This follows Fisher, a Michelin-starred, recently-fired chef helping his ex-boss with a summer project in hopes of getting back in her good graces. He is setting up a restaurant in a small town in Oregon and has brought his new charge, his niece, to live with him after her mom passed. Sage is managing the rental home as well as a farm and a classroom of kids. Luckily, it's summer break.

Their romantic journey is with plenty of real-life problems that are dealt with in a realistic way. These characters are more than two shiny leads. They're people with pasts and flaws and uncertainty about what to do next. It's difficult to suspend disbelief for the grand gesture in many of these types of stories, but this one is backed by foreshadowing and life-lessons picked up throughout the chapters.

i loved this! If you're a fan of love stories, you won't want to miss it. I especially loved the roles Sage's animals held. They're some of my favorite characters in the book, particularly Gary.

It took me a little while to warm up to the characters (I felt like I was introduced like 20 people within the first two chapters), but once the story got rolling, the town of Spunes and its residents were easy to love. DeWitt had many one-liner and descriptions that kept me smiling throughout the book.

“The kid is as tall as I am, but looks like he’s been put through a pasta maker to get that way.”

“Fisher, I’ll be happy to listen to your origin story after, but right now, we’re discussing canoes.”

“And by the way, your nipple slipped out of your bikini top…”

Loved that Fisher had earrings. You don’t see that in your hot MMC very often.

Sage is the perfect level of quirkiness. Comes across as so sincere in her interests and devotions.

Watching these two dance around each other - the banter - was *chef’s kiss* excellent.

I loved Funny Feelings, but had a hard time connecting with the story in The Co-op. Savor It brings back the charming, sweet heat that I enjoyed so much in Funny Feelings. This is the Tarah DeWitt I love to read. Very warm. Very funny.

Another win by Tarah DeWitt! Fisher and Sage were both such interesting characters who I felt connected with immediately. Sage was such an animated character who jumped off the page with enthusiasm and gumption. Fisher was quite the opposite as he tried to deal with past demons, loss and figuring out fatherhood to his niece. I love how natural they seemed together from the very start. And how they never seemed to judge one another or hold things against each other but would wait for the other to open up about what was going on. Their relationship felt mature and realistic. The small town vibes are always something I love, especially if you add in a competition. How everything ended with Indy and Fisher brought me so much joy, to see them putting one another's needs ahead of their own and really becoming a unit.

If there are no Tara’s Dewitt fans in this world please know that I was the last one standing before being taken out. My god she has a way with words. The genius sense of humor paired with bone shredding emo feels are a whiplash I will sign up for again and again because HOLY GEEZ is it so good. Fisher and Sage are just SO PUREEEEE. Love

This was such a sweet book that’s filled with so many tropes I love: small town, grumpy x sunshine, slow burn, friends to lovers, spice, dual pov.

The town where this took place was so well described that I could picture myself standing there as everything happened in the book.

You root for these characters and feel along with this. Such a cute story.

This is an emotional roller coaster between a big city chef who had his orphaned niece to take care of. While this is a romance, it is so much more, It brings you on an emotional journey of grief, friendship, and love. While delivering small town Stars Hollow vibes.

Take my word, you’re going to want to Savor It..

My first Tarah DeWitt book. I love that it was set in PNW!! The premise is exactly my cup to tea. Sage and Fisher's story was cozy but still hard hitting.

This book was so so so so beautiful. I’ve always felt that small town romances can go one of two ways for me (either I aggressively love them or I aggressively hate them) but the little town of Spunes is one that I wish I could hide away in forever.

Sage is a teacher who’s dealing with the town’s pity after being dumped by her boyfriend, who’s the town’s golden boy. Fisher is a former Michelin-starred chef who lost is job is spending the summer in Spunes with his teenage niece to prepare his former boss’ new restaurant and hopefully earn his position back.

A meet-cute involving a rogue vacuum cleaner leads to a hilarious and cute neighbors-to-lovers scenario that made me giggle, kick my feet, and—surprise, surprise—cry like a baby.

Also there is a goose in this book called Gary, and he is the love of my life. I feel this is not a surprising tidbit for anyone who knows about me and my geese obsession, but I just wanted it to be known.

This was a heartwarming story about a grumpy chef who has become a single parent and this quirky next store neighbour who has many amazing animals. I really did enjoy the journey both these characters went on and how they accepted the emotional damage that both of them had been on and never held it against them!

I loved this small town romance! Tarah truly made the small town feel perfect.

This was my first Tarah DeWitt book, and I am starting Funny Feelings soon too!

Fisher was just everything. I loved the way he had to learn to navigate his relationship with his teenage niece, which is never easy. All the activities that Fisher and Sage did were so fun to read about.

AHHH I read this from front to back too fast! I wish I could read it again for the first time 🥰

I absolutely love Sage! She is strong, passionate, & unapologetically herself 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 she takes care of her own, & finds the good in everything 💕 and Fisher found everything he didn’t know he was looking for. He is turning his life around, & I loved everything about this interaction he has with Sage!

Right from the beginning, I laughed, smiled, & cried alongside all the characters. The town was everything I hoped it would be, & the secondary characters were just as great 💕

This was the first book by this author for me, but I guarantee it is not the last ❤️

What to expect:
✨small town
✨dual POV
✨forced proximity
✨fake dating
✨grumpy/sunshine
✨”only for the summer”
✨fun animal friends
✨all the feels!

I definitely recommend this one! And can’t wait to read more by Tarah 💕📚

Thank you @stmartinspress @netgalley for the early copy!

I loved the characters and setting in this book, but the story fell a bit flat for me. I can see how it's loved by many though.

This was one of my most anticipated reads and it definitely did not disappoint! Tarah DeWitt's writing is real and relatable and you just can't help but smile while reading. I had to get myself a physical copy for my shelf as well because this cover is stunning. An amazing rom-com from Tarah.

I’ve absolutely loved Tarah’s other books, but this one was just off for me the entire time. I was excited for the dual POV, the grump/sunshine trope, and the small town vibes, but the pacing was off and I found myself not wanting to pick it back up. I do want to give this another try when I’m in a romance book mood again, but I eventually had to start something new.

This book was so good! I Love Tarah DeWitt and was so excited to get to read this as an ARC. I really resonated with Sara and Fisher as they were both in a stage of life where they felt stuck, or really just needing to find themselves and their path forward in life. They come together at such a perfect time and deal with things they both have been struggling with, Like grief and how each person is affected differently by it. I loved the setting of this book. Oregon is one of my favorite states and they made the city have the perfect cozy vibes.
I will be recommending this book to everyone!
