Unfortunately, I haven't read the first book and I have to admit there were loads of questions at the very beginning. However, these were answered in the book which made me glad.

I'm definitely now going to read the first book, but I feel like you can easily read this one without reading the first one (I will probably change my mind after I will read the first one).

This book overall, broke my heart as it's emotionally a rollercoaster. I was rooting for the two main characters so much and I was hoping that they would stay together, it felt like they really deserved it.

Thanks to NetGalley, Oneworld Publications and the author for offering me an ARC in exchange for my honest review, I honestly loved it.

Damn, my mental state is shot at right now..

This is the sequel I needed for the first book and it somehow broke my heart EVEN MORE than the first did. Let me tell you if you read this you WILL need tissues. The writing was great and I’m so SO glad that they got their happy ending, if they didn’t I would not be happy!

I also enjoyed how much this focused on her recovery too, it was interested to read and added more depth to the story.

This book has ruined me for any other book!
I am so glad Amber Smith did a sequel for The Way I Used To Be. It is everything I wanted and so much more.
I read this in a matter of hours, stopping only to wipe away my ugly cry tears.
I have already preordered two copies for friends, it is a must read for 2023

Book Review 📚
The Way I am Now by Amber Smith - 4.5/5 ⭐

This took me way longer to review because, me being me, hadn't read the first before requesting to read this one. Fear not, I have now read the first and completed the second!

I thought book 1 was an emotional rollercoaster, but book 2 outdoes it. Massively. I'm just reading the whole thing and wishing/praying that Josh and Eden get that HEA. It's so heartfelt and surreal. I don't want the book to end, it could of been double the size and I still would of enjoyed it.

Smith captures emotions and feelings amazingly and it's so beautifully done. You really feel it all as your reading. I can't think of another author that has the writing skills to fully captivate you into the feelings of the characters, so deeply.

Thank you to NetGalley and Oneworld Publications for allowing me to read this ARC - this is an HONEST review from my own personal opinion.

When I finished The Way I Used to Be however many years ago I didn't expect or feel like it needed a sequel. I did however immediately add The Way I Am Now to my TBR when I found out about it's existence, especially when I found out it'd be focusing on Eden and Josh!

I absolutely flew through this book. Every night I picked it up became a case of "just one more chapter" until suddenly it was 2am and my eyes were blood shot. I really appreciated how this book handled Eden's recovery and depicted the hearing/trial. We also got chapters from Josh's point of view which I enjoyed.

I honestly cannot get over this book 😭 Now I have nothing to look forward to anymore. I ABSOLUTELY loved that Josh and Eden FINALLY got their much deserved happy ending : ) Everything about this book was amazing, it lived up to the expectations from ' the way I used to be'. I wish I could go back in time and read this book for the very first time again. THANK YOU NETGALLEY SO MUCH for allowing me the opportunity to read this book early : )
