

As a chronic doodler I really enjoyed looking through this and trying new styles of drawing. I will be dipping in and out of this in the future.

My daughter and I have been making our way through drawing various things in this book. She is a huge Sanrio fan and now that she's getting into art, it's been fun doing drawings similar to those characters.

Wow! I’ve never been a great artist but I love to doodle kawaii things. This book was fun to read through and learn. Definitely made it seem easy and now I have the confidence to really give it a try!

I love to annotate books so being able to use sleepy bunny and the expressions as my “comments” while I annotate will be a lot of fun!

I really enjoyed Kawaii Drawing! The tutorials were really helpful, especially in drawing cute kawaii people. I enjoyed practicing with the book and the tips on shading, depth, and perspective. I want to add it to my collection when it publishes for sure!

This is a book that I’m going to have to buy in physical format, it’s so cute and cozy, super easy to follow and I found the tips about the use of iPads and apps to draw on really helpful, Iv not known where to start with ipad drawing apps for what feels like forever and now I have some great directions.
I love that the author shares all their recommendation for brands of pens and papers to use, it feels like you’re getting all the trade secrets!
The art projects are super cute, easy to follow step by step and will make anyone feel like an artist!
Definitely one il be buying as gifts this Christmas and something that could be used time and time again.
