Five strangers became friends when they joined a stalking group. They are each other’s support and motivation. At Nat’s wake they receive a note saying in “10 days one of them dies”. It’s time they put matters into their hands and get revenge. Thank you to NetGalley and publisher.

I tend to enjoy C.L. Taylor's psychological thrillers, and I admit that I was fully intrigued as soon as I first heard about Every Move You Make. The stalking angle, the murder, the threat that one of the others is next... It sounded like the perfect premise for a suspenseful and nail-biting ride, and I've been looking forward to finally read it. I'm not surprised at all that I ended up having an excellent time with this story! Sure, some aspects are a bit too farfetched or convenient, but there is no denying that this story delivers one heck of a ride.

What gave this story even more impact is the fact that the author herself was a victim of stalking in the past, and I applaude her for taking such a negative experience and turn it into this gem. I can't even imagine what it would be like having to live with a stalker, and the author does a fantastic job portraying these emotions in a genuine way. Every Move You Make isn't your regular stalker psychological thriller though. Instead of just one stalker and one victim, there are actually multiple of both in play. On top of this, the victims decide to fight back and stalk their stalkers instead... Which was probably one of the things I loved most about the plot.

Every Move You Make uses a multiple POV structure, and I do have to say that it took me a little while to properly keep them apart and remember every detail about their situation and private life. At times they even started to sound similar? I think maybe there was initially a bit too much focus on background, red herrings and other unrelated information, and this slowed down the pace a little. That said, things pick up soon enough, and there is plenty of action to be found along the way. And those twists! Especially once you get closer to the deadline, there is a LOT going on. It's true that some of the twists were a bit too convenient (why do cell phones always have to die in critical moments?!), while others were a bit too farfetched. If you can look past that, the story is without doubt highly entertaining though.

As for the characters... I can't say that I really warmed up to them, but somehow I wasn't too bothered by that. I think this has a lot to do with the fact that there is SO much happening and you will find yourself more worried about the deadline and other events. Every Move You Make has a bit of an unreliable narrator vibe, as you are never completely sure if everyone is telling the truth. This feeling will only become more accute once certain information is revealed... And while I did guess part of the twist, I never saw the full truth coming.

If you are looking for an entertaining and tense psychological thriller focused on stalking and don't mind suspending your disbelief in parts, Every Move You Make will be a great match. I unfortunately found this lacking in the creep and suspense I expected from a stalker story. It was also weird that a stalker would take on a group for the purpose of them knowing their true target.

I couldn’t get connected with the characters at all, so I didn’t get invested in the stalker. Not for me.

Wow! what a good read. CL Taylor kept me reading and reading right until the end.
Alex, Lucy, River, Bridget and Natalie are all victims of stalking and have come together in a support group.
Then Natalie is killed by her stalker by her front door and everything changes.
A wreath is given to them at the funeral and it has a significant date on it. with RIP. The trouble is the date means something to several of them and they don't know who the threat is aimed at.
We follow the group through the days leading to the date and witness the behaviour of the stalkers, see the manipulation and the lengths they go to to destroy their victims lives.
Although it's fiction, it's a very interesting read.

This is exceptionally written. I was hooked & couldn’t put it down. It sad that people feel the need to harass people, after a relationship breaks down or friendships or just being nice to someone online.
This is an easy to follow story about stalking but has twists & turns to keep you engaged.
I loved it & recommend everyone to read this book.

3⭐
Genre ~ psychological thriller
Setting ~ London
Publication date ~ March 28, 2024
Page Count ~ 422 (59 chapters)
Audio length ~ 10 hours 8 minutes
Narrator ~ Clare Corbett
POV ~ multiple 3rd
Featuring ~ stalking, murder

Natalie, Alexandra, Lucy, Bridget & River have formed a victim of a stalking support group. They have a What’s App thread they use to constantly check in on each other to make sure everything is okay. Then they are down to 4 when Natalie is murdered. They form a plan in order to keep their stalkers at bay. The plan is a good one, but is it good enough to keep the remaining 4 alive?

We get each of their POV’s along with a countdown to the day they think one of them will be murdered next. Besides the stalkees, we have a bunch of other characters to keep track of like their significant others, coworkers and the stalkers, too. This did make it feel long, but there was enough action and dumb choices that kept me reading into the night. The twist was both shocking and not really much so. Overall, middle of the road fine.

I definitely appreciate the author sharing her personal story in the note at the end that gave the whole reasoning behind this book. It gave her some first hand knowledge that she put forth in the character development making the fear they felt seem realistic.

A C L Taylor book.. you just can’t beat them. Also available as an audio book, narrated by the amazing Clare Corbett. This one really gave me the jitters, I loved the twists. It has you rooting for the characters to catch their stalkers. 5 stars! Thanks to NetGalley and publishers for the opportunity to read the arc of Every move you make by C L Taylor.

This author is one of my go to authors and I know that I will 'enjoy' everything that she has written. This one is really intense and kept me captivated, it kept me up late at night as I had to finish. All the little threads were cleared up but as always there is a surprise. The author's endword was moving and explained why this theme was so important.

It was really hard to imagine that people can do this on two levels - first the stalking and then having the courage to take it in their own hands.
A definite read.

Also a nice note was to have the bookclub questions at the end. They were thought provoking and I gave them some thought.

What a compulsive read. I couldn’t put it down. It’s a very emotional book based very loosely on the authors own experience of being stalked but in the fictional tale this is taken to a whole new level. Natalie, Alexandra, Bridget, Lucy and River are all victims of stalkers and have formed a small self help group, on a closed WhatsApp group, to support each other. But when one of them is murdered, shortly after her stalker is released from prison, they are all thrown into panic as after the funeral a wreath is delivered to them with a chilling message. Written in multiple POV’s of the five group members the author has succeeded in writing a book that is at times quite terrifying in its reality.

Briefly, the message on the wreath said that one of them would be dead within 10 days and as the days roll over the tension is increasing for four people already on tenterhooks. Deciding that one of their stalkers must be the instigator of the message they make a plan that involves tracking their stalkers until they can work out who is the potential perpetrator and who is their intended victim. But time is ticking down…fast

The characters in this book are so well written and the narrative so good that I was continually suspecting different people. The clues were there and eventually one person was in my sights and although I had the person put to rights everything else around it I couldn’t even have imagined. There were plenty of creepy characters in this book but Marcus was by far the worst, I was genuinely shuddering whenever he was around, he scared the bejesus out of me! I don’t know if the author found it cathartic to write this book - I genuinely hope so. It really was a brilliant book and I enjoyed (not exactly the best word) every page.

As a long time fan of C.L. Taylor, I was so excited to have the opportunity to read and review 'Every Move You Make'. It certainly delivers, with a narrative packed with twists and turns that keep you on edge. The characters are developed with interesting complexity, leaving you unsure of who to trust. This gripping read is not for the faint-hearted—perfectly crafted tension makes it unputdownable. Prepare for sleepless nights as you dive into this thrilling narrative.

I’m sure this will be a great hit for those who love psychological thrillers. I enjoyed most of the book, especially the first half, but at times I was confused about who was stalking who. Somehow there just seemed to be too much going on, and some parts seemed to drag on without much happening. What spoiled my enjoyment most was the number of times I had to suspend belief, and towards the end it was just too far fetched for me. I loved the end note by the author though. Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the early copy.

What a tense book!!!! I thought this was a fantastic psychological thriller with so many twists and turns to the plot. The characters all felt like they had an edge to them and I wasn’t sure who I could trust. Definitely not one to read at night! Fantastic

This was an unforgettable, un-put-down-able thriller from start to finish. The tension C.L. Taylor creates in this narrative was at times uncomfortable (but in a good way) and I couldn't tear myself away from it.

⭐⭐⭐⭐
Every Move You Make by C.L. Taylor, an audiobook narrated by Clare Corbett was intense! When you have a stoker, it's not easy as you feel that your life doesn't believe you! You must watch every step, every move, every call, and every person you meet as it could potentially put them in danger.
I was blessed to have an e-book and an audiobook and this is one of the rare situations when it's easier with an e-book as there is a lot of WhatsApp messaging and it was so confusing in the audiobook! I managed to combine both and it worked out well.
As there are a lot of characters it was confusing for me to get to the essence of who is who and what is going on. This book gets more intense halfway through. Suspense and nerve-wracking moments follow one after another.

Alexandra, Lucy, Bridget, River, and Natalie are stoker victims who find support in a closed WhatsApp group. Things emotionally escalate when one of their group is murdered, days after their stalker is released from prison. If this is not hard enough the group receives a threat that one of them will die in ten days... No one knows who is the target but they know they must come up with the plan! They can't go to the police as there are some dark secrets buried but who will help if not the police? Can they take justice into their own hands?

I believe it could be triggering for stalking victims!

Thank you, NetGalley, HarperCollins UK Audio, and Avon Books UK for this copy! I highly recommend this book!

I wanted to love this book as the plot seemed unusual. It failed to deliver for me and got far fetched and boring and I struggled to finish it. Thanks to Net Galley for an ARC.

“Alex, Lucy, River and Bridget. Four people with one thing in common: they are all being stalked. Their lives are filled with terror. They never know what – or who – is hiding in the shadows”.

There used to be five of them, but the fifth member of this little WhatsApp group, Natalie, was murdered by her stalker. The others all attended Natalie’s funeral, where a wreath was handed to them simply saying RIP and a date, however it wasn’t meant for Natalie - it was in fact a warning that one of them would die in 10 days time!

Though each chapter was devoted to one character at a time, sadly I had to keep reminding myself who was stalking who, and what their backstory was.
Have to admit to being suspicious about a few of the main characters, but ended up being very surprised by the outcome. I enjoyed the story to a point, but had to suspend disbelief often and found that (for me) it dragged at times.
The author’s notes at the end of the book are enlightening, so do be sure to read them.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for my copy of this arc!

C. L. Taylor does it again! I really enjoyed this book, I didn’t love the 4 POVs at all times but I get why it was necessary for the story. It fell a little bit flat and slow for me around half way but then picked right back up again and I felt like I was fully immersed in the story once again.

When reading the authors note Taylor explains that she had a stalker so this story is close to her heart and it made sense how you could really sense the fear of the different characters.

Overall, this was a really great read and I would highly recommend it to everyone because it definitely keeps you on your toes!

I love C.L. Taylor's books and this one had me gripped from the very beginning. I was suspicious of several characters throughout the book and then guessed the who but not the why (and was kept guessing on this until near the end).

My thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC of this book.

I am a big fan of this author and was excited to get my hands on this, her latest offering. Although I did find it to be not as strong as some of her previous books, I did enjoy it, and tbh, the bar is set quite high in the first place so, expectations...
So... In this book we meet Alex, Lucy, Bridget, River, and Natalie. Five people drawn together by one common thing - they all have stalkers. Having met in an online support group, they have split away from that and have created a WhatsApp group where they all support each other. They are mostly ticking along OK until one of them is murdered days after their stalker was released from prison. At the funeral they receive a threat that one of the remaining group will die in 10 days.
And so begins a countdown as they all try and work out who sent the threat, who the threat was aimed at? And what they can do to stay safe. When someone suggests they turn the tables on their stalkers they all agree. But that soon escalates into something much much darker...
Oh my days! Some of the things that happen in this book are heartbreaking and dark. I understand that the author has personal experience of being stalked herself and this comes across in the book in the fear and claustrophobic nature of what is happening. It also highlights the lack of support from certain authorities. The law being a bit powerless in certain aspects of the crime of stalking.
The characters were all well drawn and all played their parts well. Pacing was good and matched the narrative all the way through. However, I did find it did slightly degenerate into farce a little. Went a little extreme and skirted the line of credibility for me. It also felt a little contrived at times. Which was a shame as I was fully on board before then. I also guessed a few things early which I guess didn't really help the cause.
But all that said, even though some things irked me, I had a few niggles and do admit to rolling my eyes a couple times along the way, this was a thoroughly decent read that did hold my attention nicely along the way, spitting me out at the end wholly satisfied.
My thanks go to the Publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book.

Every Move You Make is a really tense thriller based on the authors past experiences with stalking.
Alex, Bridget, Lucy, Nat and River are all connected, they are connected by a WhatsApp group. They are all being stalked by various people. They are looking out for each other and keep in regular contact to make sure they are ok. Nat goes silent one evening coming back from work and the unthinkable happens. At her funeral the remaining four receive a wreath saying someone is going to die in the next ten days. River comes up with a plan to keep them safe but will it work?
This was a very tense read that I loved, I liked how you get to know the individual characters and who their stalkers are and why they are being stalked. The storyline is like nothing I’ve read before. I love this authors books but this although stressful to read is definitely my favourite. Everything about this book was perfect and I wouldn’t have changed a thing which for me is unusual but from the beginning to the end it flowed well and left no unanswered questions.
I would like to thank NetGalley and Avon Books UK forthis ARC I received in exchange for an honest review.
