It's a bit wacky and mostly fun, especially with that chicken, too. A picture book to help make a bad hair day lighter than ever.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This book is great for showing kids they don’t have to be perfect all the time and we all have bad hair days, especially at the end when in the book the main character isn’t the only one having a bad hair day. This book shows inclusion done right with minority communities along the way and in the group bad hair day so that every child is able to see themselves reflected even if they don’t match the main character. I also loved the chicken throughout because it gave me a giggle and I’m a big kid at heart.

The rhyming is catchy and the illustrations are vibrant and fun. This is a perfect picture day read aloud for elementary school classrooms!

This book is such a funny and cute story we can all relate to! The main character has a bad hair day, and like us all, sometimes we just have bad days. In the story, however, her peers accept her and even have their own "bad hair days." This would be such a cute story in the classroom to talk about inclusivity and accepting people and all their "bad days." You could even have the kids come to school with a wacky hair and mismatched clothes, to add a little fun to the week. Loved this story! The illustrations are also beautiful.

This book was super cute but also there wasnt much to it. I can see where it would be cute for a group of children though! I loved the rhyming and rythm to it and I did enjoy it. I would buy it for my daughter.

I read this book with my 5-year old after receiving a copy from NetGalley. The art is colorful and silly. The text is playful and apparently linked to a viral TikTok song, but unfortunately, I don't think it works in book form because it is repetitive and just bad grammar. Of course, my daughter got a kick or of the book, so the entertainment value is there, but don't get this book hoping for substance or takeaway messages.

This was a great book. Perfect for 1st and 2nd graders for sure

I know my nieces and nephews would enjoy it.

Illustrations reminded me of books we read when I was a kid

This was so fun! Loved seeing all the different ways the character experienced their bad hair. I loved how they all celebrated at the end of it.

I reviewed this with my 6 year old. We both loved the illustrations and she especially enjoyed the repetition of the song because it was easy for her to engage. I was unaware this was a TikTok trend but it makes sense. The story wasn't really a story, just a nice way to spend some time. For me I would have liked to see some conflict/resolution/lesson, that's where this fell flat for me.

The diversity in the illustration was good to see.

Apparently, this is a song from TikTok, but I’m not on that social platform, so I was unfamiliar with it. This is a quirky, goofy book about a kid having a bad hair day and then finding out it’s picture day at school. It’s a silly story with a kooky chicken as the kid’s sidekick. I think kids would find this a fun and humorous story. The illustrations are appealing and nice.

What a clever book for kids! On the back cover I saw that it was a song on Tik Tok with a QR code to make it easy to find. After searching online, I heard it sung and even saw a short video of the dance moves. New Zealand students even sing this in school, but I had no idea Bad Hair Day was such a hit. Now if I could just stop hearing this catchy tune in my head!

This story was super fun! I love how it’s based off the TikTok sound, it was playing in my head as I read it. I’m sure kids will absolutely love singing along whilst reading the book. I think the little companion chicken was a really cute addition, love silly animal companions.
