I really enjoyed the plot of this book but it was hard to connect with the FMC. It was a fun read though! I definitely giggled a few times while reading it.
I haven’t read any books written by either of these authors, but it was a privilege to be chosen as an arc reader for this book. I don’t think I am the target audience for this book, while reading the synopsis for it, I thought I would be. I just couldn’t get myself to be immersed in this book. Sad to say that I had to DNF this book, I hope I can go back in the future and read this again, and hopefully update my rating/review.
This was an amazing story with amazing prose and great twists and turns. And the spice was, as usual with these 2 incredible authors, top-notch. Crystal & Felicity are auto-buy authors for me for sure ♡
Unleashing Chaos by Crystal J. Johnson is an exciting and action-packed fantasy novel that dives into a world of magic, betrayal, and personal transformation. The story follows a powerful protagonist who must confront both external threats and internal struggles while navigating a dangerous, chaotic world filled with dark forces.
Johnson’s world-building is vivid and immersive, drawing readers into a complex universe where magic plays a central role in shaping the characters’ destinies. The plot is fast-paced, with plenty of twists and turns that keep the tension high throughout the book. The characters, especially the lead, are well-developed, with personal growth being a major theme as they learn to harness their abilities and face difficult moral choices.
The novel blends high stakes action with emotional depth, making it a compelling read for fans of fantasy with strong character arcs. Unleashing Chaos is a gripping tale of power, resilience, and the fight for control, perfect for readers who enjoy epic fantasy with dynamic characters and a rich magical landscape.
I love this duo so much! Thank you Crystal and Felicity for sending me Unleashing Chaos! I absolutely devoured this! The characters and the world! I cannot wait for more!
Was not a huge fan of this book. It started off good but by half way through I was underwhelmed.... I ended up not finishing the book ending at 78%
This was a first from this author duo and I had a fun time! There may have been one scene that I was not so patiently waiting for and it delivered!
This was such a fun read! Desi is such a relatable character when it comes to being an awkward person, anxieties, and life pressure. I really appreciated accurate anxiety representation in Jace’s character as well. The banter between the roommates, friendship, and chemistry was INCREDIBLE. I was laughing out loud and awing through the whole book. I inhaled this in a couple of days. I wish we could see more about Cannon’s next moves, but the ending was truly great.
I don't want to give anything away but in will say hold on to someone this book will have you never wanting it to end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These authors make beautifully spicy books when they're collaborating and are widely loved in the Dark Romance genre for their morally black smut. So this was an unexpected turn, and I had to jump on it.
This was a lighter version of their writing and very enjoyable in more of the romantic sense. The push and pull between Jace and Desi had my mind stressed and my heart aching.
Jace was falling and denying himself constantly, but the man knew how to love all along.... *swoon*
"She’s unadulterated chaos, wreaking havoc on my sanity. She’s also the vibrant morning sky, bringing shades of electric green, fiery red, and passionate purple to my monochrome life."
- Jace.
This was one of those books that you smash through in a day because the tension and angst have you craving more with every page.

Holy hot tamales! You want a paranormal romance that has spice, banter and the whole nine yards? This!!! This right here!!!! It was holy hottttt cinnamon bears!!! 🥵🥵
This was a fun one. The world created by the authors was super interesting, with demons/angels and the fact that most of the story was set in the human world made it quite easy to navigate.

Right from the start, the story pulled me in. The characters were nice to follow and I enjoyed the humor and vibe of it all. Our main characters developed quite a nice friendship and it was nice how they cared about one another. There was a bit of a love triangle but considering the strong friendships it somehow felt different and didn't put me off as it sometimes does when I don't know who to root for.
Discovering Desi's world was quite interesting and getting to see how life is different from the human world and all. I'd say that for the major part, this book felt more of a contemporary read (not in a bad way, but just because it all looks like a normal life minus the Jedi way of moving things, haha) so getting into a different world really made for a different vibe suddenly and got me intrigued once again.
I did have a bit of trouble wrapping my mind around our character's age. They were way younger in my head and I honestly cannot imagine it any other way with how they were acting and all... but that did not affect my reading experience, it was more of an after thought. The push and pull between Desi and Jace was a bit frustrating to go through, it sometimes felt like things were going backwards, which made this book feel way too long in my opinion. And in the end, we did not really get to see Jace's evolution clearly, like he just clicked a switch and suddenly all fears were gone and he was okay with everything. I needed more than that for this to be believable.
Overall, it was an entertaining read, I liked all the characters, just didn't fell hard for any and that can be a let down for me. I was interested enough to always continue reading but when I stopped I didn't feel the urge to get back to this one, if it makes sense. Might be a mood thing or it just was too long for me, I can't explain, because at first I was really into it. I did like the twists at the end even though it was a bit predictable it felt good that something a bit more dramatic was happening.
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the eARC. All opinions are my own.
If you're into fantasy with a touch of romance, "Infernis" might be right up your alley. Set in modern-day Denver, Desi, a demon from Infernis, has 90 days to find her eternal partner before becoming queen of Sloth. Living with two handsome roommates, Cannon and Jace, Desi navigates online dating and sparks fly with Jace despite his reservations from past heartbreak. The story blends humor, fake dating, and forced proximity into a satisfying romantasy with a twisty ending. Great for fans of engaging romance and enjoyable tropes!
I was provided an ARC of this title for free and am leaving this review voluntarily. All thoughts and opinions ar my own.

I loved this story. I was so captivated that I did not want to put it down! loved the authors' take on the afterlife it was great. Absolutely adored the characters and plot. But this quote just got me in feelings “But in the eye of her storm, there is a sweet moment of calm. She is the most beautiful chaos"
I don't have enough words to say how much I love this book but I can say that I woke in the middle of the night, I started reading and I couldn't stop until I finally finished it.. I didn't knew what to expect to be honest but this book was a breath of fresh air.. It was funny, sexy, cozy and intense at the same time.. I loved Desi and Jace and the way their relationship was built

𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢 is a demon princess who is feisty and creates chaos AND has 90 days to find a husband otherwise her father will step in and set her up with someone. She goes to the human world to find a husband and in the mean time she needs a place to stay. She found this house that is gorgeous and perfect and the owner is renting a room and when she shows up to meet the owner that's where we meet 𝐉𝐚𝐜𝐞.
𝐉𝐚𝐜𝐞 is the opposite of Desi. He likes things a certain way and loves to be in control (cue the drool) and he suffers from panic attacks (which I absolutely loved the mental health rep in this book) The relationship between Desi and Jace is fire and the tension is top tier. The spicy scenes were perfection and had my giggling and blushing.
𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐲 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 by these amazing authors and I can't wait to read their other books. This was seriously a wild ride and I loved every delicious moment.
I really liked this book. It was funny at times. Spice was spicing. I can't wait to see what else these authors come out with. Definitely recommend if you want a quick, fun read.
