These wonderfully deep and witty stories have stood the test of time. The situations are bizarre, but you'll recognize people you know in the characters. This is brilliant social satire, but most of the points made are just as true and relevant today as they were in Munro's day -- who among us doesn't know someone who would really benefit from an unrest cure? And don't we meet in our daily news countries that manufacture more history than can be consumed locally?
