I enjoyed this book. If was better than I was expecting and it really surprised me in a good way. I look forward to more by this author.

A fake medium is hired by her glamorous older client to exorcise a dear friend's farm so he can sell it. Spoiler: the farm owner's a babe who doesn't believe in mediums or ghosts. The tension between Gretchen and Charlie is so good. He doesn't want her anywhere near the farm, and even though her skills are fake, she has a real encounter that has her glued to the farm. I loved this book!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for the advanced reader's copy in exchange for my review.

Thank you @berkleyromance gifted copy!
This was such a fun and unique story! This is my first from Sarah Adler, and I am so excited to pick up her other books now, too! I listened to the audio and was blown away when I realized that Matilda herself, Mara Wilson, is the narrator! She did a FANTASTIC JOB! 👏
If you’re looking for a romance with a dash of paranormal spirits up to harmless mischief or if you’re into goat yoga, this book is totally for you!
Everett just might be my favorite side character ever! He was an utter delight and I loved to see the friendship between Gretchen and him build over the course of the story. And you know I’m a girl who loves a hate-to-love romance, so I knew the chemistry between our fake spirit medium, Gretchen, and Charlie would be good!
June was such a slow month for me, but listening to Happy Medium really revived me! I cannot wait to dive into Sarah’s backlog soon!

I really liked this book! The characters were fun- I loved the Ghosts (tv show) vibes I got from it. I hadn’t read Mrs. Nash’s Ashes so didn’t have any other of Sarah Adler’s work to compare this one to. Overall this was a fun read for me and I would give Happy Medium 4 stars!

Thanks for the advance copy! This was such a cute and clever story. The humor hit, the romance felt authentic, and the side characters were just as lovable. A total feel-good read.

I liked this better than Adler's first book, Mrs. Nash's Ashes (I thought the characters in that were too mean to each other), and I loved the fake medium / real ghost of it all - I ended up listening to this on audio, read by Mara Wilson, and I loved hearing that the inspirations for it was the movie GHOST.

It was fine. Everett was my favorite part. Absolutely zero reason it should’ve been so long. I'm never really a fan of people hating each other immediately for no real reason. Also why are we letting strangers live in our house?

Ahhhh!!!! If you're looking for a fun, witty romance with a lot of heart and some light paranormal elements then Happy Medium is the book for you! I loved everything about this.
The plot was fun and a bit unserious but also serious. Gretchen was resourceful (a scammer queen!!!!) and I loved her relationship with Charlie and also the friendship with Everett was just as enjoyable to read.
Read if you enjoy forced proximity, slow burn, and a FMC that has a few (relatable) flaws.

This was fun to read because it took place very close to my house. Gretchen is a fake spirit medium in DC when she is tasked to visit a farm in rural Maryland to do an exorcism. That’s a little tricky when she has no idea how to do it, has already been paid a lot of money, and the farm’s owner wants nothing to do with her. Her initial goal is to help Charlie, the farmer, sell his farm but quickly realizes that she absolutely cannot do that. Gretchen has to figure out how to keep the farm in Charlie’s family and keep Charlie alive. Luckily she has help from the farm’s resident ghost, Everett. It is a good summer book, and not at all scary or spooky.

This was a fun paranormal romance. I really liked both of the main characters and the ghost was fantastic. I would highly recommend this author and book.

Honestly, unfortunately, the best part of the story was the ghost. I didn’t really like the story nor the characters and felt like it moved way too slow.

Absolutely loved this one. Sarah Adler remains the master of a goofy yet big-hearted romance. The friendship between Everett and Gretchen was a wonderful part of this book as well as the romance. An insta-read author for me!

3/5 stars - This book def had a different concept then I’ve read before, but I’m always down for
a paranormal romance, this book fit that in a quirky way. The forced proximity trope is always a winner in my books and who doesn’t love a grumpy teddy bear farmer who’s not to shabby on the eyes. A lighthearted & easy read to pick up def recommend!

The humor of this book was top notch. I enjoyed the witty banter between Gretchen and Charlie and Gretchen and Everett. The paranormal antics of Everett are entertaining, and the personal and romantic journeys of both Gretchen and Charlie are so poignant and heartwarming. Fantastic read

3.5 stars rounded up.
Gretchen is a fake medium, conning grieving people out of their money while pretending to talk to spirits. Until she’s hired to help save a haunted farm, and she can actually see and talk to a real ghost.
The ghost was the funniest character in the book, and Gretchen was great. Growing up as a pawn in her dad’s cons she just wanted to be useful to someone in a real way. Charlie was too distant for too long, but overall a fun read with some great moments.
Thank you, NetGalley, for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book was slightly predictable, a little outside my norm (con-artist in the spirit medium 'work' who then actually can do what she claims she can do).
Not going to lie, the whole con artist bit turned me off, but I get the gist, fake it 'til you make it. Gretchen really had to do what she needed to do to get by, just wish she could have realized she had so many other options (especially with how her character was built up through the book).
Charlie, well, Mr. Grumpy himself can actually be quite nice and was a pretty decent guy.
The ghost (Everett) - was a love hate situation he was a bit annoying, but then he would just not be talked about for a whole chapter, it was odd...
Overall it was an alright read, easy, light, and something you can easily read in a day or two.
Thank you NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for my DRC.

This was a fun and delightfully refreshing original story that had characters that made me laugh and care for them. Nothing like a fake ghost con that gets derailed by a real those to set the stage for a great romantic comedy. The banter in this is off the charts as is the s3xual tension that it hides. This is truly a fun escapist read for those days you just need to get away from it all but can't!
One Sentence review: if you are looking for a unique laugh out loud rom com that will steal you heart with all the quirkiness, banter, and charm that only a haunted goat farm can set the stage for as enemies become lovers with help of a mischievous spirit and a delightful baby goat that you have found your next read right here.

Funny, clever, and refreshing! Sarah Adler is a must read for any romance reader’s shelves. I loved the con artist set up and the hijinks that ensued at the farm, with the zany paranormal spin.

It's been awhile since I read this book; I slacked in writing reviews. What I remember is that the book is very predictable, but it is okay for a quick read especially if you are a fan of slow-burns, enemies-to-lovers, no real surprises books.

Happy Medium was a funny story about faking it til you make it! The story begins with money and ends with love. The middle is riddled what happens when your fake like and real life become intertwined. How do you help and support others yet keeping yourself ahead of the con?
Reminds the reader to never question the spiritual realm!
Recommended as an easy read.... just don't tell your spiritualist
