A science loving Duke falls for a much younger Deb when their beloved poodles get mixed up and then dognapped and they are forced to work together to get them back. Equally laugh out loud funny and full of heart, this is a standout historical Regency romance that is sure to delight Bridgerton fans! Good on audio too narrated by Mark Meadows. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital and audio copy in exchange for my honest review!!

I just finished listening to this and the contented smile refuses to leave my face. This was a light & delightful story full of hijinx and an untypical romance. This was not a wooing story, the Duke is not that type of man but he is kind, smart & surprisingly charming when he puts forth the effort. The bumbling kidnapping of Elizabeth’s dog leads to mistaken dog identity and a mystery that pulls them together. Despite having seemingly nothing in common, the more time Michael and Elizabeth spend together, the closer they get. Add in a misguided, somewhat lovable kidnapped and his love interest and you get double the romance. I truly enjoyed listening to this story. I especially got a tickle out of how slimy the narrator made Peter sound, it really set the tone to dislike him.

I thought a male narrator was perfect for this book and Mark Meadows does a wonderful job! He was engaging and enjoyable to listen to helped the pacing of the story move forward. Thank you for this opportunity!

Every Duke Has His Day by Suzanne Enoch
Narrator, Mark Meadows
So cute and sweet with a bit of snark. I was not familiar with this author or narrator but will be seeking them both out for further enjoyment.
This is a Regency romance with humor and multiple dognappings. Michael is a tactless, logical, scientist who just happens to be a a member of the peerage and Elizabeth is a pert, pretty, and clever young lady. Their poodles get tangled up in Hyde Park and chaos ensues.
Jimmy and Sally also have a romance that ends happily. And then there are the dogs, but no spoilers.
I would like to see this turn into a series because I just don’t want the story to be over.
Narration was excellent with very good male and female voices, different accents and different ages of characters all done very well.

Thank you NetGalley, St. Martin’s Press, and Dreamscape Media for gifting me the audiobook of Every Duke Has His Day by Suzanne Enoch.

If you are looking for a fun, cozy Regency romance - look no further! Michael, the Duke of Woriton, is a man of science and really doesn’t want to deal with the ton, but work is a four-letter word for the aristocracy. His aunt, of course, wants to drag him kicking or screaming back to the ballroom. She leaves him taking care of her dog, Lancelot.

Elizabeth Dockering is the diamond of the season and is being pursued by most of the eligible bachelors of the season. She is the opposite of Michael in every way. Her dog, Galahad, is the bane of her suitors exist.

Enter a dognapper, missing puppies, and romantic hijinks ensue.

A fun story that is expertly narrated by Mark Meadows.

"Every Duke Has His Day" by Suzanne Enoch is a delightful Regency rom-com that blends romance, comedy, and a touch of mystery, all set against the backdrop of the elegant Regency era. This audiobook receives a well-deserved 5-star rating from me for its entertaining plot, endearing characters, and witty narrative.

The story revolves around Michael Bromley, Duke of Woriton, a brilliant but absent-minded scientist, and Elizabeth "Bitsy" Dockering, a charming debutante known as the Diamond of the season. The misadventures begin when their black poodles, Lancelot and Galahad, are inadvertently swapped, setting off a chain of comedic events that will leave listeners in stitches.

This fusion of screwball comedy and traditional Regency romance is a delightful blend of humor and history mixed with genuine character development. Michael and Elizabeth's evolving relationship, from reluctant allies to burgeoning love, is portrayed with authenticity and charm, befitting their slow-burn romance.

The characters come to life through the outstanding narration and dynamic dual point-of-views. Michael's scientific perspective adds a unique dimension to the story, and Elizabeth's vivacity shines through, making them a compelling and engaging pair. The secondary characters, including the well-portrayed villain and the unexpected secondary romance, further enrich the narrative.

Enoch weaves historical elements into the story, immersing the listener in the world of Regency London. The science experiments conducted by the Duke of Woriton add an intriguing layer to the narrative, showcasing Enoch's attention to detail. This story will enchant fans of the genre. It offers an entertaining blend of humor, romance, and historical flavor, making it a must-listen for audiobook and a must read book.

Every Duke Has His Day
Audiobook Review.

A reclusive Duke who's a science nerd + the Diamond of the Season who's main focus is parties and suitors + a double poodle dognapping = one adorably funny regency romance.

This was my first book by Suzanne Enoch and it was a delightful surprise. The main characters were fantastic, the meet-cute adorable and I loved that both hero and heroine learned that their was more to themselves then they would have ever known without each other.

I also love that even the main side characters were well fleshed out and had their own story without it taking over.

Also I will say the narration on this story was done quite well. Narrator Mark Meadows had a smooth easy to listen to voice. Even with a quicker playback speed he was easy to understand.

Thank you to the Author, Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for an ARC of this audiobook.

All thoughts and opinions are my own, I don not accept money for reviews. Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read this book early.

This was absolutely adorable! A cute, clean period romance with dogs, what more would one want. Something that works in this books favor is the multiple POVs. Sometimes, where there is too many people telling the story, it can get messy and confusing, but with everything that happened it needed a cast telling the story. I believe it is five characters that narrate the events, and they all contribute to the plot, not just add filler.

Multiple POV, period piece, clean romance, poodles, thievery, academic duke, diamond of the season, age gap, science, London, regency period

Spolier section

Overall, my only grievance with this book is that it isn’t longer! I want to read more of Elizabeth and Michael. That love confession at the end had me crying in my singleness. The way that they compliment each other is just beautiful, a grumpy isolationist scientist and a young woman who loves parties and socializing. And by the end, they really they need the others influence in their life to balance out their passions.

Michael Blumely, the Duke of Loriton is a moody, rude outcast. Michael is more interested in studying science than finding a boring wife. Sweet, sociable, Elizabeth “Bitsy” Dockering is in her second season in London. The two have nothing in common, except similar black poodles. Michael has been left caring for the well-behaved Lancelot, while Bitsy dotes on her man-hating Galahad. Peter Cordray is Bitsy’s most insistent marriage prospect. Peter has decided that the demon dog Galahad needs to go so that Bitsy will give him the same amount of attention. Peter pays a man to steal the dog so he can pursue his proposal to Bitsy. An untimely dog swap happens, multiple dog thefts and two people completely unsuited for each other are thrown together to try and find their dogs. Can Michael and Bitsy learn to work together and find the missing dogs? Will they find love along the way?

Narrated by Mark Meadows has narrated over 80 audiobooks. Meadows delivers a wonderful narration of the story and gives each character a unique and distinctive voice. I especially loved his voice for the weaselly Peter Cordray. This audiobook was a wonderful treat. Listeners will find this an enjoyable experience.

My thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this audiobook ARC. This is my honest review.

I so enjoyed this book! The narration was excellent and I found the story and characters quite engaging. It was cute and funny and the characters were relatable and interesting. I truly enjoyed both Michael and Betsy, as well as Jim and Sally as well. The tropes were fun and worked well with the story. It was an enjoyable, light, romance.

I did like Michael's penchant for science and his discoveries that are focused on helping. And the way he thought deeply about those less fortunate than himself and kept doing small things to try to help.

Overall a nicely done romance, funny and charming and with a happy ending for all the main characters.

I really enjoyed this book. It was cute, and I found the storyline engaging. The chemistry of the characters worked well, and I especially liked the side romance between the dog napper and his female friend, in fact I might have been rooting for them more than the two main characters.

If you like cute and very cheesy romances this book might be for you.

I listened to this book as an audio book, and found the narrator to be easy to listen to, and he used enough different voices to be engaging, but not so many to seem overly complicated. I would listen to this narrator again.

I received an advanced copy of this audiobook from netgalley and dreamscape media. All opinions are my own.

Oy with the poodles already!

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the audioARC of Every Duke Has His Day. This book surprised me with how much I enjoyed it.

Fair warning, the tropes are troping in this one and I initially thought it was going to be corny.

We’ve got:
- Grumpy/Sunshine
- Smart Outcast/Popular
- Unlikely alliance
- Opposites attract

The book follows an over the top, unlikely dognapping plot. The whole thing was camp and hilarious. Was it cheesy, absolutely, but it somehow added to my enjoyment. I definitely recommend this if you are looking for a fun, easy read!

Is this the most well-written and thoroughly researched historical romance? No. Is it compulsively enjoyable from start to finish? Absolutely!!

Michael Bromley might be a duke but wants nothing to do with high society. He is a man of science and wants to be left alone with his experiments. Unfortunately, when his beloved aunt goes away and leaves her precious poodle in his care, his days of quiet study are about to come to an end. It all begins when he takes Lancelot (the poodle) for a stroll in the park and ends up having a mixup with socialite Elizabeth Dockering's dog Galahad. Even worse, he begins to have feelings Elizabeth even though they live in very different worlds.

I mostly enjoyed the narration, although I would've liked different narrators for the different POVs. Men rarely do women's voices well and this is no exception. He did a great job with the villain's slimy voice though and made my skin crawl every time!

Also, very slight spoiler but I wanted to reassure any dog loving readers who might want to know if any dogs die in this book. I am happy to report (skip if you don't want a very slight spoiler) that they do not!

Sometimes you need a happy ever after rom-com book and this is the one! Author does a tremendous job creating characters you love to hate or love and really ties everything up with a nice bow with that last sentence. ❤️ Highly recommend for anyone that loves romance, comedy, or just a good book.

Every Duke Has His Day by Suzanne Enoch

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
No spice
So much sweetness

Michael Bromley, the Duke of Woriton, cares nothing for society, preferring his experiments to simpering conversations until his aunt asks him to take care of her pet poodle, Lancelot. Through a series of unfortunate events, Lancelot gets stolen and Michael and Elizabeth Dockering, a diamond of the season with many suitors including one dude who just doesn’t know when to give up, team up to save their dogs from what appears to be a pet snatching ring.

This book was so freaking cute. Michael is awkward and rational where Elizabeth is polished and emotionally intelligent. They both balance one another out so well. But I think the real stars of the story are Jimmy and Sally the side characters from the Rookeries. You fall in love with them as they navigate their way through trials together and their HEA is so sweet.

This book is for you if you are a fan of historical romance, puppies, dukes, mysteries, opposites attract, and adorable side characters.

Thank you so much to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for this e-arc in exchange for my honest opinions.

I was really excited to give this one a listen! Unfortunately it just was not for me. There wasn’t enough action and I felt a little bored during parts of the book. It was a cute story line, but I felt like it was dragged out a bit too much.

Honestly this really wasn't the story for me. I found myself not invested with the characters nor care how their storylines panned out.
I did listen to the audio and I think the reader did a great job. This book just fell flat to me unfortunately.

Missing dogs, an eccentric Duke, and falling in love!
Michael and Elizabeth meet when Elizabeth's poodle knocks Michael and his aunts poople into a pond. Not the best of circumstances, but it sets off a wild chain of events that had me both laughing and gasping in shock. The Duke is relatable, especially to those of us who have become content as homebodies.
The audio book is well paced and the voices are well done.
Overall, it was very enjoyable!

I received an ARC of this book for review consideration but all opinions are my own.

Debutantes, Dukes, and Poodles, oh my! These may not be the ingredients of a scientific study, but they are perfect for a romance. The Duke of Woriton is busy with his scientific discoveries, but promises to walk his aunt’s dog. He gets tangled with Miss Elizabeth Dockering in a “meet rude” and their poodles get mixed up! Then someone steals the wrong dog and they have to work together to find their lost poodles. Meanwhile they lose their hearts.

The reader does an excellent job of creating unique voices for each character. The villain in particular has a drawling voice. This is an enchanting Regency romance that is sure to find listeners!
