tarah dewitt always has the best cozy romances to get me out of a reading slump! quick and easy read that had me kicking my feet!

Unfortunately, this book was not for me. The pacing was slow and I wasn't rooting for them. I wanted more of the spunk and heart of other Tarah books and this one fell flat for me. I don't think it was a problem with the book, I just wanted something it wasn't.

The small town romance trope with Tarah DeWitt's humor is a perfect combo! Even with MMC's damage, it felt really low stakes, and I can't tell if that's a good or a bad thing... The story was fun, but the characters didn't feel very real to me.

Overall I enjoyed the atmosphere & the characters in the story. The plot had me interested enough to keep reading but I just hoped for a little MORE at times. I would generally recommend this book for those who enjoy romance!

3.5 stars
I have been hearing about Tarah Dewitt's books for awhile now, and after finishing Savor It I wish I had picked them up sooner.
This was a sweet story about finding your place whether you've lived somewhere for your whole life or if you are in an unfamiliar environment. I liked both Sage and Fisher quite a bit. They felt grown up and like they didn't have to play a bunch of games or back and forth as their relationship developed.
The story flowed nicely and I liked Tarah's writing style. I hope we get books for some of the secondary characters introduced as well.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing an ARC for an honest review.

the audio was so good!! this story was a great mix of funny, charming and emotional & i had a great time reading it! how they spoke about their experiences with grief really got me. the characters were flawed but also so funny and relatable, even the side characters! small town romances always get me with the funny side characters of the folks living in the town! this was probably my fav tarah dewitt book yet! reading this made me so excited to read left of forever when it comes out!! the crumbs we got of ellis and wren??? yesss!! gimme right now please!!

Savor It was absolutely my favourite romance of 2024. It is truly a treat to read. It combines small town, grief, burn-out, cooking, animals, and gardening, with punny t-shirts and cow-print robes, tenderness, and spice—all in a little pink paper package that brings me so much joy!
It's a story of perseverance, life not being linear, love in the present, and purpose. It also tells the story of Sage, a ball of sunshine teacher who just has so much love to give, and Fisher, a talented chef with the weight of the world on his shoulder. Their love could conquer any mountain.
Please, read this, you won't regret gracing your life with this masterpiece.

I received an advanced copy of Savor It by Tarah DeWitt from the publisher St. Martin's Press via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
What It’s About: Sage Byrd has lived in the coastal town of Spunes, Oregon her entirely life, where she has establishes a hobby farm with a several misfit animals and friendships with the town’s inhabitants. However, she is dealing with the end of her five year relationship with the town golden-boy Ian, who has just gotten engaged. She needs a win that will convince everyone to stop pitying her, while also potentially putting Ian in his place. The Festival of Spunes, the town’s annual summer competition could be the perfect opportunity, if only she could find a partner. Fisher Lange was a hotshot chef in New York until the loss of his sister left him numb, grieving, and responsible for his teenage niece Indy. With the loss of his Michelin star along with his love of cooking, his boss sends him to Spunes on a sabbatical to consult of a restaurant opening. But the town is not thrilled and when a kiss with his new neighbor Sage catches the town eyes, a strategic alliance might be the best way to turn things around. A deal is struck: Sage will help Fisher’s image and remove roadblocks to their restaurants if Fisher will be Sage’s partner for the competition. But the pact soon moves into steamy rendezvous and emotional wounds begin to heal.
My Thoughts: I honestly don’t remember much from this book. I am writing this review later but I also felt this way at the time. I think this might have been a problem of listening to this book. This book is slow moving and did not immediately capture my attention, which unfortunately made me tune out a bit. I am clearly in the minority but this book was forgettable to me.
Who Should Read It: People who love small town slow burn romances.
Summary: A deal is made between two neighbors and healing begins.

This was felt like a warm hug. The way the story was setup and how Sage and Fisher's relationship developed. Tarah always makes it feel like we have found home along with the characters.
I recommend this if you would like to read a slow building romance that goes from friends to lovers.

I'll admit, what first grabbed me about this book was it being set in a town called Spunes, Oregon (not to be confused with Forks, Washington). I'm a simple woman.
But upon reading it, I thoroughly enjoyed the characters, their banter, the foodie aspect to the novel, and the small town charm with a cast of characters. It is your typical small town romance, friends to lovers, slow burn tropes, so nothing spectacularly new or refreshing, but it was a fun way to pass the time!

This was such a fun romance! I really loved the characters in this one and how they interacted with each other! There were so many cute and funny moments through this book and the chemistry between the characters was amazing! Definitely recommend checking this one out!

I have loved everything I've read by Tarah DeWitt, this one was no different. Tarah always writes emotional circumstances that bring her characters together, but when they finally collide it's electric every single time. Savor It is filled with the perfect amount of spice and banter despite the slow-burning romance. I always love a small town setting and this one delivered.
Loved this one! Always looking forward to more works by Tarah DeWitt!

This was a slightly spiced, slow burn, and cute sunshine grump romance. I really liked the small town backdrop and I think that vibe really was integral into the narrative. If you like stories that Have a Virgin River or Sullivan's Crossing, but with a foodie focus, then you will enjoy this book.
Please note: although I really enjoyed the storyline and romance, there were some pacing issues that I had with this story so you need to go into this wanting a read that paces itself more like real life than work of fiction.
One Sentence Review: Despite its slow burn pacing, this book will draw you in to its right spiced small town Pacific Northwest story and hold your interest while the spark of a Gump -Sunshine romance pulls on your heart as two people reach for and discover love.

What a fantastic novel! This was my first by Tarah DeWitt and I can't wait to read more from her! There was so much to love about Savor It; from the characters to the setting, it's all fantastic. This is one to check out if you love romance, and you'll certainly want to Savor it!
Thank you St. Martins Press and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was cute! I really enjoyed seeing Fisher and Sage’s relationship grow throughout the story and I loved that they were able to communicate with each other well. The small town setting was also cute and I liked the addition of fake dating. However, as a whole, I feel like not a lot happened in this book and I was left wanting more from parts of the story. It just felt a little slow overall. Regardless, I am still excited to read more from this author and in this series.

I love the way that Tarah Dewitt is able to build tension in her books because it makes it that much sweeter when the characters finally get together. The author did a great job of building anticipation and the characters had great chemistry. I also loved the small town vibes in this story.

First off, thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the arc, out now!
Now. Goodness. What a gorgeous book this was. I am truly in awe of Tarah’s writing. This was my first book by her and I genuinely can not wait to read her other books, especially Left Of Forever, will forever be gagged by these two covers because the way they so tightly hold each other, WHEWWWWWWW 😮💨
I love love love Sage and Fisher’s relationship. I truly enjoyed seeing their personal life mesh once they started getting to know one another. The writing itself was beautiful, but their story too, the love and care they provided for each other. Seeing Fisher blame himself and have to learn to accept what happened and work toward a better outcome. All of it, stunning. I hope Fisher and Indy heal from the pain they endured 🫂
And Sage was so real. So so real. I loved the journal she kept track of and the way she was there for everyone. Her relationship with her brothers and the people around her was so precious.
If you’re looking for a hot chef who wears earrings and is the guardian of his niece and a history teacher who is precious and gardens with a hot summer “fling” turned to the sweetest softest love, then this is for you. Oh! He also takes care of her so beautifully I was sobbing, thank you!
Tarah, you are such an incredible writer, I can not wait to read more of your work💜

This was an ARC from Netgalley and my first Tara DeWitt book. Safe to say it will not be my last!
I loved the Pacific Northwest and small town feel with a little bit of city vibes sprinkled in.
I adored Sage and her menagerie of animals (Gary the goose was my favorite) and Fisher and how he navigated his relationship with his niece, Indy who came to live with him after her mom died. The added small town competition was *chef’s kiss*.
I thought the brief fake dating into their whirlwind romance was fun and I adored their sweet, punny banter.

Okay I love a good slow burn but I have to know its a slow burn cause I'm impatient otherwise. Thank goodness I knew that this was one because once the match was lit this was game over!
I loved how both of them came together as friends first. They were trying to help one another out and on top of being friends they were fake dating, another trope love of mine. I enjoyed the dynamic between Fisher and Sage, but I also loved seeing how Indy was doing in all of this too. I was invested in this town, the people, and I went deep diving and saw that her brother is one of the next stories.... i. cannot. wait!

I read this and just couldn't get into it and tried as hard as I could ... it ended up being a DNF for me.
