"The Prince of Never" by Lorelei Johnson and Hailey Jade delves into the life of Prince Tarian, burdened by his cruel, doom-foretelling mother, and Imogen, a librarian with the ability to see imaginary creatures while guarding her sanity.
The story immediately captivates with its fast-paced narrative, leaving me eager to continue reading. The introduction of diverse creatures into Imogen's world added a layer of enchantment that resonated with me. It was gratifying to witness Imogen's experiences become real.
While some miscommunication between Tarian and Imogen left room for improvement, it made me reflect on how real-life miscommunications can occur in our own relationships. Reading the story from their perspectives, I empathized with their struggles.
As the story unfolded, I found myself completely immersed, thoroughly enjoying the narrative.
Thank you to Lorelei Johnson, Hailey Jade, and Netgallery for the opportunity to read this book early. Without a doubt, I would recommend and personally purchase it.

"Prince of Never" by Lorelei Johnson and Hailey Jade is a book that tested my patience during its initial chapters. However, once the story fell into place, it transformed into an incredible and captivating tale that left me eagerly anticipating the next installment.
The early stages of "Prince of Never" were a challenge for me as a reader. For approximately the first 5 or 6 chapters, I found it difficult to immerse myself in the story. The narrative appeared disjointed, and the pacing felt uneven, making it hard to connect with the plot and characters. I began to question whether I would continue reading.
However, I'm glad I persevered because, as the story progressed, it started to weave its threads together, and the world of "Prince of Never" began to come alive. The intricate plot and richly developed characters started to make sense, drawing me into a world of fantasy and adventure that I had initially struggled to access.
By the time I reached the latter part of "Prince of Never," I couldn't put the book down. The intricate web of the plot, the characters' development, and the well-crafted world had me hooked. And now, I eagerly await the next installment, as the story has left me with numerous questions and a burning desire to see where it leads.
In conclusion, "Prince of Never" by Lorelei Johnson and Hailey Jade may have a slow start that tests your patience, but if you can push through those initial chapters, you'll be rewarded with a captivating and immersive fantasy world. This book has left me eagerly anticipating the next installment and excited to uncover the mysteries that lie ahead in the story.

This book was tricky for me to get into. I found Imogen, the FMC quite unlikeable throughout the story. She was described as this librarian who lived a quiet existence, but her personality didn’t really reflect that. I also have to say, that I wouldn’t have even realised she was a librarian except that people kept repeating it so I don’t know why it was such a focal point (as it wasn’t an important fact to the story).
I liked Tarian as a moody MMC, but really didn’t enjoy that there was no real plot development between the characters except that they are “fated mates” (and that explains everything). Apparently if characters are “mates” then insta-love is okay?
I saw most of the plot points coming (which is fine) so there were no real shocks or surprises. Lots of things just seemed to happen too easily. The story made me think of ACOTAR but not necessarily in a good way (for me).
There were little details in the story that were a little too on the nose for me. I think they were references to popular TikTok sound bites or other trends, but I generally don’t enjoy these because they pull me out of a story.
Thanks to NetGalley, the authors and publishers for a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

This book draws you in with the main characters. It is a slow burn. I wish there was more with the supporting characters. The author gives you small hints throughout the story. It ends with a cliffhanger and I cannot wait for book #2 in the series.

New authors for me and I was pleasantly surprised. This is a Enemies to Lovers style romance in an interesting world. While the world itself isn't heavily detailed we know that the land of the Fae and the mortal realms are side by side. There are paranormals in the human realm but they are Sir not appearing in this film. The FL is a scarred and scared young woman who was attacked in her teens and has spent copious years in mental health care due to her seeing things that are not there. She does however have a close group of friends who are her support structure. The ML is a prince of the unseelie fae and quite an A$$hole. He journeys into the mortal realm seeking a woman prophesized to destroy the unseelie throne. To put a stop to her. Instead he finds far more than he can handle. The FL is stronger than she seems at first and is not one to mince words. Needless to say they mix like fire and gasoline. While the story isn't very complicated plot-wise it is written well enough that it is an enjoyable read. It was a pretty short read for me as I finished it in a couple of hours. But it was fun and kept me going until it was done. Good romance all around worth reading it and it's sequels.

Absolutely loved!! I was completely sucked into this book and couldn’t put it down until the end. The world building was just enough, but not overly done. The characters were by far my favorite part and contradicted each other perfectly. I can’t wait to read the next book!

Solid romantasy for lovers of ACOTAR, These Hollow Vows and A Court of Honey and Ash.
Tarian will ultimately be the downfall of the Unseelie court. However, that doesn't stop him from tracking down the very woman who's prophesied to make Tarian's fate become his reality. Imogen has lived in the human world her whole life, yet never felt like she fit in. Over the years, she was terrorized by monsters no one else could see and became more and more isolated from her family. Despite not really knowing who she is, Imogen’s attraction to her captor fae prince may also be the key to revealing her past.
Thank you to the authors, Lorelei Johnson and Hailey Jade, for providing me with an eARC via NetGalley!
The premise of Prince of Never intrigued me since I'm a sucker for enemies to lovers and urban settings. One of this book's biggest strengths is its visual storytelling; there were several scenes where I felt completely immersed in the fae world. This book also has a true villain, which is not always common in morally grey romances.
While I enjoyed the book, I still felt that aspects of it didn't hit the mark for me. First, I was surprised that one of Imogen's best friends (who's briefly introduced to at the beginning of the book) is a halfling and comes to her aid in the fae realm. She doesn't really question it, and it felt a little too coincidental. Second, Tarian's prophecy wasn't very clear, so at times I found myself wondering why destroying the court and its brutal queen would be such a bad thing. Lastly, I felt that the MCs' romance could have been developed a bit more. Admittedly, I'm not the biggest fan of insta love or third act breakups, but I'm looking forward to see what awaits Imogen and her newly discovered identity in the Seelie court.
Overall, I enjoyed Prince of Never and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the Curse of Fate and Fae series. If you enjoy books with fae, fated mates, political intrigue, and forbidden love, you should definitely check this one out!

Overall, I enjoyed the story. It doesn't take long before the excitement starts. This is a dual POV perspective, switching between the MCs, Imogen, and Tarian. For the most part, they're likable characters. I did struggle a few times with both of them, mainly because I wanted to see more depth between the two. There are also plenty of side characters that keep things interesting. There are plenty of magical elements, some betrayal, and a bit of action that paced well with the plot. I'd like to learn more about the courts itself, Seelie and Unseelie. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next, especially after an abrupt ending like that. *Thank you, Netgalley, Lorelei Johnson, and Hailey Jade, for this eARC*

Such a great fantasy romance that checked all the boxes for me. I really loved this one! I can’t wait to read more.

Firstly, huge thank you to Lorelei Johnson & Hailey Jade for giving me this ARC. I LOVED it so much!!
This read is curing my ACOTAR hangover, it’s got fated mates, opposing kingdoms, secrets, Etc. And it’s written so well. The side characters are also very enjoyable (aside from the queen - hate her).
My only complaint is I don’t have book 2 and towards the end I was absolutely screaming “please communicate!!!”
I’m SO excited for the next book, I’ll be eating it up just like this one!

Thank you to netgalley for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
Prince of Never checked all the boxes I have that makes a fantasy romance work for me. Fun banter, enemies to lovers, elements of a fantasy world that makes it unique and fun (fish bowl portal magic hello??), smut that doesn’t make me cringe, beautiful settings that I can vividly see in my head, and so much more. Plus a bonus for never making me feel bored.
I had such a fun time with this book and completely devoured it in only two or three sittings - which would have only been a day if I had the free time. It was easy to jump into and the politics and world building weren’t so intricate to where you would be lost. The focus is more on the romance and the angst between Imogen and Tarian and in seeing how they will overcome their personal struggles. The stakes were pretty high and I need book two to come out immediately so I can see how they both can overcome the odds we were left with. Imogen was also hilarious and bold (sometimes too bold but you go girl) and I loved that.
The only thing I had an issue with was that the writing at times felt like it didn’t flow as smoothly as it could have. There were certain scene changes, new characters appearing in ongoing conversations, or parts of dialog that felt noticeably awkward or abrupt and took me out of the story for those moments. But there was also such beautiful writing at times so it wasn’t the biggest deal for me.
Overall this was a solid romantasy and I will definitely pick up the next book.

"Tell me you came back for me.'
'Why should I?'
'Because I couldn't take it if you said anything else.'
My breath hitched in my throat. 'What?'
'Say it. Lie if you have to."
strong ACOTAR vibes with a cuter cover ✨️
it was really good, really steamy and fast paced yet things didn't feel rushed. loved the side characters they were all interesting and relevant to the story, not just accessories. the plot itself was predictable but still enjoyable, tho the main characters going back and forth with their anger felt a bit repetitive.
I'll definetely keep an eye open for the sequel 🤞

Review of "Prince of Never" by Lorelei Johnson & Hailey Jade
Disclaimer: I received an ARC copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for providing an honest and unbiased review.
Oh, where do I even begin with "Prince of Never"? This book swept me off my feet from the very start, and I can't urge you enough to dive into its pages immediately. I leisurely savored the first half, relishing every word, and then suddenly, at the halfway point, I found myself devouring the rest, utterly captivated. One moment I glanced at the progress bar and saw 55%, and the next thing I knew, I was at 95%, desperately craving answers that I knew wouldn't come in the remaining pages. The agony of waiting for the next installment is real!
Imogen and Tarian's story is nothing short of extraordinary. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone who loves a blend of Fae allure, heart-pounding romance, and tantalizing mystery. Ah, the mystery! That reveal towards the end left me with a whirlwind of questions, especially pondering the potential conversation between one human girl and the revelations she could bring about Imogen's history.
Please, do yourself a favor and read this book! If you're a fan of ACOTAR, if you've been enchanted by The Ever King, if Kingdom of the Wicked has ever thrilled you, then this is your next must-read. Join me in the anticipation, eagerly awaiting the continuation of Imogen's mesmerizing journey.

Enemies to lovers ♥️
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book!
I really liked how this book jumped right in and started. It pulled you in immediately and you want to know what happens with Imogen and Tarian.
There were a few spelling mistakes / wrong words in sentences that threw me off a bit.
I found the ending of the book was at a great spot - leaving the reader wanting to dive into the next book of the series! I’m looking forward to seeing more of a character arc with Tarian in the next book.

I enjoyed this book way more than I thought I would! I am typically not one for darker romances, and while this one might not be considered “dark romance” by those who read the genre a lot, the main conflict that he kidnaps her and holds her hostage (and then they fall in love shortly after) makes me think it leans at least a little in that direction. I honestly think without the kidnapping plot point, the book would not be terribly different, and it would almost fall into a high fantasy with cozy elements.
Imogen as a character was so fun to read! I love that she feels like she can hold her own in the world of the Fae (even if she eventually learns that there is a lot of things she doesn’t know and might actually need help). Tarian starts as a somewhat typical broody MMC, but I came to really like him about 50/60% through. I think a second book with more communication between these two, could make the story that much deeper.
I liked the side characters, and the small plot twist with Ethan. I will be interested to see how/if he plays a role in future books.
I can see several potential directions this series could go, all interesting for a reader. I look forward to sequel(s)!

This was such an entertaining read.
From the first few words of the first chapter to the very last, this book had my full attention.
The dialogue in this book was one of my favorite things about it. There was tons of fun, witty, snarky, sometimes flirty banter that it really made the story fun to read.
That slow burn though killeddd me. I was on the edge of my seat every time Imogen and Tarian shared a moment together. When we finally learned who Imogen truly was I was so stunned I couldn't speak. The authors did a great job at leaving us small hits here and there throughout the story but never fully giving it away until the perfect time.
I love the creativity of types of powers used in this story and the idea behind the fated names and their dangers. It added an even more complicating elements to the storyline that I really enjoyed.
The entire last 2 chapters I was SCREAMING and I just simply cannot wait for the second book!

This was a miss for me. I struggled with the writing style. It was trying to be current and formal all at once -- could be the effect of urban fantasy but it threw me off too much. The characters' behavior didn't fully make sense to me. Every twists or discovery was too predictable and I had already seen every single one coming for a long time. It could be on me not liking the 'kidnapped by my mate' trope but didn't enjoy this story too much.

4.5 stars. Omg… the way this book sucked me in. I devoured it. The characters, the story, the imagery. I loved it all! I cannot wait for the next book! Thank you NetGalley for this amazing ARC!

this book definitely had potential. it was dual-pov, which definitely made it more interesting, and the start was quite captivating - plus the fae world may not have been unique, but it's always a fun read. and both characters definitely had intriguing personalities and backstories in the first section of the novel. but once the romance started... it only went downhill, in my opinion.
i simply couldn't stand how the two mc's fell in love without EVER having an actual conversation. they had some great sexual tension, and i always love the fated mates trope, but i needed the two main characters to actually communicate and get to know one another! plus, they just made some really dumb mistakes, and the miscommunication truly killed me.
this one wasn't for me, but nonetheless, i thank the authors, publisher and netgalley for the arc copy provided.

I had such a good time with this book. It is fast paced and full of action. I was constantly eager to see what was going to happen to the main characters.
This books follows Imogen a university librarian with a somewhat normal life, she has always been told she was crazy after seeing things that other people didn't seem to catch. On the other hand we have Tarian, the heir to the throne of the Unseelie court. He has always lived under the weight of his prophecy, which says a woman will be the one who destroys his court. Nevertheless his plans derail the moment he meets Imogen, an now he doesn't know what to do about it.
Both the main characters are relatable, I really liked how the authors allowed both characters to be powerful. Specifically I loved Imogen, I didn't expect the plot twist involving her, and I really want to know what is going to happen to her in the next instalment in the series. I also feel Tarian will need to change his behaviour and learn how to control his anger. I have to say that I adored Ethan, I hope we can see more of him in the next book.
The thing I liked the most was the writing, it was easy to follow and matched the characters struggles at the moment.
Thank you so much NetGalley, Lorelei Johnson and Hailey Jade for providing the ARC ebook for this book in exchange for an honest review.
