Very entertaining audiobook! Daniel Hurst delivers fast pace thrillers that keep you guessing! I really enjoyed the Doctor's Wife and was not disappointed by this newest release!

Having listened to a couple of Daniel Hurst's audiobooks i can guarantee that they are going to be well narrated. This had two narrators, one for the wife and one for the husband. The couple take their children to back to New York which is where they had lived whilst the children were small and until the Husband made a mistake. The wife eluctantly agrees to go back and their history catches up with them.
This book had some good twists and turns in it and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it.
Thank you to Daniel Hurst, Bookouture Audio and Netgalley

this is the second daniel hurst thriller i‘ve read and it kept me guessing just as much as the first one! “her husband’s mistake” is full of twists and turns and i loved how secrets were revealed bit by bit through the story. the plot was very well thought-through and truly gripping, but i wish there’d been more focus on the characters themselves as they felt a little bit flat and interchangeable. this is not the end of the world for such a plot-driven thriller, but just a personal preference as i love books that have a strong focus on characters and their relationships.

This is a good psychological thriller which has two narrators who narrate the book perfectly. I enjoyed listening to it. I especially like it if there are a few narrators, as it makes the book come to life more.

The story is about parents Jack and Lorna who take their children to New York for their birthday, although soon there is trouble, and the children are taken. Will they be able to track down where their children are and save them?

I have liked all of Daniel's books that I have read, and I look forward to reading more books by him, as they are always interesting and enjoyable. Highly recommended!

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.

WoW!!! Her Husband's Mistake by Daniel Hurst. Narrated by Tamsin Kennard and Nathaniel Priestley was an excellent audiobook that was packed with great twists and turns throughout that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat. Once I started to listen to this audiobook it was hard to turn off. I was gripped from the beginning till the very end. It was an outstanding audiobook/book and the narrators Tamsin Kennard and Nathaniel Priestley were superb, they made this book.

Daniel Hurst's books are a treat to read and will always have you gripped. He has a way of bringing you into the story and all his characters are so true to life. Another superb book.

I highly recommend this book. I loved it!

Big thank you to netgalley, Bookouture and Bookouture Audio for this amazing ARC in exchange for my review!

A really chilling and creepy read! I could it believe the tension created from the very first pages, you were on the edge of your seat trying to work out why the family look such a huge risk without knowing why! I really felt the terror and horror of being put in that position as a parent! Also I loved how this book made me question my own morals and feelings on what I would do.

All in all a fab tense read! The narrator was excellent it was easy to listen to and get lost in the story!

Short and sweet is a great way to describe this book. It was a quick listen in the best way possible. The narrators were engaging and I couldn’t stop listening. I loved the fast pace and how the book covered every loose end yet still left an open cliff hanger right at the end

Review for 'Her Husband's Mistake' by Daniel Hurst.

Read and reviewed via NetGalley for Daniel Hurst, Bookouture publishers and Bookouture anonymous

Publication date 30th September 2023.

This is the fifth book I have read by this author. I have previously read 'The Doctor's Wife', 'My Daughter's Boyfriend', 'The Holiday Home' and 'The Doctor's Widow' and would highly recommend them all!!!

This novel consists of a prologue, 31 chapters and an epilogue. The chapters are short to medium in length so easy to read 'just one more chapter' before bed...OK, I know yeah right, but still just in case!

'Her Husband's Mistake' discusses some topics that may upset some readers or may not be suitable for others. I like to point this out ahead of time in my reviews so you can judge if this book is for you or not. In this book Daniel discusses/includes suicide and threat to children.

AN ABSOLUTELY ADDICTIVE, THRILLING, UNPUTDOWNABLE HEART RACING AND EXPLOSIVE BOOK THAT WILL KEEP YOU UP LATE AT NIGHT UNTIL YOU TURN THE LAST PAGE!!

Wow!!! This book is fantastically written and had me hook, line and sinker from beginning to end. The descriptions were so in depth and vivid that the hair on my arms was standing on the ends and my heart was pounding throughout. The synopsis, title and cover were perfect for the storyline.

Another HUGE success by the extremely talented Daniel Hurst!! Daniel is one of those extremely talented authors who has written so many books but yet each one I have read has been just as gripping, unique and explosive as the next!! How he does it I have no idea but whatever you are doing Daniel, keep doing it!!! I absolutely loved this unique page turning explosive page turner. I was absolutely absorbed throughout this psychological thriller. It is filled with tension, drama, family, suspense, lies, deceit, romance, secrets, love, and omg the twist!!! I DID NOT see the twists coming at all and there were more than one!!! Just when I think everything had been worked out and things were settling down BOOM there was another bombshell!! A MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS Daniel!! It is getting harder and harder to shock me but by God you did that over and over and over!!! What an ending!!! One of the most gripping unputdownable nerve wracking psychological thrillers I have EVER read!!! You have one hell of a talent and I cannot wait to get hold of your previous and future books in this series. I cannot remember the last time I was so hooked by a book but you managed that big time!!! I loved that the book is told from different perspectives and each of their stories/chapters were perfectly weaved together to show us everything that is going on and how each of the characters are thinking and feeling throughout. The storyline is filled with shocks, suspense, tension, deceit, and everything you could ask for in a psychological thriller!!. There was so much going on and it was very fast paced and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. The surrounding atmosphere was absolutely perfect and the narrative ensures you are completely absorbed into the storyline with the characters coming to life all around you thanks to Daniel's evocative writing skills and Tamsin and Nathaniel's amazing narratives. If you are ever in a reading slump then any of Daniels books are guaranteed to pull you out of it!!!! I lost count how many times I had funny looks shouting out don't do it as I was walking on the school run listening to this amazing book!! This is one of those books that I really can't say much about the storyline without giving anything away so I'll try to be very careful. It is definitely a thought provoking book and makes one you realise how one moment and one action can make such a massive difference in life. During the book there are so many butterfly affects which goes to show how one small action can have such a large ripple affect which could continue for years. My heart was absolutely in my throat during one moment, especially as a mother I can't imagine having to make that decision and I hope to God I would never have to. If I had to ..... Oops that's all I can say. Have I left you in suspense? Well you'll just have to pick up your copy and find out yourself!!! This book is absolutely addictive and I read it in one sitting. I absolutely loved the cliff hanging explosive twist at the end that leaves you wanting more! It kept me on the edge of my seat, biting my nails with my heart absolutely pounding throughout especially at the end! I really am looking forward to the next book by this extremely talented author. A gripping, all consuming addictive page turner!!!

Clear your schedule before you start as I read this in one sitting as I could not put it down!! Practically every chapter ended on a cliff hanger so no way could I put it down!! Absolutely hooked!! I would absolutely love to see this turned into a movie!!!!

This is one of the few books that I have listened to 100% on Audiobook. If I listen to a book on audiobook I usually also read the physical book between but for the second time I listened to the whole book and I was impressed! I must say a HUGE congratulations to the narrators Nathaniel Priestley and Tamsin Kennard who both did an amazing job bringing this story and the characters to life. I have previously listened to 'Her First Child' by Sheryl Browne, 'The Suspect' by Kathryn Croft and 'My Daughters Boyfriend' also by Daniel Hurst
that were all also narrated by Tamsin Kennard and I would highly recommend listening to or reading them all as it they re other fantastic page turners from other great authors!! I would listen to it in the car and while walking at any opportunity. I'm not only looking forward to reading more books by Daniel but also to listening to more books narrated by both Tamsin and Nathaniel!

The characters were all strong and realistic and thanks to Daniel's absolutely fantastic writing skills and Tamsin and Nathaniel's amazing narrative skills they all come to life when you are turning the pages. My heart went out to Lorna but not as much as it went out to their children Alex and Maddy but again.....I really can't say why or anything else in regards to the book itself as it's too easy to give anything away. Both Tamsin and Nathaniel were perfect to portray the voices of each of the characters helping me like or dislike the characters even more! I will stop here as I will give too much away if I say anymore and I really don't want to spoil it for future readers so I wont say anything else and let other readers make their own minds up about how they feel about the characters.. Regardless of whether you love or hate the characters they all worked perfectly together to make this an addictive and explosive storyline!!

This is exactly why you are one of my favourite male authors Daniel! An absolute must read author!! I cannot wait to read all your previous and future books!! Here's to your next success 🥂

Make sure you read to the very end of the book to read the prologue of Daniel's 'The Couple In The Cabin' which promises to be just as gripping as this book and is one I'm definitely looking forward to reading myself!!!

Overall another absolutely heart racing, suspense filled, unputdownable addictive page turner psychological thriller filled with twists!

Thank you NetGalley for the audio copy in exchange for a honest review. Lorna and Jack used to live in New York with their young family.
Then something tragic happened 15 years ago and they left vowing never to return. This year their daughter Maddie turns 21 and their son Alex turns 18. For their present they want to return to New York. Lorna and Jack begrudgingly agree to the holiday. Then both Maddie and Alex go missing and the holiday turns into a nightmare. Another thrilling read from Daniel Hurst. .

Super quick, entertaining thriller.

I really enjoyed this and was excited to see how it would end.

I didn't love is as much of other of his books, but still enjoyable.

A family vacation to New York should be something that everyone would be super excited about, but for Jack and Lorna, they are dreading every minute. 15 years ago something terrible happened and they haven't been back since. But their children Maddie and Alex are insisting this is where they spend their birthday vacation. Everything should be fine since all this time has past, shouldn't it?

This started out fast paced and was a nice quick read but not my favorite. There was little character development and I couldn't really connect with anyone. The twists weren't really that great and I think this was just an average thriller. The narrators did an amazing job and I think that helped hold my interest. I will say the very last twist was a decent one that I never thought about but still nothing that makes me want to rave about.

Thank you to NetGalley and Daniel Hurst for allowing me to listen to an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

What would you do if your spouse did something horrible, but if it came out it could ruin your family?

This book takes you into that scenario. You follow the twists and turns as their adultish children go missing and they wonder if things could be connected. Fast paced and twisty, just the way I like it.
And the audio was well done!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for an ALC in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to Daniel Hurst and NetGalley for this audio-ARC in exchange for my honest feedback and review.

Lorna and Jack live in London with their two wonderful smart children, Maddie and Alex. For their birthdays Maddie and Alex want to visit the city they lived in as babies, New York City. Lorna and Jack are hesitant as they left after a horrible mistake on Jack's part. Will their mistake catch up with them in the big apple?

I thoroughly enjoyed this quick paced domestic thriller. The narrators did a great job and brought the story to life for me. Overall this was an enjoyable fast paced audiobook.

I listened to the audio version of this book and it kept my interest although at times it was a bit slow. However, I would say that it finishes well and is not one of those books which drags towards the end. I particularly liked the twist in the epilogue so would be readers, make sure that you don't miss it!

Whilst I did enjoy this audiobook, I found it very predictable in places especially when Lorna had to make a decision that will change her whole future, it didn't give me goosebumps like other similar books have done.

The epilogue at the end was a fab twist though, I wonder if there is going to be a sequel?

Daniel Hurst doesn’t disappoint. I enjoyed how the story was written and how the intrigue developed. I do, however, think that the ending and Epilogue dragged on a little too much.
I enjoyed listening audio version of Her Husband’s Secret.
The narration, by Tamsin Kennard and Nathaniel Priestley is well done. It’s well paced and very easy to follow.
Thank You to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for the opportunity to listen to the audiobook version of this this ARC

I am loving author Daniel Hurst's novels/audiobooks and Her Husbands Mistake did not disappoint. I love the way he writes, really clear, concise, brilliant story and characters and I devour them.

We meet Lorna and Jack who are visiting New York, they look like their life is seemingly untouched and perfect, but the reader soon learns that this is not the case at all. They have children and something happens whilst in New York that may potentially affect the rest of their lives.

I listened to the audio version of this novel and really enjoyed the narrators of the books.

I do not want to give much away on this review but the story is fast paced, as Daniel Hurst's novels normally are and it is full of twists and turns.

Thanks to the author, the publishers and Netgalley for allowing me a copy of this audio book in exchange for my honest review.

4ish stars

Daniel Hurst’s thrillers are always wild, dramatic rides, and this book fit right in with that description. It was fast-paced and plot-driven, tense and over the top, and definitely the kind of fun, suspenseful adventure I hope for when I pick up this kind of book. It was a fun, quick read.

What would you do if your husband messed up in a big way? Would you stand by him, or leave and let him face the consequences? Hurst asks us to ponder just that question.

The characters are flawed and selfish, but also fiercely loyal and devoted: a complex mess which Hurst is fond of. The request seems simple: visit NY after a decade away. But when the secret could destroy your life would you still go? For some asinine reason, these parents say yes and ruin lives all over again. Read it and be carried along in the sublime chaos.

A great listen with lots of twists and turns that keep you on your toes till the end
Something happened in New York 15 years ago causing the parents to flee back to England with their young children
But when the children reach 18 & 21 and are asked what they want to celebrate the only thing they want is a family holiday to New York surely they will be safe now

Thanks to Netgalley for allow me the chance to listen to this audio book
