I really enjoyed reading this book. It dealt with all aspects of life. You travel the path of a woman’s childhood, her joys and sorrows, loves, friendships, losses and family. The story is carefully crafted and yet it leaves you hanging on every word to see just what will become of her. I highly recommend this to readers and think you will enjoy it. The basis of the story is a young Cornish girl named Liv who falls in love with a musician who lives in America. She and Finn hold on to a beautiful friendship and love when he returns to her every year for the summer as long as they are both still single. It happens when she is struggling with her life without her parents and taking care of her younger brother. They love each other but their lives are on two different continents and they know it is not to be. Or is it? The story focuses on seven years of their reunions. This is the ultimate beach read. The story is a rollercoaster of emotions and the characters are loveable. She is such a gifted author and I look forward to more of her books in the future.
I wish to thank NetGalley and Penguin Group – G P Putnam and Sons Publishers for allowing me to read a copy of this book. I have voluntarily read and reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

What I thought would be more of a light summer read and love triangle story, turned out to be anything but fluffy. There were so many layers of grief and trauma mixed in with Livs love story. I loved the span of the story over seven summers, and the book didn’t end where I expected it to. I enjoyed the character arcs and growth throughout. This was my first book from Toon, but won’t be my last!
Thank you NetGalley and Penguin Group Putnam for my ARC in exchange for my honest feedback!

Well that was an emotional rollercoaster, but I didn’t cry—almost did though. The book actually takes place over a few decades, skipping back and forth through time. It could be considered a love triangle but I really didn’t think it was, at least not in the typical way one thinks about it. To me it’s more of a second-chance soulmates book—love is never enough, it’s also timing. That being said, I was cheering for both of the guys, but in their own time. My favorite character was Liv’s brother Michael, he was funny and so protective of her. And I loved that she was a sculptor, I always love some art references in a book. Not a light beach read, but definitely one to read this summer.

I am a sucker for summer romance books and this one is definitely perfect! This is not a light, fluffy read, but has depth and some tragedy.
I liked the flow of this book and the time periods covered in Seven Summers. I think the overall message of this was beautiful and moving.
I would recommend this book!

This was my first Paige Toon book but definitely won’t be my last. I really enjoyed the way the book is set up going between summers. I struggled (in a good way) throughout the book to decide which guy to root for to win over Liv. The setting was great and made you feel the emotions of the book even more. I’m betting this will be a big hit for the summer!

Seven Summers is my second read by Paige Toon. In this book, Liv and Finn have a summer romance each summer for many years, but life doesn't allow them to be in the same place for most of the year. But, when Finn returns home to visit his grandparents, they inevitably find their way to each other. While I enjoyed the premise of this book and have read other books of similar storylines, I did not quite buy completely into Finn & Liv's relationship. It just wasn't quite there for me. But interesting storyline nonetheless, it did not end where I thought it would.

Reading this book was an emotional rollercoaster that left me both heartbroken and deeply satisfied. The unexpected twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat, while the depth of the characters' struggles resonated with me profoundly.
The main character, burdened with a tragic curse and the responsibility of caring for her brother, captured my heart from the very beginning. Her resilience and determination in the face of such overwhelming adversity were inspiring. I felt her pain and her hope, and I couldn't help but root for her every step of the way.
The romance in the story was equally compelling. She falls for someone she believes is unattainable, and their fleeting moments together each summer were both beautiful and heartbreaking. The way their love was portrayed – divided and complicated, yet hopeful – added a rich layer to the narrative.
Despite the sorrow and the struggles, there was a persistent thread of hope and new possibilities that kept me turning the pages. The ending, though unexpected, brought a sense of closure and a new beginning that felt right for the characters I had come to love so much.
In short, this book took me on an emotional journey that I won't soon forget. It made me cry, it made me hope, and it made me believe in the power of love and resilience. Highly recommended for anyone who loves a story that touches the heart and stays with you long after the last page is turned.

How much heartbreak can a person experience before they are permanently shattered? In SEVEN SUMMERS, Paige Toon explores the devastating effects of grief and the healing power of love.
Liv and Finn grew up in the close knit town of Cornwall, but their love story begins when Liv returns after studying at university. Both have been touched by enormous loss. Both carry the expectations of being the family caretaker. Both have big dreams that extend beyond Cornwall. They find solace in each other which quickly grows to love, but reality has a way of interfering. They promise to reunite each summer as long as both are single and, through the years, their love and dependence on each other grows. But, so does the pain that accompanies the end of each summer reunion.
The reader accompanies Liv and Finn through the years and watches them struggle to nurture a relationship while following the individual paths they've chosen. We watch their hearts heal and break over and over again. Great love is capable of causing great pain and we begin to wonder how much these vulnerable characters can withstand.
Paige Toon deftly crafted a novel which is not afraid to take the reader on an emotional roller coaster ride. At the conclusion of this book, my heart was tender and my tears were flowing. It is a beautiful testament to hope and healing.
Thank you to NetGalley and Putnam Books for the opportunity to read an advance copy in exchange for my unbiased review. All opinions are my own.

i genuinely really liked this book!! it was so original and refreshing.
it follows liv for seven summers (the title is pretty self explanatory haha).
it has the love triangle trope with finn and tom but it’s actually good (and not like other love triangle books).
it’s really deep and heartbreaking which can be a bit harder to read if you’re in a slump but i really liked it because of that.

I will not be posting this review on my social media because I don’t think it is a bad book, it just is not a book for me. I should have read the description closer before requesting it because I do not like love triangles. Paige Toon reminds me of British Colleen Hoover. I am not a CoHo fan but will recommend her to my friends looking for something similar to Colleen Hoover.

I had just finished another Paige Toon book when this one came up on NetGalley and couldn't wait to grab it. Moving between the present day and the tumultuous events of the six previous summers, Seven Summers takes the reader on the emotional journey that is Liv and Finn’s relationship. There were two great love stories in the book and I couldn't choose between them. Fortunately, the author knew what I wanted better than I did. The story was beautiful, heartbreaking and unpredictable. Seven Summers is a heart wrenching story about love, loss, family, and fate. Paige Toon is going to break your heart and then put it back together with a satisfying ending. Have tissues handy when you read!

This book was amazing - I don’t know where Paige Toon has been my whole life! A perfect summer read full of heart, art and all the moods (yes, grab tissues). Liv, Finn (and Tom and Michael) are such great, soulful, deeply moving characters that I was SO invested in. Make it through the first couple summers and you’ll be hooked. Paige does such a great job time hopping between summers so I looked forward to each change (which is not something I usually like). Excuse me while I go binge the rest of her books.

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Group Putnam for the eARC.
PAIGE TOON. Good grief!! You break my heart every time. Read this.

“Seven Summers” is a love story between Liz and Finn, who meet while Finn is visiting his grandparents in Cornwall, where Liz lives. Despite their strong connection, neither can relocate to the other’s home. Finn, haunted by bad memories of Cornwall and aspiring to a music career, believes he must be in Los Angeles. Liz, on the other hand, has to stay in Cornwall to care for her brother, who has disabilities. Instead of moving, they agree to meet every summer.
This is an emotional story from both perspectives, with additional subplots that add depth. You’ll want to keep tissues handy. Having never read a Paige Toon book before, I am now eager to explore more of her work.

Such a devastatingly emotional and beautiful combination of a couple strung together by the summer season.
Finn and Liv were characters that I didn’t know whether to love or hate on their own, but found myself rooting for as a couple from beginning to end. I found this enjoyable in a weird way because it was a unique situation for me. I also loved the past and present timelines, taking readers back to prior summers to visualize young love and how it evolves and matures over the years. It was raw, real, and uncomfortable at times, but also very relatable. My emotions were taken on one heck of a ride and I’m still recovering…but I do have to say that I loved the ending and I’m low-key wondering if that makes me a terrible person 😅
I highly recommend adding this to your summer TBR!
Thank you NetGalley & G.P. Putnam’s Sons for a #gifted eARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Rating: 4.5/5
I received eARC for my honest opinion.
WOW!!! Why have I not read any of Paige's books before, she is amazing. I can’t believe all the emotions that I felt while reading this book: love interests(multiple), grief, trauma, romance, and heartbreak. This book was beautiful, heartbreaking, heartwarming and devastating at parts but I would still recommend it to anyone.
When reading this book, you will be taken to the rugged Cornish coastline with an amazing view of the ocean, with a bar that everyone goes to in the summer months and to a cute Airbnb that Liv starts up. I wasn’t sure what kind of book I was getting myself into, honestly, I thought it was a romcom and it is but so much more. I would have to say that Paige Toon is now up there with Abby Jimenez books with the emotional damage and being able to pick up your broken heart and piece it back together. She has a way with her lyrical words that will be having you sitting on the edge of your seat non-stop reading this book. The plot does follow a few different timelines and at first, I thought I would hate that it would go to the past then present but it really helped me to understand all the feelings that Liv and Finn were going through. This book is fast paced, and the characters are so easy to connect with and relate too that you feel all their pain with them.
Liv, I loved her right away and the more and more I got to understand her side of the story, I found myself able to relate to her more and more. I loved that she was determined to keep to her guns, and I could understand the reasons, but that didn’t stop me from wanting to shake her a few times. I loved getting to see her growth as a character throughout the book. Finn, I loved him right away. I was a little mad at first about how things went down but I understood the reasons. It was fun getting to see the other side of him when he was younger and to understand his feelings for Liv. I didn’t think I would like Tom that much because of how much I loved Liv and Finn, but I loved that he was able to help her with her growth as an adult and really helped her to get the happy ending that she deserved.
If you are looking for a sweet romcom look here but be ready to have your heart strings pulled and your heartbroken, but don’t worry the author will piece it back together for you.
I want to thank NetGalley and Penguin group for the opportunity to review this book.

WOWZA!
Seven Summers is not your typical romance book. Not by a long shot. It is original, endearing, refreshing, emotion evoking, thought provoking, and captivating. It's all about the journey for me with romance books and WOW what a journey!
Liv and Finn had bright futures when they met at a bar on the Cornish coastline. Liv is a local who dreams of being an artist and Finn is a musician from Los Angeles. They share a wonderful night together but then tragedy strikes. Finn must return to L.A. while Liv must stay in Cornwall. They make a promise to spend their summers together if both are single...
Tom is a new arrival in Cornwall and he and Liv have a connection....
I had no idea what I was getting into when I began this book. I loved the author's book Only Love Can Hurt Like This and was excited to start this book. I was instantly transported to the Cornish Coast, charmed by the characters, and feeling for what life throws their way. I kept my fingers crossed for them to both be single so they could spend their summers together. I also loved Tom's character and rooted for him and Liv as well.
This book had me thinking about it when I had to put it down. My heart soared, my heart broke, I cheered, I felt sad, I smiled, and I enjoyed the ride Page Toon took me on. Plus, I adored Liv's brother.
Wonderfully written, endearing, captivating and evoking emotion.

Liv and Finn met 6 summers ago in their hometown of Cornwall and fell in love while Finn was visiting his mother’s family for 6 weeks; on their last night together they experienced both a wonderful, amazing night and then something traumatic, bonding them forever. For the next few summers Finn returns on that anniversary and their love continues to grows but also keeps them stunted, not allowing Finn to move on with his life in LA and Liv's in Cornwall. But eventually Finn moves on with his and Liv realizes that she needs to learn how to as well. Then a new man, Tom comes into town and Liv can finally envision herself without Finn for the first time.
I had never read @paigetoonauthor before (I will definitely be putting her backlist on my TBR and telling my best friend about her for the beach this summer) and this very subtle and moody love story just hit the spot. I really liked all of the characters, even when their decisions were frustrating to me. I fell hard for the couple (actually all the couples in the book) and could not stop turning the pages because I needed to see where their lives were going to end up. This one has tragedy, love and second chances - and I just fell for it. I loved how the book was set up - each summer is a mini story and the present day is interspersed throughout the novel, and then the epilogue is also broken up by future summers. If you're in the mood for a love story and can deal with some heartache - I suggest picking this one up.

If you’re a romance reader who loves having your heart torn apart by a couple you wish would be together, this book is for you! I am so glad I finally got to experience a Paige Toon book!
Finn and Liv put me through the wringer, whew!
Finn and Liv met six summers ago, and with each summer, Finn returned to Liv, until one summer, everything changed. Although romantic and angsty, the story still aptly explores the burden of grief and loss. It has a great cast of characters, and the shifting timeline allows the plot to unfold gently—just hold on to your heart.
Thank you @putnambooks and @penguinrandomhouse for the gifted digital arc and thank you @PRHaudio for the gifted audiobook.

The tale of two epic lovestories spanning over seven summers between Liv, Finn, & Tom. This truly was a masterpiece.
Reading & loving "Only Love Can Hurt Like This," last year, I knew Paige's new novel was also going to wreck me. "Seven Summers" is a beautifully written book that is perfect for the summer. And fall. And winter. And spring. The vibes for sure are of summer, but this heartwarming story will captivate you anytime.
As many of you know, live triangles are my kryptonite, especially the ones where choosing one love interest will wreck you. I loved how Liv had different dynamics with Finn & Tom. One was like the waves-coming & going but never staying in one place and the other like the sand--soft, stable, & present.
Without spoiling too much, I'll say how brilliant the writing was when it went from 7 summers ago, 6 summers ago...to 6 summers later, 7 summers later. The narrative was poetic & even though I could guess how it was going to end, I still wasn't prepared for the whirlwind romance.
This book reminded me of some of my recent favorites, "Expiration Dates" and "The Last Love Note."
