Heyyyyyy St. Martin’s Press. I won’t be reviewing this title until you get yourselves together and respond to Readers for Accountability. It’s been five months and we aren’t going anywhere!

This was my first book by Tara DeWitt and I ended up having a great time. The story was a sweet reminder that life is what you make it and home is where you build community. All in all, I enjoyed this one and would definitely pick up more books by DeWitt in the future.

Pros:
- The chemistry between Fisher and Sage was amazing. That library scene though....
- Speaking of Fisher - loved this MMC. He was so sweet and caring and wow do I want a man to cook for me like that. He often had me grinning from ear to ear.
- All the quirky animals on the farm - I never thought I would want a pet goose but here we are.
- The small town vibes were top notch. I loved the Gilmore Girl inspired town meeting and just the general antics.
- The conversations on grief and loss were poignant.
- The characters were all pretty lovable and easy to root for.
- Dual POV is my fave.

Cons:
- The pacing was a bit off / jarring at times.
- I wasn't sure about the dialogue in the beginning as it didn't feel natural. But this did shift for me as the book progressed.
- I wish the side characters got a little more development - especially Indy. This could have helped to pay off the emotional beats a bit more.
- This book WILL make you hungry for earl grey scones.

I cannot wait to get a physical copy of this book, and then force all of my friends to read it! The read was super entertaining. The characters were relatable and adorable. Nothing felt forced as I was reading this. The storyline just kept getting better and better as the book went on.

A special thank you to Tarah DeWitt, Netgalley, and St. Martin's Press for this e-ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

This is a fun romance about finding yourself so you can figure out where you belong and who you belong with. Not just romantically but finding your people and what makes you happy. I enjoyed the romance but even more, I appreciated the message of whatever brings you joy is enough. You don't have to have a fancy job or live in a certain place. Doing what makes you happy is a life well lived, whatever that looks like.

This book gave me Beach Read by Emily Henry vibes. I really enjoyed it.

Thank you to St. Martin’s Griffin, Tarah DeWitt, and NetGalley for this ARC! All opinions are my own.

I was sucked in to this book based on the beautiful cover and the story inside ended up being just as lovely! Spunes felt like such a perfect small town that I would move to immediately, and the whole book made me want to eat some delicious food, buy a farm, and also be part of a canoe race. I also really enjoyed how DeWitt built the relationship and dynamic between Fisher and Sage, as well as their backstories, and how well and sensitively their grief and experiences were handled. The whole love story just felt so tender and sweet, which made the spicy scenes feel even more meaningful!

You can expect: chef MMC, teacher/gardener/farmer FMC, small town, unexpected guardian, grumpy/sunshine (for a bit), forced proximity, friends with benefits, fake dating.

TW: grief, death of a family member, injury (off-page to a peripheral character)

I need a physical copy of this book STAT. There are so many lines and passages that demand to be highlighted.

Savor It is phenomenal and I couldn't put it down. No notes, no complaints. Only, now, I'm a girl in search of a misfit pet.

My god, the writing in this book is unreal. Tarah, what sort of sorcery did you do to acquire such writing talent?? How are you *this* good at writing emotions and tough subjects? This book is equally heart-wrenching and amusing. These characters are so real that I'm not fully convinced that they're fictional.

Sage and Fisher are next level. I want to move to Spunes and enter in their annual competition and never leave. I will start studying up on my Spunes/PNW history now.

Tropes: single guardian, forced proximity, grumpy x sunshine, small town, fake dating.

Also, pleassseeeee give us a whole little standalone series set in Spunes... there is just too much potential there (cough Ellis and Wren cough). I'm begging you.

*I received an e-arc of Savor It from NetGalley and St. Martin's Press in exchange for an honest review.

Fischer and Sage are everything. I went into this story without knowing a thing and I haven’t read any other titles by Tarah Dewitt but I am in love.

Fisher and Sage find themselves temporary summer neighbors in Sage’s small town. There is a pretty instant chemistry and attraction, yet it builds slowly in a way too.

These two are the absolute masters of speaking in puns, innuendos, and making me get butterflies over their delicious banter. There is open door spice that isn’t overly explicit, but is so satisfying and steamy.

I haven’t laughed this much at a book in a while. Tears were also shed but I loved every minute.

This was a fun read!

Sage and Fisher's interactions made for an entertaining read, and Indy's character gave a whole other perspective on Sage and Fisher. The storyline was great, and the book was a good read overall.

Roses: I really loved this story. The relationships in this were so beautifully written and none of them felt out of place. The hard hitting topics these characters dealt with I thought were handled well and weren’t used as a dark cloud that overshadowed the main characters choices. The romance was so good. Even though it was a slow burn it had enough pining that made it tolerable. I really love Sage. Which is a big thing with me. I connected with her on so many things that made me root for her to have everything she deserved. I found her to be so funny and quick witted. She really was relatable and didn’t come across like she was trying to hard to be a main character. Fisher was pretty great too. I love his vulnerability when sharing his tough moments with Sage. His love for her was sweet and so passionate. I also really enjoyed Indy. She was complex and really showed a different perspective in regards to how she was coping with all of the change happening in her life.

Thorns: It could have been quicker pacing wise. The beginning was a slow compared to the rest of the story. The spicy scenes were sometimes a little weird. They came off like the author didn’t want to be too detailed but because of that it seems like the author didn’t feel super confident in her spicy scene writing.

Guys. This book. I’m going to have to go back and highlight some stuff. Because for looking like a fluffy romcom, it’s sweet and beautiful and wrenching and I adored every single second of it, ridiculous puns and all. If I could, I’d pack up and move to Spunes (and that is said as a born and raised California girl who knows exactly what everyone in Oregon thinks of us).

Fisher is…EVERYTHING. I want one.

ARC REVIEW
5⭐️s
Sage & Fisher stole my heart immediately; the perfect love story working through grief, anxiety, found family and much more. This may be Tarah’s best work yet, perfectly balanced banter, romance, struggling with what the characters wants and need. I cannot wait for the world to meet this perfectly, imperfect couple and their found family.

This was such an entertaining lighthearted romance. I was getting frustrated because I got busy after I started it and wasn’t able to pick it up as much as I wanted.

Sage is a sweet, caring, heart of gold, small town girl that wants the best for everyone she knows. Fischer is the big shot chef from New York coming to Spunes, Oregon to gain some control of his life after its been comepletly derailed. Both are broken in different ways that are lovable and relatable but they come together to heal over the summer.

My Rating:
This was a solid 4 star for me and there were so many hilarious moments that I was actually laughing out loud for. I will be checking out more from Tarah Dewitt after this one.

This book was so good! I had never read a book by this author before, but I will be reading all her books after this! I loved the story! (I’m a sucker for a small town romance) I found it to be a quick and fast-paced read, in the sense that the storyline progressed pretty fast.
I loved Sage and Fisher together, they were just so cute! They are one of my favourite couples! Some of the recipes that he came up with sounded so good and I would totally eat them. I liked Sage’s big family and how close she was to her brothers. The way she connected with Indy (Fisher’s niece) was just what both of them needed in the story, and all the animals in the story were just so funny! We can’t forget about her sunroom, that room seems like it would be a dream for readers. The setting of Spunes seemed like such a nice place to live and I would love to live there!
Tarah DeWitt wrote this book wonderfully, mixing many moments of laughter and sadness in a complimentary way. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick, sweet read that will have you laughing! All in all, I really loved this book and will recommend it!

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC!

This was my first read by this author but it won't be my last!

I thought the writing style was beautiful. This book was funny but also had some gut-wrenching moments. Gotta love duality!

I had fun, it is a book that I would definitely recommend to others. My only thing is that I wasn't 100% convinced about the romance between the two main characters. I liked the story enough, but I don't know that I felt that much chemistry between them.

Will still be reading other books by this author!

oh my god, this book is absolutely perfect in every way. This was my first Tarah Dewitt book and let me just say, I have found a new comfort author!! <3

Tarah has written a beautiful story of a small town romance, filled with characters that truly feel like friends and family. She tells a heartwarming story that highlights real and raw emotions that these characters are trying to navigate through. From the small town locals to even the animals on the farm, Tarah creates such depth with her characters. It truly made me so invested with the story as a whole and had me fall even more in love with it. This story will hold a special place in my heart forever, it was an absolute honor and privilege to read this book.

Fisher and Sage’s romance throughout this story is one of pure, selfless love. The angst and tension building up to when they finally get together is also just perfect!! The amount of times I found myself giggling out loud and blushing is a true testament to that. The growth you get to witness within the pages of this story, of each individual character and within Fisher and Sage’s relationship, is truly stunning. Their love is EVERYTHING! I don’t want to spoil anything so let me just say please please pleaseee go read this book when it comes out, you won’t regret it. Definitely keep some tissues nearby though, you might need them! :’’)

Thank you so much to netgalley for giving me this ARC in exchange for an honest review! <3

Thank you NetGalley, St. Martin’s Press, and Tarah DeWitt for the early access copy of Savor It.

Savor It is a small town, dual point-of-view, summer romance. Sage lives on a hobby farm (lovely animals, flowers, gardening, BEAUTIFUL sunroom) and Fisher is a NYC Michelin star chef who needs to reset. He is the guardian of his niece Indy, who is dealing with the loss of her single mother.

This slow burn romance emphasizes open and honest communication. It depicts grief and not being at your best in a realistic way. It also shows it’s okay to be a mess, to fall in love, and not try to change your love interest. The secondary characters are realistic and well written. It’s hard not to miss the characters and setting now being done the book.

If a secondary character were to ever get a story, I’d hands down read it. I’m rooting for Wren and Ellis.

Thank you to NetGalley, St. Martin’s Griffen, and Tarah Dewitt for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book was like a warm hug. Sage and Fisher were two characters that you couldn’t help but love. I really loved them together, but I enjoyed them both individually almost just as much. I love that we got to really see and flesh them both out as characters so much! The plot was enjoyable, emotional, and romantic. This was the perfect romance read the break up from of my heavier fantasy books.

Confusing...

Savor It begins with an information dump I unfortunately had to reread several times (and I still don't think I understand who's who). The beginning felt long-winded and contrived and honestly a bit disappointing to me. I loved Tarah DeWitt's other books but this one felt a bit like a case of trying-too-hard from the first page.

I'll probably try a reread at some point because I honestly do love Tarah's writing but right now this book is not it for me. If you love the TV show The Bear you may love it! (I haven't seen the show but I really don't think that should be a prerequisite to read this book)

✨ BOOK REVIEW ✨ Savor It by Tarah DeWitt

~ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 💫 ~

Okay call me crazy but for whatever reason, this one just didn’t fully do it for me. It was beyond adorable from the small time vibes to the bustling farm animals and everything in between, but I found myself a little bored. That being said, it could’ve also just been the time and place that I was reading it 🤷🏼‍♀️

The things I loved?
📖 The goats 🐐- easily my favorite characters
📖 DeWitt’s depiction and nuance navigating grief, and doing so from so many relational perspectives
📖 Sage & Fisher’s budding love 💕 (but more specifically, their love for gooood food)
📖 Sage’s sunroom which I can only imagine is the reading nook / journaling haven / sunroom of my dreams

And I’m going to leave you all with my fave quote from the book, “I think I keep my world small so I don’t feel insignificant in it.” That hit me to the ~core~

HUGE thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and Tarah DeWitt for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
