The beginning of this book had me hooked! It felt kind of slow in the middle but definitely made up for it in the end. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a Christmas thriller!

After choir practice for midnight mass, college sophomore Rose Grandon takes a shortcut through Harbour Park. Grabbed from behind, she is violently assaulted, beaten and left for dead. The last thing she hears is a tenor voice singing Silent Night. Several hours later, the police find Rosie lying in a ditch. Badly beaten - but alive. As she recovers in hospital, Rose is told she's pregnant. She has a terrible choice to make. She decides to keep the baby. But her evil attacker has never been caught. He strikes twice a year. Once on Christmas Eve, once on Christmas day. And until he's behind bars, rose and her baby can never be safe. But now he's found out he has a daughter. And that changes everything.

A serial/killer rapist who only attacks women on Christmas Eve and Christmas day. But he makes a mistake with Rose, she was still alive when he left her.

The characters are a well-developed mixed bunch of likeable and creepy. This is one twisted, suspense filled and thrilling mystery that has been descriptively written. This is a gripping story about a brutal crime, and it shows the effects the crime can leave with the victim. It's not a book for the faint-hearted, as there are some gruesome scenes. My first read by the author, but it won't be my last.

I would like to thank #NetGalley #JoffeBooks and the author McGarveyBlack for my ARC of #TwiceOnChristmas in exchange for an honest review.

Although I guessed the killer early on, I did enjoy this book. Great cover and title too. Thank you for my free copy.

I enjoyed this book but there was a lot of characters that felt like they were just thrown in to cause confusion.

I really couldn’t get past the first few chapters because it seemed too implausible. I know it’s fiction, but it just went too fast for what was going on

What a cool Christmas thriller! This is my first round with this author and I’ll definitely be looking for more. It dives right into the action and I really enjoyed how the years stretched out with no resolution for so long. Every time a new character was introduced I was convinced IT’S HIM😆
I hated the way it turned out for poor Rose, but such is life in the thriller genre. Maybe she’ll get lucky and her kid won’t turn out to be a bad seed.

Thanks so much to McGarvey Black, Joffe Books and NetGalley for the advance copy!

I love this author and their psychological thrillers are some of the best I have read. I devoured this book in one sitting and finally turned the last page at 1am, yes this book is that good. I had my list of suspects and I still got it wrong. This book had me sat on the edge of my seat and constantly holding my breath. A nail biting chill ride and highly recommended.

Wow….just Wow. This was a couple of hours read and made me skip breakfast, lunch and dinner…I had to finish the book. As a fanatic murder mystery reader, I figured out who the killer was pretty fast, but had my doubts at moments, so needed to know for sure. This is a book that when you finish it…you close the book and have to sit for an hour just to think about it. This was a truly gripping story about Rose whose life changed forever after making a decision that will hunt her forever. Now, this book isn't for the faint-hearted as were some disturbing and gruesome parts in this story. The horrors of the serial killings combined with the trauma of the surviving victim (Rose) and the aftermath were so well written, that it doesn't let you go. You are dragged into the story immediately. I loved the character-building, the writer did an excellent job making you love Rose and develop a deep hate for a disturbing mind. Another brilliant psychological thriller and definitely one you want to read!!

My first book by McGarvey Black - and it did not disappoint. I adore Christmas books (normally of the romance kind!) so this was a thriller right up my alley.

So many good bits to list off - the Christmas theme, the tension of the killer only striking once a year, the journey through the years (I really liked that the crime wasn't done, dusted and solved in a couple of weeks), the small twists, the perspective of the victim rather than the people solving the crime, and the character development as Rose moved through her life. I enjoyed the ending, and felt everything was well wrapped up (although I did have some questions around how the killer managed to get to other cities and back so quickly?!).

A solid 5 stars from me and I will be returning for more McGarvey Black, thank you NetGalley and Joffe Books for the introduction.

Rose Grandon was a victim of the Kringle Killer, she lived but as a result of her attack, has a daughter she calls Mary. This story follows Rose & Mary’s life, as well as the police and FBI hunt for the killer. It’s an interesting premise, with the investigation taking literally years, Although it was fairly obvious who the killer was as the book went on, there were also a couple of other contenders. It was nicely written and a decent story, just not the book for me.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Twice on Christmas is rather dark although the mystery was enough to pull me in and not put it down.

Rose is raped and beaten badly at Christmas. She is saved and then discovers she is with child.

Years later Rose and her daughter Mary have created a nice, loving life together. Until her rapist the Kringle Killer, discovers she had Mary. He always strikes twice - on Christmas Eve and Christmas. Now they are afraid of him. How can they stay safe?

Lots of twists and turns. Worth reading. Especially if one grows tired of all the sentimental holiday stories.

"Twice On Christmas," tells a captivating story of a young girl named Rose, who becomes the target of a notorious serial killer, the Kringle Killer. The author does an amazing job of bringing Rose's trauma and horror to life, and you can really feel the impact it has on her life.

The plot is full of twists and turns that keep you engaged from start to finish, and the attention to detail is impressive. You really get to know the characters and feel like you're a part of the story.

Overall, it's a gripping novel that explores the psyche of a victim of a brutal crime, and it's definitely a book that will stick with you long after you've turned the final page. A must-read!

I am not sure where to even start. This book was wow. I had my suspicions throughout the book and at first I was wrong but then I was right. What an elaborate plot. The characters all came together on this thriller. It happens twice on Christmas and Rose was a victim who lived.

Thank you, NetGalley and Joffe Books for the copy of Twice On Christmas by McGarvey Black. Wow what a compelling book! The story drew me in right away and I liked how it took place over a long time period. The only things I didn’t like is how obvious it was who the killer was so early on or the final reveal. But, it was really well-written and kept me reading until the end. If you’re looking for a fast and interesting read, this is perfect for you.

Wow! What an interesting story, I was stunned when the pieces came together and it all fell into place.

Rose was the victim of the Kringle Killer, changing her life in ways she will never understand.
Walking home from choir practice on Christmas Eve, Rose takes a shortcut, one that changes her life forever.
As Rose insists on being updated each year on any attacks, her memories resurface, but she continues to power through and focuses on her daughter Mary, who is the result of her mother's brutal attack.
The story progresses with the concerns Rose has about Mary, her personal life, and a potential love interest.
Things go wrong and Rose soon finds herself hearing the words she will never forget, coming out of the mouth of the man who changed her world forever.

I loved this book and happily recommend it to other readers who enjoy a well written psychological mystery.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of the book.
