This is a romantasy with so many of my fave tropes- enemies to lovers, fated mates,. slow burn and the banter was to die for. Also helps that the FMC was a librarian (samesies) and the MMC is a grumpy/morally grey fae- COUNT ME IN.

I don't think I will ever tire of fae books but most of them nowadays just read the same.
This one did not. I was hooked from the very beginning. I canNOT wait for the sequel to this.

*Thank you so much to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the chance to review an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.*

2.5 stars rounding up.

Tarian has one problem when it comes to getting his crown, and it is one human woman. That shouldn't be hard for him, except it turns out this woman might have more power over him then he originally expected.

The plot and storyline of this book were so interesting. I was immediately grabbed but found the story to be a little slow for me. While this one wasn't my favorite, I will be coming back for more of the series. I want to see what the author does with these characters.

First I’d like to thank Lorelei Johnson and Hailey Jade and NetGalley for this ARC edition ebook.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3.75 STARS

I become feral for enemy to lovers and fated mates. The story starts following a librarian by the name of Imogen who was attacked by a vampire? Or was she? She sees thing that the normal mortal cannot. In comes our MMC by the name of Tarian, the Prince of the Unseelie Court. A striking Fae Male. He has sent people to kill Imogen but when the mission fails he takes action into his own hands. He meets Imogen and something happens to him. Fated. Mate. 🫶🏼

The author did a good job with character building, easy to understand world building (enough for my short attention span to keep track of), and bringing in this world’s politics. I was fully enveloped in the story.
Imogen has an open mind to different folklore and eases herself into the new world pretty easily despite wanting to go home. She is headstrong, kind (to those kind to her), and funny. A very likable main character.
Tarian is the typical morally grey fae prince. He wants to like the girl but hates that he wants to like her and he doesn’t understand why.

This was an easy read and kept me entertained. There were a few grammatical errors I noticed throughout but nothing that was too distracting.

All in all, It was very enjoyable. I would recommend!

Prince Of Never (Curse Of Fate And Fae)

WOW -This book was brilliant. If you enjoy a a Romantic Fantasy book with an enemies to lovers trope then this one is for you.

Thank you to both authors and NetGalley for the Arc and for giving me the chance to read and give my honest review.

The book Follows are FMC Imogen who has been called crazy since a young age, she claimed to anyone that would listen that she was attacked by otherworldly creatures. Now an adult and working as a librarian she reads about fantasy worlds in her fictional books but after being told for so long that she was crazy her worst fears are confirmed when she is kidnapped by our MMC the Unseelie heir, Prince Tarian. Immy is witty, empathetic and despite all that she has been through is incredibly brave. And the fact that she can wind the Prince up to know end is hilarious.

Tarian who has grown to adulthood being told he is cursed and whose destiny is foretold to bring down the Unseelie Court.
I wanted to kick Tarian soo many times for just being a giant alphahole. He could be so frustrating at times and then be soft and hugely protective of Immy. After hearing what he has gone through you can understand why he is the way he is.

This is a slow burn enemies to lovers bingable book but with so much tension it will have you on the edge of your seat. It was written well and made you want to keep reading. Can not wait for the next book.

Imogen Summers has always struggled with seeing things no one else does. So when a broody Fae prince kidnaps her, she wonders if she's finally gone mad.
Tarian has been ruled by expectation his whole life; expectations set mainly by his mother to be the perfect heir to the Unseelie Crown. But also by the prophecy that predicts the downfall of his Court. A prophecy that names Imogen as the woman who is destined to destroy the Unseelie.

I devour any book with fated mates, so it's no surprise I enjoyed this book. The politics aspect is also something I haven't seen too much of, which I liked a lot. However, there isn't anything ground breaking about this. Most of the plot points were easily predictable, and occasionally it seems like pieces of the story were left out- Tarian refuses to tell Imogen his name, but then suddenly in her POV she's calling him by his name?.. However, this was a good quick read that got me past a bit of a reading slump!
I received an ARC (thank you NetGalley, Lorelei Johnson, and Hailey Jade!) but unfortunately didn't get to read it until after it was officially released, so I'm sure the rough edges were smoothed. But I'm looking forward to reading the next book!

This book had me on the edge of my seat chapter after chapter. I love the elements of the fae within this book, plus fate mates, political intrigue, and star-crossed lovers tropes are so good and used wonderfully within this story. I never wanted this book to end, and I'm looking forward to seeing where the story continues.

Thank you NetGalley for an arc of this book.

In a world where a fae prince's destiny hangs in the balance, a surprising twist unfolds. Tarian, the prince, faces an unexpected obstacle on his path to the throne: a human librarian named Imogen. Contrary to his expectations of a formidable adversary, Imogen is a woman with a penchant for recklessness and a serious lack of self-preservation instincts. She becomes the very dilemma that stands between him and his crown.

Imogen has always fought for control, both over herself and her life, especially when the world questions her sanity. But when Tarian, a fae prince, whisks her away to another realm, she's forced to confront her deepest fears. The line between reality and madness blurs as she navigates this unfamiliar world.

First off, there is a substantial amount of profanity in this book! It's a surprising choice given the protagonist, Tarian, is a prince and the heir to the throne. Unfortunately, Tarian doesn't come across as the powerful and regal figure one might expect. Instead, he often appears as a temperamental individual who struggles to control his emotions when things don't go his way. This portrayal doesn't make him a compelling or particularly attractive character. Despite the fear surrounding Tarian in the story, it's hard to discern any significant reason for this intimidation factor. He lacks the strong and charismatic presence expected of a future ruler. Imogen, the other protagonist, seems to consistently engage in a series of questionable decisions throughout the narrative. While the author may have aimed to depict her as a character who defies societal norms, her actions come across as impulsive and, at times, foolish

I enjoyed this book! I liked the characters and the world-building. The plot was fun and I always wanted to know what was going to happen next. The thing I didn’t like was that there was a really good slow burn happening between Imogen and Tarian, and as soon as they got together, they were automatically in love. I did like how the book ended though, and I will definitely read the next book in the series. I would recommend this book!

I'm so sorry but I DNF this book. I'm positive this book will be loved by many people, unfortunately it just wasn't for me.

This book had me hooked in the first two chapters. I loved everything about it - the premise, the characters, the banter and the world that the authors created.

I quickly fell head over heels for Tarian and getting to see him go from despising Imogen to quickly falling in love with her was beautiful. My heart broke for him at the end.

Imogen was so headstrong and witty. She’s definitely the kind of friend you’d want to have in your corner. I can’t wait to see what the next book will bring for her and Tarian both!

I love almost every book with fae in it, but this one stood out.
With the Romeo and Juliet trope that surprised me at the end, it wasn't like the other books I read.
I am looking forward to read the sequel, because the ending made me want more.
Lorelei and Haley's writing made sure I wanted to keep reading

For fans of "The Cruel Prince" and "Gild", this would be a great recommendation.

I didn’t what to expect with this book, but I was not disappointed. This book was a great read and I look forward to reading the next one.

This is a great fae-based fantasy for people who are new to fae-based fantasies. The court dynamics are easy to understand and most of the terms are defined (ex. “changeling”). It gave me Cruel Prince by Holly Black vibes. The way the fae worlds behave are very similar. But, I felt like this book read quicker and was easier to understand.

My biggest issue with this book is the formatting— though I’m aware this may have changed with the published version. There aren’t quotations around where they are speaking, they only use apostrophes (ex. “She is mine”. vs ‘She is mine’.). I just found it hard to follow along with the dialogue because of that.

It was also predictable at some points. But overall, I really enjoyed it.

I was very entertained. the world building and writing was simple and I really like that. It's nothing overtly unique, it's ideas a mix of contemporary romance and fantasy but it was good and I don't have many complaints.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing the ARC.

I wasn't really sure what I was getting with this book, but I'm glad that I picked it up. I had a fun time reading about Imogen as she navigates being kidnapped by the Crown Prince of the Unseelie Court.

I thought the story was interesting, but I wish it had been just a bit more in a lot of ways. I thought the characterizations were a bit rough and needed some polishing and that there was not a good balance between fluff and plot. But I did overall enjoy the story.

I know this is the first in a series, but I'll definitely be back for the next one.

This was an enchanting start to the Curse of Fate and Fae series that deserves its 4-star rating. This fantasy romance weaves a captivating tale of destiny, love, and the complexities of power.

The story introduces us to Tarian, a fae prince whose path to the throne is obstructed by a prophecy foretelling his downfall at the hands of a human librarian, Imogen. What makes this story intriguing is that Imogen, the supposed threat to Tarian's crown, is not the formidable enemy that he expected. Instead, she's a character with layers -- reckless yet compelling, with an inner strength that defies her outward vulnerability.

Imogen's struggle for control and self-preservation in a world that questions her sanity adds depth to her character. The authors deftly explore the theme of self-discovery as Imogen is thrust into a new realm, facing her deepest fears and uncertainties.

The connection between Tarian and Imogen is at the heart of the story, and the development of their relationship is skillfully done. The strange bond that draws them together amidst lurking dangers keeps the reader engaged and invested in their journey. The tension and chemistry between the characters are palpable, adding a layer of intrigue to their blossoming romance.

The world-building is rich and immersive, with elements of political intrigue and fae lor that add depth to the narrative. The book excels at drawing readers into a fantastical realm where magic and destiny collide.

This was a seductive and enthralling fantasy romance that sets the stage for an exciting series. If you're a fan of fated mates, star-crossed love, and complex characters, this book is sure to captivate your imagination.

In all fairness, I didn't finish reading this book. I got to about 45%.

It just wasn't for me. Underwhelming world building and honestly, the world that is shown isn't that appealing. Like, at all. Maybe I'm just not into Fae books. Too much emphasis on physical attraction blah blah blah. I didn't hit any actual explicit scenes yet but I seriously doubt this book will shy away from it. If you want to read about a grumpy male MC and a female MC that's (literally) dragged through the story, maybe you'll like it?

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It's well written, easy to follow and I really enjoyed the enemies to lovers, the relationship between Imogen and Tarian is addicting - it's so fun to read!
I also love that the POVS switch between characters, you get a lot more insight into what they are thinking which is awesome.
This is one of my top reads from this year and I wasn't expecting so much from this book! I'll definitely be buying a physical copy so I can tab and make notes, how exciting!

I read this while recovering from COVID and it was the perfect pick-me-up, easy to read romantasy book. I really appreciated the ease and entertainment of this book. As a newbie to the fantasy genre, there have been a number of books that I read where the world building and characters can, at times, seem overwhelming.

The Prince of Never was an entertaining and easy read that was digestible and binge able with some of my favorite tropes including:

- Enemies to Lovers
- Grumpy/Sunshine
- Fated Mates
- Forced Proximity
- Misunderstandings

What I liked (besides the tropes listed above!):
- Great side characters! Haddock and Agnes are the CUTEST and brought some extra comedic relief. Briyala is awesome and I want to be friends with her.
- Really loved how simple and easy to understand the world building was. Great for newbies looking to read more fantasy!
- Dual POV- really helped to place the mindset of the characters and move the story forward.
- This book launches into action from the very first chapter. Not a lot waiting around which is nice.
- Liked the questioning of sanity and Imogen’s mental health at the beginning of the book - it set me up to question what was happening and what wasn’t.

What I liked Less:
- There are still questions unanswered- who bit her neck? What’s happening with Ethan? Hoping that these get answered in book 2!
- The second book isn’t coming out until August 2024 so we have a while until we get to see what happens to these characters.

Overall, this book was like eating potato chips- addicting and you didnt have to think too much or work to hard in order to get swept up into the story. The characters were likable and I am very excited to see what comes in the next book!

Thank you to NetGalley, the authors, and the publishers for the opportunity to review.

Prince of Never is the first book in a refreshing new romantasy series.

Imogen is a librarian who has a past she can't quite understand, she sees otherworldly creatures and no one takes her seriously. She starts to believe she may be crazy until Tarian, a morally grey fae prince captures her for being at the center of a prophecy that will be his downfall. Imogen is now thrust into a new realm where she is the cursed mate to an Unseelie Prince.

I'm already ready to continue on to the next book in this series to see how everything connects, the worldbuilding was done well, and I really loved all the politics of the fae realm. I was on the edge of my seat, trying to figure out the prophecy, who could be trusted, and who was scheming in the background. I enjoyed Imogen's character growth, she learned to stand her ground for the most part and while Tarian was made out to be disliked, he had some redeeming moments that I hope we see more of.

I'm hoping for a bit more romance between Tarian and Imogen in the next installment, even though it was more of a slow burn I felt the chemistry was lacking. I really struggled with the constant miscommunication between them. I know this had all the juicy tropes, enemies-to-loves, fated mates, and forced proximity but Imogen's stubbornness and constant back-and-forth coupled with the emotional whiplash Tarian was giving took away from their budding love story. They have the potential to be explosive so hopefully, we can see some character development in the next one, I'd like to see the progression of them trusting one another.

That cliffhanger! How am I supposed to wait til next Summer? Highly recommend picking up this unique take on fated mates loaded with all the tropes,

Thank you Lorelei Johnson, Hailey Jade and Netgalley for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

The miscommunication in this book is next level, if these two just calmed their tempers and their egos for five minutes so many of the problems in this book could have been avoided. That being said, immaculate tension, the spicey scenes were great, and the story line was intriguing once it got further in!
