A fun and amusing romp with a couple you want to root for! I love how the author subverts typical fantasy stereotypes/tropes and gives the fantasy world a modern feel. This entire series is funny, sexy, and feel-good. There are elements of violence/hardship, but they are always overcome in an absurdly quick way. I really enjoyed this, but I’m rating 4/5 stars because 1) the author’s writing style is not my absolute favorite, and 2) it needs a bit of editing in my opinion (as do books 1 & 2).

A big thank you to NetGalley, Orbit Books, and Kimberly Lemming for the eARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

I love a fun, cozy, romantic fantasy and Kimberly Lemming is a master! The first two in the series were so enjoyable and this one was no exception. Lemming had me laughing throughout the book and her style is so vivid for me, I can picture the scenes playing out in my head, which leads to more laughter. This book is fun, charming, and witty...I can't ask for more!

The themes of the book are pretty similar to the previous two, but so is the title, so no surprise there. Part of why I loved it though. The characters are funny and adorable, from main characters to side characters. I loved the return of previous beloved characters, and the stories for the new ones.

With no spoilers: I would've liked to have seen more of the reunion but that's just me! I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a cozy, romantic fantasy (with a side of spice) just like I have the previous two. Kimberly Lemming is a must-read author for me now.

**TL;DR**: Another fun entry in this series (made especially so by the lack of drunkenness and abundance of being drugged).

Any follower of this series may know the original title for this was ‘That Time I Drugged a Dragon’ which is a way more apt title. This follows Dante as he decides to leave Boohail and find some quiet and possibly his mate in the now free world.

Minor spoilers for those still early in the series - but his mate is Cherry, Cinnamon’s lost sister who she believed to be dead. Kidnapped by a water dog of sorts she has been kept in a tower by sleeping dragon for 5 years. Dante, visiting his old friend (the sleeping dragon), finds her and in a bid to get her escape, she drugs him. This part by far was the funniest part of the whole book, I am not going to lie. In the, let’s call it a scuffle, that follows the two become bonded into a forced marriage.

This series continues to just be fun. There isn’t a lot of meat here, and you can see that perhaps what’s driving it forward are the sex scenes, which I skim. But there is also a lot of creativity at hand. Kimberly Lemming continues to show a lot of promise and I enjoy these reads. This one also contains a book that acts remarkable like a Pokedex, which really tickled my little PokeMaster heart.

That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Human is the third book in the Mead Mishaps universe and it continues the trend of fantastic rom-com fantasy with spicy and nice mixed together for the perfect afternoon read. In previous reviews I have mentioned that Kimberly Lemming has a true talent for character creation and interactions and she brings her A-game to this latest installment. I was really excited to see a story for Cherry and I was thrilled that Dante got to meet his human. It was great to see how their relationship developed while navigating the world. The previous cast of characters make appearances as well so there's a lot of fun chaos throughout the book. The added world building element for this book was great because we got to see more of what makes up their universe. I would recommend That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Human to any reader looking for an enjoyable rom-com and another great installment in the Mead Mishaps universe.

4.5 stars rounded up

This was delightful! I love this entire series so much. Fantasy romance with tongue-in-cheek humor that cracks me up. This third installment follows a young woman who has been kept captive by a dragon and is constantly trying to escape. So when another dragon-shifter shows up, she decides to drug him and get him to free her. Not realizing that he recognizes her as his mate and in a drugged stupor, bites her and claims her, creating a magical connection between them.

I think this does a pretty good job of playing with potentially questionable tropes while carefully walking a line to keep us in the world of consent and somewhat equal power dynamics. Some more sensitive readers may still be bothered by some bits of it, but I was able to still be rooting for the couple and have fun. The dragon may be possessive, but he respects her boundaries, is willing to court her and wait, enjoys her hardheadedness, and goes out of his way to spoil her. I found it to be fun and charming. If you like the other books give this a try too! I received a copy of this book for review via Netgalley, all opinions are my own.

In "That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Human," Dante has only just begun his journey to find his mate when he stumbles, nose first, into Cherry’s irresistible and high-inducing presence.

Cherry, an unconventional damsel in distress, finally attains her goal of escaping an island a dragon has trapped her on. The twist? She’s rescued by another broody, scarred and (dare I say?) handsome dragon who, for some reason, claims they are bound for life.

Cherry and Dante’s romantic escapade involves booze, laughter, and twist that will drive you mad with the realization that the couple doesn’t see it coming.

I found this third book in the Mead Mishaps series the most enjoyable by far. Dante, the grumpy dragon to Cherry’s human feisty sunshine, is a fun character since he is horribly naive of human customs. Similarly, even though being trapped by a different dragon on his island for years, Cherry is ignorant to dragon customs since the original dragon never spoke to her. It was fun seeing them learn more about each other out throughout the book.

This story is spiiiiiicy, as are the rest of the Mead Mishaps, and would likely be up your alley if you want an easy to read, smutty-ish romance set in a fantasy world.

Big thanks to Kimberly Lemming, Orbit Books and NetGalley for the chance to read this ARC!

The whole series is amazing, but I love Dante and Cherry’s story. From thinking love or finding a mate to finding mate and they didn’t trust you. But learning to love one another’s differences, but accepting that being different is okay. It was funny, romantic and had its moments of spice.

Kimberly Lemming books are always so much fun. That Timed I Got Drunk and Saved a Human is no exception. The titles are even fun!

*Thank you so much to Orbit Books and Netgalley for an ARC of the rerelease in exchange for an honest review!*

Y'all, my love for Kimberly Lemming's writing has only been cemented by reading the third book of this book series! After two books with references to Cherry and the impact she had on the other protagonists, it was nice to to read from her perspective and see her get the happy ending she deserved - even if it involved some shenanigans along the way.

Stubborn but well intentioned, funny but sensitive, Cherry and her POV was fun to read about and had its relatable moments. Dante, ever intense but devoted to his fated mate, was also fun to read about. I had previously found myself curious about him thanks to the previous books, so seeing his journey in understanding humans and his human wife was entertaining and nice. They meshed so well together and their chemistry was sweet, and the spicy/smutty bits? Hell yes.

Once again, getting to see more of the setting and the fantasy creatures made it for a fun read. It was engaging and the plot had many hilarious moments thanks to the side characters, Alexis the talking sword (again) and the other creatures from this world. Now, I can't help but wonder what other adventures can this world bring? If there are more, I look forward to reading about them!

If you guys want something lower stakes, sexy and hilarious? Go pick up this book with the other two books from the series!

I am speechless after reading this book! I could kick myself for taking so long to read it. I absolutely loved everything about book. First, let me start by saying I love this world that Kimberly Lemming has created and how the characters from her books are interconnected and each books continues to build upon the original. I LOVE the BIPOC representation and Body Positivity (Love In All Sizes) this book and the previous ones have!! Representation truly matters. Not only are the characters described beautifully, they have personality and are funny. I mean I love good banter, but to have humor on top of it...and not just the side characters (as is common in most books) but multiple characters. Lemming does a great job of truly letting them play off of each other so no character's role is minor. The romance in this book is different compared to the previous ones--in a good way--so it further adds to the diversity of the series and yet it was still spicy. The only thing that sucks is that I want to immediately read another book and one isn't readily available, which means I have to wait.

The highly funny and entertaining third book of the Mead and Mishaps series. This time it is Cherry slipping a highly potent herb in Dante’s tea so she can escape the other dragon that has been holding her captive for the last five years. Hijinks ensue as she and Dante are fated mates. So fun to see them tiptoe around each other as they figure out the new situation and I laughed many times. Yes, it does get a bit graphic but it is all consensual with Dante respecting barriers until Cherry is okay with it. There are cameos from the other book characters but it still is easy enough to have this be a standalone book.

I must admit I want to read the big book of magical creatures (but not just for the size comparisons. :) )

So my take away is that this is an entertaining fairly quick read with lots of laughs and a few groans for the cheesiness ( yes my honey badger!) And I would not mind reading more insta love matches that are written by this author.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of this book to read and review.

Another great story from Kimberly Lemming! This series has been so fun and entertaining, and this new story does not disappoint!

This story centers on Dante’s search for his mate, after seeing so many of his friends find theirs. Just when he sets off, he stops by an old dragon friend to pay a quick visit. There he finds a beautiful woman who is being kept captive. He sets her free and their adventure together begins!

As with all the other books in this series, it’s funny, adventurous, and has a sweet romance at it’s center.
Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I mean, this whole series was just a great time. It's funny, cute and smutty. This one was a bit slow for me in some parts. I guess I was excited for that things that happened at the end. It was just a great time.

I got an e-arc of this book on NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

In this third installment of mead mishaps it’s time to follow our poor old dragon, Dante! Every other demon is finding love but Dante. First Fallon, the Felix. When will it be his turn?! As he begins his journey to find love Dante visits an old friend, Gideon, who is also a dragon! During this visit Dante is captivated by the scent of a woman who’s been trapped in Gideon’s tower for five years! Is this his mate? Can he be lucky in love so soon into his journey? There’s only one way to find out, and that’s to save this damsel in distress.

KIMBERLY LEMMING CANNOT MISS!!! This book was SO MUCH FUN! It’s laugh out loud funny and has all the same humor and wit the previous books have. I love Lemmings characters and how she writes women. They are sassy, funny, loud, and not afraid to stand up for themselves. The spicy is SPICY! I never thought I would enjoy spicy romances but they are too fun to pass up. The adventure is captivating and the romance doesn’t hog center stage. The book is so well balanced. I can seriously go on and on about this book/series. It’s definitely going to be one of my favorite reads of the year!! I hope she writes more in this world!

If there's one thing Ms. Lemming is going to do, it's make me giggle. I absolutely LOVE the humor she infuses into her books and That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Human is no exception. The book starts off with a funny scene involving Dante's supernatural strength and it stays funny throughout. I also love Lemming's heroines- they feel so real. And if there's one thing about the men in her books, they going to be down HARD for their women. From scene one. And truly what woman doesn't deserve that?

I really enjoyed the plot of this book- the adventure our two main characters go on is fun-and dark- and I so loved having sprinkles of our previous couples in the book. The Fallon-Dante-Felix trio is so fun and I really hope we get another story in Boohail so we can see all 3 couples together more (I'm still hoping for a Bash/Sunbeam book). I also appreciated getting to learn more about what happened during Myva's reign of terror.

At this point, I will trust Kimberly Lemming with anything and will read anything she writes. I just hope the next book comes out sooner rather than later.

As with all Kimberly Lemming books, this was a fun book to read and deserves a spot in what is one of my favorite series.

While not ousting Brie and Felix as my favorite Mead Mishaps, this book captured all the elements from the first two that I loved: humor, banter, character introspection, an adventure plot, and general fun time. I appreciate too how Lemming takes general tropes and turns them on their heads. In this one we see a new and refreshing take on damsel abducted by a dragon (twice). I also love the subtle nods to previous books woven throughout the story (Alexis is back, Felix too). It really keeps the series pulled together but not in a repetitive or vague way, but instead like a fully developed world we are just stopping through.

I really hope there are more books in this series (and just in general more books from Kimberly Lemming) because this is a great series and world that I can't want to come back to to see what adventure and characters Lemming has imagined next.

This time the flavor of the book is “dom-my dragon that just wants to worship the main character”, a girl who was kidnapped by another dragon and deals with trauma from it, more Alexis, and more good sex and fun romps. Definitely pick up this series.

I loved this book so much! This book was everything I have come to love and expect from Kimberly Lemming plus so much more! I was grinning like a fool the entire book and demanding all my friends drop everything to read it. I loved the additional POVs and seeing all my favorite characters from the previous books.

This book was lack of communication done right. I loved knowing the connection between Cherry and Dante while they had no clue. I was losing my mind waiting for them to find out.

Cherry was hilarious and brave. Dante might have taken Fallon’s spot as my favorite dragon. He was so sweet and caring with an absolutely filthy mouth.

This book has some absolutely hilarious moments. I loved Dante asking all the other guys for love advice.

The Mead Mishap series continues with The Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Human. The final book in the series follows Cherry, Cin's sister that was thought to be dead when she was attacked by a monster in the water five years ago. Cherry has been stranded on an island and kept captive by a dragon who has no intention of letting Cherry go. When Dante decides to leave the pirate crew to find his own fated mate, he decides to visit another dragon on an island. There he meets Cherry, his fated mate. In a failed attempt to have Dante take Cherry home, she finds herself claimed by Dante and now at his home in Volsog. Cherry will have to trust Dante if she wants to go home but maybe she will fall in love on the way.

This book was probably my favorite in the series. All of my favorite characters are back, and I love Dante and Cherry as a couple. Their adventures were both comedic and spicy with an ending that I loved. I loved there adventure so much that I finished this book in a couple hours. Although I am sad to see this series end, the adventure is not over yet as there are two novellas for this series.

The Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Human comes out on March 5th.

Myth:

This is definitely a rom-com, seemingly light-hearted even when it throws its dubious consent and bawdy books are you! I absolutely cackled to myself with some of Cherry’s lines. It was a fun exploration of the larger world Kimberly Lemming has created.

Magic:

Dragon shifters, magic books, demon cats, and more. In this world, demons are really anything not human.

Overall:

This series is so fun! I love each romantic pairing. Cherry is a different kind of heroine than her sister since she longs for adventure and happens to also experience the danger of it. The exploring aspect of Cherry and Dante’s relationship building was really fun.
