This book is an interesting reminder about how healthy love relationships work in the form of a questionnaire with an explanation and an observation about each topic and side of relationships. Some parts lightly nuge to visit a therapist to figure out some things, and it's a good thing, as, from personal experience, some mindsets seem to be set in stone until you realize with professional help that they are not.
The only thing I would recommend to readers is: don't think twice and go with the answer to each question that felt close to home the first time, as there is no reason to lie to ourselves.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a fun questionaire about one's readiness for love. I enjoyed how eclectic the questions were. This variety touched on a variety of scenarios that a romantic couple may be subject to and your reaction to them.

An engaging, insightful way of presenting the short essays about love/life/relationships [delete as appropriate] aimed at everyone. The "answers" feel like an introduction to a wider discussion, or more in-depth books rather than the final product, and I did find the options a bit confining at two answers per question, but the analysis was always incredibly astute.

School of Life never fails.

'Love is a skill, not an emotion - and one we seldom receive systematic instruction in.'

'[W]e may all have become easier to meet, but we are not, perhaps, any easier to love.'

'We need, too, distractions, journeys, favourite cafés, very edlerly and very young acquaintances, political interests, artistic, curiosities, household chores, ideally a small garden or a flower box - and, of course, an imaginatively stocked library.'

What was this book?!

I'm left questioning the point of this book. It is formatted as a questionnaire with info around each question and some justifications why you may have answered the questions the way you did.
I didn't get anything from this - it was pretty much common sense- i didn't learn anything about myself or about the theory of relationships at all.

This book struck me like a powerful wake-up call, delivering a series of hard-hitting realizations that left a lasting impact. I found myself reaching for the highlighter frequently, marking passages that resonated deeply. Reflecting on its profound insights, I couldn't help but wish I had encountered this book much earlier in life, especially in my early twenties.

Highly recommended for individuals navigating the single life, the book proved to be a fascinating read. It transcends the realm of love, delving into broader questions about life itself. Each thought-provoking question presented in the book, accompanied by compelling arguments, became a source of enlightenment for me. Rather than fixating on the final results, I revelled in the process of devouring every question and gaining valuable insights to enhance my approach to relationships.

The book's appeal lies not only in its recommendations but also in the thorough exploration of each question. It serves as a guide for those seeking a deeper understanding of relationship dynamics, prompting introspection and offering a roadmap for building and maintaining meaningful connections. Overall, a captivating and thought-provoking journey that extends beyond the realm of romance, making it a valuable resource for personal growth and relationship enrichment.

The E-Book could be improved and more user-friendly, such as links to the chapters, no significant gaps between words and a cover for the book would be better. It is very document-like instead of a book. A star has been deducted because of this.

The book cover is eye-catching and appealing and would spark my interest if in a bookshop. Thank you to the author, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.

A fascinating book. Many thought-provoking questions are not only about love but also about life. I like the argument for every question. I'm not really looking into the result at the end, rather than that, I enjoy devouring every single question and getting insight for maintaining relationships better.

Thank you, NetGalley and The School of Life for providing digital ARC for honest review.

Thank you, The School of Life, for the advance reading copy.

I like the presentation and the questions/explanations given in the book. However, why are the options for each question limited to two? I know what we need to know is given on the next page as a general explanation for each question.

Well, the questions will help the reader reflect even without the options I feel.

Quite insightful and helpful I would say if we want to explore what might be the reasons we are not ready for relationships.

Just finished the book and honestly this is a book that i will recommend to my friends that going through a big and messy break up or just simply questions about love. This book is provoking our belief about love and how we see ourselves, and how we expect love from others dependent on how the history of our childhood shape us. Everything in this book is just so important to understand but it also told with an easy to digest words so it doesn’t feel like we’re reading a scientific journal or something.

Unfortunately I didn't like this at all. While I do believe that there is valuable insight to be found in this book, I didn't enjoy how it was presented. The questionaire did not feel like that at all. It was always two possible answers and one was allways obviously "wrong" and the other always oviously "right".
I was hoping for more open-ended reflextion and for finding out how people are different and approch love diffently and how they need and want different things from a relationship.
Instead the auther lectured me about the right way to love and approach relationships.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to review this title :)

Wow, I really did not enjoy this book at all. I felt that the questionnaire was very much perpetuating black and white thinking and preventing people from seeing the nuances in human behavior and healthy relationships. For example, there is a question about addressing/processing unhealthy relationships with parents and the only options offered are: "Nope, sounds like psychobabble to me," and "I go to therapy three times per week."

"How Ready Are You For Love?" is a fantastic guided questionnaire that offers readers a unique opportunity to gain deeper insights into themselves and their romantic relationships. As I worked my way through the book, I found myself thoroughly engaged and entertained by the thought-provoking questions it posed. By the time I'd answered the questions, added up my answers and reached the conclusion, I felt like I had a much clearer understanding of myself and a heightened awareness of what I seek in a relationship.
