Due to this book being pulled, I don’t have a full review to leave. I had high hopes, but with the controversy, I can’t in good faith leave a substantial review or promote it on my platform

A sweet and somewhat topical romance when American Lucy meets Arthur shortly after being dumped by her fiancé. Since Lucy was still wearing her engagement ring and Arthur is actually Prince Arthur, heir to the throne of England what should’ve just been a simple one-night stand becomes more when the paparazzi catch them and jump to conclusions. Adding fuel to fire Arthur’s brother has just decided to quit his job, and that means an instant major promotion for Arthur and somehow Lucy finds herself agreeing to stay engaged to the new King to prevent yet another scandal.

Her Royal Highness is lighthearted, contemporary romance with a good, steady flow and I loved the characters of Lucy and Arthur. As the spare Arthur never thought he’d have to step up but he’s a dutiful if reluctant king while Lucy never dreamt of the life she was now leading, and this book does a fantastic turn showing them coming to terms with their new lives while falling in love under the scrutiny of not only the eagle eye of the Dowager Queen but the press and public who are all enraptured by the fairy tale playing out in front of them.

I enjoyed this story immensely - I was hugely confused when I couldn’t find the information about it anywhere to properly review and share it in the book community … until my book bestie and I researched further. The information about the scandal surrounding it horrified me, especially reading the one article that both this incredible book and the follow-up were being pulled.

That is absolutely terrible news! Rename the king and make him less like Harry, make Lucy a bit less like Meghan (yes, ok, the book did definitely start out like their story and the cover is absolutely needing to be replaced), and release it. It’s too good for this!

Unreal - come on AJ Arnault - the romance community needs this book! It’s too good to give up on it!

I received an advance copy from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

Lucy Almont lives in Brooklyn and is an accomplished violinist in the Philharmonic. She has been working to create a children’s music education charity for middle schoolers. Tonight is the culmination of her efforts as she will be co-hosting a charity gala with none other than Arthur, the Prince of Wales. She’s very nervous but Arthur is quite genuine and helps to put her at ease.

Lucy has just found out that her fiancé who just dumped her is married and has two children back in Italy. She is furious with herself for being duped. She wishes she could get the engagement ring off her finger but it is stuck.

After the gala is over, she realizes she’s hungry and heads to the hotel bar for a drink and something to eat. However, it’s closed. She learns that Arthur has the place to himself but he invites her to join him. Their evening winds up being quite risqué. When they are photographed later in what looks like he is proposing to her, the paparazzi photographs them and the word is out that they are engaged. They decide to go with it and Lucy heads to London as Arthur’s fiancee. It turns out that Arthur’s brother, Andrew, who was being prepared to be crowned as King, has abdicated the throne in favor of Arthur. Life gets really busy for both of them and especially for Lucy who is new to any of this.

This is a clever story with tongue in check humor and unsaid references to the current state of scandalous events in the royal family in England. There are chuckles and tears but it shows that true love can last. I enjoyed this book and hope that it can find some publicity as it’s not currently listed on any major book sites. I believe it’s self-published. So, readers, enjoy!

DNF for me. I expected a rom com from the cover, but this is steamy contemporary. Also, referring to the brother of the king as the Prince of Wales irritated me every time.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC.

Her Royal Highness by AJ Arnault was a cozy read.
Although I found the semblance between the characters and real life royals to be a bit too similar which took away from my overall reading experience.
.When Lucy and Archie first meet it's absolutely not in the cards that they should meet again or that the magazines would start running stories about their "relationship".
This book is about trust, trust in your own abilities and in your relationship
The writing kept me engaged. It was like a Hallmark movie, predictable but overall comforting.
I received this arc through NetGalley

I received this book as an ARC from Ashley Casey through NetGalley and this review is based on my own opinion.

After a heartbroken violist is photographed with the Prince of Wales after their wild one night stand turns into a royal engagement.
Prince Arthur never thought he'd inherit the throne but that all changed at the gala after he met Lucy, who got recently dumped by her ex fiance.
After they spend the night together, they get photographed by the paparazzi, with an engagement ring and in order to prevent a scandal, they act like their engaged for the outside world but can they keep it up?

Even though I did finish the book and liked some parts, it wasn't the royal romance I've expected.
There were parts where the author wrote about royal stuff but when I read the book, I felt like I could have read about any type of person.
I did have a hard time finding the book on Goodreads, but seeing all the negative reviews I do understand why, I can't say I totally agree with all the reviews but there were parts in the book were I really struggled to get through.
Overall it was a 2.5 star read for me.

I enjoyed the part of the book that I read but the author is no longer publishing the book so there isn't really a point in me reviewing it. She got backlash which is understandable considering the name of the character and the cover.

This is a cute Hallmark-esque story. Just reading the description, you know that the “misunderstanding” and fake engagement are going to be a bit silly and there could be an easy solution but then we wouldn’t have a story now would we? The things that happen in the book aren’t going to be super realistic and can be quite cliche, but it’s a comforting, light, and easy romance read. I did feel that the ending was slightly abrupt even if it was a happy ending. Overall, I thought it was a nice light read and I enjoyed it. Honestly, I am interested in the next story about Arthur's brother.

Such a great book! I love how Lucy and Archie battle with their anxiety and win! Anxiety is a real issue and a constant battle... seeing how they go through it, it's just so cute and real. I think people with anxiety can learn a lot about this couple... at least I feel I did. I hope to read more from you in the future.

It was just ok for me. I love a good rom-com but this one was a little too over the top. I didn't enjoy the characters as much as I thought I would. The names were just to British Royal family for me and I felt it was just an imitation.

A far fetched rom com. However it was still a delightfully sweet read with some steamy scenes aswell. A decent story perfect for the Christmas season

The cover and book summary really intrigued me. Unfortunately, it was a book I had to power through. It started out cute, but became too unrealistic fan-fair for me. And the name Archie made me cringe every time I read it considering his dad’s face is on the cover. Just fell flat for me.

Wow, what a fun read. Not meant to be taken seriously but definitely entertaining enough to kill a few hours. Give it a chance.

Thank you to Ashley Casey, AJ Arnault, and NetGalley for providing an eARC for a honest review.

Seems like tacky fan fiction. Someone trying to rewrite Prince Harry’s personal life. I wanted to like it because of the cover but it just seems a bit meh. I like fan fiction but this was not one of the better ones.

(Don’t know how I missed this review, I’m sorry)

Her Royal Highness by AJ Arnault was such an enjoyable story. The characters were awesome and the story so sweet. This was a fast read. It was entertaining and kept me interested. I really liked these characters and enjoyed their story.

I would like to thank NetGalley and Ashley Casey/AJ Arnault for the opportunity to read this ahead of its publication date in return for my honest review.

I gave this author a shot, I usually enjoy Royal Rom-coms, but this was pretty far fetched. There’s no way not to think about the uncanny resemblance that Prince Harry has to the prince on the cover. There were way to many similarities to the current British royals.
This book can’t even be found on Goodreads anymore. Not sure if they removed it because of the negative reviews it had received.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this read. All opinions are my own.
This was a sweet, charming story with some amount of predictability. I loved the romance between Lucy and Archie. They fell in lust, quickly turned to love, and worked to understand each other and help each other grow. The conniving family members, contributing to a secret-turned-problem that a savvy reader could sense coming, were a great foil for the couple who seemed to have everything going well for them. Lucy and her siblings were named after the Chronicles of Narnia sibling set, which was a little strange, but her family weren't huge characters throughout. Overall, I enjoyed this little glimpse into an alternate royal family! Complete with a scandalous Andrew, a mother who died being chased by papparazi, and a red-headed second born prince. Any connections made to real people are entirely fictional.

There are several novels riding the British Royal family wave and some are pretty good so I was curious... specifically by the cover (did Prince Harry agreed to have his face on it ?)

Let's just say that it was blah. Too quick and too close in the names not to mix with the existing persons.
Funny as a fan fiction but not something I would pay for.

Thank you to Netgalley and the author for provinding an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
