A huge thank you to the author, Netgalley, and Orbit Books for providing this e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

As the third book in this series, it had a lot riding on its shoulders. And as a whole, it did its job perfectly. The romance build-up felt natural, and Dante was an easy love interest to root for (most of the time). Cherry was a fun FMC and I enjoyed spending the majority of the novel in her head, especially as I felt a great deal of the time she reacted the most appropriately to the situation(s) at hand. She leveled out Dante’s….Danteness… well, and once they started being on the same page with everything I thought their romance was cute and well-done. And it was fun to watch Dante learn how humans do things, as he was somehow even less prepared for a human wife than Fallon.

I felt this one was written slightly better than the second, but I enjoyed the plot to the first one more than this one. However, overall this was an enjoyable contribution to this series and I had fun reading it - which is all I really ask for, really.

I had some complaints, and I’ll list them here, but they don’t overall take away from the enjoyment of the story nor do I think they should deter anyone from reading. If you liked the first two books in this series, you'll like this one just as much. It's fun, it's cute, it's sexy - and we get to vicariously live through Cherry of having a rich dragon husband to basically sugardaddy her. So, really, what else could we want?

Also. I know everyone keeps saying this is the last book. But. BUT. Ma’am. You can’t mention Ambrose and then add ANOTHER LAMIA here, and not expect me to keep asking for a lamia romance. Dragons and werewolves are cool and all. But please. PLEASE. Give me a snake man. (You even mentioned that they have 2 dicks!! C’mon, please, stop holding out on us!)

Okay. Spoilers ahead. Reader beware, and all that.

1. HE JUST BITES HER????? I gotta be honest, that was the biggest issue with this “kidnap and slowly fall in love” romance, here. I honestly think it would have been better if he didn’t bite her at the first opportunity, because I spent the entire novel not knowing if Cherry actually liked him at all, or if she was just aroused. I thought it could have worked without the instant sexual attraction fed by the bite, and just have her attracted to him, anyway (like with Cin and Brie). And then, no one else had the “YIKES, MAN” response to him biting her without consent that I did. Like, Felix was already on thin ice but at least by the time HE did, Brie already said she’d be okay with it and he was a little insane on the love potion - even before Dante gets drugged he’s already thinking of just finding a woman and biting her first (despite the other demons being like “humans don’t work that way, do NOT do that!”) I just felt like this entire book could have been essentially the same, even if that part was taken out.

2. The other dragon’s reasoning was bullshit, and Cherry immediately accepted it AND invited him over? No. Also, if that were the case, why the FUCK did he attack Dante? Bro. And why did he kidnap her in the first place? None of this makes sense.

3. Cherry was a bit too lackadaisy about finding out her family is fine and that everyone is okay - the fact that she didn’t immediately want to go over ASAP after 5 years is insane.

4. I kind of feel like the author didn’t really think about what 5 fucking years in essential isolation would do - I think if we were going this “princess in a castle” route, we should have Sleeping Beautied it. Then the other dragon’s reasoning would make sense - his minions accidentally kidnapped her and put her in an enchanted sleep, he didn’t know where she lived but just wanted to keep her safe anyway. Voila.

5. The talking sword came back. Wish she didn’t.

6. Bro? The cat???? What.
Also, I didn’t think the cat subplot was necessary considering we already got the “kidnapping demons and forcing them to bloodsport” plot. But, I digress.

7. Gotta be honest here. Up until this book I thought Cherry was kidnapped as a child. Apparently I didn’t read the first book closely enough, but I thought she was like. A child. So this book was a bit of a “*insert Tim Allen heuuuuh sound here*” moment for me.

I gotta say, somehow this topped I Saved A Demon for me. I read all three of these in quick succession, and not only did the world and the story never get old, this one felt almost like a re-introduction of everything after books 1 and 2.

We knew where everything was going to end up from page 1 once we saw the name, but I was kept constantly guessing as to when our heroes were going to find out. I was stomping my feets demanding Cherry just GO IN THERE and let someone see you in the scrying mirror! Surely they'd recognize you! And then Felix didn't recognize her, so... maybe not anyway.

Regardless, I loved this. The initial breach of consent was so expertly handled and reconciled and I will forever love how strong all of these heroines are. I cannot wait to read the next story in this world.

I was excited for this pairing! I thought the lingering mystery of what had happened to Cin's sister was going to make for a really interesting storyline and it just kind of...didn't. Idk I think maybe cozy isn't my thing. I think I was hoping for some more interactions between sisters too, and it was more just like "oh word she's actually alive, that's pretty cool"
I did like this one better than the second one, but the first one still remains the one with the best plot.

I was laughing, kicking, and screaming that I got to read all 3! Thank you, Kimberly Lemming! This is before my comfort series. This story revolves around Cherry, and for REASONS that makes my heart so happy,
This is Cherry and Dante's story, and it's really sweet. I really like it. I know I said it last time, and I'll say it again. Please give Alexis her own story. No one steals a scene the way Alexis does.
100 I recommend this book and the entire series. This is a feel-good, fun, slightly smutty time.
Thank you again, Kimberly Lemming and Netgalley, for letting me read this book!

These books just keep getting better! I must say that I think this book is my favorite of the three in the series. It had such a great story and (in my opinion) was less steamy than the first two books in the series, which perfectly suited my preference! Cherry and Dante are my favorite couple in the Mead Mishaps series by far. I can't really explain why but these characters were just so endearing to me. This is such a fun and lighthearted series but still retains a strong plot which is so important to me regardless of if a book is super serious or super fluffy and cozy. Keeping my fingers crossed for a book 4!

This series is so fun to read. Lemming balances laugh out loud humor and scorching hot romance, with a grace that she makes look effortless.

this one had all the ingredients to be just as good and fun as the first two, but it just didn’t charm me like the others. kimberly lemming has definitely grown as an author and it shows in this book. regardless of my disappointment this time, i can’t wait to see what lemming does in the future.

Thank you to Orbit and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book.

To me, Kimberly is the queen of book rom-coms. Her romance books are actually FUNNY. From the aloof demon love interests to the snarky main characters, and my all-time favorite, Alexis, the ever-horny magical sword.

This installment of the Mead Mishaps series focuses solely on Dante and his quest to find his mate, who he stumbles upon almost immediately. I would not call this an insta-love situation, but it definitely is not a slow-burn romance either. Book 3 has all of your favorite Kimberly Lemming nuggets, but without any sort of outside conflict, most of the plot revolves around the 2 characters falling in love this time around.

I don't want to say more without spoilers, but if you've read the other books in this series then you know who Cherry is and how she fits into the story.

I think this was fun, but still nothing tops book 2 for me.

There's quite a bit of plot here that doesn't just revolve around their relationship, moreso than in the previous entries I think. I enjoyed the island setting where she's been held prisoner for so long, being able to see his dragon horde (and also the greed of the FMC for the shiny tiaras, lmao), and the colosseum/castle setting at the end when they mount a rescue operation.

This was definitely more memorable to me than the first book, though this might've been impacted by having to read it physically instead of on audio. And while I didn't love this one as much as Yeeted, it was still a very fun romp (if slightly more BDSM than the previous titles).

Definitely recommend the whole series and I hope Lemming writes even more in this world!

This series is solid! This book felt the most romantic yet. I will forever pick up Kimberly's books, I love her characters and the world she's created.

I love this author so much. These books are such a slice of happiness and coziness and the characters are so loveable! I love that each book is different and not a copy and paste with different characters, each book has a very unique and different story. The smut as always is perfect, and the quest they embark on was entertaining. This one got a little slow towards the end but the ending more than made up for that. I will read as many books as Kimberly is willing to write in this series!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC!

Kimberly 👏🏻 Lemming 👏🏻 does 👏🏻 not 👏🏻 miss👏🏻

I loved this as much as the first two books and I hope beyond hope this series never ends. It’s so fun, so raunchy, so ridiculous and so fantastical. Keep it coming.

When Cherry is kidnapped by a dragon she never expects that the key to her escape is another dragon... but this new dragon definitely wants to keep her for himself. Cherry was kidnapped five years ago by a dragon and has been stranded in his castle. She's tried everything to escape but hasn't managed to do so... yet when a mysterious new dragon shows up and offers to take her home, she's finally found a way out. Dante is a dragon who yearns for a mate, he's been alone for so long and after breaking his curse he decides to visit a friend of his fathers only to discover a young woman trapped there... a young woman who smells exactly like what his mate would. To his surprise, Dante discovers his mate but now he'll have to find a way to court her and it's been years (he's over 700) since he's properly courted anyone. Cherry see's Dante as an escape route but can Dante prove to her that they're perfect for each other? Another cute read in the series and honestly, I hope this series continues because each new couple is a fun one to read about and all the rom com shenanigans is great. It's raunchy, it's a fun time. and it's a fast read!!

*Thanks Netgalley and Orbit Books, Orbit for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review*

This was just as fun as the first two books and the plot threads that this book presenting only has me excited to read more from this universe. I'm hoping we get to see the adventure mentioned in the story and the catharsis of Cherry finally coming home to her family really was the cherry on top.

"That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Human" by Kimberly Lemming is a fantasy rom-com that takes a humorous twist on traditional fairytales. The story revolves around a spirited young woman named Cherry who, much to her dismay, finds herself locked away in a dragon's tower. In a delightful turn of irony, Cherry realizes that her romantic prospects have taken a peculiar turn, and fate seems to have a quirky sense of humor.

The novel promises a laugh-out-loud adventure as Cherry navigates her unexpected predicament. The premise challenges the conventional narrative of princesses waiting for their Prince Charmings, as Cherry must find her own way out of the tower. The unexpected twists, including encounters with dragons, add an element of surprise and whimsy to the story.

Readers who appreciate fantasy with a comedic touch, unconventional heroines, and unexpected plot developments might find this book an entertaining and enjoyable read. If you've read "That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Human," feel free to share your thoughts—whether you found the humor engaging, enjoyed the fantasy elements, or appreciated the unique take on classic fairytales.

Did I just binge this series of three books in less than three days? Why yes, yes I did. There’s just something so addicting and entirely enthralling about this world and the characters within it. The added enjoyment of spice doesn’t hurt either 🤭

Each book plays off the one before revealing love story after love story from chance encounters and bonds formed between humans and the paranormal out of actions while under the influence in some form or another.

🍻centuries-old dragon
🍻missing sister
🍻rescued from captivity
🍻dual POV
🍻fated mates
🍻accidental marriage/bonding
🍻hates everyone but her
🍻touch/hurt her and ☠️
🍻gifts is DEFINITELY a love language, especially when they’re shiny

Girl in the tower stolen by a swamp beast and kept prisoner by a dragon is finally rescued after five years…by another dragon. A very high, per her use of not-your-average-tea, dragon that was also punch-drunk on her flowery scent. Of course, there’s bound to be consequences like accidentally biting her and bonding her as his wife and mate.

Cherry and Dante’s story is an adventure of a slightly different kind than the books before. Theirs is one of traveling across the kingdoms exploring while simultaneously learning more about one another and growing closer after the bond thrust upon them. And then of course there’s the zombie horde. So I guess not all sunshine and rainbows. Chasing after phoenixes, underground fighting rings kidnapping demons, and don’t forget a terrifying monster that can create contagious zombified beasts from a bite, all while slowly falling in love. No shortage of adventure for this duo.

This may have been my second favorite book of the series, only falling a smidge below book one simply for the fact that its book one and Fallon is a grumpy sinnamon roll of a sweetheart. I loved seeing both the previous leading couples, specifically the males, taking such a prominent role in helping the utterly helpless centuries-old dragon woo his sudden wife.

If more stories rolled out beyond these three books from this world and involving these characters, I’d definitely pick them up to read.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 (4.5)

Cherry and Dante are my favorite couple and this is my favorite book in the series so far! Cherry is such a spitfire and Dante is so clueless!

This book was the most outlandish and the most fun of the series so far! They just keep getting better.

I hope there is more in the Mead Mishaps series
