Not only am I excited to discover a new poet in Rose McLarney, but also that she’s one who writes of things that push all the buttons for me. With Appalachia being the backdrop of this book, I found it to be reminiscent of Ron Rash’s work. This is especially thrilling to me as he’s long been a favorite of mine.
In ‘Colorfast’ the author touches on or addresses such topics as mother/daughter relationships, childhood memories, nature, grief, and what could be better, kittens! I am definitely looking forward to reading her previous work. Outstanding!
