This book, like its predecessors, was a delightful romp. Between laughing out loud on one page and toe curling on the next, this book delivered all that it promised.

The only negative thing I could say about it is the cover redesign is truly awful. The original covers are PER.FECT.

I absolutely loved the first two books in this series, but I really struggled with this one. Though I loved Dante in the previous books, it felt like he went from a daunting dragon to a sad lonely boy who wanted nothing but love. I also felt that Cherry's kidnapping story did not make any sense and that her personality was inconsistent throughout the whole book. I was bored until about 70% through and even the spice wasn't as good as the previous books.

I also want to add that Dante's inability to ask for consent for the first 30% drove me up a wall. Having a complete turn around and saying that he would only engage in sexual activities when she was sober didn't make up for the fact that he essentially bonded with her against her will (among other things).

So no. This was not it for me.

The best book out of the trilogy!!!! The romance was lovely and the length of the book gave it just the right amount of time to develop. Cherry and Dante have my heart.

Another fun, spicy, fantasy romance! These books are so easy to get sucked into and fly through. As much as I hate when characters don't fully communicate at least the author gave plausible reasons for it. I will definitely keep reading her work!

If I’m going to read insta-love, then it needs to be written by Kimberly Lemming.

I’m on record as a massive fan of her Mead Mishaps series, cozy, hilarious, and steamy fantasy books that follow the adventures of humans and shifters falling in love while they defeat their foes.

With this newest addition to the series, we follow Dante the Storm Dragon as he searches for his fated mate, quickly finds her, accidentally kidnaps her, and then tries his hardest to woo her.

It’s a fun romp of a time and though I enjoyed it, I did find it a bit slower and less action driven than the other books. But honestly, it isn’t a problem. This books is still a delight, contains some very fun surprises and cameos, and will make you laugh a lot. It’s a great time – which is exactly what we’ve all come to expect from Kimberly Lemming.

The plot of this was a couple play fantasy creature Pokémon go while the dragon shifter tries to convince the girl he kidnapped from a kidnapper that they are mates. It wasn’t quite what I would describe as a cozy fantasy because they still found themselves in situations they had to fight their way out of. But the characters from the first 2 books being present was alright.

The pacing of the book was all over the place. It felt like this couple went on 13 meaningless side quests that barely moved things forward in the plot. It was a bit of a mess when it came to romantic scenes with the shift into and out of the scenes being so drastic I found myself hating having to read it…

Mid book there was a POV shift that really was an annoying distraction from the book. The story was already all over the place.

I should have DNF’d this book, in all honesty.

Thank you NetGalley and Orbit books for an ARC of this book. All opinions are my own

I finally found out what happened to Cherry!

You don't understand how intrigued I was with the disappearance/death of Cherry, well, maybe you do. But still! I loved this book! Kimberly Lemming is a wonderful breath of fresh air in serious fantasy. She writes funny, somewhat odd characters who fall in love hard.

There is spice and sweetness in That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Human.

I hope that there are going to be more stories in the Mead Mishaps world. I think there is another shorter story, but I want the updated cover for that one too!

Thanks to Netgalley and Orbit Books for the ARC of this!

This series is ridiculously fun! I think this one might be my favorite so far, because I loved Dante trying to figure out how to act around humans. I also liked seeing so many characters we know and enjoy already, and how the plot came together.

“If she had the ability, and if door frames had complex enough lives to warrant a family who would love and miss them in the event of their demise, she would send pieces of its body back to them in a methodical pattern. Then make wine from their tears. Instead of ever entertaining the notion that she may have just not looked where she was going. I was both in awe of and in deep fear of her. If this wasn’t love, it was damn close.”

In the latest installment of the Mead Mishaps series we get to follow Dante (a dragon shifter) as he leaves the group to search for his fated mate. He finds her being held captive by another dragon. After rescuing her he sets about the task of wooing her, often with hilarious outcomes. She’s an adventurous spirit and seeks out unicorns, phoenix, and every other legendary beast. Dante meanwhile gets dating advice from Fallon and Felix to try to convince his wife to accept the bond.

As with the other books in this series, it’s just so much fun! This one has even lower stakes than the others, there is some action but this book is more about exploring the world, which I loved seeing more of. The spice is great and the rest of the book is so funny I couldn’t put it down. I disliked the miscommunication but could easily get past it. Alexis, the talking flying sword is back too, and we get to meet a few new side characters as well. I think the first book is my favorite but this one is a close second.

That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Human follows Dante, the storm dragon we met in books one and two, as he sets off on his own to find his mate after tiring of watching his lovestruck friends. Dante goes to check on an old family friend and runs into Cherry, <spoiler>the very much not dead sister of Cinnamon from book one,</spoiler> who was kidnapped and unable to escape despite repeated attempts.

<spoiler>Dante quickly realizes she is his mate and will do anything to keep her by his side. Cherry just wants to experience freedom for the first time in five years and return to her family without endangering them.</spoiler>

I absolutely adore this series and this is a delightful continuation. Dante and Cherry are coming from very different places which creates some tension that had me saying "just talk to each other!" but totally understandable why that didn't happen. The sex scenes are *chef's kiss*. All around, this is a delightful romp.

Thank you to NetGalley and Orbit for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

I love this series so much! I was also so excited to see who this story was about!! Cherry!!! She has been mentioned so many times so I felt like it had to be coming. She is my favorite human we have had so far!!
This was a fun twist where the human was the one being saved. If you are looking for a fun lighthearted read I recommend this series! The first book is That Time I got Drunk and Saved a Demon.

This was my first Kimberly Lemming read, and I am OBESSED!! If you are looking for a cozy, sweet yet full of humor. Lemming delivers on each part. It's a very quick read and Lemming's writing is magical and witty. At times, I laughed out loud, other times I was smiling. The world building in this book is well done. Cinnamon is not only funny with her inner dialogue but also relatable as she is courageous and loving. Her curiosity and fiery spirit were just a joy to read. I will be reading the previous books in the Mead Mishaps series!!

I can't get over how funny this series is! If you are looking to laugh- then this is a perfect book to read. The humor flows naturally and adds to the story telling. I found myself laughing out loud so often that my roommate started to ask questions.

The romance in this book is so sweet. I love the continued focus on ensuring consent is maintained.

I will add, I didn't enjoy the inclusion of Gideon at the end (why I gave 4 stars). It felt like it honestly came out of nowhere. It could have been foreshadowed with previous, narrow escapes from being recaptured.... But to go the entire book and suddenly he pop back up? It threw me off. Threw me off even more when he was so easily "defeated". It felt like he was forgot about and was just remember at the end..... I think the zombies should have been the final "big bad"

I love Alexis. I desperately need an Alexis in my life. Yala and Cyser were hilarious additions to the cast of characters. It was funny how close, yet so far they got to revealing the connection to cherry/cinnamon.

I can't wait for further installments.

That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Human is another amazing book from Kimberly Lemming. If you have enjoyed her other mead realm tales then you will love this one as well. Kimberly had me giggling kicking my feet and swooning at the MMC. I loved getting to see and hear from the other characters from the other books and I think that this book might be my favorite in the series so far! I can't wait to read more books from Kimberly Lemming!

Sparks are flying in this cute fast paced romance. I didn't really like the beginning when the main character Dante marks his mate Cherry without letting her know what it means, though Cherry did drug him so he wasn't in the right mindset. Cherry was kidnapped by a different dragon 5 years ago, and Dante happens upon her when he decides its time to find his mate. Cherry drugs Dante hoping she can convince him to save her, little does she know he would have done it without drugging her. So really the book should be called "That Time I got High and Saved a Human". Now the mate bond is strong and Cherry physically wants Dante, but mentally knows she doesn't even know this man. Dante must do his best to try to learn how to woe the human, or he may lose his chance at happiness.

I'm obsessed with this series! Even though Dante and Cherry weren't my favorite couple of the three (because honestly, Cin and Fallon just have a very special place in my heart), the story was still such a fun ride. Lemming just doesn't know how to write a bad character. You won't find a single soul described as boring, uninteresting, or two-dimensional. They have depth, they have personality, and they have relatability. They genuinely feel like real people I could meet and have these actual conversations with, minus the magic (boo). I've been recommending this series relentlessly and I shall continue to do so. It feels good, it's hilarious, it's relatable, and I already want to reread them all. I hope there's more to come!
