I really enjoyed these short stories! This was a perfect read for the start of the holiday season.
I enjoyed the coziness for Dashing Through The Snow. I could definitely see it becoming a Hallmark movie one day. A woman coming off of a bad breakup, falls in love on a Christmas train? What more could you ask for in a charming holiday romance?? (Side note: I NEED to go on the Christmas Express! It sounds like the perfect experience for any Christmas lover!)
The second story, Pining For You had a different tone overall, but still brought a great second chance romance. I enjoyed the duel POV and loved the epilogue!
Overall I rate this 4 out of 5 jingle bells!

I loved this happy, festive novel. I will be reviewing this on my podcast, Book Fare. It's perfect for our audience of women looking for wholesome, encouraging reads.

This is 2 stories in 1, and they were both such cute Christmas stories! They were a tad bit abrupt, but that is really to be expected for novellas. From a Christmas train to a Christmas tree farm, these stories will definitely get you in the holiday mood!

Happy publication to Melissa Ferguson and Snowy Serendipity! Thank you to Melissa Ferguson, Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Audio, and NetGalley ( @netgalley ) for allowing me to read an ALC (Advanced Listener 🎧 Copy) for an honest review!
📅 Tuesday, September 26, 2023 was the pub date for Snowy Serendipity. The narrators🎙️for this audiobook 🎧 are Talon David and Kayla Jackson. 📅
This audiobook 🎧 consists of two novellas in one: 1) Dashing Through the Snow and 2) Pining for You. Both are holiday reads with a splash of romance.
Dashing through the snow was my favorite novella out of the two but I appreciate that Pining for You is set in the mountains of Virginia (I currently live in a VA mountain town).
Dashing Through the Snow is a cozy read that follows a FMC that feels down on her luck after a breakup. She embarks on a train adventure where she makes a great friend in an elderly gentleman and opens her heart at the possibility of falling in love again. Can her new love interest win her over?
Pining for You is a cute small town romance. I found the characters less relatable than those in Dashing Through the Snow. However, it’s still a feel-good Holiday read.
The narrators were fantastic together!

‘...but this, this is something entirely different. Gleaming candy apple red paint across the body, trimmed throughout in gold and green. A colossal wreath hangs on the front of the engine, the scent of pine needles already waging and winning the fight against the typical greasy air...The Christmas Express.’
This audiobook brings you not one, but two adorable Christmas romances. One set on The Christmas Express and the other at Evergreen Christmas Tree Farm. In the first offering, Dashing Through the Snow, FMC Willow has just been dumped and faces a two week long, romantic trip aboard the train of her dream alone. What she finds aboard, instead is friendship, fun, and herself...and maybe a little something extra. In Pining for You, childhood friends and sweethearts Skye and Theo must work together to take care of Theo’s family’s Christmas Tree farm following an accident. But will they be able to work together long enough to heal old wounds?
Look, I am not a romance girlie, I think anyone who knows me or is familiar with my reviews knows this. Generally, I find the formulaic manner of romances to be boring and I often find myself disengaged. But sometimes you just need something sugary sweet to indulge in. With Christmas on the horizon (yes, I am that person) I have been looking forward to every, single holiday romance I plan to read. This was an excellent starting point. Neither of these stories was particularly long and that felt right. I am also a sucker for Christmas stories set on trains, there is just something magical about it...if you like stories of women getting their groove back after a breakup or a second chance romance, these will be for you. These are cute, wholesome stories, so if you are hoping for some spice, I am sorry to disappoint. My demisexual little heart loved that these couples were taking their time and really connecting, so I am forever grateful for a pair of stories that doesn’t even need the door closed.
Both Talon David and Kayla Jackson were excellent narrators. I think each gave perfectly to their stories and I found them both very engaging and easy to listen to.

Dashing Through the Snow
This story was fine, I guess. It wasn’t exactly entertaining.
Pining for You
This story I DNFed.
Overall: You can skip this duo.
**Thank you, NetGalley and Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Audio for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.**

These novellas were sweet, but I wasn't blown away. Maybe if they were built out into full length novels I would have been more invested. As they were, it was a cute read.

I found the stories to be very cute. Feel-good and cozy, they are the perfect holiday stories. The narrator felt very robotic, like she was reading an academic text book rather than a cozy romance.

This was the perfect audiobook to get me into the holiday spirit! The narrator's voice was soothing and upbeat. I've read two of Melissa Ferguson's books and enjoyed them both - I love her writing!
I liked the second and first novellas in this collection the best - but the third one was also cute. I am typically a reader who struggles with novellas because I need more character development and detail, but overall this was an enjoyable book!

These were both cute stories to read during winter. The romance was sweet and the stories were short and to the point. I liked the narrator as well

I enjoyed listening to both of these stories. One we ride along for a Christmas train ride with willow as she has a little fun with the people on the train.
And the other watching Skye and Theo as their relationship develops

Melissa Ferguson has become an auto read author for me. I was excited to see that she had two new holiday romance novellas and couldn't wait to jump into them. I enjoyed the characters and the settings of both stories. They were both sweet holiday romances although I found myself thinking about "Dashing Through the Snow" slightly more after reading it. The narrator for this audiobook was a perfect fit and made the stories come to life even more. Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction for an advanced audio copy! All thoughts and opinions are my own!

These were 2 short and sweet Christmas stories. Think cheesy Hallmark vibes but I loved them and it was exactly the feel good Christmas story I was looking for.

Melissa Ferguson offers listeners a double serving of holiday cheer, with two festive, romantic audio stories with gorgeous seasonal atmosphere. The narrators showcase the stories with their emotional and spirited narration of the winter adventures showcased in two winter novellas.
In Dashing Through the Snow, Willow takes a holiday train excursion aboard the The Christmas Express. Sadly, she goes alone after a break up. As the journey progresses through settings such as the Connecticut woodlands, things improve for Willow. The other characters that she meets are uniquely genuine.
The second story, Pining for You, is set against a backdrop of Virginia mountains. Skye and Theo have a history that goes back to childhood. They reunite one winter due to family and business circumstances for calamities and misadventures and romance.
This audiobook provided me a comforting escape into two very different tales that both sparkle with winter joy and romantic appeal.
Thank you to Net Galley and Thomas Nelson Zondervan Audio for the advance listening copy. My review is my own.

Thank you to the publisher for Snowy Serendipity which contains 2 Christmas novellas. The first one was super cute and it was finding love on the Christmas express train. It was perfect to get you in the mood for the holiday.
The second story was about a second chance romance and it wasn't as memorable as the first one.
Overall, great stories to get you in the holiday spirit.

Melissa Ferguson’s Snowy Serendipity is an audiobook composed of two Christmas novellas (short stories).
The first story, Dashing Through the Snow, follows Willow as she heals from a breakup she didn’t see coming. While riding on the The Christmas Express, she encounters a wide cast of characters that help her find her purpose and passion in life.
The second story, Pining for You, reunites childhood sweethearts, Skye and Theo. The two lost touch 15 years ago. They left off on bad terms, but when they are are forced to work the Christmas tree farm together, they can’t help but rekindle their love.
As with all of Melissa Ferguson’s books, these are sweet, clean romances. They both are quick stories, that make for an easy listen. In addition, the content is safe for listeners of all ages. A perfect choice of entertainment while traveling in the car this holiday season.
Special thanks to Netgalley, Melissa Ferguson, and Thomas Nelson (Zondervan Audio) for allowing me to listen to this audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

Are these two short stories for me? No, unfortunately. Are these stories cute as all get out and will I recommend them to lovers of Hallmark-esque stories? ABSOFREAKINGLUTELY!
Both of these stories are adorable and leave you with the HEA that so many are after. These are quick, filled with lovable characters, and leave hope for love. These may not be my type of romance books, but I know that these will absolutely make someone's day.

If a cross country train ride is on your bucket list, you'll love this audiobook. If rekindling a youthful romance on a Christmas Tree farm sounds like a good time then this audiobook is for you too. I was delighted to hear two different stories of love lost and found from the same author. The characters in both stories were warm and realistic. The settings, who doesn't love a train or a tree farm? It was easy to imagine and step inside each of these stories and watch the magic happen.

I throughly enjoyed this book omg. This was a book with two novellas - Dashing through the snow & Pining for you. These both were short, cozy cute holiday reads. I personally didn’t really like the second one.. I’m not sure if it was because I didn’t like the characters or the story line but “pining for you” wasn’t for me. BUT “dashing through the snow” I LOVEDDD!! I didn’t want this one to end. It was giving very much .. the polar express & the FMC Willow was going through a break up. I can’t think of a single bad thing to say about this novella except for the fact that I wish it was longer!!
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Snowy Serendipity was a meet cute Christmas novella duology that was a fun quick holiday romance read. I’ll be reviewing both books within this novella duo, and the audiobook itself.
Book one: Dashing Through the Snow
Audiobook itself: The narration was was lovely and fun however there are editing errors as early as chapter one that cause the sentences to glitch, and or leap around. I replayed them several times to ensure it wasn’t any sort of loading or user error and unfortunately these glitches remained. Not sure if this is limited to my copy or not. It also at times sounded as though there were chunks of dialogue that was recorded and spliced in separately which was very noticeable with the change in tone and sound quality. I think these things would likely be a major frustration for audiobook users and would be worth fixing if it’s not limited to my copy. The narrator however was very pleasant and fun, lots of spirited emotions in the story that fit the FMC very well and brought the side characters to life. Would listen again.
Story: Our FMC Willow is quirky and immediately root-for-able which had me engaged in the story from the very beginning. I found her to be really fun, funny and likeable as well as her roommate who brings a lot to the opening plot with her banter and advice. The cast of lovable sidekicks continues with Ian and Clarence who are so adorable you want them to be real. Another come to life wish worthy character is our MMC Oliver who has it all, whit, charm, and Christmas. Cheer aboard the Christmas Express, and happenstance romance was just what Willow needed after a horrible break up, and her journey aboard the train is fun to ride along with. This is a relatable, realistic, rom com like quick HEA holiday romance read for anyone wanting to get into the spirit and looking to have a heaping dose of awww I wish it was me in their life! As a self proclaimed Christmas-aholic and hopeless romance this was exactly what I was looking for and will be a great gift able book for holiday HEA lovers for Christmas. I’ll admit the elves to the rescue ending had me teary eyed!
Book 2: Pining for you:
Narration: Audio quality was better here and didn’t have any of the issues the first one did. Narrator was just okay for me, but maybe a little less emotion in this tale than the previous. I didn’t feel as engaged as the previous narration. However it was still an enjoyable read and listen.
Story: I will admit the opening plot was a bit confusing for me and I had a had to relisten to it to get clear which characters were from the dinner sequence and from the Tree Farm plot but that may have been just me. Our FMC Sky and MMC Theo are childhood friends to semi-enemies after a heartbreak up and this book is about their second chance to work things out while helping her Dad on the tree farm Dash works on which Theo is the owner of. Even though Theo is happy in his life he is still turning his head to Sky and can’t look away. Sky blames him for more than their past but also what she perceives as the most unforgivable of hurts after finding what she thinks is proof. However through their time on the farm they are forced to work through and work out the truths of things and fall back in love along the way. I didn’t find this story as exciting or compelling as the first and I’m not sure if it’s the narrator being a bit on the more mellow side for emotions or for the story feeling low stakes. I just didn’t connect to it in the same way as the first story so this one may just have not been for me.
Thank you to Thomas Nelson and NetGalley for the opportunity to ARC read this audiobook. My thoughts are my own.
