**FULL REVIEW**

I'll start by saying this: WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG TO READ THIS?!?!

If you're looking for a book with a slow burn arc, a little bit of naughty, good friendships, and (view spoiler), then this is one you don't want to miss.

Call it love at first sight, an instant connection, or just an excuse...David and Olivia are magic.

"I felt, inside, like the building hollowed out and gutted. I had begun to crumble under David's command, and I couldn't help but feel like one of his projects. Was the destruction of my very being intentional?"

Come Undone is a perfect title to a perfect storyline of a woman who has been wound so tight for so long, when she finally decides to let go...it's complete chaos. I can only hope the story continues like this in the next book...which I've already started.

**4.5 Mind or Body, Stars**

Where do I even start when it comes to The Cityscape Series by Jessica Hawkins? I accidently stumbled across this amazing series shortly after Come Alive was released and became very much obsessed with the story. Jessica Hawkins officially had a new stalker on Twitter, and believe me when I tell you that I let her know how badly I needed Come Together so I could finish Olivia and David’s story. Now, I’ll be honest – about halfway through the first book, Come Undone, I had some reservations about this story and where it would take me. As a happily married woman I had an awful time having acceptance of the development of Olivia and David’s relationship at first. Because when she meets David, she believes she is happily married to Bill. And Bill is a good guy for all intents and purposes. And quite honestly, I think that’s what gave me the hardest time, the fact that Bill is a decent guy. He wasn’t some insanely protective or ridiculously romantic guy, but he was a good guy at the core. Now don’t get me wrong, there was plenty of things he could have done to be a better husband to Olivia. But there was also plenty Olivia could have done to be a better wife to Bill.By the time I got into the second, Come Alive, I had started rooting hardcore for Olivia and David to ‘come together’ (pun intended). By this point we’ve learned that there’s nothing wrong with Bill per-say, but it’s pretty clear that Olivia’s marriage to Bill is not healthy and either needs some serious work or just needs to end. The whole time David is fighting for Olivia in Come Alive I just wanted to smack some sense into her! She obviously didn’t want to be with Bill but she was fighting so hard to stay in her marriage for no other reason other then not wanting to disappoint everyone. At the end of Come Alive, Olivia finally chooses David in an epic scene that got me a bit misty eyed. Who doesn’t love a scene where they embrace each other in the rain?I ran into the rain after him, and with everything I had, I screamed, “It’s you!"He stopped. His shoulders tensed, but he remained frozen as the sky fell around us.My voice cut clearly through the rain when I said, “Of course it’s you. You are my home.”Ok. So now Olivia has decided she wants to be with David. Now what?Well, the beginning of Come Together already had me worried we would be taking two steps back when she is having lunch with Gretchen and Lucy to tell them her decision to leave Bill for David and Lucy starts making her have second thoughts.I was happy that she didn’t act on her second thoughts about leaving Bill for David, because there was enough of her second-guessing herself in Come Alive. However, Come Together focuses a lot on Olivia overcoming her fears that lead her to having a somewhat “empty” marriage with Bill and learning to have trust in David and her relationship with him.It doesn’t help her fears when she comes to terms that she will have to sacrifice a lot, including friendships and relationships with relatives, in order to pursue her relationship with David. She has to put a lot of faith into David and their relationship and let go of her insecurities she developed from her childhood.David was very swoon-worthy in Come Together. He had fought so hard to convince Olivia that he was worth the risk of ending her marriage with Bill. Now he had to also help her really let him in so he could be there for her in a way no one else ever really had, because she always had her guard up with everyone, including Bill. The way he wanted to take care of her and be everything to her just made me melt. When he finally breaks her down, it’s kind of a magically moment.“Let go, please. I’m here, begging you to let me in. Let me love you the way you deserve. I know you’re afraid, but I’m not going anywhere. Ever.”The story certainly made me step back and pause to think about how I looked at things. As I said, I’m a happily married woman and reading about another woman cheating on her husband and considering leaving him for another man kind of puts a bad taste in my mouth. But the way Jessica Hawkins told Olivia’s story certainly made me understand that not everything is black and white and every situation is different.
