absolutely adored this story. i laughed, i cried & i was fully invested in these characters. would definitely recommend!

Liz and Finn meet on the Cornish coastline, but Finn's home is in the United States, they agree to meet every summer as long as they are single. will this be the year they don't meet?

Absolutely 5⭐️ read!! I was not ready for the heart wrenching roller coaster of emotions I was about to experience! Story goes from past and present of several summers and two amazing love stories! I will cherish this book forever!
Thank you NetGalley!

Surely a good beach read and atmospheric with the summer cottage setting, but it reminded me so much of Emily Henry’s People We Meet on Vacation, I had a hard time getting into the story with the more flowery writing style. The pact was a cute touch!

I got the got of being able to read this early. And I have to say it was an incredible read. I got so sucked into Liv and her story. Definitely hits you in the feels. I loved how well the author wrote this book. Will happily recommend this to others!

I've discovered Page Toon recently and find her writing voice to be honest, raw and pleasing. She takes on some hard topics in this book (as she has done in other's she has written) so be forewarned to browse the topics that may be sensitive. to some readers.
Liv and Finn have this "pact" that they maintain for 7 summers; no contact throughout the year and each summer if they are both single, they will resume their intimate relationship. The author does create a nice slow burn between these two and at times it's a little frustrating to know how much each of them cares for the other but their time is so short-lived.
My heart broke for this couple in so many ways but the raw, emotional story was written so well that I could actually feel the pain coming from both of them.
Just when you think Liv has moved on, there's even more twists to the story.
I can only say that if you go into this as blindly as possible, your heart will soar, fall and then fly once more.... it's beautiful and I really recommend this one!

I'm so sorry but I really struggled with this book. I had a hard time getting into the story and a harder time really caring at all about Liv. I wanted to enjoy this book but I just don't think it was the right timing for me. I'm certain a lot of people out there will enjoy this story but it just wasn't for me.
Thank you netgalley for the review copy.

This was a nice diversion from my usual heavier reads . It took a while to get in to the groove with the alternating summers but once I did it was hard to put down.
Thank you to net galley for the advanced reader copy .

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and getting to see Liv and her story. I loved watching her and Finn’s love story play out.. but then here comes Tom.. I really wanted to stay team Finn.. but I became team Tom. Esp after her friends reiterated how happy she was.. and I loved their love story too..
Ughh a love triangle.. and of course tears were shed.. I really hoped the story wasn’t going to play out this way but it did.. and my heart hurts in alot of ways but it’s also happy. One part of me is devastated and the other part of me is so happy..
Anyway it was a good read! A lot of tragedy and a lot of growth and happiness!!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. My review is strictly my own.
I am not a fan of books that go back and forth between the past and present but this book really drew me in.
Liv is home for the summer from University and has plans to only stay for the summer. Tragedy strikes and her dreams fall apart. Finn enters the scene on holiday from American and they become involved. A beautiful and heartbreaking story of loss, love, grief and healing through 7 summers.
Great story and characters were engaging.

This is such a beautiful but also heartbreaking story that spans the love story of Liv and Finn over six summers. They meet one summer, discover that one lives in the UK and the other in Los Angles and they make a pact to come together and continue their romance each summer if they are both single. I think this book is so much more than a romance; it's about love, loss, grief, family, angst, friendships and the choices we have to make for our own happiness. I think it's best to go into this blind, because so much happens and the ending is something you'll never forget.
Thank you to NetGalley and G.P. Putnam's Sons for the eARC of this book.

Thank you Netgalley and Penguin Random House for the ARC!
This was an amazing read! I predict this will be one of the top reads this summer and I couldn't put this down once I started reading! I loved Paige's writing and her ability to make you feel all of the emotions throughout - pain, guilt, happiness. I also loved the overall setting of the book and how charming it was.
I don't typically like love triangles or flipping back and forth between the past and present, but Seven Summers is definitely an exception! I throughly enjoyed this book, and look forward to reading more from Paige!

This book was definitely heart felt. I loved Liv and can’t imagine her position. She had to face a lot of hardships and it definitely tugged at my heartstrings. I adored Michael and loved all of his scenes. He always managed to make me laugh. This will be the perfect beach read! Thank you to NetGalley for my e-arc!

"Seven Summers" by Paige Toon was a wonderful, yet very emotional, book. Through the main character, Liv, we experience love, friendship, grief, resiliency and every emotion in between. I found myself torn between Liv's love interests: Finn and Tom. Who would she choose if she had to? Who would I choose? How could she keep going back to him every summer knowing he would wreck her when he left? Would I go back?
Here are a few things I enjoyed about "Seven Summers": (1) the back and forth between present day and past summers, (2) the relationship every character in this book has with Liv's brother, (3) the love story with Finn, (4) the love story with Tom, and (5) not knowing how this book was going to end even into the epilogue. I stayed up late and woke early to finish this book! It was an endearing, emotional story, and I was rooting for Liz the whole time!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Penguin Group Putnam for the eARC to read in exchange for an honest review.

This is an achingly beautiful love story, but it’s much more than that too. It’s a story of grief, friendships, family and moving forward when it seems impossible to do so.
Liv and Finn are the perfect couple, except for one thing. Liv lives in the UK and Finn lives in Los Angeles. Though they choose not to carry on a long distance relationship, they do get together every summer, and if they’re both single, their love story continues.
The story moves between past and present seamlessly, the characters are well rounded and very likable, and the plot is a whirlwind of emotional ups and downs. I highly recommend this 5-star book to readers of romance and women’s fiction alike. Thank you, NetGalley and Penguin Group Putnam for the ARC. This hits the shelves on May 21, 2024.

Really enjoyed reading this book it was definetly an emotional rollercoaster, but well.worth it. The relationship Liv has with Finn was soo sweet, but sounded heartbreaking at the end of the summer. Although, it did not make me hope that they would get back together the next summer. Then comes Tom and he seemed perfect for Liv, and after all that she had been through she deserved to be happy. Highly suggest reading could not put this down. #sevensummers #netgalley #mustread24

I tore through this in just a couple days! I loved the character of Liv, and found reading about her core friendships really lovely. I love a supportive friend group! I also thought Finn was realistic, and found myself putting myself in her position and relating quite a lot. The Tom part felt a little too put-on--I wondered if maybe he was a serial killer, it was too good to be true--but I guess the whirlwind was the point.

Paige Toon is one of my favorite authors. She has the ability to weave together beautiful descriptive stories and fully develop her characters; I always find myself fully entrenched in character's journey. Seven Summers was no exception. Toon tells the story of Liv and Finn, who meet and fall in love but are unable to fully commit to a relationship given circumstances on both sides. Through the years, both encounter tragedy and challenges. In true Paige Toon style, this book was an emotional ride. Her talent for developing characters means that you deeply feel every moment of grief, disappointment, joy, and love along with the characters. Seven Summers was a beautiful story and though the ending was satisfying, I found it somewhat difficult to believe. For that reason only, I am giving it 4 stars rather than 5. Overall, it was definitely one of those books that I couldn't put down and was sad when it was over.
Thank you NetGalley and Paige Toon for the ARC of Seven Summers.

I have been provided with a review copy of Seven Summers from NetGalley for an impartial review. This book was just so easy to get lost in. I completely got lost in the story and I just loved getting to see these new characters come together. I just absolutely love this story and I just didn’t want to put it down. I can’t wait to see what’s next from this author.

Seven Summers is my first read from author Paige Toon.
Seven years ago, Liv is fresh out of college and home for the summer in Cornwall. An aspiring sculptor, she has big plans and they’re not in her small town. She soon gets romantically involved with Finn, the alluring lead singer at the local bar’s band. Their happiness is short-lived when it's abruptly shattered by a tragic event, rooting her to her town and forcing her to give up her dreams to go to London to pursue her artistic ambitions. She also has to bid farewell to Finn who is returning home to L.A. But before he leaves they make a pact- that he will visit every summer and if they’re both single, they’ll be together for the season. Every summer, Liv and Finn spend a couple of months of bliss marred each time by separation.
Now in the present, brokenhearted and tired of putting her life on hold for Finn, she meets Tom, a tourist with an obscure background. As the summer approaches, she falls in love with Tom and has to decide which of the two men she wants to make her life with- should she choose Finn, with whom she shares a profound and complex history, or should she embrace the uncomplicated love and fresh start offered by sweet Tom.
I thought the premise of this book was interesting, but it didn't exactly meet my expectations. I would read more from this author and recommend this book to followers
