Tarah infused this book with love. I loved the romance between Fisher and Sage, but I was also captivated by all the other types of love showcased in this book: love between siblings, love between friends, love between the town of Spunes and how they helped Sage and her brothers after their parents death. I also loved the development of Indy's character throughout this book.
I think one of the poignant things that Tarah captures with this book is how she shows the difference Sage makes in Fisher's life by being completely open with him. The difference they make in each others lives by loving each other is beautiful.
Now I would just like a second chance romance for Wren and Ellis!

Savor It was by far THE BEST book I have read in 2023 and may have made its way into my top 5 books EVER. Five stars is simply not enough. I will never be able to properly explain the number of feelings this has elicited from me- from one end of the spectrum with pain and sadness to the other with joy and contentedness, I felt them all and everything in between. I loved Fisher and Sage (and Indy!) with all my heart. It goes without saying this is Tarah's best writing yet.
I have often found myself wishing I could go back and experience the feeling of reading my favorite book for the first time because when you are in the moment and don't realize what the book will end up meaning to you, you don't appreciate the experience as much. Lucky for me, I had a very strong inkling this book would be a great one just from the PLAYLIST. So many of the songs are personal favorites (Love You For A Long Time is my favorite song ever)- so that gave me a hint that this book would be right up my alley. That allowed me to- apologies for being corny- savor it. I paused many times in the midst of reading to really acknowledge not only what the story was making me feel, but also what the experience of reading a favorite book for the first time feels like. I am so grateful I was able knowingly experience that this time around.
I am so hopeful this book will spur into a series following Sage's brothers (and hopefully Indy one day too!). I will never get over the world of Spunes and know I will returning to this book over and over again.
Thank you Tarah & St. Martin's for allowing me to read this early!

Thank you, St. Martin's Press, NetGalley, and Tarah DeWitt, for providing me an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

live, laugh, love Tarah Dewitt.
Absolutely adored this new novel by Tarah Dewitt! As soon as Tarah announced Savor It was available for download for 48 hours, I IMMEDIATELY hopped on NetGalley to download and start reading. Tarah has a way of writing such deep and flawed characters that you just want to root for. I flew through this book and enjoyed every second of it. Sage and Fisher may just be my new favorite Dewitt couple!
It doesn't seem to normally be Tarah's style to write more than one book with the same characters/areas, but I NEED to know what happens with Ellis and Wren! Fingers crossed we eventually get their story??
Thank you Tarah Dewitt, St. Martin's Press, and NetGalley for making this title available!

Huge thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review 💘 I'll post my full review once the book gets officially published, but here's the non-spoilery version:
I want to have words with Tarah DeWitt because I don't understand how she managed to put my feelings and thoughts into these pages. I found pieces of myself in both Sage and Fisher, they were constantly trying but always felt like things weren't enough, how Sage was always there for everyone without getting much in return and how she didn't felt extraordinary and reading Fisher's words to her felt like a hug, definitely needed that.
I'm writing this seconds after finishing and everything is blurry because of all the tears that escaped while reading that last bit of the book. Those last pages were done BEAUTIFULLY, the overall message is incredible and I loved how everything fit into place. (Can't wait to talk about this with specific scenes and quotes)
Love a good small town romance that takes me back to some semblance of Stars Hollow (the fights with Martha and the town meetings? LOVE THAT). I can totally see this as a series, would definitely love to read more about the Byrd siblings and go back to Spunes.

This is my first time reading the author's work and I can't believe that it took my being invited to read this new title to even hear about Ms DeWitt.
At any rate, the synopsis appealed, I grabbed it, and immediately started reading (despite having sooner publishing books to read. And as to my TBR list? Well, this novel pulled me right in and I read it over two days.
Sage and Fisher are both great main characters, the secondary characters are more fleshed out, and the storyline moves realistically. I laughed at parts and teared up at others.
There are some triggers here (off page deaths and on page grieving), but I still found this story easy to read and enjoy.
I will definitely read more by Ms. Dewitt.
Thank you to St. Martin’s Griffin for the DRC

Tarah Dewitt has become a must read author for me, so Savor It was one of the books I was most looking forward to in 2024. So when she announced that it would be available for 48 hours on NetGalley I set an alarm on my phone so I wouldn't miss it.
I love Farley & Meyer from Funny Feelings and Tati & Henry from Rootbound, but I think I love Sage & Fisher the most. Sage is my absolute favorite Tarah Dewitt FMC. She is hilarious and kind and, as Fisher says, "vast". She is an exceptionally complex character. Fisher is a fantastic MMC. He is observant and introspective. He goes to therapy! He had me repeatedly squealing and kicking my feet and thinking "yes chef". 😂
This is a romance novel so I don't think it's a spoiler to say that the MCs end up together lol. But what surprised me, was that around 90% I had the thought that if these characters didn't end up together I would be really sad, but I would also understand it. The reasons that could pull them apart were so believable and it was heartbreaking. Once again, Tarah made me cry in the last 10%.
This book is Dual POV (which we know I love) but it was done slightly differently and I really enjoyed it. Multiple times, during scenes I was wishing I could have both POVs, she would go to the next chapter and then back up and tell the same scene from the other perspective. It was very cool and I liked it very much. I don't think I've read a Dual POV done like this before.
I love the side characters in this book. Indy is great and I want a YA novel just about her. The town of Spunes, OR (not to be confused with Forks, WA) is a side character all on its own, and I want to go back to time and time again, so the fact that Tarah teased a Spunes No. 2 a few weeks ago is very exciting. Now I just need to figure out time travel so I can read Wren & Ellis' second chance story immediately.
I can't wait for this book to be published (May is so far away!) so that everyone can read it.
Read November 15-17, 2024

This was so cute. Savor It is a really low angst and medium burn with the perfect small town vibes. I really am loving Tarah’s voice and look forward to reading her other book.

This was so well written, and one of the best small town romances I’ve ever read. I cannot think of a single thing I didn’t like about it!

There's just something cravable about Tarah DeWitt's books. They're always perfectly balanced–heat, spice, laughter, heart. As long as she keeps writing, I will always be coming back for more.
This book has it all. MCs you'll fall fast for, fleshed out secondary characters, a small town you'll wish was real, and of course, fantastic writing. The chemistry, the tension, was palpable. The emotional connection felt very earnest and vulnerable.
Tarah has such a gift with words. You'll most definitely laugh, and maybe even cry... but one thing's for sure: you're heart will be filled to the brim.
I miss Sage and Fisher already. I've got a strong feeling that even if I go for seconds, it will be a whole different, new experience. And *that* is a mark of a great writer. This was truly a savory delight!

Once again Tarah proves why she's one of my favorite writers. I'm a sucker for a small town trope and this book had all of the heart and charm without feeling cliché. Sage & Fisher felt like very real, but flawed characters you wanted to root for. This might have even surpassed Funny Feelings as her best book yet.

This is my first book by Tarah Dewitt and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Savor It follows Fisher as he travels across the US to reset as he lost his michelin star, his job, his sister, and now taking care of his teenage niece. He travels to Spunes, OR as his former boss is opening a new restaurant and hoping that he finds his groove back into the kitchen. Sage is the town princess. She is sweet, caring, knows the ins and outs of Spunes, and is neighbors with the new guy from NY. So when the townspeople clash with the temporary new resident over the new restaurant, Fisher and Sage strike up a deal. Is this going to be a summer fling, or end in heartbreak?
I really enjoyed the characters and their connections. Sage is bubbly, sweet, positive, and loved by all. Fisher has some baggage that he is learning to deal with and Sage is that safe space and pretty much has advice for everything.
Since this is my first book by this author, I am not sure if this is her writing style or not, but it was a slow read for me. Alot of character development, almost too plot heavy, with some angst. I was hoping the angst would be more heavy than what it was for the amount of time it took for them to "connect" at 70%.
Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed the book and thought there were a lot of funny moments, sweet gestures, but wanting more of the spice level.
Also, is Ellis and Wren going to be getting a book? I was really intrigued with their storyline and hoping for a second chance.
Rating: 4/5

I already miss Spunes, Oregon! This is the goofy small town that knows they are a goofy small town! Think Stars-hollow 2.0! The cast of side characters are a mix of endearing and frustrating and it’s was just so fun to loose myself in this world. Sage’s character is full of complexity and vulnerability and I adored the time that was spent on making her such a full character. If you liked Meyer you’ll love Fisher! My favorite part of their love story is the small attributes they notice and value so much in each other. I was really blown away with how different this book and characters felt compared to other works by Tarah. If you are wanting a feel good and relaxing escape with creative storytelling and beautiful imagery, this is the perfect book.
Lastly, I am a dying for more of Wren and Ellis’ dynamic. They captured my attention entirely in the scenes they were in! The tension is so satisfying and I am already daydreaming of their future story. I love how Tarah writes angst and I am so hoping their story is next!
Thank you for allowing us an early glimpse!

This felt like a hug from a *steamy* Hallmark movie. Small town, animals, competition, and family dynamics. It was cute, it was funny, it made me cry -what more could you want?

Tarah, respectfully, I adore you with all my heart and also we are in a fight. But also I adore you. But also you made me sob about a GOOSE
I laughed. I sighed. I kicked my feet. I openly wept through the last quarter. I want to tear this book open and pour it directly into my bloodstream so that it can keep me warm in the coming Winter months.
I did not savor it, I devoured it and now I want to go back. Is it too soon to go back?
The continuous tender balance of genuine affection and care that Fisher and Sage fall so quickly into is both heartwarming and gut wrenching. They are two people who have given so much of themselves to what feels like no end, only to find their perfect match in each other. To find someone who gives love and warmth so freely and so earnestly and wants nothing but you in return.

Sage Byrd is content. She is alone, but not lonely. Busy, but not overwhelmed. Still, but not stagnant.
Fisher Lange is none of the above.
When his boss sends Fisher to Spunes, Oregon, to oversee the opening of a new restaurant and try to win over the townspeople, he sees it as more of a punishment than anything else. With his niece Indy in tow - the two of them still grieving the loss of her mother - Fisher rolls into Spunes with minimal hopes and even less enthusiasm.
But Sage simply can’t settle for apathy. Feeling off-kilter when her boyfriend of five years ends their relationship and promptly gets engaged to someone else, Sage is determined to shake things up in her own life, and having Fisher next door means she’s eager to have him feel the magic, too.
Through competitive canoeing, taking care of a misfit farm, nourishing an elaborate garden, trying new dishes, and rediscovering their passions for the little things in life, Fisher, Sage, and even Indy find their lives woven into each other in a way that seems futile with only months left before Fisher’s job sends them back to the east coast.
And for all the healing they’ve helped each other through, the end date on their time together may send them all unraveling again.

I absolutely LOVED this! First of all, Sage was SUCH a relatable character. She reminded me so much of myself. She just wanted to love and be loved. To exist and make the lives of those around her better. She was content with being herself, and I admired that about her. Fisher was the ultimate golden retriever boyfriend. I thought she would fall first, given her gentle nature, but HE fell first and he fell HARD. There was just so many details to live about this story. I also noticed that the author included several different side characters that I’m crossing my fingers will get their own books?! *cough cough* Wren and Ellis!! And Silas?! Wow. Just loved this. Absolutely loved it.
Will post full review on goodreads on release day! Thank you for the ARC!

I have read every published Tarah Dewitt book, and this is likely tied with Funny Feelings for my favorite. I desperately need more from Sage’s brothers, and I hope there are more books to come from these characters. What happened with Ellis and Wren??! I’m invested. I absolutely devoured this today, and was hesitant for it to end… I guess you could say I wanted to savor it.

4.5 stars
I really enjoy when stories are written in a way where the journey the main characters go through feels authentic and realistic. I hope this leads into a series with Sage’s brothers because I felt invested in them (especially Ellis) and want to continue life in Spunes!
I’ve had this author’s other books on my TBR for a while so when this ARC became available, the timing was perfect to get my first read of hers. I’m definitely moving her other books up my TBR.

I was not sure that I’d be into this lighthearted romance but it was just the book that I needed. I really enjoyed this storyline and would definitely recommend this book to others!

This is my first book by this author and I am now going to read all her other books. I was laughing through out and crying by the end. 4 stars.
