If you're like me and want to get sucked into every single fantasy romance world, you'll understand my excitement when I saw Prince of Never. I enjoyed reading this book, it was a fun and quick read that never got too dull. The story between Imogen and Tarian flowed well and seeing their dynamic on the page was really entertaining. I always enjoy tension between the main characters and of course a slow-burn. I do wish we got to see and understand the world around them more and give depth to the ongoing story between the two main characters. I do have hope for the series and cannot wait to see what happens after the events of this first book.
Thank you to NetGalley and Lorelai Johnson and Hailey Jade for the advanced reader's copy!

Thanks to the authors and NetGalley for the arc. Prince of Never had an interesting premise and could’ve had a lot more potential — I do like the idea of people fighting against the fated mates situation, but unfortunately that’s not really what happened. This was very insta-lovey and really based solely on the idea of mates, and not really any real connection. However, I do feel like book two might be more interesting and maybe will explain more of what’s happening and maybe why the authors didn’t give the characters too much connection or back story.

Thank you NetGalley for the arc!
I really enjoyed this book. You are immediately thrown into the story and want to know what is happening. Dual POV and fated lovers. I saw the twists coming but still appreciated them when they happened. I am excited and interested to see what happens in the next book!

I enjoyed Prince of Never. It was an entertaining/quick read that never got boring or made me want to quit. It was written well and I felt that the story flowed the way it should. I liked the dynamic between the two main protagonists, Imogen and Tarian. Lots of tension and fun slow-burn, which I always enjoy no matter what. However, the reason I didn't rate it any higher is because there was a very obvious lack of world-building. We don't know hardly anything about this particular Fae world or hardly any lore relating to it. Because of that, the plot didn't feel very deep. I love a good romance, but I also love world-building. There were some moments where lore was introduced, but it mostly related to the characters only. As this series goes on, I would like to see more of a plot that doesn't rely only on romance. I would like to see maybe political tension and more world-building. Overall, this was an easy, solid read.

thank you to netgalley for the advanced reading copy. I really enjoyed this and will be getting copies for my shop.

I think this book would be great for Romantasy lovers who are more focused on the fantasy than the romance. The romance, between a human woman and fae prince, had many tropes I typically enjoy fated mates and enemies to lovers, but the romance just did not hit for me. I think this might be because it was a captive romance (where one character is being held captive), and it felt repetitive at times.

While it is a romantasy, the romance was subpar: there was no real tension between the romantic characters. The characters are flat and forgettable.

I found the beginning of the book repetitive. The same situation keeps occurring with almost the same consequence. The reptitiveness turned me off and it took me much longer to read than I would have liked. It was very predictable and the characters were annoying however, I did like Solas, he was dark and mysterious and the only character I want to know more about. I did like the ending and the segue into a second book but I won’t be reading that one.

If you enjoy romantic fantasy with enemies to lovers, fated mates, a steamy cramped storage room moment, and witty banter between a sassy human librarian and morally grey fae prince then this book is for you! Imogen is a librarian who has grown up being told she is crazy for claiming to have been attacked by other-worldly creatures. Her fears are confirmed when she is kidnapped by Tarian, the Unseelie Prince, and taken to another realm. Tarian has grown up with a cruel mother as Queen and told he is cursed to have a mate who will bring down his court.I loved this book! The authors did a great job of making me strongly dislike Tarian before he began to redeem himself (although he still has a way to go). I loved Imogen’s journey of self-discovery and character development. She learns how to stand her ground, and is not afraid to share exactly what’s on her mind. The tension and spice between the two was so good. A quick read, but one I could not put down and demolished in 24 hours. With an ending that has left me excited for the next in the series. Just wish it was longer.

This was pure enjoyment to read and the story was what I was hoping for. Definitely will read more from this author

The concept of destined mates grappling with an unyielding bond, coupled with brooding male characters, spirited heroines, and a dash of fae magic, had me captivated. However, as the narrative unfolded, the allure began to wane, and the book struggled to maintain its grip on my attention.
Imogen's shift from a timid and withdrawn character in the mortal realm to a powerful presence in the faerie realm struck me as sudden and somewhat difficult to believe. That and the expected plot "twist" make me give it four stars. That said, I still enjoyed the book a lot and will be reading the second instalment.

This book was even better then I thought it would be, with one of my favourite tropes enemies to lovers. The characters were all so unique with awesome personalities. Love their connection and I'm sad it's ages until the next book comes out ☹️

This was more of a quick read! Your typical romantic tropes and I felt it was more predictable! It was enjoyable and thank you NetGalley for the read!

While it is a romantasy, the romance was subpar: there was no real tension between the romantic characters. The characters are flat and forgettable.

THIS BOOK!!! I am immediately making grabby hands for the next book!! Cause I need answers! Fated mates who lead to their downfall?! I was hooked from the very beginning. The tension. The angst. The inevitable realization. It was all so freaking good. There were a few things I wish got explained better and I'm hoping they do in the next book but it did not take away from the story for me. I cannot wait to learn with Imogen about the s
Seelie fae and get to say Tarain grovel. My heart was devastated when she so freely offered something that was supposed to be treasured and Tarain not stopping her and being honest. So much I hope gets resolved in the next book but I am blown away with hos good this one was!

A fun unique fantasy read. Would recommend. It definitely follows the popular tropes in romantasy right now, but it is a fun time.

3.5 stars
Overall this book was a quick, fun read, but I’m not sure if I’d take the time to read the sequel. It was by no means bad, but there wasn’t really anything new or exciting. It felt a little bit like a bunch of stereotypical romantasy pieces were just thrown together without any real depth. If you’re looking for something with a little bit of spice that hits on a lot of the typical Romantasy tropes (enemy’s to lovers, fated mates, etc) and if you don’t mind a lack of world building, this could be for you.

The first book of this series and I am already hooked. PON is an easy fantasy-romance read with a solid world building to follow. I ended up reading this all in one go. The story is a different approach to Enemies'-to-lovers and the Unseelie. Imogen's character growth and Tarian's as well is engaging and entertaining!

This book was just a bit of a rough read. It had an overall good concept and had some tropes that I do enjoy such as enemies to lovers and fated mates but it just never hit any targets for me. This book is supposed to be a high fantasy romance book, but I don't think I could call the romance... romance. I felt like they were just running from each other the whole time, and never actually conversed. Sure there was tension and stuff but what does that matter when the characters have barely held an actual conversation?
Also, this book is giving the first series of the Shadow Hunters, which some may like but I did not. It just reminded me of a bunch of the 2010 fantasy books that never sat right with me. Especially with the whole captive romance, it takes a lot for it to be done right where I am happy with it and this book sadly did not achieve that.
Overall good concept, iffy execution.

For the first 50% of this book, I was totally hooked. I loved the idea of fated mates trying to resist the bond, plus add in some broody males, snappy heroines and a dose of fae magic and I'm hooked. But ultimately, Prince of Never was never able to successfully reel me in. I got lost in too many plot holes. So Imogen is super timid and quiet in the mortal realm, but transport her to faerie and she's suddenly a wasp-ish badass? Also, why did he make her a servant? Tarian's got literally no redeeming qualities so the only reason she falls for him is the bond? I wish there had been more reasons for her to fall for him apart from chemicals. I think this gives the wrong idea about love. There has to be more to it than just chemistry; compatibility matters too. And he just seemed to hate her and vice versa. I also felt the background characters were not filled out enough and the "twist" was weak.
Still, this makes it sound like I totally hated it but honestly I didn't. Prince of Never is like one of those vanilla cookies with vanilla frosting and multi colored sprinkles you find at most chain grocery stores; they are full of empty calories but they are a total treat and I'll eat them with gusto and only feel a tiny bit ashamed afterwards. Seriously though, I enjoyed Prince of Never, even though it's got some problems and I'll definitely be looking for the sequel!
